I think she would be ok. I don't have TV at the moment, but that is my favorite show.
I wish there was a channel or two that had programming like that all day and night. Instead of all the garbage we get.

Pauley began her role as host on October 9, 2016. Welcome back, OP.

I always found her snarky on Today.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 20, 2017 1:40 AM |
I think she's done well. She's very thin however and this is only accentuated by her big head.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 26, 2017 9:36 PM |
She's awful and her script is embarrassingly tired is she writing that rubbish?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 26, 2017 9:52 PM |
i saw her in a coffee shop last week in our neighborhood, early morning she came in and met a woman of the same type, middle aged, well groomed, ues "low key" demeanor. She looked great and seemed to be having a pleasant chat with her pal
i remarked to my bud afterward that i wasn't sure at first that it was her because she looked so youthful.

She was "snarky" because she had to deal with Bryant Gumbel - NBC'S Head Chief of Snark and Self-Adulation. Gumbel was insufferable condescending to Jane. I used to watch that show in 80s and couldn't believe the ego on that man.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 26, 2017 10:03 PM |
agree, but to his credit, gumbel did say that talking to jerry hall (the current mrs. r. murdoch) was like talking to the fucking wall.

Very bland.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 26, 2017 10:10 PM |
Very bland. Smarmy and inauthentic, which is a deadly combination. But she's leading with her twat so they won't dare to drop her.

[quote]Smarmy and inauthentic
Jake Tapper and a lot of others on TV

The most harmless show on television...unless of course Charles Osgood was diddling and pulling a Harvey Weinstein on Jane before she took over.

I wish there were a couple of shows like that on at prime time
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 26, 2017 11:05 PM |
I love Sunday Morning. Been watching it since Charles Kuralt days and look forward to hearing the intro French horn music.

and the nature bit at the end
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 26, 2017 11:29 PM |
Yes, r15. That was always an uplifting and relaxing finale to a wonderful program. The producers/directors/writers really put their hearts and souls into those "nature" segments. I noticed CBS cut back on the length of the segments which was (and continues to be) disappointing.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 26, 2017 11:34 PM |
Aww, I did not know they cut back on the length. I haven't had TV since 2009 but this is a show I would watch.

OP - Someone posted Jane's debut last September. Here's the link.

Oh for crissakes R17, are we supposed to applaud your tv-less existence to prove your superiority to the rest of us because you are oh so above popular culture? Bread and roses baby. That's what life is about,. Read your Shakespeare. Or is that also too lowbrow for you?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 26, 2017 11:40 PM |
Superb thread on Sunday Morning from 2012.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 26, 2017 11:41 PM |
How was I acting superior, R19? I just said I didn't have TV. I made a couple of big moves. I said would watch this show if I had TV again.

I'm waiting in the wings!

Sharon Stone to be interviewed this am! Where's she been? Love her.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 14, 2018 1:07 PM |
To the humblebragging TV-free twerp, pull out your iPhone or iPad, go to the App Store and download the CBSN app. Its content is 99% atrocious, but they broadcast—wait oir it—CBS Sunday Morning.

I love Jane Pauley. LOVE.
I'm about 7 years younger than Jane and grew up in Indianapolis. Jane Pauley and David Letterman both started there broadcast careers there on local news and weather programs. Both of them got out. They were the proof I needed that it could be done. One could escape that SHIT HOLE.
Both of them were so important and I remain grateful.

Anyone see the Sharon Stone interview today? Lee Cowan asked if she had experienced any for of sexual harassment or come-ons. She paused and looked at him and laughed. And laughed. And laughed.
Was Lee Cowan born yesterday?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 14, 2018 6:08 PM |
R26 I loved that part of the interview. Sharon said something after laughing at Lee Cowan's question about being sexually harassed like, "When I looked like I looked back then - what do you think?!"
Love her.
