Dylan and his brother actually have an indie pedigree; the first movie they starred in (alternating as the same character) was Asia Argento's unsettling film THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS.

Say what you will about them, but both brothers have an impressive range and an extensive performing arts resume considering their age. As much as their fame has probably held them back in some ways, their headstart in the world of cinema and television puts them ahead of the curve artistically.

Cole is adamant that Dylan should absolutely never cameo or even set foot on the set of his precious CW drama, even though he doesn't mind his brother watching it. Fans disagree and want to see Dylan put in an appearance in Riverdale anyway.

Edgy-Archie sucks either way but so far watching Cole in it has been one point in its favor, so where could the harm be in going 2x? Yeah, ok, the bros aren't the same person, but they have exactly the same amount of acting experience on the same damn shows. Dylan's good enough to hold his own and make a small role work. It only has to be one episode, as a cute little Easter Egg. Writers could actually do their jobs and get creative, make an original character for Dyl and not refer to the twin issue at all.

Dylan could even play Jughead (Cole's role) in a oneshot alternate/Bizarro/parallel Universe episode, just for shits and gigs?

He was appealing and worked in his role (although not quite as well as his costar Nadine Van Asbeck) in the uneasy NYU-hipster short THAT HIGH AND LONESOME SOUND, dir. Guncheon.

If you listen to the short and don't watch, he sounds just like a younger Ben Affleck in places; try it, it's uncanny. Dylan's looks are interesting shot in black & white rather than color and still very youthful, you wouldn't think him over 21 here (he actually makes a joke in the short about getting carded for beer). When presented in a less polished, 'sitcom' way he can certainly play the part of a lonely street-rat, albeit with a needy & sensitive side. His working history to date has given him some very valuable tools, including an ease in front of a camera and a clear emotive register, however he can tend toward overplaying thanks to comedic roots. Interesting to consider what niche of roles he'll fall into as he ages.

I thought only Cole smoked, but from watching this it would seem Dylan does too. I know he vapes, so.

Back to the important stuff about him. I liked his turn in NYU-hipster short THAT HIGH AND LONESOME SOUND (dir. Guncheon), although his costar Nadine Van Asbeck outshone him somewhat.

Weird to see him in a moody setting, but it works. I completely buy him as a tired street-rat with a sensitive side (although he can tend to overplay at times) and I could have watched him play this character in a longer feature. Stripped of color and the 'sitcom' environment, it's easier to see Dylan has some interesting subtleties of emotion and character that are generally overlooked. There are little shades of something wounded or broken, barely-there but noticeable as the circles under his eyes. I wonder how much his training in the more glossy high-octane world of acting helped him here?

He smokes cigarettes, which is no surprise considering his vape habit but still strange to watch.

He's in Jack Kilmer's girlfriend's upcoming film. Her name is Eva Dolze-- I don't know, some slav shit. Her work is abstract and terrible. Dylan is in a very messy predicament with his now ex gf and I've heard that Cole hit his ex gf.
