I watched it over the holiday and the people on the show are DUMB AS HAMMERS!!!!

I've felt this way for years; she may not be aware of this. I think it comes from all the years of living as a tortured gay person.

I liked her back when she had that sit com and came out.. Then, i read her book. Jesus Christ who let her put this out there?!?! Utter garbage. I forced myself to read to the end thinking it would get better. Ugh!!! Everything was "I think/feel this way", or not...

It amazes me that so many people can't see how mean Ellen actually is. If you ever need proof of it, go watch that clip of her and Michelle Obama shopping at a CVS together. You could tell Michelle was uncomfortable and it was cringe worthy. Ellen gets off on humiliating people.

Ellen thinks it’s hilarious when someone jumps out of a cabinet to startle her talk show guest. She does this over and over and laughs her head off when the person is startled.

Even 3 year olds find this prank boring after seeing it done a few times.

Yet Ellen has done it for years and laughs each time like it is the funniest thing she’s ever seen.

Cruel? This show is peanuts compared to those Japanese gameshows. Why have we gotten so soft?

Okay, my impression of Ellen is based on her stand-up special "Here and Now" and the first season or so of her sitcom years ago, but she is very funny. And, since she seems fun and nice, I'm stunned that anyone is complaining that she's mean, especially readers of DL! I mean, seriously?

I don't get why every comedian-based TV show these days has to maintain a high level of hysteria from beginning to end. I don't watch much TV, but the previews make everyone seem pretty much nuts.

I hope they do that game where one contestant pours gasoline on the other contestant and he has to outrun Ellen throwing matches at him. That's my favorite game.

Was working on the Warner Brother lot our teamster captain who is married to a producer, is naturally a car guy. He's owned a variety of high dollar vehicles cause they have a lot of money to indulge his tastes. So one day he was outside of Ellen's stage looking at her car, he used to own one, can't remember what kind of car, but it was expensive. Ellen comes out of the stage and sees him looking at the car and says "You wish."

Now that may not sound like a very asshole like thing to do but in a business like entertainment you never know who the guy might be in jeans and tee shirt. Ellen just assumed he couldn't afford the car.

It would serve her right if those people she's spinning around decided to vomit all over the stage.

She seems like a massively unhappy person as well as an abusive and angry drunk. I find her shows cringeworthy and uncomfortable. I’m not sure why people don’t see it.

I wish just once, a celebrity booked on her show would give her a hard time during an interview. Say things to her like 'what a stupid question' or 'are you drunk right now?'.

there was a straight couple on her talk show once and they were doing some game and the husband ribbed the wife; I forget the exact words, but I got the impression that the wife took it well and it was all in fun

but the look on ellen's face was I can't believe you talked to her that way and then she made a few passive aggressive remarks to the husband; they were involved in the game and I don't think he noticed it, but there was such anger in Ellen; and I don't think she's even aware of it.

I thought it was just me. I hated all those games she played and just stopped watching the show.

I have never understood the appeal of "surprise" videos. I think they are humiliating and not funny. I don't think it's funny to scare people.

When she appeared, I kept waiting for the humor. I never got the appeal and no, she wasn't funny at all.

I never watched her show, not once. But she doesn't seem to be an attention whore (I don't see Ellen "scandals" in the print), so I am not bothered by her at all. I don't like that Ellen is a toilet trained lesbian serving the desires of stay at home moms while minimizing the struggle of gay people. What's the problem with "stay at home moms," R67? There are TV shows that cater to every demographic these days, so why should "stay at home moms" be left out? I also doubt it's only SAHMs who watch TV during the day, and not all SAHMs watch TV anyway, plenty of retired folks or disabled people et al., do. Go back forty years and virtually all mothers stayed at home to raise their families. There's nothing shameful about that. The millennial hatred of Mothers is bizarre. After all, people don't just magically materialize out of thin air. We all had a mother....and it's not mothers, especially SAHMs, who kick the shit out of gay men.
