And she didn't look that good before this... She's a good woman. I feel sorry for her.

I wonder if she wold look as bad if her hair and makeup were more age-appropriate. I think it's often the dichotomy between the hair style and the flesh that makes people look worse than they do.

R6 is correct. The hair and makeup is just too harsh for someone her age.

It’s not natural aging. She has had things injected and possibly implanted into her cheeks and mouth area. Why she did that is difficult to tell given how aged the rest of her face is, but it’s definitely overzealous cosmetic alterations.

I think that she would have been the perfect actress to slide into great older character actress roles had she toned the plastic surgery down. She's left herself without an acting avenue to pursue.

She's looked like this for a few years--when she played Alicia Florick (J. Margulies) mother in The Good Wife, this was her face in the last season or so. It's shockingly bad surgery. She's a good actress, but she must have gone to Kim Novak's doctor for this.

The photos from her current Broadway play (with Hugh Dancy playing her two sons??) are a bit better. She has probably had some temporary cheek fillers. It's hell getting old.

She has been getting her face hacked away at for decades. In the late 90's, she had major work done. When she played Eleanor of Aquitaine in the Roundabout's production of "The Lion in Winter," her face didn't move much and her upper lip moved not at all. There's really only so much of that a person can endeavor, until it fights back in a big way.
