Anyone else get these?
I have been getting them a lot lately.
Everytime I try and get them out I end up gagging and dry heaving?
Any recommendations?

No I most certainly do not, you nasty, unclean pig!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 16, 2017 9:00 PM |
I think using gargle regularly help or gargle with a warm water and salt mixture.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 16, 2017 9:02 PM |
I gag when I gargle.
Maybe a water pik?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 16, 2017 9:04 PM |
They're disgusting. I produced one a few weeks ago, I woke up and cleared my throat and felt it, it was the size of half a grain of rice. I was able to spit it out then immediately gargled, flossed, and brushed. I'm glad I didn't bite into it by accident, they smell exactly like feces if they're broken open.

Brush your teeth.

You need your tonsils removed
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 16, 2017 9:20 PM |
I've never heard of this before.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 16, 2017 9:21 PM |
I get them about once a year and discussed it with my physician. Also researched it online. The only thing that works for me is gargling with warm salt water every couple of hours. Within two days or so they're gone. R6 I had my tonsils removed as a kid.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 16, 2017 9:26 PM |
Not everyone gets them r7 only the dirty people with poor oral hygiene.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 16, 2017 9:28 PM |
It's not true. Whether you get them or not depends on whether you have deep tonsil crypts that could trap bits of food you eat.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 16, 2017 9:30 PM |
Another classic recycled! Should go to 600.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 16, 2017 9:30 PM |
Do you smoke, OP? Smoking dries the mucous membranes and allows these to remain in the tonsil. Gently massage the areas at either side of your throat (where the glands are that connect to the tonsils) and swallow at the same time. This can help. Hot water, swished around in the back of the throat often helps. Deeper crypts in the tonsil can make them harder to extricate, and yes, a water pic can help dislodge them. Sinus infections are often a cause, as well.

Sounds disgusting.

This is a sign of a dropped uterus.

They are, R13, and contribute to dog shit breath.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 16, 2017 10:14 PM |
I agree with what R12 said about sinus infections. I had a tonsil stone just once, two weeks after a bad sinus infection I had to fly from the US to Europe. I drank a hot coffee then fell asleep on the plane. I woke up, coughed, felt a weird little thing in my mouth unexpectedly. Spit it into a napkin as discreetly as possible. It was a little light brown tonsil stone. I think the combination of hot liquid, dry plane air, dry mouth, and odd neck position dislodged it. I always try to be careful about brushing and flossing and gargling and spitting, especially when I have any kind of ear-nose-throat sickness going on - even more so since that happened.

I continuously had tonsil stones starting at age 16 until age 34 when I finally had my tonsils removed. The taste is horrible, and I fear that I likely had bad breath a lot of the time without realizing it. I got pretty handy at picking them out, but I always had a bit of the taste even once I removed a stone. I imagine that some of the material remained.
I wish that someone would have told me that my breath was stank...I was married and had quite a few boyfriends in those years, but no one said a word. I have to admit that when looking back, those few times when a dude did not call back after what seemed to be a successful first date, I wonder if my putrid breath was the reason.

Have you guys tried brushing your teeth?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 16, 2017 11:43 PM |
Another sufferer here. I address them weekly. I just pop them out with the handle of a nail file. I basically push on one tonsil, then the other. I do it with a handheld mirror reflecting the vanity light.
With regular maintenance, mine are always tiny. They used to be gigantic and affect my breath before I knew what they were.
If you can catch whiffs of your own funky breath, you are blasting a putrid miasma at your conversation partners and lovers. Of course general breath tips still apply. A moist mouth will defninitly smell less than a dry one, even with stones.

See your dentist. This is the absolute wrong place to ask for this advice.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 17, 2017 12:56 AM |
What R7 said.
If they're caused by excess cum that doesn't get swallowed... fine.
Any other reason... oh, hell no. Eeeek!

R20, I had to see an ENT specialist, since the tonsils aren't really associated with dental health.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 17, 2017 1:05 AM |
I was afflicted with these nasties until I had my tonsils out at age 30. Sometimes they were visible, sometimes they were caught up in folds in the tonsils. I learned that the hard way once I would try to dislodge a visible one only to end up pushing out more I hadn't seen. There was nothing I could do to stop them from forming and trying to keep up with removing them was a losing battle. Tonsillectomy was the only solution.

My sister had her tonsils out as a middle aged adult, as an outpatient as they usually do it now. After a few days recovering at home she wound up being admitted as a 23 hour stay because she was so dehydrated, she couldn't swallow even a drop of water. She told me it felt like someone fired a shotgun at her throat. I dread having that kind of surgery!

I want OP to know that posting links to disgusting bodily function photos is worth getting blocked and ignored. Bye, cunt!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 17, 2017 1:23 AM |
Yeah, apparently tonsillectomies are an extremely high risk surgery for adults. People sometimes bleed out on the table. Or maybe that's all BS that my ENT guy told me to get me and my bad breath out of his office 🤷♂️
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 17, 2017 1:34 AM |
They really are gross and I don't suffer from them, anymore, once I stopped smoking. All the sinus infections I used to get also disappeared.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 17, 2017 4:32 PM |
Hey are primarily bacterial and inflammatory cell debris (that become trapped in tonsil crypts), not food. I tend to get them if I have a sinus infection, post nasal drip, or if I eat something spicy that is irritating to my tonsils. They generally come out on their own, but gargling helps flush them out.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 17, 2017 4:37 PM |
Yuk, I had those when I was a kid , strangely I have have not had one in 40 years, they smell like shit (literally) and are full of bacteria . I would suggest swabbing the area with a Qtip soaked in hydrogen peroxide and let it buggle before trying any extraction .
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 13, 2018 3:41 PM |
What the absolute hell?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 13, 2018 3:44 PM |
Once in a while I get one in the little pouch way back in the roof of the mouth. I always thought it was a wayward piece of corn until The Doctors had something about it on a show years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 13, 2018 5:58 PM |
Stop swallowing strange jizz.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 13, 2018 6:27 PM |
I have so many maladies myself, I'm actually kind of glad that there's finally something I DON'T have.
Still, EEEEWWW.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 13, 2018 9:38 PM |
Only tacky people get these, r30. Calm down. Come sit over here with us.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 13, 2018 9:43 PM |
I've suffered with these since I was a kid. I remember once in 2nd grade I somehow dislodged an entire mouthful of them. I had to rush up to the teaher's desk for a Kleenex before I puked.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 13, 2018 10:24 PM |
I'm glad my mouth does not produce reeking little stones.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 14, 2018 1:55 PM |
What the hell are these, and how do you know if you have one?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 15, 2018 11:52 PM |
R20 He is asking for advice and personal experience, moron. Not inviting himself over to your house to have you do surgery. We are all grown ups here and can discuss medical or health topics without needing a Datalounge hall monitor troll to make an appearance or reminding us to visit a qualified medical health practitioner!!!
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 15, 2018 11:58 PM |
That's what an extracted tonsil stone looks like. Blech!!!
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 16, 2018 12:20 AM |
They kind of look like barley bits but smell like rotting death. I push out the ones I can feel but I'm sure there are many more lurking.
