Vintage porno help - Falcon's Spring Break
Through an ex who was into 1980s porn I discovered Falcon's Spring Break and I'm really into it.
Any idea whatever happened to the cast? Are they all dead?
Cast includes: Todd Donahue, Kevin Wiles, Tony Marinos, Cory Monroe, Chad Douglas, Chris Thompson, David Ashfield

I know for a fact, one of them is still alive.

Kevin Wiles isn't dead. I think he posted somewhere recently. I wonder if he's still cute. He's still one of my favorite bottoms ever. That boy could take any cock you pointed at him.

In real life Chad Douglas was a big ole bottom and had to learn to act like a top when he got drafted into porn.

I think Chad Douglas is still living.

Chad Douglas reportedly died nearly 20 years ago.
Cory Monroe was alive as of a few years ago although was said to be looking rough.

David Ashfield made it through, I think.

I hate hairless 80's porn

I was born in the 80s so it isn't like I grew up with it, but I am a big fan of vintage 80s porn. Who knows why.

Chad Douglas was the polar opposite of "hairless."

The performers were gay back then. That's why vintage is so much better. The men actually enjoyed what they were doing.

Anyone know how Kevin Wiles is holding up? I think I read that he's HIV+, but then again, did any gay porn stars from that era make it out totally unscathed?

That is false r11. Gayforpay types have always been part of the industry.
Jeff Stryker, John Davenport, Mike Branson etc. None of them identified as gay.

The things I don't like with vintage gay porn are the dubbed dialogue and the background music.

Isn't David Ashfield living on a ranch in Montana or something?

"...David Ashfield...in Montana? "
He's in Montana. His cock is in Montana and South Dakota.

Unfortunately the quality of the films was cheap and most now are unwatchable. And outside of a few directors like Matt Sterling (sometimes) the quality of the angles and such is horrible. These guys felt they were artists and they weren't, so the porn is not very erotic. Just a bunch of weak storylines, horrible camera angles and no action because the focus is always off of it.

Restoring these old films isn't easy and very expensive. The old stock is as brittle as papyrus at this point.
You know, with all the reboot shit going on in Hollywood mainstream I am surprised that there is not a new studio formed specializing in remaking old porn classics with new porn stars who could pull off the look of the 70s and 80s or just modernize the old classics completely.

Chad Douglas died of AIDS. When I saw the AIDS quilt in DC, there was a square that was a memorial to him with his likeness - handlebar mustache and all.
Chris Thompson is a weird character and likely still alive. He was going by the name "Christian de Cannet". He seemed to be an actor/director theater type doing arty stuff in San Francisco or somewhere in California. But he also was putting out ads looking for a sugar daddy/sponsor using old pictures of himself. The recent ones looked creepy.
Word around was the David Ashfield was still alive and living with a long time partner. Hopefully got some dental work since the 1980's.

Ashfield's crooked teeth were a huge turn off. He's lucky he had youth and a big dick on his side.

The big dick wasn't on his side. It was in his middle.

The face was not the "focal" point.
That Chris Thompson was pretty cute and I'm guessing kind of a jerk.

They could be "hot daddy" types. I think that's a market, niche or not niche.

I remember reading a memorial about Chad Douglas, by the family that he worked for. His day job was as a manny to a couple kids.

There was one a few years ago that was sort of like this. It was kind of a remake of "Boys in the Sand" in look and tone, and called "Men in the Sand." It was directed by porn star Jake Deckard.
I have to say, he did an excellent job with it. But the problem was that I'm not sure the market for remakes of 70s porn is really all that big. I'm over 50, and "Boys in the Sand"was too old for me; I think it would really only appeal mostly to guys 60 and up. Now, certainly guys that age deserve porn too, but that's really limiting your appeal to make a film mostly for them.

I think he was also a barber. Pweople used to be amused by his comments about guys who wanted to get into his "calconcillos"(sp?). He was Puerto Rican I believe. His real last name was
Cox
Yes.

Nobody's going to waste money on a big-budget remake of some vintage classic. Most people just fast-forward to the "good stuff," so most companies just make "sex only" individual scenes these days. And with piracy, no one can afford to do much more than that, or pay the "talent" much money anymore.

I loved Kevin Wiles, especially his big scene in Scared Stiff I believe, when he becomes Tex Anthony's (RIP) new cell mate and both Tex and the guard, played by Glenn Steers I believe, work him over

I love how Kevin is all like, “I don’t know what you’re talking about” and then “you’re not going to hurt me are you?” when Chris/David confront him about being a known cockhound. Then he hesitatingly begins sucking their cocks. But after a couple of minutes he looks up at them and says “if you boys really want your dicks sucked good you need to ditch the clothes!” That to me was the hottest part of the scene!

R23 R27 Chris Thompson had also done some non-gay porn acting in the 1980s appearing as extras in films, but getting a couple of credits as Chris Lattanzi. Allegedly he is brother of actor Matt Lattanzi, Olivia's ex husband. The familial resemblance is obvious.

That golden period of gay porn from the late 70s- 1986 or so, was revolutionary in some ways
I remember turning 18 in 2001 and going to my first adult video store and seeing The Young and the Hung and renting it and feeling like, "I'm OK" , Therr can be FUN in being gay and I also had the biggest thing for Tex Anthony, he was my idea boyfriend, who of course I didn't have , at that time, everything I ever wanted in a guy, the kind of boy next door and in good shape and good looking but in a laid back, masculine cool type of way
I spent years trying to do find out his name, after I started renting and then streaming other gay porn from that period and seeing his beautiful self pop up, eventually I FINALLY found out his name, filmography etc and was disgusting when I found out he died of that fucking plague called AIDS way back in 1992
I hope that he and all the others that we lost from that period knew that they were loved when they passed and that they had a tremendous impact on many gay men's own life and coming of age. That they did matter to people
Also there seems to be nothing on Tex online, not his real name, no print interviews, nothing... Surely there are people on DL who were close with him and may have been with him as he was dying?
The beautiful thing is that these films will live on from generation to generation and inspire other gay teens

David Ashfield claimed to be a total top. He said in an interview he would never bottom on film or in private (“not for love or for money”).
