by Anonymousreply 5August 5, 2017 2:34 AM

God damn, the idiots have taken over with this "casted" bullshit. I am an actor in NYC and have lots of sweet but retarded actor friends who say this. They also say "fitted" for the past participle of "fit"!

by Anonymousreply 6August 5, 2017 6:10 AM

Wow, I heard that it costed the studios a lot to hire him.

by Anonymousreply 7August 5, 2017 6:41 AM

I paided a lot of money for these Hollywood releases. No more.

'Addicting' is the one that drives me crazy. The word is ADDICTIVE. 'That new Ben & Jerry's flavor is so addicting'....ARRRRGGGGHHH!!!

by Anonymousreply 10August 5, 2017 8:00 AM

by Anonymousreply 11August 5, 2017 1:55 PM

How did you know he was casted? Did you axe?

by Anonymousreply 12August 5, 2017 1:57 PM

Yes R12

I axed him and he said yes

So then we went to the Port of Authority to get his cousin so we could celebrate by taking a boat ride past the Statute of Liberty. I read about it in the liberry once.

by Anonymousreply 13August 5, 2017 2:02 PM

Dr. Johnson was seated next to a woman at a dinner party. She could no longer bear the stench and said to him "Sir, you smell!"

"No, madam. I stink. You smell."

by Anonymousreply 17August 5, 2017 4:54 PM

The first time I ever encountered this word was after they had cast a woman as the Doctor in Doctor Who. I read so many responses to that news that I stopped being certain as to which form is the correct one. Of course, only the opponents used "casted". Take from that what you will.

by Anonymousreply 18August 5, 2017 5:02 PM

by Anonymousreply 22February 4, 2018 4:02 PM

If the right actors are casted in a film, you have all the right ingredientses for success.

by Anonymousreply 28February 4, 2018 5:30 PM

I knew someone who said “casted” once.

Then he dieded.

by Anonymousreply 29February 4, 2018 5:58 PM

Some weather reporters on TV & radio have started telling us what conditions are "forecasted" in the coming hours & days.

I sometimes shop at a Mexican market, where the signs are in both Spanish & English. A sign posted at the butcher counter announces "ALL MEAT BORNED AND RAISED IN U.S.A." But these people are not native-born English speakers & are going out of their way to help poor monolingual shoppers like me -- there's no excuse for the others.

by Anonymousreply 30February 4, 2018 6:36 PM

Feted - 1. To get shoes sized 2. To ride an amusement park ride and get feet torn off 3. To fall in a Sarlacc pit.

by Anonymousreply 31February 18, 2018 11:12 PM

Almost as annoying as drug vs dragged - she drug her dirty shoes all over the clean floor yesterday. Ughhh.

by Anonymousreply 41September 12, 2018 10:22 PM

Elevenses is actually an acceptable word. It is the morning (11:00 a.m.) equivalent to afternoon tea - a light snack to tide you over until your mid-day meal.

by Anonymousreply 42September 12, 2018 10:30 PM

R42, how about second breakfast?

by Anonymousreply 43September 12, 2018 10:31 PM

Anyways, language is supposubly a living growing thing, but a lot of us get fustrated with those who don't use it the same way we do, irregardless.

by Anonymousreply 44September 13, 2018 2:23 AM
