Jeremy Piven series canceled by CBS after sex pest claims
Offsite Linkby Anonymous | reply 58 | January 8, 2018 6:56 AM |
It probably would've been canceled anyway
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 28, 2017 1:47 AM |
An acquaintance of mine claims he was in a three way where he and some other guy spit-roasted Jeremy Piven in Las Vegas. Years ago.
I have no reason not to believe him.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 28, 2017 1:47 AM |
Now lots of other people are out of work. Should have just replaced him.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 28, 2017 1:49 AM |
Would it be safe to say his collapse is complete?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 28, 2017 1:55 AM |
I read gossip just last week that Piven was distraught on the set of the show two weeks ago, troubled about these allegations. Well, I guess CBS obtained more receipts and killed his show.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 28, 2017 1:56 AM |
But R3, I thought the fraus said he was straight?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 28, 2017 2:02 AM |
Apparently he's not completely straight.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 28, 2017 2:07 AM |
Piven is a major asshole. Why did they hire him in the first place? Ugh.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 28, 2017 2:20 AM |
I’d love to fuck him - I bet he’s great in bed
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 28, 2017 2:31 AM |
He is straight, a true "sex pest" indeed, and I heard last week about the upcoming cancellation from someone who worked on the show. Apparently, the production was halted some time ago because the showrunners were bracing themselves for the fallout from the dirt that they thought was going to come out.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 28, 2017 2:44 AM |
Id hate fuck him.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 28, 2017 2:45 AM |
I'd hate to fuck him.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 28, 2017 3:30 AM |
Bye, asshole!
My bf worked with him in 1995 and HATED HIM!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 28, 2017 7:50 AM |
@R5 talking like a true DLer
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 28, 2017 7:56 AM |
CBS just doesn't want to admit they picked another show that fucking sucked. Even the premise was ridiculous.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 28, 2017 8:02 AM |
My god, I thought everyone knew this guy was an asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 28, 2017 8:28 AM |
He played Harry Selfridge like an asshole. No wonder Frances O'Connor's character died so she could bail on that show.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 28, 2017 8:36 AM |
I always wondered why Ellen never had him on her show. He was a big part of her sitcom in the 90s and has plenty to promote social nice then. She's a cold fish and he's an asshole but I wonder how they relate to each other.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 28, 2017 8:44 AM |
I hate the way he talks. It's as if he is always struggling to breath and talk at the same time.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 28, 2017 8:52 AM |
Should have just replaced him.
The ratings were pretty bad. It might not have made the back nine even without the sex allegations. It just wasn't a show that captured the viewers' fancies.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 28, 2017 9:02 AM |
Wasn't the canceled show based on the solution to the Butch Sous Chef murder concept?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 28, 2017 9:24 AM |
It was a crap show anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 28, 2017 11:00 AM |
Not sad.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 28, 2017 3:59 PM |
Finally.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 28, 2017 4:24 PM |
I don’t even know who he was sex-pesting but is that where we are these days, that mere allegations are enough to make you lose your job?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 28, 2017 4:27 PM |
Believe me, *everyone* in the business knew those were not mere allegations. Even the jaded Hollywood people knew this asshole was a fucking sexual harassment case waiting to happen. I'm honestly surprised they tolerated him this long considering that he's never been particularly discreet and his prey included a lot of women who are non-Hollywood.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 28, 2017 9:42 PM |
Remember when he was on Ellen's show in the 90's and was balding?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 28, 2017 10:26 PM |
Has anyone fucked him when he wasn't wearing the toupee?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 28, 2017 10:31 PM |
In one episode of that one-season John Stamos sitcom ‘Grandfathered’, a douchebag character says “Piven’s cool/Piven’s a friend” as a throwaway gag. Food for thought.

How was the sushi?

Only women should be allowed to have TV shows, or serve in Congress, or run companies, or do anything.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 29, 2017 1:19 AM |
Does anyone know how old Cassidy Freeman was when she was allegedly harassed by him? She said she was "far too young", which suggests she was a minor.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | December 3, 2017 9:01 PM |
A woman told me a couple years ago he cornered her and grabbed at her on the set of "Entourage" - the TV show. I keep waiting to see if she will come forward, but I doubt it since she was pretty embarrassed by it.
The actors insisted that all the stand-ins on the movie were female, since there was too much male energy on set. The crew members took on the douchey attitude and behavior as the cast, and it was the most aggro, harrassment-heavy set in town. It would never last more than a season today.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | December 3, 2017 9:07 PM |
I watched the first episode of this new series. The show was going to be quickly cancelled with or without Piven's history.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | December 3, 2017 9:08 PM |
always struggling to breath and talk at the same time
This is a serious problem and should not be the object of humor.

I think the only think we've learned from OP's link is that ew.com isn't a reliable news source. My advice avoid any article that isn't sourced and is most speculation. Like this one.

I was wondering the same thing, I didn't even know he had a show.

Yup.

I'm not sure why R39 is saying this is speculation.
Wisdom of the Crowd, CBS’s poorly titled Sunday night crime procedural, has effectively been canceled. All of the 13 episodes originally ordered by CBS will air, according to TV Line, but CBS declined a back-nine order for additional episodes. Sources told TV Line that no additional episodes would be ordered.
It should be noted that Wisdom of the Crowd wasn’t breaking any ratings records. It premiered on Oct. 1 to 8.8 million total viewers and a 1.3 rating, but went fractional in the demo with its fifth episode. To date, it is averaging 7.4 million viewers and a 1.0 demo rating. Among CBS dramas, it only outrates Scorpion and MacGyver (both averaging 0.8 this fall) and fellow Sunday series Madam Secretary (0.7).
CBS has made a back order decision on its last remaining new fall series, opting not to pick up additional episodes of drama Wisdom of the Crowd.
The crime drama is slated to wrap production on its 13-episode original order in mid-December. Nine of them already have aired. For now, the plan is for the remaining four to continue to air in the series’ Sunday slot.

About two weeks ago it was reported that he passed three lie detector tests after the accusations.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | December 3, 2017 9:48 PM |
"Sex pest" what a great description
by Anonymous | reply 45 | December 3, 2017 9:53 PM |
Sorry I was not available to replace him for the rest of the series. Thus the cancellation
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 3, 2017 10:01 PM |
Remember when he bailed on Broadway's "Speed the Plow," claiming to have mercury poison from too much sushi?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 3, 2017 10:18 PM |
But it had such a great premise!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 3, 2017 10:21 PM |
this show sucked. I think there was another series with similar story line. think it was on fox and quickly cancelled.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | December 3, 2017 10:24 PM |
Cynthia Erivo made a guest appearance on Mr. Selfridge. I wonder if she's going to take to Twitter and spill what she knows?

Even better, they both were preceeded by "Captain Midnight" in 1954.
Captain Midnight was a daring, jut-jawed war hero who led a mysterious government group known as the Secret Squadron. Midnight, his comic sidekick Icky, and the rest of the Squadron traveled around the globe stomping out evil.
When the Captain needed some commie spy followed he would broadcast a coded message (decoder available by sending in Ovaltine tops) to ten year old boys and girls on their bikes. And now Piven does it by smartphone.

He’s a total douche but I’d love to see his hairy hole.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | December 3, 2017 10:41 PM |
About two weeks ago it was reported that he passed three lie detector tests after the accusations.
Yes, it was reported by an absolutely legitimate news source that also prints headlines like "Paris Hilton and Chris Zylka Spend Koala-ty Time Together At Zoo" and "Jean-Claude Van Damme and Green Power Ranger Throw Down After Decades-Long Beef." [italicThe Blaze[/italic] would definitely be my preference for clearing my name over news outlets like the NYT, Vanity Fair or People magazine.

Does anyone else remember when Jerry Seinfeld wanted to lie on a polygraph test and say he had never watched "Melrose Place."
Just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | December 3, 2017 10:46 PM |
R40 and R41 - I wrote the ew.com story was not sourced and speculation. Read the story. Let me help you. The first sentence:
You don’t need a complicated crowdsourcing algorithm to have predicted this one.
Then it goes on to tie the allegations against Piven to the cancellation without a single source. They even bring into question their own speculation by noting the problematic ratings.
They didn't even site a source for the cancellation.

I thought it was Jeremy Renner who there were gay rumours about not Jeremy Piven?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | December 5, 2017 9:03 PM |
It was just a Jeremy, blatantly propositioning a guy at a party in New York. People assumed it was Renner, even though he's a West Coast guy. Could have been him, Piven, Miller, Irons, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | December 6, 2017 12:43 AM |
It's a bit far-fetched, but I like the premise of the show. CBS could make a winner out of it by killing off Priven's character, his bitchy bug-eyed girlfriend, and Tariq. Bring in decent characters who aren't condescending SJWs, and they might have a hit makeover like The Practice in its final season.
