What happened to her career? ET and The Howling and now in really low budget films.
Same thing happened to Denise Crosby.

She was never great but I liked her. But her husband! He was gorgeous.

She lost that sexy, sexy husband of hers. Very sad for both of them. He was so hot in The Howling, and in life.
She had a cameo part in The House Of The Devil several years back. What a great movie!

I always liked her. She had that likable thing about her. Like Mariette Hartley-likable. That likability thing doesn't necessarily translate into a career filled with strong diversified roles. OP - In E.T., The Howling, and Cujo, she played a (likable) everywoman caught in extreme circumstances.

He died of a heart attack in his early 50s - Christopher Stone.

I recognized her in a kids show on Amazon and wondered why she took the part. Desperation or a favor?

In Hollywood terms, she got old. You hit 40 as a woman and you're done unless you are uniquely talented like Meryl, Helen Mirren, Jessica Lange, etc, or you somehow manage to hang on to audience popularity, like Sandra Bullock. Notice that these What Happened to So and So threads are almost always about women.

She was in that garbage "Lords of Salem" a few years ago. And "House of the Devil" sucked.

R5 I loved Christopher Stone in the Bionic Woman

I always liked her. Christopher Stone was sex on a stick in The Howling. His nude sex scene with the werewolf woman Marsha in the woods was hot AF.

R11 interesting did not know that

I've rewatched parts of CUJO recently and both Dee and Danny Pintauro were excellent in their roles. Extremely convincing.

She's got a new career as a self-help hippie guru—I've seen a couple of recent interviews and she seems very down-to-earth despite her new age enterprise

I used to get her and Melinda Dillon mixed up.

Didn't she play Andy's mom on the Office (US version)?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 27, 2020 9:48 PM |
She took on Speilberg. She lost.

R18 she took on SS because?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 28, 2020 6:53 AM |
She thought she was the star of "ET" and told SS that. She wasn't.

I believe she is a well respected acting coach in H'wood.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 30, 2020 2:52 AM |
I liked her in The House of the Devil

I read somewhere that she had difficulties with Hollywood and acting because of her Christian beliefs. Now she's kind of a New Age religious nut.

She always brings a nice presence to anything she's in and always someone I'm happy to see. Seems like a very nice lady, too. I did wonder why, once she got with Stone, they seemed to be in every movie together. It was like they couldn't do anything without the other one. I wonder if that was a controlling relationship.
She seems to do a lot of z-grade horror movies, but she's clearly paying the bills and she looks fucking fantastic. If she's had any work done, it's been incredibly subtle.

She played the previously unseen long lost Pat Spencer on GH for a few episodes until the character was killed off.

I assume this show never got made. Lily Rabe and Milo Ventimiglia? I would have watched.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 30, 2020 4:05 AM |
Spielberg wanted her to get her tits out for ET.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 30, 2020 4:08 AM |
She seems to be very beloved on the convention circuit. I've never heard a story about her being a cunt to any fans or anything.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 30, 2020 6:53 PM |
She seems to have cemented her status as a b level scream queen by taking on all these low budget horror films. Most women her age would either be retired or semi retired by now.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 30, 2020 6:58 PM |
Hey, she's still working, turning in respectable performance, looks fantastic, and seems like an all around nice woman. She's a treasure.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 30, 2020 8:30 PM |
I always got a slightly nutty vibe from her.
