Steve Lacy racism
As much as you or whoever thinks this sounds like b.s., it’s from a real place,” he added. “I’m a nigga from Compton, I don’t dislike black people, I prefer to live here and be around POC because I love black people. I’m just not attracted to black boys, that is it. I still love them and want them to do well in life, we just won’t date. Sorry.”
That didn’t cut it for some people, includingAffinity’s Daryl Perry.
Lacy feels as it’s almost incestuous for him to want to date black men. How is that not anti-black? How is not being attracted to a whole race of people justified? It isn’t, and shouldn’t be. Lacy has no actual reasoning for his preferences, and just dug himself into a bigger hole…
He’s treating a whole group of people as the few he’s grown up with, which is making a generalization. Lacy’s comparing every black boy on earth to the people he grew up with, which is inaccurate, but just wrong. That’s equivalent to me meeting one POC who says they hate black people and thinking “Everyone of that particular community is racist.” Not okay.
Perry maintains that Lacy is internalizing and reinforcing a racial hierarchy “almost as if he’s too good to date black men, that they’re below him.”

He's not gay, why didn't they also ask him if he won't date black women?

Well, yeah….that’s usually what it means. It’s racist--pure and simple and IS NOT exclusive to whites. His life, his choice and now you know where he stands. Life goes on.
Professionally, not a smart move tho.

He has the right to select his partners, but why go on and on about it? r2 is right about the professional fallout. Is it really so important to let everyone know that you like some races better than others?

1) Steve Lacy can't control who/what he's attracted to
2) Requiring him to fuck someone he's not attracted in order to avoid being labeled a racist by SJWs is sexual coersion
3) Sexual coersion is rape
Conclusion: SJWs want to rape Steve Lacy.
Also: who the fuck is Steve Lacy.

As young black guy, he's vocalizing what a lot of black men in the West think, but won't admit in "mixed company". We internalize ideals of whiteness and men regardless of race are very status driven. For many black men, a white partner is the ultimate status symbol as if to say in spite of my blackness look at my white girlfriend/boyfriend (it doesn't actually matter if the white partner is actually attractive, they're white which is all that matters.) Which is why you see so many attractive black males with white partners who are way less attractive. I know so many black men who absolutely refuse to date within their race coming up with excuses like black people are too dramatic, ghetto, or this or that and the funny thing is their white partner has many of the characteristics they despise in black people. I have a cousin who won't date black women because they're loud and aggressive yet every single one of his white girlfriends have been like that "cash me outside" girl.

Michael Sam is a perfect example of this. He dated that little greaseball Vito what his name, even though he was nothing more than a star fucker with connections to the mob and pornography industry.

Oh well, life is a buffet.
If he doesn't want it ... more chocolate for everyone else!
I've dated back-to-back white guys, so those who've only known me the past five years think I'm only into white guys (even though it's just three in a row, unrelated to a prior decade of dating blacks/latinos.)
So, I get both sides of the argument. Date who you want, but realize the people are going to give you a judgmental side-eye you for any choice you make.
And speaking judgement ... hopefully women who hear "openly bisexual black man" will run as fast, and as far, away as they can. I've yet to meet one who's not a promiscuous, compulsive liar who spreads seed and disease.

It's nobody's business who he sleeps with. If he has some silly Pavlovian fear of black men let him have it, I have a similar one to Brazilian men after I was gay bashed by a few of them. It's just a defense mechanism supplied by millions of years of evolution. His sense of safety > the feelings of men he rejects.

He says nothing about black women, only black men. I wonder if he's worried about losing friendships and respect among that group so his comments are a pre-emptive strike against "Shorty B is hangin' with Steve Lacy. Shorty gay?" etc.
His boyfriend looks like a bit like Morrissey in the face, if not the coiffure.

[quote]“Growing up around black males, they were always my competitors ya know?
I think he's been burned by other black boys growing up. That is pretty common when you grow up a black man, gay, straight or otherwise. When you are gay or bisexual and handsome like him, that forces even more space between you and other black men. The jealously runs deep, and brothers can sense when you think you're too good to run with them. And not to mention if he was abused by a black man growing up, or has a bad history with this father.
He's certainly entitled to have relationships with whoever, but this is a dumb move, business wise. He is an attractive young man and should not alienate a huge potential audience so early in his career. At least wait until you're drinking age dude!

I think it’s dangerous to consider a preference “racism.” Personally I would have sex with a black man but don’t think it would work as a long term relationship for me. We need to quit being so judgmental.

Most people black or white prefer not to date outside of their race. That “status symbol” nonsense is really a very dated white supremacist trope. There are of course some who date outside of their race for any number of reasons. However, generally speaking, regardless of socioeconomic status, most people do not date outside of their race.
[quote] Today, 87 percent of Americans say they approve marriages between Black and White people. However, the responses change dramatically when they are asked more directly about how they feel if one of their close relatives wants to marry outside their race. Results from our recent research show that more than half (54 percent) of Blacks are in favor of their close relative marrying a White person. The result is lower for Whites, among whom only one-in-four (26 percent) said they were in favor of their close relative marrying a Black person. Such findings show that interracial relations are still unfavorable in the United States

So now you're RACIST if you're not SEXUALLY ATTRACTED to people of a certain race?? Has the world really gone this mad? I guess if you're a man who's not attracted to men that makes you homophobic. This is becoming a shit world where everyone wants to dictate how you should live your life.
