The last season of Grantchester was weak. But if they do bring it back, please write out Morven Christie for good. This is the third or fourth thing I’ve seen her in and she’s very unlikable.

I agree the last season of Dreamy McVicarson, er, Grantchester went a bit off the rails, but they could easily fix it by focusing less on the vicar and the detective's personal lives and more on crimes. If they need B-plots, surely there are a whole host of English churchfolk they could bring in -- the churchwarden, the choirmaster, the acolytes, the ladies who do the flowers, Sunday school teachers, etc. Plus, Grantchester is near Cambridge U., so there's a whole other set of plots/crimes. If they need to get Norton and Robson's shirts off let them go swimming again. Enough with the pining and the cheating.

I gave up after three episodes. A complete bore to me. But I checked the tag on Twitter and people seemed to enjoy the finale.

Still no word on Season 4 of Grantchester. The author said they weren't even sure if Norton would return if renewed.

None, really. And his girlfriends ("girlfriends"?) seem to be fellow cast members (Jessie Buckley from "War and Peace" and Imogen Poots from "Belleville," a play he recently did in London) and don't seem to be of any duration. He does work a lot, and a working actor's life is often not conducive to long-term relationships.

Only a brief Gratuitous Shirtless Scene for Norton in episode 2 of McMafia (which a friend of mine calls McMuffin). He was answering his cellphone in bed late at night, so it was dimly lit and we didn't see much more than his bare shoulders. He also looks great in a variety of beautifully cut dark suits, which is what he wears for most of the show.

I made it through about 15 minutes of Flatliners. Norton's American accent is fine enough, but his character is a douchebro. He played a similar type to better effect in Bonobos. Considering Daniel Craig is still Bond at least through next year, there is time for bookie odds to change multiple times. A new contender all together may emerge over the next few months. Norton would reinstate the mix of class and sex appeal to Bond. Daniel Craig is sexy but no class.

R133: I believe filming for the fourth season of Grantchester begins in July if it hasn't already started. Rumor has it that Norton will be in most, but not all, of the season. They may be writing his character out so Norton can do other projects. I thought the last season pretty much went off the rails, but I'll watch the new one regardless, just for the production values and Norton's floppy hair. I wish he and Georgie would just make out already. I wish a lot of things.

I barely remember season 3 now, but the main problem was the Amanda drama. The mystery of the week might have actually been better than season 2, but both seasons were a drop off from season 1. Hopefully Amanda will be permanently gone, but I would not count on it.

And then Sidney had a crisis of faith and ran off to live with the Roma (sorta...). Grantchester is one of the few shows where I'm fine if they stick with the procedural format in which the mystery is wrapped up in one episode. The overarching story of Gary Bell being tried for murder in S2 added nothing to the show. But James Norton in a dog collar? Sure, I'll watch that. And I enjoy Mrs. M, er, C and Leonard.

I've always thought that more attention should be paid to the mysteries and less to the personalities, especially when the writers seem to have no sense of what it was like to live at that time or what it means to be a minister.
