I never joined a frat, but my Roommate in college did... he didn't live in the Frat-house , but stayed at our apartment. During my senior year in high school, I was "outed" by a classmate, Jerry W. How he found out I have no idea, but my remaining time was pure hell. Classmates told various teachers they didn't want to sit near me, a bottle of Listerine was on my homeroom desk at Christmas. I vowed entering NYU to never have a repeat and trust no one. When I was at UNC in early 80s there were a lot of closeted guys in fraternities. They got off on the brotherhood thing. I was in Lambda Chi. Some of the initiation stuff was pretty gay.

R54 yes. At my school, UT-Austin, the fraternities and sororities refused to allow minorities in, so the university no longer recognizes them as official groups. So any events, etc cannot be held on campus.
