Ezra Miller: I Was Told I 'Made A Mistake' By Coming Out!

So many of these Hollywood execs are big fakes pretending to be liberals. Wonder how many of them have received LGBT awards?

They want gay actors to stay in the closet. Makes them easier to harass AND control.

Perez Hilton:

n 2012 Ezra came out as queer to nothing but praise — or so we thought. In a new profile in Shortlist, the big screen Barry Allen reveals that brave choice was questioned by people he knew both in and out of Hollywood.

The revelation came when Ezra was asked if he felt more pressure for representing a community. He responded:

"I don't feel pressure. Pressure would only come from a dam, or a block. And when I came out I took the block away, removed the dam. I've undammed my identity in the world. I was told, when I gave that interview… This is an interesting thing to talk about. I was told by a lot of people I'd made a mistake."

By whom?? He won't say specifically, but a LOT of people:

"Folks in the industry, folks outside the industry. People I've never spoken to. They said there's a reason so many gay, queer, gender-fluid people in Hollywood conceal their sexual identity, or their gender identity in their public image. I was told I had done a ‘silly' thing in… thwarting my own potential to be a leading man… I was given a lot of stern talking-tos."

He came out as what, exactly? A straight dude who did something with another boy when he was 14?

by Anonymousreply 1November 8, 2017 8:55 PM

Coming out as unwashed is quite brave.

by Anonymousreply 2November 8, 2017 8:56 PM

who?

by Anonymousreply 3November 8, 2017 8:57 PM

what a very unusual face this young man has.

it is as unusual as Jack Palance or that little Vietnamese-looking twerp from last week.

He won't have a long career because he'll be impossible to groom soon

by Anonymousreply 4November 8, 2017 9:00 PM

He identifies as queer, not straight r1. Still a big deal for a guy in Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 5November 8, 2017 9:06 PM

WTF is queer again exactly?

by Anonymousreply 6November 8, 2017 9:07 PM

r5 He's made clear he prefers women and that his "sexual experiences" with other males were limited to a brief period in his teens. I don't find that remotely a big deal, even for Hollywood.

And queer is a general term, which means gay, bi, or trans. Ezra is none of those things, so he isn't queer either.

by Anonymousreply 7November 8, 2017 9:10 PM

Uhm, he’s sexually fluid” not gay or bi.

by Anonymousreply 8November 8, 2017 9:13 PM

He clearly is sexually fluid, which absolutely isn't under the queer umbrella.

by Anonymousreply 9November 8, 2017 9:15 PM

We've got every scruffy, loony Tom Dick and Harry claiming to be LGBTQ nowadays.

And, frankly, I wish they'd go away.

by Anonymousreply 10November 8, 2017 9:16 PM

He kissed some guy at Comic Con not long ago on a TMZ video or something. It was hardly more than a peck on the lips but the comments on YouTube were mostly homophobic psychos swearing off of his version of The Flash because of it. Even being vaguely "queer" will get you shit on, so it probably will impact his career.

by Anonymousreply 11November 8, 2017 9:25 PM

It was a mistake, because he didn't actually come out but still has to answer questions like he did.

by Anonymousreply 12November 8, 2017 9:29 PM

Youtube commenters are fore the most part Nazi virgins. What happens there isn't reflective of real life.

by Anonymousreply 13November 8, 2017 9:29 PM

R13 Did you say "real" life. This thread is about a little nobody who works in the FANTASY industry

by Anonymousreply 14November 8, 2017 9:41 PM

He is bi on the gay spectrum because no straight guy will be that comfortable in makeup and women clothing.

Is that our next President, R17?

by Anonymousreply 18November 8, 2017 9:51 PM

He casually drops a story about a guy he made out with recently in this same interview r1. He isn't trying to pretend like his interest with men is in the past.

by Anonymousreply 19November 9, 2017 11:01 PM

r19 Yeah, call me when he gets his cherry popped by a guy. As a reasonably famous actor, he has plenty of opportunities to be with men if he has any desire to. "Made out with a guy" doesn't make him gay or bi or queer.

by Anonymousreply 20November 9, 2017 11:10 PM

He is so cool. If he wasn't in movies I'd go see what he does. I'm so sick of movies. Cool actor, though.

by Anonymousreply 21November 9, 2017 11:11 PM

R19 - hardly "made out"
“Someone told me, while I was there, that there was a volcano, so we visited it. He said it could explode at any moment, and we’d all be underwater in an instant. And then… he kissed me?” He looks out the window, thinking. “It was a very good trick.”

So a guy has to trick him to kiss him. Anyway, if anyone wants to read it the actual interview is below. A warning - he's incredibly pretentious, so you will roll your eyes multiple times

by Anonymousreply 22November 9, 2017 11:16 PM

Oh dear. You think that hole hasn't been popped? Obviously he has had plenty of sex with men. It goes along with the whole he is not straight thing.

Idk, I don't get your anger over this. He is more open about it than most guys would be in his position.

by Anonymousreply 23November 9, 2017 11:16 PM

I'm not who you were replying to R23, but I think this quote from the interview sums it up well
And then, in 2012, he came out in an interview with Out magazine. He identifies as queer – the broader, umbrella term within the LGBTQ community that could translate as ‘everything but straight’. Miller has dated “plenty” of women, but he kisses boys atop volcanic rock. Sometimes he spans the entire spectrum, sometimes he doesn’t. Queer is the term he uses, so that’s the term we use, too.

I honestly don't think he has any attraction to men, he just thinks calling himself queer makes him sound cool. Read the interview, it's obvious he isn't anywhere as deep as he likes to think he is.

by Anonymousreply 24November 9, 2017 11:19 PM

Disagree, I don't think he is faking at all. I completely believe he sleeps with guys in his private life, I mean there are some DL stories about guys he has slept with if you believe it.
it's obvious he isn't anywhere as deep as he likes to think he is.

Here we are in complete agreement. Pretentious psychobabble crap that is meant to sound profound but never does.

by Anonymousreply 25November 9, 2017 11:22 PM

He is literally the only young actor with a major part in a franchise who publicly identifies as something other than "straight", and people here shit on him for it because he hasn't provided us with a list of dicks he has sat on. Pathetic.

by Anonymousreply 26November 9, 2017 11:24 PM
who publicly identifies as something other than "straight"

That's the problem though - he doesn't identify as gay or bi, instead it's this bullshit "queer" thing which doesn't even have an agreed-upon meaning and just became a thing because hipsters wanted to seem unique.

by Anonymousreply 27November 9, 2017 11:27 PM
the only young actor with a major part in a franchise who publicly identifies as something other than "straight",

That doesn't sound true.

by Anonymousreply 28November 9, 2017 11:29 PM

That volcano story was made up of course, so as far as we know, his number of homosexual contacts as an adult is zero.

by Anonymousreply 29November 9, 2017 11:30 PM

"We're here, we're queer, get used to it"

"New Queer Cinema"

"Queercore"

"Queer" ( as a non-slur) has been a thing for ages; it's just a handy, better-sounding way of saying "LGBT+". I don't get why people here (and nb: [italic]only[/italic] here) lose their shit over it.

by Anonymousreply 30November 9, 2017 11:32 PM

But he's not queer either. Queer means gay, bi, or trans. This man is neither.

by Anonymousreply 31November 9, 2017 11:33 PM
That's the problem though - he doesn't identify as gay or bi, instead it's this bullshit "queer" thing which doesn't even have an agreed-upon meaning and just became a thing because hipsters wanted to seem unique.

Better "queer" than straight.

Tom Hardy admitted to having sex with men (which he regrets saying), but insists he is straight and don't you do dare call him anything else.

James Franco is obviously bisexual and will even make a million gay movies, but dammit he is straight and will not admit to anything else in public.

Idk, I won't hate on queer. Any male celebrity that rejects the straight label is a win.

by Anonymousreply 32November 9, 2017 11:33 PM
Better "queer" than straight.

I'm not sure I agree, I think the examples you cited are as bad as Ezra claiming to be queer whilst pointing out he's been with "plenty of women" but never talking about men he's been with. Apart from the guy who tricked him to kiss him.

by Anonymousreply 33November 9, 2017 11:35 PM

He did tell the story of how the first guy he was involved with turned on him.
then the best friend he fooled around with turned on him. “He had some macho realization that led him to believe that I was the problem. So I went from having a stutter to being a totally gay little opera singer to being, like, a really confused queer adolescent.”

by Anonymousreply 34November 9, 2017 11:51 PM

According to someone in the Justice League thread they see the Flash as the breakout character and the solo Flash film is a priority - how the hell is Ezra going to manage doing a solo press tour without alienating everyone in the audience with his pretentious bullshit?

by Anonymousreply 41November 10, 2017 5:05 PM

Ezra is super pretentious, and insufferable. But...his ass spectacular, isn't it? Haven't we seen it, with some nice fat balls too, in some indie movie?

by Anonymousreply 42November 11, 2017 7:09 AM
He's made clear he prefers women and that his "sexual experiences" with other males were limited to a brief period in his teens.

I don't buy this for a second. He just pings too much to me. I can't prove it, but I'd bet money he's more gay than bi. I think he's embellishing any heterosexual tendencies for his career.

by Anonymousreply 43November 11, 2017 8:10 AM

Spectacular seems an overstatement, R42. It's nice but nothing amazing

by Anonymousreply 54May 26, 2018 9:58 PM

r53 Wouldn't the shortest answer just be: "Because I'm also into pussy"? But of course, someone would then ask him if that doesn't simply make him bisexual, and the whole illusion would collapse in an instant.

r54 I don't either. Seems like bisexuality with more drama, or homosexuality with a vague possibility of experimentation with the opposite sex.

by Anonymousreply 55May 26, 2018 10:01 PM
So a guy has to trick him to kiss him. Anyway, if anyone wants to read it the actual interview is below. A warning - he's incredibly pretentious, so you will roll your eyes multiple times

Your warning should have been bigger, bolder and more conspicuously placed. My eyes are sore from having rolled so much.

by Anonymousreply 58May 27, 2018 4:21 AM

It's not politics that is motivating them - but FEAR. They fear that audience will stay away from projects with out leads.

"He's a pretentious straight hipster"

ROFLMAO, it's probably the other way around, he's probably 100% gay. Guys don't benefit from coming out as ANYTHING in the industry, that is why so many are still in the closet.

by Anonymousreply 66July 23, 2018 5:24 PM

r47 has never met a straight man, even the hippest ones don't claim to be anything other than straight. It's mostly girls who cling to the "non-binary" thing

by Anonymousreply 67July 23, 2018 5:27 PM

That interview is hilarious--like with the old-time Eurotrash celebrities trying to make an impression by being self-consciously kooky. He might as well have walked in with a cheetah on a leash.

Being the breakout star of the Justice League movie isn't necessarily something to brag about.

I was never a fan of the flash so I couldn't care less about that movie, but he was also a part of the dreck that was Fantastic Beasts. I grew up with Harry Potter, and was excited for a "prequel", only to be dissapointed.

by Anonymousreply 72September 24, 2018 9:10 PM

Is the Flash movie still happening? Development hell doesn't quite describe the amount of things that have happened with that movie, and seeing as how the entire fate of the DCEU currently rests on child actors and Jason Momoa I wouldn't hold out hope.

by Anonymousreply 73September 24, 2018 9:13 PM

Lantern jaw?

by Anonymousreply 74September 24, 2018 9:14 PM

Supposedly "The Flash" movie is still happening r73, but I'll only believe it once it actually starts production.

by Anonymousreply 75September 24, 2018 10:41 PM

I just remember a few months ago an article someone posted here about how gay parents don't want to be pigeonholed into being called "mom" or "dad". But the couple they profiled were a hipster man and woman who had a biological kid and identified as "queer" basically rendering the word meaningless and making me scratch my head as to why mom and dad were offensive terms to them.

by Anonymousreply 76September 25, 2018 12:05 AM

If he means he's queer as in weird, then yes he's queer.
