Bryan Singer Must Have the Busiest Lawyer in Hollywood

A Jewish blogger's thoughts on Singer.

Tikun Olam:

Bryan Singer Must Have the Busiest Lawyer in Hollywood

I don’t usually write about Hollywood “affairs” unless they relate to Israel. But I am always intrigued by censorship and the cold, brutal hand of the censor, where they’re in Israel or Hollywood. And tonight director Bryan Singer’s lawyers are working overtime rooting out all online/media evidence of the latest charges against him involving molestation of young boys. In fact, Singer is a lawyer’s dream client providing permanent employment to shield him from his alleged vices and their exposure.

Numerous stories were published over the past few days after an alleged victim named Justin N. Smith published a series of tweets saying that Singer engaged in illicit sexual activities with him when he was a teenager.

Either Twitter or Smith himself removed his account. It also looks like Bryan Singer has removed his own Twitter account. I can imagine why given the vitriol I’ve read in the tweets Twitter has taken down (possibly under pressure from Singer). Yahoo News, which first published the tweets, also removed its story. And other media outlets which followed on the Yahoo News reports also deleted their stories. No one has explained their editorial self-censorship.

There are a few brave holdouts. But most of them refer only obliquely to the current charges and focus their attention on numerous previous lawsuits, charges and unflattering media profiles of Singer and his sexual peccadilloes. The Dailywire’s is the sole remaining source which retains the charges by Smith in full. Kudos to brave editors there who haven’t been cowed by the Singer legal team. Our source for an aggregated story published about ‘X-Men’ director Bryan Singer, was Yahoo News. When they took their story down we removed ours, too, as we could not independently confirm the sources originally cited.

I’ve managed to retrieve the censored article from the dustbin of internet history.

Before Singer’s lawyers come after me as well, I should add that no one has authenticated the claims made by Justin Smith. Singer has never been charged with committing a crime in this case. But I am charging the former with suppression of free speech and public debate about very serious charges that affect all of American society. While I cannot say whether Singer is innocent or guilty of charges levelled against him now and in the past, I can say that his intense, unremitting campaign to rid the web of articles about his alleged sexual escapades reek of the bullying typical of predators. I should add that numerous previous charges by young male actors against him were either dropped or lawsuits were dismissed. Since Singer’s lawyers have possibly pressured complainants into signing non-disclosure agreements in return for financial settlements, the alleged victims may no longer freely discuss what Singer did to them. This is the same toxic pattern that Harvey Weinstein followed which allowed him to rape and abuse scores of women over a thirty-year period...

The Sherbrooke Times:

After Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein, Bryan Singer again in the line of fire?

Today, this is a new story that bursts at the great day, and it is rather overwhelming. Then that all eyes turned instinctively to him as soon as we spoke with Kevin Spacey, a user by the name of Justin Smith has unveiled in a series of tweets (erased from) the experience with the director, collected by the site The Daily Wire, which we will offer a transcript compiled into a single message for readability. Attention however, some of the remarks may offend the more sensitive among you :

“I met Bryan Singer in 2000. My boyfriend was one of his best friends and so I saw him regularly. The first time I saw it, I knew he was working up to something. It is me dragging all the time, asking me constantly to show him my penis or my buttocks. When I talked to my boyfriend he just told me that “Bryan becomes very playful when he is drugged.” On my insistence, we stopped to go to him, but we went anyway to his feasts. It was more or less a band around him.

There was always him, plus 2 or 3 other men between 50 and 70 years of age, he presented them as producers, which was no doubt in substance, but kept still their shirt and their pants. And there were at least 5 young men. Sometimes 10. Or should I say boys, because they had not more than 16 or 17 years old.

by Anonymousreply 411/06/2017

HIs money making won't protect him forever. Another "open secret" needing the full spotlight on it.

by Anonymousreply 511/06/2017

Deleting his social media presence was a preemptive strike to prevent his social media presence being bombarded with questions and further accusations of his criminal ways. When these questions and accusations are posted on other social media accounts and sites they can be deleted, because they don't "belong" there.

by Anonymousreply 611/06/2017

Yahoo buckled and deleted its original Bryan Singer story. Looks like Yahoo is now taking a different lawyer-approved approach...

Yahoo:

The number of powerful Hollywood men accused of sexual assault is seemingly never-ending: Kevin Spacey, James Toback, Dustin Hoffman, and Brett Ratner, just to name a few.

Perhaps the worst part about these accusations is how long it took for them to reach the public when in the Hollywood circle, they were never really a secret at all. After the Weinstein accusations came to light, some of the most prominent actors and actresses in the business basically said, “uh, yeah, everyone pretty much knew about this.”

Don’t worry, it gets worse.

In 2013, Corey Feldman revealed information about a Hollywood pedophile ring in an appearance on The View. “You’re damaging an entire industry,” Barbara Walters told him. Only, he didn’t. The media all but brushed off Feldman’s claims.

In 2014, director Amy Berg released An Open Secret, a compelling (and horrifying) look into the world of child actors. The documentary featured former child stars who opened up about the types of sexual abuse they encountered throughout their time in Hollywood...

In the wake of the many Hollywood men finally being called out and losing their jobs for their predatory and unacceptable behavior, let’s look into what happened to the Hollywood men accused of child sexual abuse in An Open Secret.

1. Marc Collins-Rector 2. Brock Pierce 3. Bryan Singer 4. Brian Peck 5. Michael Harrah 6. Bob Villard 7. Martin “Marty” Weiss

Screen Rant:

Jessica Chastain Talks Sexual Harassment, Calls Out Bryan Singer

When it comes to these cases, Singer’s is somewhat tricky. He was accused in 1997 of asking underage cast members to shower on his film Apt Pupil, but the lawsuit was dismissed. Singer was again sued, two separate times, in 2014, by different men, although both cases were eventually dropped. Whispers continue to persist, however. Singer has continued to work in the meantime; he is currently directing Bohemian Rhapsody, the long-in-the-works biopic of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.

The truth about the Singer allegations remains unknown, although it’s likely that multiple reporters are chasing down the story as we speak. As for Chastain, just as it’s unfair to blame victims in cases of abuse, it’s not fair either to scour the IMDB pages of those who are outspoken about the issue, to see which alleged abusers they’ve worked with. Besides, isn’t calling out alleged misdeeds by the producer of your movie more honorable than not doing so?

by Anonymousreply 811/06/2017

[quote]Besides, isn’t calling out alleged misdeeds by the producer of your movie more honorable than not doing so?

This ignored the obvious solution: choose not to work with them in the first place.

This is how Harvey got away with it for so long.

I worked with Singer and Grasham. Both of them are creepy, creepy people. I'm all for looking at a younger guy, but I don't exclusively surround myself with them. Singer had these creepy parties with twinks, twinks and more twinks.

It really is a sickness. And I think it would be much more widespread, just Singer is the perfect position of having money and a door to fame that is like catnip for every wannabe actor/singer/dancer/model that comes to LA. Grasham was much more blatant about it, and he didn't have the money.

by Anonymousreply 1011/06/2017

If the kids were minors, how could an NDA be be legally binding? If abuse did occur, does an NDA protect the abuser from the law? Ok, DL lawyers tell us how this works.

by Anonymousreply 1111/06/2017

You can't use an NDA to stop someone from reporting a crime. The commission of a crime isn't information that you are legitimately entitled to keep "confidential." I suspect that a lot of NDAs used in the entertainment industry are invalid, but people who are compelled to sign them don't have the resources to fight.

by Anonymousreply 1211/06/2017

Following on what R11 just said, can an NDA be legally binding if what you’re not disclosing is a criminal offense?

Also, could a series of NDAs used by one person in situations like this be considered part of an ongoing criminal conspiracy and as such throw the statute of limitations out the window?

by Anonymousreply 1311/06/2017

You can't waive or extend the statute of limitations for a crime -- that violates the Constitution. I don't know about a charge based on the systemic abuse of NDAs; any charge would have to be a part of some broader criminal conspiracy. But, no, you can't contractually agree not to disclose a crime.

This sick bastard needs to go down.

[quote]Singer had these creepy parties with twinks, twinks and more twinks.

[quote]If the kids were minors, how could an NDA be be legally binding? If abuse did occur, does an NDA protect the abuser from the law? Ok, DL lawyers tell us how this works.

It's not about the legality of the NDAs. It's about ruining your career in Hollywood and in other profession when you tittle tattle and rat these superior movers and shakers out (and that's how these Hollywood see it it).

Buzzfeed tracked down Marc Collins-Rector - now going by plain Mark Collins - in 2014. This is an excellent piece of investigative reporting with multiple links to Brock Pierce's and Collins-Rector's trial and deposition transcripts.

Pierce repeatedly told police that David Geffen was trying to kill Collins-Rector.

Pierce later recanted. And is now a very very rich man. Collins-Rector is meanwhile impoverished, disabled, jobless and living alone in exile in Antwerp.

by Anonymousreply 1811/06/2017

[quote]the strangest twist in this strange story is why Collins-Rector fled the country in the first place: He believed that Geffen, his investor and one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, wanted to destroy him.

[quote]Geffen’s attorney, Bertram Fields, forcefully denied Pierce’s original allegations, calling them “provably false” and “highly defamatory.” The co-founder of the famous DreamWorks movie studio “never threatened Collins-Rector in any way or suggested he leave DEN,” and he made no offer to buy DEN, Fields wrote. On multiple occasions, Fields threatened to sue BuzzFeed and its reporters, one time writing, “Should BuzzFeed report any such damaging lies about Mr. Geffen, we will file a civil action against you, your company and anyone else associated with the story.”

[quote]Collins-Rector, Shackley, and Pierce were in Florida living on a private island off Miami Beach. With them was 18-year-old Alexander Burton, a childhood friend of Pierce who had played Pyro in Singer’s first X-Men movie. According to a deposition by Pierce, he, Shackley, and Collins-Rector began to suspect that Burton was a mole in their midst. In his 2003 deposition, Pierce said that Shackley started tracking Burton’s computer activity and found that Burton had been sending emails to Geffen. Burton, Pierce alleged in his deposition, was paid by Geffen “to spy and collect information, and to steal faxes out of the fax machine, and send this information to him.”In his deposition, Pierce described how Collins-Rector had repeatedly refused Geffen’s offers to buy the firm [DEN]. Geffen, Pierce said, responded: “I’m going to take your business whether you like it or not.”

by Anonymousreply 1911/06/2017

test

by Anonymousreply 2011/06/2017

[quote]Burton said, "I don’t remember ever telling Geffen much information at all. I only talked to him a few times over email.

So one of Brock Pierce's childhood friends just happened to have David Geffen's email address and just happened to email him info about the twink abusers Geffen used to party with. Nothing odd there.

by Anonymousreply 2111/06/2017

[quote]According to Pierce’s deposition, Burton left the house yelling that he would be at David Geffen’s, and they were “going to regret the day” they met him. Pierce has since backed away from that sworn statement, telling BuzzFeed that he “never actually heard Alex Burton make that statement.” In his deposition, Pierce said that Collins-Rector wanted to protect his assets from Geffen. Collins-Rector, Pierce stated, feared that Geffen wanted to kill him. “I thought it was a very serious threat, but I didn’t think it was as serious as Marc thought,” Pierce said in the deposition. “Marc thought Geffen was going to kill him, but I thought maybe, but unlikely.” Geffen “never threatened Collins-Rector in any way,” Geffen’s lawyer wrote.

This is not about DEN it's about Collins-Rector, Pierce and Shackley having blackmail material on Geffen.

by Anonymousreply 2211/06/2017

And that the concept of Geffen having people killed apparently didn't seem ludicrous to them.

Geffen needs to be brought down as well. What a scumbag. He liked underage twinks that much when he could get any gay cock he wanted? What a queen with low self esteem.

by Anonymousreply 2611/06/2017

Aren't NDA's slightly different in the UK, which also has very stringent litigation laws? And is Singer still in London?

by Anonymousreply 2711/06/2017

They come as a pair - Singer himself wouldn't have the power that he seems to have, so it's obvious someone else is protecting him. If Singer falls, then whoever that is - and it is most likely Geffen - falls with him.

by Anonymousreply 2811/06/2017

To complicate matters, Alexander Burton - Geffen's twink friend - later went on to sue Collins-Rector for assault.

Collins-Rector is a cunt, but I'm thinking Geffen got Burton and Egan to sue to destroy Collins-Rector because C-R has blackmail material on Geffen and Singer.

From LSA

[quote]Here's some tea on director Gus Van Sant. He is going to be 61 this July and he is getting it in with young boys who have come to L.A for a come up. Case in point: he got it in with Skyler Taylor, a young guy from Texas who apparently ran away from Houston this past spring after getting into issues with his family and ex gf. What is he doing now? He is a cam model on cam4.com, where he is filmed wanking off to loud techno music and pretending to sing to it. In return, people (mostly men) tip him. He is also an escort as well. Gus Van Sant preyed upon him real quick and got him basically right after he arrived in L.A (see photo). He is also a cyber-playtoy to Bryan Singer, director of X-Men.

by Anonymousreply 3711/06/2017

[quote]Bryan goes through different boys each week. He promises them big movie roles and then just drops them. Bryan also certifiably has a thing for young twins. A pair live in his house and I have more pics of him with some other twins... but aside from that it's interesting to note that Shawn Ashmore (Ice Man from X-Men) has a twin brother named Aaron and his brother wrote a blog post and described that he use to live in Bryan Singer's house [the Ashmore twins in picture]So while I have no proof that Bryan dated them, you should be able to put two and two together. Of course they are way too old for him now. Just like Bryan Singer dropped Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty after they became too old and Superman Returns bombed. What, did you think a 24 year old Dan Harris became the writer of X-Men 2 based solely on narrative talent?

Jeez, the twinks B.S. goes for are the Oxford dictionary definition of 'Meh'. The Entin twins are the only ones that are borderline interesting, but still pretty pedestrian. All that money and director's power and he can't get himself some truly premium-class, jaw-dropping public arm-candy?

If he likes 'em barely legal, he should take lessons from director Sam Taylor-Wood. She managed to rope in the 18-year-old Aaron, despite being 24 years older and very unimpressive in the looks department.

Now THAT's how you chickenhawk!

by Anonymousreply 4611/06/2017

Chickenhawks have a different aesthetic in mind than, say, guys who are into muscle jocks. And awkward looking kids are so much more appreciative when some Hollywood bigshot is interested in them and shows them all the cools stuff and introduces them to all the cool celebrities.

[quote]how is that a nobody like Rapp could bring Spacey down with just one accusation, yet an A Lister like Jessica Chastain can't do the same for Bryan Singer and his pedophile ring?

Because Singer is still making a lot of money for a lot of people. Spacey was basically a spent force even before this all came out; House of Cards would have ended anyway at the end of the next season and Netflix jumped at the chance at dropping it.

by Anonymousreply 6111/06/2017

And it's true, too:

by Anonymousreply 6211/06/2017

Spacey did not have the back-up Singer has. I would guess that's why he left the US and went to England where he did all the workshop and theatre business (Old Vic). Netflix is still considered the odd man out in Hollywood and I guess they don't have the kind of fixer system in place to make that kind of scandals go away quickly or prevent these scandals from happening. I would also guess they were suprised that the outrage over the Weinstein scandal would expand and blow off the lid of gay, assaulting minors cases like Spacey. Only after the Spacey scandal was at its peak the Singer team circled the wagons. So the Singer team may have had a bit of an advantage over the Spacey team.

More sexual assault charges lobbed at Bryan Singer

Bryan Singer is back in the spotlight as a new man accuses him of sexual assault while he was a young teenager. Justin Smith alleges that Singer penetrated his anus with a finger at a party they both attended in Hollywood.

Singer has previously been accused of sexually assaulting teenagers. In 1997 he was accused of asking a 14-year-old and other minors to film a nude scene in Apt Pupil; a lawsuit over the incident was dismissed for lack of evidence. Two other accusations that Singer assaulted other young men were also dismissed.

In a since deleted series of tweets, Smith lays out a story of Singer’s behavior around Hollywood and his specific experiences with the famous producer and director. Smith’s allegations follow similar statements from Real O’Neals star Noah Galvin who said Singer “likes to invite little boys over to his pool and diddle them in the fucking dark of night.”

Since Harvey Weinstein was called out for his allegedly disgusting ways, we’ve seen a domino effect in the City of Angels. Recently, Kevin Spacey came out of the closet as homosexual after his allegations. Now, the latest Hollywood hotshot to be called out with sexual assault allegations…again – and again – and again – is X-Men Director, Bryan Singer. Singer has fallen to many sexual allegations over the years which led to Evan Rachel Wood to release a since-deleted-tweet stating: “Let’s not forget about Brian [sic] Singer either”.

From Popbitch UK >> Rhapsody in blew << Singer's sudden stagefright

Ever since it was first announced back in 2010, the Freddie Mercury biopic has been an endless string of problems. It's been through so many actors, directors and drafts of the script that you'd think the thing was cursed.

Yet just when it looked as if things might finally be coming together, something very strange appears to have come over the film's current director, Bryan Singer. Word from the set is that he's having fairly regular breakdowns and has been going MIA so frequently that the production keeps getting shut down.

What on earth could have happened in the last few weeks that might be causing famous Hollywood director Bryan Singer such consternation, we wonder?

Surely nothing that could bring the entire project to its knees?

by Anonymousreply 7611/09/2017

Popbitch has a very good record with its gossip turning out to be true. I'm glad to hear that Singer is stressed - shows that he doesn't feel invincible, which he pretty much has been up until now. That, combined with the people speaking out - like Chastain - really makes me think something big is coming.

R76 I just read this edition of Popbitch and was coming here to post that. Great minds and all...

Singer must be shitting his pants wondering who's out there, who might talk. I do think he got spooked by the DEN scandal and started carding the boys but there's so, so much out there that could bring him down.

Here's Michael Huffington and his pet pass around Entin Twins

by Anonymousreply 8811/10/2017
by Anonymousreply 8911/10/2017

I think the kid at R44 is the kid at R37 - Skyler Taylor who was passed from Gus Van Sant to Singer.

by Anonymousreply 9011/11/2017

That picture at R88 is GROSS!

by Anonymousreply 9111/11/2017

^ditto R89. Piggy pedo eyes Bryan.

by Anonymousreply 9211/11/2017

Entin twins held this guy down for Singer to assault him

by Anonymousreply 9311/11/2017

Christopher Chase, if you are a DLer : WELL DONE.

by Anonymousreply 9411/11/2017

This thread has started a #entintwins trend on twitter.

WeHo Confidential creepy ...

[quote]We wonder what our favorite ducklings will be getting from daddy [Singer] this year? How about the child they've been wanting ?

by Anonymousreply 9711/11/2017

WHC comment from 2011

[quote]Join US this Week for an all New Episode of Vampire Ducklings, where the Dingleberry Twins come up from that Rock (hard cock) they have Been under, Buymen Swinger!

by Anonymousreply 9811/11/2017

[quote]these are the two biggest pieces of shit in west hollywood. Bryan singer pays for everything, rent, food, entertainment, flights. its really disgusting. That i can live with but they are just rude, mean and stuck up little shits who arent even attractive. They walk around at 5'nothing thinking they are somebodys. they are just not good people. Sluts Sluts Sluts

[quote]They are disgusting, mean and horrid. An they are really cruel.

[quote]It's simple, the only reason people speak to them is because they are best friends with that pervert Singer an that they are HIS boys.

by Anonymousreply 9911/11/2017

[quote]To the guy that said "Bryan helps them out, who cares". Bryan Singer is not helping anyone out but himself. What he is doing is buying people and using them and then spitting them out. Owning and possessing people is not helping them out. What Bryan is doing is the opposite of helping people out. He's using and manipulating people. The person that made the comment is probably one of Bryan's entourage or desperately wants to be purchased himself by Bryan. Bryan has left behind a wasteland of boys that he had helped out!

[quote]Bryan Singer is a predator! He preys on young boys and offers them money, status, good time, and fame in exchange for sex and to do with whatever Bryan wants them to do. It's a pathetic existence. It's harming these poor boys even if they want to be bought by Bryan. Just because boys want to be taken advantage of doesn't mean it's okay to take advantage of them. When Bryan gets bored of them or hotter boys come on the scene, he will discard them like a used tissue. What's more sad is that Bryan Singer's paid entourage is used to justify his fucked up ways and suck up to him. If Bryan Singer wasn't a famous Director and had very little money, no one would want to be around him and he would be in jail.

[quote]Met them at Tigerheat like 6 months ago. Real nasty guys and such slime balls.

by Anonymousreply 10011/11/2017

[QUOTE]they are kept boys who are use like pawns in swingers sex life / i heard they even had to take turns muff diving lauren storm

I wonder if that's that commenter being snarky because that is something I could imagine that sick fuck making his boys do.

by Anonymousreply 10311/11/2017

Those Entin twin sluts have nothing on us

by Anonymousreply 10411/11/2017

Wow, good stuff. How much longer do those ugly twins have before the clock strikes midnight? What's the average shelf life for Singer's toys before he throws them in the garbage bin?

by Anonymousreply 10511/11/2017

Is whoever wrote Edmund's Wikipedia page trying to tell us something?

[QUOTE]Edmund and his brother Gary began their filming careers in the backyard of their "Uncle Michael." The house was located in Southwest Ranches, FL. They would write plots, pick out their cast from the neighborhood kids, and film movies. Currently, Edmund is living with his brother in California pursuing their dreams of becoming movie stars.

If that's how they started no wonder they rapidly fell in with Singer

by Anonymousreply 10611/11/2017

From 2013

[quote]Sadness and anger ensue in the Entin house. The twins' new film (gay high school crap) has not made it into any of the 5 major festivals it has entered. The two "filmmakers" are furious and calling anyone and everyone they can including Bryan Singer etc, to try and get the film in somewhere.. ANYWHERE!! We heard they even called the woman at SXSW a b!tch over the phone. Their distributor must be very disappointed. Apparently Bryan isn't pulling any special strings for the 33 year old twin ducklings because he's very busy waiting for some white triplets to turn 18.

by Anonymousreply 10711/11/2017

All the names are hear for any journalists :

Wayne Castro

Tommy Johnson

The Entin Twins

by Anonymousreply 10911/11/2017

R109 Who is Andrew Cochran? He looks too sweet.

by Anonymousreply 11011/11/2017

If [R107 is true] that's hilarious. I worked on the movie. It was decent, but came out the same time as GBF, a much stronger teen movie

by Anonymousreply 11111/11/2017

Funny quote at R107:

[quote]Apparently Bryan isn't pulling any special strings for the 33 year old twin ducklings because he's very busy waiting for some white triplets to turn 18.

They've been too old for him for ages but I wonder if they still recruit boys.

by Anonymousreply 11211/11/2017
by Anonymousreply 11311/12/2017

Are the Entin Twins still living with him? He must see them more as henchmen in a James Bond villain sort of way than as his boy toys.

by Anonymousreply 11411/12/2017

R58 Wow!

by Anonymousreply 11511/12/2017

Is there a market in Hollywood for these gay brother double sex acts: the Entin twins, Evan & Jaron, etc?

by Anonymousreply 11611/12/2017

Bryan Singer's IMDBPro page now lists a new publicist.

David Geffen. Bryan is his only client.

by Anonymousreply 11712/04/2017

So were these kids under age when they were with Singer?

by Anonymousreply 11812/05/2017
by Anonymousreply 11912/05/2017

[quote]Bryan and I have discussed his boy obsessions and sex tourism. We have discussed his prescription drug addiction. We have discussed his drinking problem. We have discussed his point that it is useless to know anyone socially unless there is a sexual point.

Someone should send this to Michele Clunie, the woman who rented BS her womb to incubate his spawn (a boy--poor kid). She must feel like an ass thinking they were good friends. He so clearly used her, assuming that having a baby would to clean up his dog shit image. You know that quote about him is absolute fact because he never seen with any women at all. NONE.

by Anonymousreply 12012/05/2017

I see an OD in someone's future....Whether it's accidental or intentional, I don't know.
