Rene and Celine were smart. Her 1990s albums - Colour of My Love, Falling Into You, Let's Talk About Love, Christmas album - all sold huge numbers at a time when people still bought physical media. Plus she recorded many successful French-language albums.

When Celine took her break, she and Rene probably realized that radio was not going to be the same when she returned - and they were right. By the 2000s, many of the female singers who were huge in the '90s like Celine, Madge, Sarah McLachlan, etc., all struggled for radio play.

Celine and Rene saw Vegas a major opportunity to make money but also stay in one place. Celine truly reinvigorated Vegas. It's hard to believe she's been doing it for over a decade. They also made deals for commercials, and perfumes, etc.
