My dog laying on the floor seemingly asleep but being aware of where I am at all times.
My kid saying goodnight and "I love you" every night before he goes to bed.

My narcissus return every year, without fail. And tulips that were planted 40 years ago, by my Mom. The snow crocus that my Mom was given by our across-the-street neighbor, Ruby, who now resides not too far from my dear Mom. The sound of cicadas and tree frogs in the summer. My Mom planted a Viburnum X Carlcephalum bush in a terrible place (too close to the house) in honor of her (mentally disabled) sister when her sister passed away. The flowers are modest, but their perfume is swooningly beautiful. So it stays where it's planted.

Waking up super early in the morning with the energy to complete chores like laundry before having to get ready for work; also, iced coffee, the smell and feel of my Lush Karma soap, listening to podcasts as I drive to work.
I also love the smell in the air when it is about to rain. Watching birds visit the bird feeders on my porch from my bay window. And, getting under the covers and stretching out on my bed at the end of the day as I prepare to go to sleep, exhausted but happy.

In the fall and winter, I use a heated mattress pad, which I turn on a couple hours before going to bed. Some days, getting into a pre-warmed bed is the best thing that happens. It's always a treat, though.
And, as others have mentioned: hot baths and showers, fresh coffee, cuddly cats.

anyway, my turn, I have a very expensive hand held vacuum thing that's so terrific, so cleaning is so much easier and it definitely makes my life more pleasant when things are all vacuumed and not waiting until things get out of hand before I vacuum - like I used to.

Drinking hot coffee and reading the newspaper in the morning. Watching the changes in my garden throughout the year. Soon the leaves will start to change. Feeling my 10 pound cat's body crushed up against me during the night. He's like a 10 pound boulder when he sleeps. However, I do not like to see his butt anywhere near my pillow. The little face, it can be on my pillow anytime. A friendly conversation with a stranger.

How can the cat sleeping with you be pleasant? Mine insists on sleeping between my legs and I wake up in the middle of the night because I can't turn over. A plugged in heating pad on a pet bed and a cat who would take the hint would make my life more pleasant.

"piping hot"...
[quote]The derivation of this little phrase is the sizzling, whistling sound made by steam escaping from very hot food, which is similar to the sound of high-pitched musical pipes.
An early citation is given in Philemon Holland's translation of Pliny's Historie of the world, 1601:
"Beanes... fried all whole as they be, and so cast piping hot into sharp vineger."

She does the grocery shopping and cooks a little bit for me, keeps the house clean, is home when I need to have people come in for repairs, deliveries, etc. It's a significant expense for me but worth every penny. I would give up cable and would happily give up vacations and going out before I would cut back on this service. It truly makes my life more pleasant.

Taking the suburban commuter train into the city. An hour of peace and reflection in the morning and afternoon. Only 6 min drive from my door to the station. After years of 45 min commutes in crazy traffic I love the freedom of just riding.

Eldergay here, lost my mother last fall . I did not know much about a computer, but have been finding my way. So when I get a WW from DL, it makes me smile. And BTW, when some of these whores get in a back and forth, it's very entertaining. Sometimes I am laughing out loud. Thanks DLrs!

Clean and fresh bedding to slip into has been mentioned which I wholeheartedly endorse as a smaller joy here.
My acquisition and bedding splurge last year on a quartet pile of feather down larger pillows have taken that feeling next level.
Fortunately, I've had no allergic reaction, I need to use a liner slip and have bulked them up double-stuff* but the satisfying crinkle type crunch in the distinct way this type of cushioning cocoons, cradles and shapes exactly as my neck and shoulders need makes for splendid indolence and 5-star luxe home comfort lolling.
*Don't predictably go there DL.

I love the feeling of satisfaction I get from an industrious weekend where I totally clean the house, get all the laundry done, have wonderful things in the fridge to eat and drink, the weather is horrible, cold and rainy, and I can cuddle on the couch and watch something really great on my 65 inch TV or read a good book. I treasure ties of tranquility because my day to day is so turbulent.

Boiling hot showers. The luxury of not having to set an alarm on weekends. "Forgetting" to charge my phone and enjoying a few blessed hours, or even a day without any kind of unwanted human interaction. The sun and wind on my skin when I'm running. Blasting music in my car during long rides when there's no one around.
And cats. Obviously.

Sounds corny, but I like to be stocked-up on everyday things like toilet paper, paper towels, breakfast foods, etc. Helps especially when I get sick. If I need to stay home and rest, at least I don't need to run out to the store to get something I've run out of.

Getting pleasantly buzzed with my husband on Friday nights and having our weekly great dinner and movie night.
It’s funny how many people are saying being at home with books, pets etc. is their greatest pleasure right now because every day life has become so draining. It’s certainly become my favorite thing.
