Billy wants to leave Days for his film career. He's Paul Newman, James Dean, Marlon Brando, and Jack Nicholson all rolled into one.

Billy's comment is hilarious, because he's obviously had to endure enough DOOL fan events to see that "disgusting hillbillies" also make up the majority of the show's viewers.

I admit I liked the below Twitter response to Billy. Not every rural hillbilly is conservative or pro gun. I had an ex who grew up in rural Tennessee. His father who was a Vietnam Veteran and he hated guns after the war. There were no guns in the house when my ex and his siblings were growing up. My ex said that his parents voted Democrat in most elections.

I doubt Billy would leave Days for another daytime soap. On Days he's considered one of their leading men. In 2017, he was given the most episode counts of any actor on the show. If he went to another soap, there's no guarantee viewers would soap hop with him, plus he'd have to compete for air time with more established vets where he went. I, do, however feel that one of the reasons Days created this Stefan-O character is as a type of contingency in case FOWBF decides to exit and go win his Oscar.

LOL Kathy Glass is a Libertarian - or was at one point. Very smart lady and very much about women's lib in the early 70's.

She more than likely came around to Trump as well.
