It’s quite a bit grosser than the Simpson’s, bud t that’s the point, surely. This show also excels in awkward conversation. Shows like R&M have better time, but the jokes aren’t as funny IMO.

I love it. Except for the first episode this year (when they had all of their fans submit their fan art.)

I remember when I first saw this show I thought how weird it was they had male voices playing Linda and Tina, but now they sound like female voice. It's a nice change of pace from the Seth McFarlanne shows.

The show has so many great lines, zingers, or punchlines. And then the songs. I am surprised that there is no official soundtrack.

It's not anywhere near as good as the original early seasons of the Simpsons. I think it's very lame and boring, trading on stupid gross jokes and cheap sentimentality. It falls into the same pathetic territory of family guy, another bullshit show for wankers.

This is the only show on which Kristen Schaal works where I can stand her.

I loved watching the episodes and then go to the AV Club and check the Bob's Burgers reviews and the Discus comment section underneath where the comments were either about dissing the AV reviewer for grading the episode wrong or posting the best punchlines of the episode (and there are usually plenty of them). But the new non-Discus comment format just plain sucks.

Their holiday themed episodes are the best. Like the Thanksgiving one where the butcher thinks Bob is hitting on him, because he comes back to buy more turkeys.

Louise gets her dream scary Halloween is my favorite. Second would be when the kids go to the nearby island for Halloween. Then the one where the kids open a casino in the basement. I love Kevin Kline as Mr Fischoeder.

It's nothing like Family Guy, which is crass, disgusting, violent and the entire family despises each other; dismemberment, projectile vomiting, rape, torture and constant porn references. It's sick.

Bob's family is sweet, loving. endearing and decent. Their stories involve odd, funny and offbeat problems.

It's good that we finally have an Asian animated family.

I like Tina. She's just like I am in so many ways.

I love all the background puns - the burger names on the chalkboard, the different business names in the opening every episode. Yes, Wire Hangers! and Valley of the Doilies convince me there's a Datalounger on the animation staff.

Brilliant in every way. Exceptional cast and guest voices as well. The show's got a lot of heart, and that's what sets it apart from most of its peers.

For who understands German, synchro in German often makes the shows better, because it's a more cultural language, and with animated synchro is easier to make; the actors are usually theatre actors.

If you haven't seen the pilot with Tina as Daniel, you have to.

The last couple seasons haven't been as good as the first 5 or so, but I still love it. One of my favorite episodes is when the family goes to Florida to visit Linda's parents. Linda and Bob discover her parents are living in an elderly swinging community and the kids try to rescue a chihuahua that might have been eaten by a python. This scene is the best:

That actually really put me off on the show. The trend started a good 15 years ago or so on "Home Movies" and "Lucy, Daughter of the Devil" (both of which share many of the same voice actors) and it was okay as a laugh back then, but it's been soooo long and they just keep doing the same shtick.

I didn't even realize how often it happened until Archer had a woman do a man's voice last season, and I realized that despite being a huge fan of animated shows since the 1990s, I'd never heard that before, only men doing women. Since then it's stuck out like a sore thumb to me.

Another favorite: Tina driving. The morning of my niece's driver's test I sent this clip to her and said "this is what NOT to do."

The "Mad Pooper" episode is brilliant, especially Gene turning into Bob.

I think "Regular Sized Rudy" is one of the best character creations (and names) ever. Sad he's just got a bit part.

My favorite episode is the one with Duncan, the exchange student from New Zealand who speaks in such strange slang terms that no one can understand him, but Tina (who is facing off with him for a debate championship) falls in love with him anyway.

The Christmas double episode was hilarious. It was quite possibly the gayest episode ever. I loved the "Twinkly Lights" number.

I freaking love this show, it's the only adult themed cartoon that I dont mind my nephews and nieces watching with me .

I find the thanksgiving and christmas episodes incredible underwhelming every season but they always kill the halloween episodes.

Here's "Twinkly Lights" by Miss Triple Xmas (a.k.a. Cleavage 2 Beaver)

One of my favorite episodes involved Linda's sister Gayle (voiced by Megan Mullally). Specifically, the one in which the kids run away to Aunt Gayle's apartment (to avoid a punishment, I believe) and Linda tries to force the kids back home of their own accord by telling her sister to play her nonsensical, boring, hours-long board game, "Gayle Force Winds", with them. I laughed so hard!

Louise ran away from the dentist in that episode. Tina and Gene showed up later to trick her to go back to the dentist.

Bummed that it’s not on tonight. I’m stuck inside.

I watched a few episodes when it first started, but I didn't just really click with it. A friend of mine recently discovered it and is a huge fan, so I gave it another try, and it's actually pretty great. The tone reminds me of the early Modern Family seasons - gentle, but not bland. I've only seen about ten episodes so far, but my favourite at this point is the Valentine's Day one with the trapeze and the limo.

I miss the "old" days of the AV Club where they still had the Disqus comment feature and you could go on their site, read their reviews about the episodes and then geek out in the comment section by sharing and reading all the comments posting the best lines of the episode.

The show loves to add new names for both the shop, next to Bob's Burgers, and the Pest Control Truck.

I could watch just episodes filled with Gayle as I love that character. All of the seoncdary characters are just as good as the main ones.

The couple, Linda and Bob befriend, with the emotional support dog was everything!

I gave BB another chance and decided I like it, but there are some awful episodes. Linda is a very uneven character.

Linda's a bit manic, but fun! Ya know?

I love to watch the actors do table readings.

I feel like they didn't entirely figure out Linda as a character. The guy who does her voice is hilarious, but sometimes her character is so stupid it seems like she's a different character than what she's usually like.

In contrast, Bob and Tina are both very complex and interesting. They always show different sides to themselves, but they're usually pretty much in keeping with the characters. Tina is usually the character who makes me laugh the most, especially when she's really mortified or frightened and makes that strange groaning sound.

Louise and Gene are pretty one-note, but the guy who does Gene's voice is very funny when he's enthusiastic, and louise, while rarely funny, is at least useful almost every episode for setting the plot in motion.

My favorite characters are the side characters, particularly the strange friends of the Belcher kids. Andy and Ollie Di Pesto who cannot be separated are my very favorites, but I also love their older brother who loves to dance and has the strange speech impediment, and the horrible Tammy who bullies Tina mostly because she's so self-centered and bored. I also like the bizarre drag queens in their seaside town.

That was funny to see, thanks 99. I love the guy that does Linda. I think the characters have remained true and pretty consistent since the beginning of the show.

It's really quite a good show and - as has been mentioned, it does a great job with creating the secondary characters -- original and funny.

Linda is really open minded, yet there was an episode where she was literally gagging at the thought of elderly people having sex. That was odd.

I used to love this show the first two seasons because it was exactly like The Simpsons was in the beginning--offbeat, quirky and endearing. I haven't seen the episode parodying Tori Amos since it first ran but I still giggle about it to this day.

I stopped watching it some time ago because it started to get...a little bit too clumsy setting up jokes? Or maybe it was just having a bad run of episodes at the time? I dunno. I might start watching it again because of this thread.

This season started real strong but the last three episodes (a jean and two tina episodes at that) have been really underwhelming.

No, R103, it was at the idea of anyone in the retirement community, not just her parents. That's why it was odd.

And I just saw an episode where she tells Bob he can sleep with that snotty rich lady if he has to, just to get into the community garden. The writing is all over the place with Linda. They make her do whatever will make it easier to write their script, and it shows.

Well I too didn't like the show at first but it grew on me. I like most of the characters. I don't like Louise. And I hate Teddy. But " Electric Love" is a brilliant song! And I love Gene who reminds me a great deal of Bobby Hill in the way he is open and free to things without fear, except snakes. But Tina is the one I relate to the most: smart, always moving forward, a little overwhelmed, but always manages to solve her own problems. And I love the fact that she can't see that Jimmy, Jr. is gay.

I recently started watching it because of this thread. I now have a problem going through my day sounding like Linda. I used to have the same problem with Peggy Hill.

I don't think Jimmy Jr is gay. Zeke, on the other hand, definitely is.

I don’t know if Jimmy Jr. is gay or not, but Tina's dancer boyfriend from the performing arts school was DEFINITELY gay.

Tina is by far my favorite. I love that when she gets flustered she makes that horrible monotone groaning sound.

My favorite episode is when she's on the debate team and falls in love with the New Zealand foreign exchange student from the other school, and he keeps using strange New Zealand slang terms no one else can understand (and yet he's so affable).

Louise was my favorite character in the beginning, but they've basically neutered her. And I can't understand why. She was a great sort-of-evil genius.

I love tina's groans and that Bob mistook her for the fridge because of them.

Also love that tina has a major butt fetish she is a serious rimmer.

The episode where they run away to Aunt Gayle's is one of the best. It has many great lines.

My least favorite episode is the first one this season where they change the animation style after each scene.

I thought the different animation stuff was an interesting enough one-off, but I’d love it if they released that episode with traditional animation one day. It was actually a very funny script. I always enjoy the Fischoder Brothers and I LOVE Dame Judi Brunch.

Kevin Kline and Zach Galifianakis are so great as the Fischoeders. I want the to team up for a movie or something.

The Gayle Tales episode was on tonight. The Jane Austen parody is simply brilliant, I particularly love Gene as Eugenia...."my petticoats are unspeakable!". Here is most of that scene.

Zeke and jimmy jr will experiment with each other but both end up marrying women. Bob is the type of married man that will let a gay guy or drag queen suck him off and fuck them behind Linda's back.

Some of my favorite episodes are the ones where each of the kids tell a story with their point of view. this latest season didn’t have an episode like that and that sucks.
