Emma Stone

What do you think about her? According to Forbes, she's the highest paid and most in demand actress. Has she now dethroned JLaw as the Queen of Hollywood?

I like her.

Saw her yesterday at the US Open. She looks much better as a redhead. I've been watching The Help on cable and her hair is just too adorable for words.

by Anonymousreply 1September 10, 2017 10:12 PM

I like her in everything she does, find her really likable. OK, if this is an unpopular take, flame away!

by Anonymousreply 2September 10, 2017 10:14 PM

She got way too thin circa " Birdman." Looks better now, but still too thin. Beautiful eyes.

by Anonymousreply 3September 10, 2017 10:21 PM

I loved her portrayal of a part Asian woman in Aloha.

by Anonymousreply 4September 10, 2017 10:26 PM

I saw her on Broadway in "Cabaret" and thought she was fantastic. I have no problem with her.

by Anonymousreply 5September 10, 2017 10:31 PM

I like Emma Stone and have since I first saw her in "Easy A". However, if I am being truthful, I don't think she should have won an Oscar for La La Land even though she was good. That award belonged to Ruth Negga. Emma comes across likable and not full of herself.

by Anonymousreply 6September 10, 2017 10:41 PM

She was wonderful in Easy A, almost with the quality of the great comediennes of Old Hollywood. Can't stand that JL trash.

by Anonymousreply 7September 10, 2017 10:51 PM

I like her. Can't stand Jennifer Lawrence.

by Anonymousreply 8September 10, 2017 10:53 PM

Easy A is one of the best performances in that genre that I've ever seen. If they had paired her with a better actor, it could have been a great romantic comedy. She used to room with Max Crumm who won the NBC contest to find the next Danny in "Grease." Max was briefly in Easy A and might have been a good, unconventional choice for the male lead.

by Anonymousreply 9September 10, 2017 10:56 PM

She is way better than J Law. Unlike Jennifer Lawrence, she doesn't try too hard and she isn't crass all the time. She isn't an attention whore.

by Anonymousreply 10September 10, 2017 11:00 PM

I hope she gets the lead role in Mulan.

by Anonymousreply 11September 10, 2017 11:02 PM

Average talent, average looks. Above average bulgy creepy eyes. Cannot stand her.

by Anonymousreply 12September 10, 2017 11:07 PM

What's the beef with her and Andrew?

by Anonymousreply 13September 10, 2017 11:07 PM

I like her and I like JL. She's a great comedienne and JL is good at drama.

by Anonymousreply 14September 10, 2017 11:09 PM

R13, isn't the consensus that there has never been any beef between them?

by Anonymousreply 15September 10, 2017 11:14 PM

Her rami malek should get together and have buldge eyed babies, but she's a pussy licker so neva gonna happen.

by Anonymousreply 16September 10, 2017 11:22 PM

Not hot.

by Anonymousreply 17September 11, 2017 12:12 AM

She's going to suck as Billie Jean King.

by Anonymousreply 18September 11, 2017 12:19 AM

She's better than JLaw. Speaking of JLaw, my partner and I walked by her this morning when we took the dog out for his first walk. She's pretty unremarkable in person.

by Anonymousreply 19September 11, 2017 12:46 AM

Loved her in LA LA LAND, but I didn't think it wasn't an Oscar worthy performance. I look forward to her playing Billie Jean King.

by Anonymousreply 20September 11, 2017 12:55 AM

My favorite performance of hers was in "Birdman".

by Anonymousreply 21September 11, 2017 12:57 AM

I wouldn't pay to see her movies..or I don HAVE to go see a emma stone movie.

by Anonymousreply 22September 11, 2017 12:58 AM

She is one of the few actresses I have liked in years. I think AnnE was the last. I can't stand that blonde one who used to act with Miss Bradley Cooper.

by Anonymousreply 23September 11, 2017 1:03 AM

Terrible at giving award speeches.

And r15 for the win.

by Anonymousreply 24September 11, 2017 1:20 AM

Andrew's beef has never been between them.

by Anonymousreply 25September 11, 2017 2:00 AM

God she reminds in the face of Mallory from Family Ties so much! But with a lisp!

I can relate to her. She's attractive without being beautiful. A little quirky. She's one of the few actresses I follow these days.

by Anonymousreply 28September 11, 2017 4:34 AM

r28 so your attractive but not beautiful? You're quirky? lol

by Anonymousreply 29September 11, 2017 7:10 AM

Anyone see her in Cabaret?

by Anonymousreply 30September 11, 2017 10:33 AM

R25 So who's had Andrew's beef all these years? If not Emma?

by Anonymousreply 31September 11, 2017 10:48 AM

R18 Lol she received critical praise for her performance in BoTS. Read the reviews and stop being a hater.

by Anonymousreply 32September 11, 2017 10:56 AM

I like her and like her work. She has amazing eyes.

by Anonymousreply 33September 11, 2017 11:08 AM

I'm in love with her, seriously. Her spirit and energy just seem so damned attractive to me. She must be a ball of laughs after a few beverages.

by Anonymousreply 34September 11, 2017 9:19 PM

Bulgy, creepy eyes. Always looks like she has a cold. Nope.

by Anonymousreply 35September 11, 2017 9:44 PM

I like her. Although, I hated La La Land and wish she won her Oscar for something else.

by Anonymousreply 36September 11, 2017 10:55 PM

I like her too. But this is the DL. In a few years time you all will hate her. Five or six years ago everyone here loved JLaw. Such a fickle crowd my DL brethren tend to be...

by Anonymousreply 37September 11, 2017 11:00 PM

I love her and La La Land.

by Anonymousreply 38September 11, 2017 11:11 PM

Her first big break was in Superbad and I remember finding her very likable in it.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 39September 11, 2017 11:12 PM

LOL. She seems nice and is a serviceable actress, but she's totally shrug-worthy. JLaw is overexposed but has far more natural talent.

by Anonymousreply 40September 11, 2017 11:26 PM

Unattractive and unappealing.

by Anonymousreply 41September 12, 2017 12:02 AM

Actually, her first big break was winning the part of Laurie in the "Next Partridge Family". Christian Slater's mom was one of the judges and said from day one, you knew this girl was a star. Teddy Geiger was a finalist for Keith but didn't win.

by Anonymousreply 42September 12, 2017 12:36 AM

R37, I NEVER loved JL!

by Anonymousreply 43September 12, 2017 12:46 AM

She's one of the few younger actresses whose hype is warranted. There's something so refreshing and charismatic about her. I haven't seen her give a bad performance yet.

More surprisingly, she was incredible on stage in Cabaret a few years ago. Most film actors get lost up there, but she owned that stage. I'd even say she was in the top 5 bet Sallys I've seen. Hysterically funny, touching, and disturbing when needed.

by Anonymousreply 44September 12, 2017 4:43 AM

She's not Jennifer Lawrence, which is a huge plus in my book. Handled the La La Land / Moonlight Best Picture snafu pretty well. Likable, talented, and attractive enough.

by Anonymousreply 45September 12, 2017 4:53 AM

She's likable but I can't stand the lisp. I can't take her seriously as an adult. Same with Drew Barrymore who I can't stand is a terrible actress. She's a decent actress but I do think JLaw has IT more and is a better actress. That lisp limits Emma IMO.

by Anonymousreply 46September 12, 2017 4:59 AM

[quote]I like her and like her work. She has amazing eyes.

R33, she certainly does.

by Anonymousreply 48September 12, 2017 5:07 AM

When I first looked at the picture at the very top I thought it was Lindsay Lohan. She is usually very attractive but looks terrible in that picture. Emma looks much better with red hair and a few more pounds on her. She does seem more stable than other actress her age. I'll give her a thumbs up.

by Anonymousreply 49September 12, 2017 5:12 AM

I've meet Emma before, she was a very lovely woman.

by Anonymousreply 50September 12, 2017 5:21 AM

She's a full blown addict and fame obsessed. She wanted to be a singer. Failed. Tried acting. Did "many things" to climb the ranks. If her real story ever got out she'd be finished in a blink of an eye.

by Anonymousreply 51September 12, 2017 5:51 AM

Oh wow ANOTHER WHITE ACTRESS being pushed down our throats! SHOCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 52September 12, 2017 6:26 AM

Tell us more, Erna.

by Anonymousreply 53September 12, 2017 8:03 AM

Shut up, r51!

by Anonymousreply 54September 13, 2017 3:53 PM

I never liked her deep voice and she looks ghastly with blonde hair - better with red hair and more weight, her face looks really wrinkled for her age from losing too much weight.

by Anonymousreply 55September 13, 2017 5:08 PM

WTF is an Emma Stone?

by Anonymousreply 56September 13, 2017 5:11 PM

She seriously owes here career to Lohan. If Lohan hadn't been such a fuck up, Emma wouldn't have had a career.

by Anonymousreply 57September 13, 2017 5:12 PM

She and J-Law still scissoring on the regular? They've been pictured a lot the last week and someone saw Emma and her exiting a hotel room in Toronto at the wee small hours.

by Anonymousreply 58September 14, 2017 8:26 PM

She looks like such a self-satisfied cunt.

by Anonymousreply 59September 14, 2017 8:32 PM

[quote]Such a fickle crowd my DL brethren tend to be...

That is hardly the DL, just human nature broadly.

People like someone when they are more of an underdog success story, they become at the top of the spotlight and overexposed and then it becomes popular to hate them. Familiar and well worn cycle.

by Anonymousreply 60September 14, 2017 8:34 PM

Can you imagine her spreading that prolapsed cunt for rich movie exec dick?

by Anonymousreply 61September 14, 2017 8:37 PM

She looks terrible in OP's pic, but I'll guess OP picked that one on purpose.

by Anonymousreply 62September 14, 2017 8:49 PM

I don't like her. I Hated her on Zombieland & The Amazing Spider-Man, and I haven't watched anything else she's in. but I do agree that compared to Jennifer Lawrence she's not much of an attention whore.

it is fucked up in my opinion that both of them get paid more than Julia Roberts.

by Anonymousreply 63September 14, 2017 8:55 PM

[quote]I Hated her on Zombieland & The Amazing Spider-Man, and I haven't watched anything else she's in

You seem to have amazing taste in movies...

by Anonymousreply 64September 14, 2017 9:00 PM

She's the perfect combination of cute & sexy.

by Anonymousreply 65September 14, 2017 10:18 PM

Soon enough the world will passingly mention Emma who?

by Anonymousreply 66September 14, 2017 10:53 PM

by Anonymousreply 67September 14, 2017 11:03 PM

I think she's one of the most beautiful actresses in the world.

by Anonymousreply 71September 14, 2017 11:37 PM

No I love her shut it.

by Anonymousreply 72September 16, 2017 7:44 PM

I like her fine but she is not a famous beauty.

I never understand why liking someone means you need to exaggerate their looks.

by Anonymousreply 73September 16, 2017 7:53 PM

I think absolutely nothing of her, or should I say, about her, unless she's brought up.

I loved her in Easy A. That's about it.

by Anonymousreply 74September 16, 2017 7:58 PM

Loved Easy A!

by Anonymousreply 75September 17, 2017 2:57 PM

Emma was NOT photographed flatteringly in LaLaLand. Yet, her personality was apparent. She was definitely that cool girl you see in LA trying to make it on her own terms.

by Anonymousreply 76September 17, 2017 3:03 PM

What's up with her? It's so odd she's in complete ascension after her Oscar and on the full campaign for the tennis movie but we have no clue who she's dating in her private life. I don't remember a star actress of this level with such anonymity relative to her personal relationship levels. Garfield fauxmance was ended and it's been nothing since.

Anyone on the inside have the dope on who is getting in between those ice-white thighs?

by Anonymousreply 77September 18, 2017 7:58 PM

We know very little about her, this is true. Makes me think many skeletons exist in her (ahem) closet.

by Anonymousreply 78September 20, 2017 5:43 PM

her face is weird, but I like her

by Anonymousreply 79September 20, 2017 5:47 PM

I mean there have always been gossip r77 that her and Garfield were two people who both prefer the same sex who enjoyed bearding for each other.

It is very easy to see that both could both be gay. Neither one has been involved or seen with anyone since their relationship.

by Anonymousreply 80September 20, 2017 6:00 PM

Trashy cunt with smoker breath and voice

by Anonymousreply 81September 20, 2017 6:54 PM

Her bulging eyes are a result of Grave's disease, which she had had since age 12. If you see pics of her as a shall child, they look normal.

by Anonymousreply 82September 20, 2017 7:11 PM

R79, She said the same about you!

by Anonymousreply 83September 20, 2017 11:53 PM

Needy as fuck. A good likeable movie star in the Meg-Sandra-Julia mould, but I don't rate her. Super annoying.

by Anonymousreply 84September 22, 2017 10:35 AM

So unattractive in The Help, which is when I first start hating her. Pale grey skin and hravy coloured hair.

by Anonymousreply 85September 22, 2017 10:37 AM

I find her and most celebs totally unremarkable

by Anonymousreply 86September 22, 2017 11:34 AM

I think she's adorable and talented, though she's no Streep or Rowlands. There's something about her.

by Anonymousreply 87September 22, 2017 4:24 PM

What does trashy cunt mean?

Dirty puss from being unclean and a whore .... or her personality is that of a dirty rude pigeon?

And she has dragon breath as well?

I'm not sure if I'm turned off or on by this.

by Anonymousreply 88November 10, 2017 9:29 PM

Autism, R88?

Anyhoo, she is dating a hairy-looking SNL writer/director now.

by Anonymousreply 89November 10, 2017 9:36 PM

In the Sony email leak, there were a few mentions of Andrew and Emma making out when they were supposed to be mingling.

by Anonymousreply 90November 10, 2017 9:39 PM

R90 do you have a link? I thought andrew was gay

by Anonymousreply 91November 12, 2017 3:32 PM

Love her. Hated JLaw in the only movie I saw her in, which I could not sit through because of her.

by Anonymousreply 92November 12, 2017 3:38 PM

She and J Law are a funny pair, I can't seem to understand why they are such good friends. Emma seems so witty and interesting and a true talent who appreciates Chaplin, Woody Allen and Sidney Lumet's Network. She can sing, dance, all rounder and loves Keaton and Gilda Radnor.

Lawrence is a beer swilling frat-and-sorority Kentucky fart and burp contest winner who talks about cheeseburgers, vomit, and her frequently explosive bowel movements.

What gives? And yes, Emma's a lesbian and Garfield (Andrea, to those in the business) is sweet as well.

by Anonymousreply 93November 12, 2017 6:35 PM

Maybe Emma enjoys Jennifer's free-spiritedness, R93. Emma seems a little uptight. Wish I could believe you about her being a lesbian, but all her relationships with men seem genuine, even the relationship with Garfield.

by Anonymousreply 94November 13, 2017 12:16 AM

I've never seen a film with her.

by Anonymousreply 95November 13, 2017 12:19 AM

Correction: I did see Spider-Man, but didn't notice anyone was in it except for Andrew Garfield. And maybe Rhys Ifans and the old parents.

by Anonymousreply 96November 13, 2017 12:20 AM

She has the worst taste in men

by Anonymousreply 97November 29, 2017 8:55 PM

She needs to be smart with her fortune. Hollywood isn't kind to ageing women. But she has nothing to worry about as of now.

by Anonymousreply 98November 29, 2017 9:07 PM

Looks like the most adorable chihuahua ever.

by Anonymousreply 99November 29, 2017 9:16 PM

I like her better than Jennifer Lawrence (who is a decent actress, but kind of a crude goof.)

Jesus I'm shocked. Why don't these closeted lesbians in Hollywood beard with straight men at the very least?

It might as well be Alan Cumming or Neil Patrick Harris she's walking with. That boy right there is EXTRAORDINARILY gay.

by Anonymousreply 102December 10, 2017 7:12 PM

love her face, love her big bright eyes & love her acting! she's like a classy lilo that was brought up with stable parents.

by Anonymousreply 103December 10, 2017 7:13 PM

...oh and i love her voice too.

by Anonymousreply 104December 10, 2017 7:14 PM

i like her as an actress, she's talented and funny. She lacks any sex appeal, tho. Lindsey (whose career Emma "stole") could be quite sexy in her heydays.

by Anonymousreply 105December 10, 2017 7:29 PM

I like as well (and, as someone said upthread, I have never seen Jennifer Lawrence in any movie). I wonder if Emma will ever come out...

by Anonymousreply 106December 10, 2017 7:46 PM

I like her a lot. She really was great in Easy A, and has continued to perform well in a broad array of roles since then. She also has that next-door vibe Jennifer Lawrence had but doesn’t ruin it with aw-shucks-I’m-a-gorgeous-dork-tripping-in-a-designer-gown schticks. Her public persona isn’t strong enough so far to interfere with the likable actress. But backlashes are inevitable in Hollwood, so we will all have good or bad reason to dislike her soon enough.

Speaking of which, I saw Nicole Kidman WHO HAS NEVER HAD A POKE, A NIP OR A TUCK IN HER LIFE selling miracle anti-aging skin cream on my TV at 4 am. First of all, who do you think you’re kidding, Neutrogena? Secondly, why does an AAAAA-list actress slum it selling lotions, anyway? I guess it’s hard to turn down millions for a few hours of work, but cmon, give a junior league member a job.

by Anonymousreply 107December 10, 2017 8:06 PM

A friend of mine thinks Emma has the career and many of the same roles Lindsay Lohan would have had if she could have just kept her shit together. Maybe he’s right. What say DL?

by Anonymousreply 108December 10, 2017 8:39 PM

R108, see R105 and R103.

by Anonymousreply 109December 10, 2017 8:44 PM

Whoops! Should have read through the thread more carefully.... oh well I guess I see that some people agree with my friend Julie.

by Anonymousreply 110December 10, 2017 8:46 PM

I think her looks and her willingness to enter a Hollywood ordered relationship is what gets her roles, but definitely not her talent, or rather lack of it.

by Anonymousreply 111December 10, 2017 8:49 PM

She isn't really in anything good coming up. Possibly a film by the director of "The Lobster" but that could be terrible as well.

by Anonymousreply 112December 10, 2017 9:02 PM

Nicole Kidman actually looked ok in The Killing of a Sacred Deer.

Was she really selling something on TV at 4 AM? She must be crazy for money. Wouldn't she have tons by now?

She and Jennifer Lawrence both have very "now" type looks. If you are around young people, you will see they have the look and mannerisms of a lot of young people. I think Jennifer is the better actress but Emma can be ok.

I think Emma is a good actress, as is Jennifer Lawrence. Emma has done more comedies or roles with comic aspects and Jennifer has done more dark dramas, or at least dark characterizations. The more dire the role, the more likely we are to perceive “good acting”—desperate characters win Oscars—but everyone agrees that comedy is harder once they try it. Give Emma the credit she deserves. She brings levity to the screen when it’s called for, and I appreciate that today.

by Anonymousreply 119December 10, 2017 9:22 PM

Yes, it is that very quality that you mention that is her best quality, R119. That is why I went to La La Land. I really needed to something upbeat and light, and I could see her appeal for once (which I did not really see in Birdland). She hasn't really been tested in terms of dramatic roles, though.

by Anonymousreply 120December 10, 2017 9:26 PM

R120 No, but maybe her gift is comedy. There are plenty of other serious comic actors and actresses out there. Not everyone has to be the strung out hooker or the battered wife or the rape survivor or the feminist icon in a biopic.

by Anonymousreply 121December 10, 2017 9:30 PM

Since she’s part Hawaiian she’s a POC.

by Anonymousreply 122December 10, 2017 9:35 PM

[quote]................. or the feminist icon in a biopic.

Emma got great reviews for Battle of the Sexes so I fail to see why she should limit herself from taking those roles, or any of the other types of roles you mentioned R121.

by Anonymousreply 123December 10, 2017 9:37 PM

she was briefly a Woody Allen's "muse". Did she comment about "Dylan's truth"?

Yes, I agree R121, but also agree with R123

She was an excellent Sally Bowles in Cabaret on Broadway, which is a role that balances humor and drama fairly well. I thought she was incredibly funny in the role and also heartbreaking. If they remake Cabaret with her in the role, I think people would see what she can really do.

by Anonymousreply 127December 12, 2017 2:41 AM

She remind me of trailer trash! Low brow, low class.

by Anonymousreply 128December 12, 2017 3:24 AM

Saw her "boyfriend" with several other gay men at the Knicks game last night v the Lakers. They were sitting right behind the Knicks bench in amazing seats. And yes, he's definitely a faggot as Alec Baldwin would say.

by Anonymousreply 129December 13, 2017 7:36 PM

She's of Swedish descent, I always thought she was Jewish, well, with a name like Stone, which was changed from Sten. Emma is also German, English, Scottish, and Irish. She does look a bit like the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend lead actress Rachel Bloom, who is Jewish.

by Anonymousreply 130December 13, 2017 7:41 PM

Who are you talking about, R129, her "boyfriend"?

by Anonymousreply 131December 13, 2017 8:02 PM

Very unattractive. Her bland looks, paired with Ryan’s bland looks, ruined La La Land for me. Glamorous, attractive leads were needed in that movie. I don’t get the hype.

It's a shame that it doesn't seem that any of the THEATAH queens have entered this thread (maybe they have, and I'm stupid, which is highly likely). One of them pointed out how wonderful she was doing 'Cabaret' on Broadway. If I'm repeating something, flail all your purses, as is your wont.

More like a hairysexual, R135.

Saw her in the Favourite. She was magnificent, witty, mischievous and deliciously cunning all in one. She has improved herself as an actress since the Spider-Man days. Oh, and her scene with Coleman is a riot!

People like Emma Stone. No one likes Jennifer Lawrence.

I can't take her lateral lisp. Her tongue might be too wide for her mouth.

I, too, saw her in Cabaret and she was easily the best Sally Bowles since Natasha Richardson. Incredibly funny, charming, sexy, manipulative, pathetic, and even a bit scary at times. Really brilliant work. Her singing voice was a bit stronger than it was in La La Land if you can believe it and she carried off the musical numbers with panache. I'd love to see her on stage again.

Most film actors can't carry off stage work since they don't have the luxury of multiple takes and a whole day spent on one scene. You have to really know your shit and Emma knew what she was doing out there. I bet she'd make a terrific Charity in Sweet Charity in a few years.
