Why Didn't Liza Have Children?

Too much booze, smoking and drugs. I think she had several miscarriages with the straight sculptor.

I saw her at a club in the 80s and she was a mess, as in had to be held up shit-faced with smeared lipstick.

Maybe she 's been trying and not having any luck. I wonder if she's doing in vitro now?

Yes, R2. I think that dear Liza finally is in that stable and mature phase of her young life when she's ready to be a mother. What a joy!

In her child bearing years, she was too much the party girl.

Or maybe she was just afraid that a child of hers would steal her material.

I do remember her having a multiple miscarriages at some point.

Just as well, frankly. She's hardly parent material, nor was her mother really,. despite all that talent.

Some people simply shouldn't be parents.

Liza did have one child after a fling in Italy. The daughter Francesca Tartaglia was put up for adoption. Amazingly, she looks like both Liza and Judy.

I think that woman does favor Judy but who knows.

The later miscarriages were a result of the numerous abortions she had early on. Ironic because I think Liza really did want to have children and now regrets it as she's "alone" (her words).

Because her insides are all wrong.

Medical studies show abortions don't affect your chances of getting pregnant later on and keeping the baby. There is a chance of scarring but it's very rare. The idea that a woman had "too many abortions" is just old-fashioned thinking based on a conservative idea of karmic punishment.

Because she didn't feel like it?

She probably dropped a few kids without noticing. Probably left them in limos and jets, hotel suites and pool cabanas, and simply forgot they ever existed.

Because there was complimentary abortion clinic in the basement of Studio 54.

R7 is way off base. Liza's real daughter was discovered a few years back. She's also an entertainer. The resemblance to Judy Garland is amazing.

Maybe she didn’t want any. Not all humans want to procreate.

That's what comes from too much pills and liquor.

I read an interview with her from the late 1960's, when she had not long married Peter Allen and she was saying she wanted children. I think she did indeed want children from a young age, but was obviously not successful.
