I don't watch this show but this is crazy. They're killing off the lead character's WIFE on a comedy to make way for Leah remini.

I loved "The King of Queens" with Kevin and Leah. Haven't watched this show, but I will if they reunite on screen.

Is this a gritty reboot of King of Queens?

To be clear they are doing this for the series' second season. As in his on screen wife played his wife for 22 full episodes, and they're just going to kill her off.
This is not a new pilot. Wild.

Baahaaaahaaaa...whooooo...baahaaahaaa

So what?
Why is this a big deal?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 2, 2017 12:46 AM |
How are they going to kill her off? Have Kevin lie on top of her?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 26, 2017 9:34 PM |
They never said.
She was barely mentioned.

I don't suppose anyone stopped and thought how this was going to play to their audience? Why not just have them divorce and just refer to her off camera when dealing with their kids (if they have any, I don't watch the show.)

Kind of arrogant to treat the audience this way.

She was dreadful

Remini's plastic surgery is what's dreadful. She looks and sounds horrible. The rest of the cast porked up. Unwatchable..will get cancelled.

The whole thing was handled very bady and created bad optics for the show. The showrunners should have given Hayes a shit ton of money to keep her quiet how she really feels, very supportive of the show's changes in the press and social media.

The reality is that this show is nothing more than a loose vehicle for Kevin James to do his fat guy shtick.
The wife was irrelevant, the kids even less so.
The son in law & cop buddies are the foils for the fatty routine.
Remind is only there as cheap stunt hoping to capitalize on her Emmy endorsed blather about that cult.
This show will rise and fall with the popularity of Kevin James playing Kevin James...

Savage!

Kevin really thought the audience would go for this didn't he?
Well, he just canceled one of his comedy shows for whatever reason.

The whole family kind of recovered pretty fast from the poor mom's death. The daughter was getting ready for her wedding and should have been upset her mother wasn't there. They mentioned it in passing (I wish mom was here too). I did not recognize those kids from last year. They are enormous. He and Remini do Doug/Carrie. It is a real snoozefest. I was just curious to see how they handled the wife's passing. I don't think I will be tuning in again. As others have said, it is Kevin James' and his fat schtick.

They couldn't have botched this anymore if they tried.

The outrage machine is really scraping the bottom of the barrel for new material
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 26, 2017 11:39 PM |
Rumors are swirling about the Scientology machine being the ones behind the online outrage over this whole 'fiasco' as a way to sink future acting success for Remini...

The joy of performing that Kevin James used to have.
What happened to it?
He seems clinically depressed.

The show is produced by Sony, not CBS.

I like Leah Remini and her Scientology show. Here in this set up not so much.

Did the bride have a bun in the oven, or just the family habit of enjoying sausage gravy as a beverage?

Biggest blunder in sitcom histoire?

Not bigger than Roseanne who made 2 epic blunders 20 years apart!
