Former Child Star Frankie Muniz and His Brain Damage
Apparently he's had a series of small strokes and concussions over the years so he doesn't remember much of the things he's done in the past, including a lot of his time on "Malcolm in the Middle".
“I don’t know what the cause of it is,” he told Fox News. “It’s just how my brain is, so I thought that was normal. I didn’t know I should remember going to the Emmys.”

Wasn't he also a race car driver? Did he forget about that, too?

The article states 9 concussions and a series of mini strokes caused him his memory lapse. How did he get 9 concussions. I had one as a child falling out of top bunk onto terrazzo floor (my mom heard the wood safety bar fall onto floor, but didn't get up to see what happened, lol). They found me unconscious in the morning, slumped on the floor. My daughter had one falling off a hand trail on a wood walkway in a kids park; she kept on playing. Later in evening, standing in line at Popeyes, she projectiles vomits on the floor (of course, I am a good parent and cleaned it up, even though the manager said he would). Rushed (well, after the floor cleanup) daughter to ER, concussion. How do you get 9 concussions, unless you are NFL football player?

Is he having seizures which cause him to hit his head? Unless he's tumbling off buildings on a regular basis, what's the reason? It's like he's Drew Barrymore in 50 First Dates.

Nine concussions is a huge number!
Has someone been beating the shit out of him? Has he spent a lot of time falling-down drunk? Does he bang his head on the wall when he doesn't get his way?

And we're supposed to vote for him in a dancing competition because of this? Oh, yeah, it's called American rhetoric.

Electroshock treatments will render the same results. Remember, Muniz was a child actor, whose childhood memories (evidence) have conveniently been erased...just sayin'.

Fuck. I’ve just come off a repeat binge of MITM and had no idea Muniz was so sick these days. It’s quite disconcerting to hear about what he’s going through and at such a relatively young age (though obviously we’re like +15 years removed from MITM already by, unbelievably....)
And was that Berfield thing ever confirmed R6? Watching MITM back over and scrolling over his Twitter I can totally see Justin being gay but at the same time the all stories I’ve heard smack of DL-fanfic & folklore. Maybe he’s just a private shy guy or doesn’t date. He seems to be more about getting paid, working and travelling than relationships.

Wasn't there a reddit post a few years ago by a former child actor who shared stories about abuse on the set of his show and one of the rumoured posters was the actor that played Dewey on MITM?

I wonder if he’s spoken to Jaclyn Smith? Her first cat was a shelter cat, she named her Bootsy Gumdrops.

I wonder if he played hockey. I have cousins who had that many concussions in the juniors in the period where they didn’t track the number of concussions.

I'm wondering if he played sports, too.

Yes, R19, but I don't think it was actually him. IIRC, the author mentioned that his parents spent his earnings on rehab for his sibling, but Erik Per Sullivan is an only child.

I had the weirdest crush on Reese growing up (I’m younger than the character & actor).

Malcolm caught a rare syndrome from Reese sucking a hickey into his neck in that “I thought you were gay” MITM episode.

Not remembering can be psychologically healthy. A lot of people suffer depression caused by bad memories. They'd be better off like Frankie.

Maybe he got concussions from being a race car driver? Epilepsy can also be a sign of a brain injury. I knew a woman who was sitting in her car during a windstorm and a giant sign fell on her car. She fractured her skull and was epileptic after that.
She would sometimes drink after that and drinking would bring on a seizure. It’s very common for an epileptic to fall down during a seizure. If there doesn’t happen to be anyone there to help, they could hit their head very easily.

Sorry, I meant epilepsy can be a *consequence* of a brain injury. ^^
Is he having concussions from hitting his head during a seizure or is he having seizures from brain injuries from all the concussions?

“Amnesiac” has a cooler ring to it than the awful epithet of “former child-star”.
