R&B singer Craig David opens up about rumors surrounding his sexuality
“I leave it very open because at the end of the day it’s one of those things where I shouldn’t have to reinforce and state, ‘No, I’m a heterosexual’ — because that’s all nonsense.
I think it’s very evident in the way my songs are and how I speak about relationships so I wouldn’t even go into it. It’s like if that’s what you feel it’s what you feel.”

That means he's a gay. AIDS cut his success short.

Obviously gay - look at those over-sculpted eyebrows!

Wow, a has-been going on 17 years. Slow news day.

“I leave it very open ...” Oh honey, I bet you do.

He was supposed to be the next big thing in R&B a decade or so ago. I can't tell you anything about his music. He definitely could be HIV+ with the wasted face.

"World Filled With Love" from the December 2003 Gap In-Store Playlist is one of Craig David's many songs played in Gap stores in 2002-2003.

He was a very handsome man back in the day. He is no slouch now but he isn't as handsome as he once was.

he was huge for a year and an half and then literally vanished.

"Fill Me In" is great. I bought the whole CD based on that track but the rest was just 'meh'

He and Ms. Dynamite were supposed to be the EVERYTHING years ago.
No one is checking for either of them these days.

I recognize him now. Yeah, he looks wasty in OP’s pic...

He was the Alicia Keys/Joss Stone of the early 00's in British soul music.
Everywhere and then Nowhere.

Never realized this, but it seems like Justin Timberlake from 2003 through 2006 was very much the white Craig David. And I never noticed how gay Craig's eyebrows were.

Just gonna...leave this here.

I like his music. Nice voice, good looking guy. But he really overdid it with the exercising. The no-fat objective makes him look sickly.

Now that Bo Selecta is cancelled, he should be feeling pretty good.

Who the hell is Bo Selecta?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 11, 2020 4:37 PM

Bo Selecta had a show in the UK where he impersonated Craig David and, for awhile, David was kind of a laughing stock and wasn't taken seriously. The last few years, David has been able to return to the charts successfully.

The aggressively heterosexual "Walking Away" is on the August 2002 Gap In-Store Playlist!

R15 is right. He had a big "moment" and then it all went away. Not unusual though - for a musician to have one big album and that's it. I didn't really think he was anything special.
What's with his word salad? "I just want to clear things up by obfuscating things even more." No body cares, Craig. If you're gay, fine. If not, fine.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 18, 2020 11:53 PM
|
When you won't admit you're gay or go through all the mental and word salad gymnastics to avoid it or say things like 'you don't like labels, etc.,' then it just means you're gay and still in the closet. It's exhausting.

When the Shows The World Forgot thread fills we can do one on singers and Craig can be #1... for once.

Considering he’s not been relevant in 20 years, coming out would actually get him some much needed publicity.

[quote]R&B singer Craig David opens up about rumors surrounding his sexuality
This commonly used, dishonest headline always guarantees that the person "opening up" is not, in fact, opening up.

It’s known that he has hooked up with men. But his dad is Afro-Caribbean from the Grenadines, most likely vehemently homophobic.
