He only made a couple of porn films back in the 1970's and a few shorts but he gained a huge cult following and was wined and dined by famous friends.
Are you familiar with Peter Berlin, celebrated porn star of yesteryear?

Oh, yes, I am

Is he still alive?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 2, 2017 2:03 AM |
Yes, he's still alive. Born in 1942, making him 75 this year.

Armin Hagen Freiherr von Hoyningen-Huene a/k/a Peter Berlin is 72 years old and still has that huge cock.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 2, 2017 2:07 AM |
I had a body like that in the '80s. Swoon/
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 2, 2017 2:08 AM |
oops. 75 years old.

Peter Berlin with the blond pageboy haircut and wearing very tight clothes on his sexy body giving him that Tom Of Finland look. Still lives in San Francisco where he has been for years. I wonder what he looks like now?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 2, 2017 2:12 AM |
Gezz, haven't heard his name in decades.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 2, 2017 2:15 AM |
He was hot!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 2, 2017 2:17 AM |
Yes, World of Wonder has some sort of dealings with him - color me shocked.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 2, 2017 2:26 AM |
There was an interesting documentary about him a few years back. At the time, he was living in San Francisco (not sure if he still does) and looked pretty good for his years.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 2, 2017 2:26 AM |
Yes. I remember when he was first featured in After Dark magazine. Thought him nothing spesh even then. Go to certain parts of Europe, throw a rock, & you'll hit a dozen. The portrait Tom of Finland did of home is great though, and it's nice to hear that he could still make a living posting out photos of himself, but God, what a bore. The sad thing is that fashion photographers never picked up on him: think of the imagery could have been made with Verushka & he. I suspect if he'd pushed he could have broken through but lacked the drive. I thought Peter Hinwood in his youth (years before he became the monster in Rocky Horror) far sexier -- and smarter. For a time he even had the same 70s page boy hair cut as Berlin.

I don't think he was an L icon.

R18 lol not
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 2, 2017 2:52 AM |
Article at r17, why don't they just say gay icon?!?! This whole alphabet soup shit is annoying. Lesbians and bisexuals weren't obsessed with him, and trannies didn't exist in the lexicon back then...

I'm wondering how he survived the plague years?!?!?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 2, 2017 4:44 AM |
He was like me, only ugly and a decade earlier

R21, from what I've read about him, I don't think he had all that much sex. He is very much an exhibitionist and loves being cruised, but sex isn't that important to him. It's the chase that really turns him on.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 2, 2017 9:27 PM |
At 7", he's big, but I wouldn't say he was huge.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 2, 2017 11:35 PM |
Yeah his cock isn't huge.
I had never heard of him but this thread inspired me to watch the documentary about him. It was pretty interesting, he was definitely a character.
And r26 is correct, the film made it clear that he was much more of an exhibitionist than a slut. In spite of his super slutty persona, he didn't actually sleep around that much.

R21 I read in Butt magazine how he is not into anal sex, he did it in the 1960s or maybe very early 1970s with his partner Jochim maybe 2-3X and did not like it.
Is it true you’ve never been into fucking? Thank god! The fear of needles and the dislike of penetration saved me from being dead now. So you don’t like being fucked, but do you like being the fucker? No. I always believe in what you do well, you have to receive well. I don’t believe in the notion of ‘Oh, I just fuck’ or ‘I just get fucked’. This idea of penetration is put there by nature in order for people to have babies. And now people feel they have to transpose it — especially when it comes to gay sex. If you really like it then there’s nothing wrong with that, of course. I had thousands of men in my life — in the early days I did more physical things. I have fucked and I’ve gotten fucked — three times in my life, by Joachim. But the fact that I didn’t enjoy fucking is what saved me. On the other hand, I sometimes think — and it’s terrible to say this — but I’ve had a good life and I’m ready to go. Not that I want to die, you understand. But all my friends are gone, and I miss them so much. I realise that sharing life and having friends is the most important thing. Forget money, forget fame, forget a career. It’s all baloney. The great gift of life is friends. And since I don’t have them anymore, I’m really aware of it — I talk to them. I mean literally — I’m on the street and I talk to them.

R29 - great quote. Seems like a decent person.
His body was perfect - not overly worked out, a perfect T. But true, lots of Euros with that body. Very classical look.

He arrived in SF at the same time my husband an I did when we were gaylings. He was everywhere. Leather, skimpy shirt etc. we would see him on Polk st. posing. He would show up at the baths as a well. Sexy but kind of boring after a while. Never saw him pick anyone up.

Yes, we're familiar with him.

I like the way his hips jut out, perfect to hold on to while drowning him in a toilet bowl.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 7, 2020 4:22 AM |
He had a great, very specific look. But that was about it. The documentary is worth watching.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 7, 2020 4:57 AM |
I watched half of the documentary R43, it was not bad but after 30 mins the same guests being interviewed kept repeating the same things over, and over about him.

My favorite part of that documentary was when he talked about how he was out walking when he noticed this guy up ahead of him. He thought he was one of the most beautiful men he had ever seen. He's walking towards him so he is getting excited. Closer... at some point he realizes he has been walking towards a full length mirror and has been cruising, getting hot over - himself! Kind of sums him up I guess.
Of course if I had looked like him I would have carried around my own full length mirror to look at the pretty bird.

Peter Berlin was born December 28, 1942 in German-occupied Łódź, Poland, but he grew up in Berlin, Germany.
