Today, this is a new story that bursts at the great day, and it is rather overwhelming. Then that all eyes turned instinctively to him as soon as we spoke with Kevin Spacey, a user by the name of Justin Smith has unveiled in a series of tweets (erased from) the experience with the director, collected by the site The Daily Wire, which we will offer a transcript compiled into a single message for readability. Attention however, some of the remarks may offend the more sensitive among you :

You can't use an NDA to stop someone from reporting a crime. The commission of a crime isn't information that you are legitimately entitled to keep "confidential." I suspect that a lot of NDAs used in the entertainment industry are invalid, but people who are compelled to sign them don't have the resources to fight.

Following on what R11 just said, can an NDA be legally binding if what you’re not disclosing is a criminal offense?

Also, could a series of NDAs used by one person in situations like this be considered part of an ongoing criminal conspiracy and as such throw the statute of limitations out the window?

You can't waive or extend the statute of limitations for a crime -- that violates the Constitution. I don't know about a charge based on the systemic abuse of NDAs; any charge would have to be a part of some broader criminal conspiracy. But, no, you can't contractually agree not to disclose a crime.

Buzzfeed tracked down Marc Collins-Rector - now going by plain Mark Collins - in 2014. This is an excellent piece of investigative reporting with multiple links to Brock Pierce's and Collins-Rector's trial and deposition transcripts.

Pierce repeatedly told police that David Geffen was trying to kill Collins-Rector.

Pierce later recanted. And is now a very very rich man. Collins-Rector is meanwhile impoverished, disabled, jobless and living alone in exile in Antwerp.

Bryan Singer is back in the spotlight as a new man accuses him of sexual assault while he was a young teenager. Justin Smith alleges that Singer penetrated his anus with a finger at a party they both attended in Hollywood.
