Winona Ryder
Love Winnie. Even through the shoplifting days. So happy she came back.
Beetlejuice, Mermaids, Edward Scissorhands, Heathers, Little Women, Reality Bites, Girl Interrupted, Age of Innocence, Boys, The Crucible, Autumn in New York.
The rewatchable factor of her films is amazing.

O' you rascal, OP! No mention of her rapturous performance as a young, upper-echelon British coquette in "Bram Stoker's Dracula"!

Is the OP being sarcastic? Anyway, "Winnie" is a nutjob and a one note actress.

R5 Fuck! I knew I forgot one. She was so good in that.

I like Winona but I have to agree with R1, there's already an active thread about her that's only a few days old.

I liked her in Pippa Lee, of course she played the bad girl.

R8 About her getting beaten? She deserves better.

Winona rues the day she met Angie.
"Girl, Interrupted" was intended as a vehicle for Winona's awards circuit run at the time. Winona had hand picked and produced the film for such purpose. (It took her seven years to get it to the screen.)
Seeing Angie walk off with the highly coveted SAG, Globe, and Oscar for "Girl, Interrupted," awards she had coveted for a film she produced, must have been devastating for Winona.

"Winnie" is a mentally ill, druggie, shoplifting dip who can't keep her legs closed. Her forte was playing neurotic teenagers. That's how she plays every role: twitchy and neurotic. What was she on at the SAG awards last year? Crystal meth? Poor Winnie; she made such a fool of herself.

R14 And yet, look at Angie now.

Go suck Winnie's shopworn vagina, Cher, you senile old bag.

R20...go suck Cher's withered clam. And lick Winnie's tiny puckered anus. And fuck yourself, too!

Winona Ryder was a different type of talented actress. Not super pretty but unique in her own quirky way.
Just as her career started to fade the shopping lifting scandal exploded. And yes, it harmed what was left of her career.
She's still interesting but her day in the sun as a big actress is over.

I'm sorry for her run-in with law regarding shoplifting. On a separate level, I have always admired her work, She was wonderful in The Age of Innocence! When we are introduced to her character in a box seat at the opera...she is the epitome of the innocent, naïve adoring fiancé...she was wonderful!

I directed her in the sequel to The Shining. Private movie.

In what realm is Autumn in New York "rewatchable"?

She'd already been a forgotten has-been for years before the shoplifting incident. She became a has-been while she still had her looks, which was telling. She lost her looks outside of the limelight, all those nowhere years before Stranger Things. She was overpraised as a teen actress, but could've extended her fame longer if she'd chosen better projects.

She wasnt a good actress, but she lit up the screen in the 90s that people ignored all her terrible acting tics. And she had no competition. Her contemporaries were Juliette Lewis, martha plimpton and Samantha Mathis who were blah. Drew Barrymore and Gwyneth Paltrow came later.
