I remembered the case when his name appeared on a "Died This Day" list.

He was brutally murdered just hours after this appearance on, of all things, the Gong Show.

Is that him singing and dancing? The host introduced him as Danny "Trino" or something similar sounding.

The guys who killed Ramon Novarro also got off easy - I think they were both sentenced to life but only served a few years each. They both went back to prison after committing other crimes - I think one raped an elderly woman.

It's funny how so many people assume that because an actor was in a big, splashy movie or appeared on broadway that, financially, they're set for life. Truth is, if their careers don't take off and the offers dry up, they end up living in seedy apartment complexes like the one above. Unless, of course they're smart enough to go out and find work in other fields.
