Boise, Idaho, here we come!
Let's move to Boise!

I've always wanted to live in Coeur d'Alene.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 28, 2017 11:30 AM |
...and watch the Boise State Broncos play on the blue carpet.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 28, 2017 11:34 AM |
Such a fun town. Sublime natural surroundings. Very up-and-coming which I fear will come promise what it is today.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 28, 2017 11:41 AM |
It is predominantly Mormon.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 28, 2017 11:53 AM |
Coeur d'Alene is White Supremacist Central.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 28, 2017 11:58 PM |
It is NOT "Predominantly" Mormon. Idaho Falls is, yes. But not Boise.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 29, 2017 12:21 AM |
Parts of Boise are 50% Mormon, and growing.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 9, 2017 10:16 PM |
Very hot in summer
Very cold in winter
Boring
Full of Mormons
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 9, 2017 10:21 PM |
Boise and Coeur d'Alene, home of the KKK Aryan nation.
The whole state is white supremacist central.
But somehow, I'm sure that R1 knew that. He's just trying to "make America great again."
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 9, 2017 10:22 PM |
R9, that is not true. Idaho is a red state, yes indeed, but it is not white supremacist central by any means. Boise is very purple, unlike the rest of the state.
However, I don't want any of you assholes moving here, so ... keep talking out of your ass.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 9, 2017 11:58 PM |
A lot of Californians have moved there.
They claim the Nazis are all up in the panhandle, way up near Canada and that Boise is actually fairly cosmopolitan.
Waiting on a local DLer to weigh in.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 10, 2017 12:02 AM |
Isnt R10 a local weighing in?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 10, 2017 12:08 AM |
Boise is cosmopolitan. A lot of bars, restaurants, music, and other cultural events, bike friendly, countless outdoor activities around the city, including miles of trails in the surrounding hills that you can walk right into from quaint residential neighborhoods. I'm not a local but would be very happy moving there.

Anybody else ever read "The Boys from Boise"?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 10, 2017 12:16 AM |
Yes, Boise is the home of large communities of klansman, survivalists, and other favors of Republican. There may be a few Democrats but the city is FAR from "purple."
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 10, 2017 12:20 AM |
R14, was that about the homosexual scandal?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 10, 2017 12:21 AM |
I wish all the KKK and aryan nation cunts would move to Idaho, so we could tell North Korea exactly where to aim their nukes.
Blow those cunts straight to hell where they belong.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 10, 2017 12:51 AM |
Yes, r16. And it's a good read.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 10, 2017 9:47 AM |
R18, I wonder if that is the book I read. I thought you must be referring to a newer book, but I see the book was written in 1966. I seem to remember that the book was somewhat homophobic or at least had a very outdated notion of homosexuals.
Link below for those who do not know the event.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 10, 2017 10:25 AM |
r1 I always wanted to live there
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 10, 2017 11:04 AM |
I'm going to dye my hair hot pink, OP, with a DA and Elvis Presley sideburns!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 10, 2017 11:11 AM |
Bars and bookstores does not make a city "cosmopolitan". Very few cities, and almost no American ones, are cosmopolitan.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 10, 2017 11:31 AM |
Is there a Girlsie Idaho too?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 11, 2019 11:27 AM |
Does it have harsh winters?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 11, 2019 12:10 PM |
Let's sleep in gas station lavatories this time!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 11, 2019 12:34 PM |
I attended a funeral in Boise a while back. The scenery is beautiful. Nice small city. I could live there.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 11, 2019 12:51 PM |
Is there anything to DO there?
The mountains are pretty, and I guess if I had to be there for a conference or something, I'd be able to keep myself occupied for a day or so.
But it looks like there's no there there.

[quote] I guess if I had to be there for a conference or something, I'd be able to keep myself occupied for a day or so.
Believe it or not many people don't have a need or the desire to be on the go every single day. Many people prefer to live quiet lives.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 11, 2019 2:00 PM |
R23 Boise City ,Oklahoma is pronounced Boys City
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 11, 2019 2:04 PM |
A coworker lives in Boise. She's originally from Denver but moved there for work. She can afford a house there.
She likes her house and her cats and thinks the landscape is very pretty but she hates her neighbors. She says that the "redness" of the state can feel oppressive and that she is surrounded by crazy survivalists and brainless sports fans.
She said that if she wasn't able to escape to Denver for some culture from time to time, she'd leave Idaho in a heartbeat.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 11, 2019 2:11 PM |
I assume it is like Montreal with that French name. They speak French there? Lots of cute French boys?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 11, 2019 2:14 PM |
My brother married a Mormon girl and moved to Boise. Now, unfortunately, I have to visit once a year during the holidays. Ugh. Eew.
Some years instead of visiting during Christmas, I’ve instead met them during July 4th weekend at Sun Valley (there are direct flights on United via Denver & SFO). Sun Valley is bucolic chic & nothing like dreary, grey, backwards, forgettable Boise.
At least Boise does have a Whole Foods; thanks to the University nearby.
Boise lacks culture, landmarks or any interesting architecture.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 11, 2019 2:26 PM |
R17 is delusional to think North Korea would ever nuke the United States let alone that far into it.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 11, 2019 2:30 PM |
Honey r32, bucolic does not go with chic.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 11, 2019 3:42 PM |
R28 - I wasn't talking about having something to do every single day.
I was talking about having something to do every once in a while.
And your comment - "Many people prefer to live quiet lives" made me think of Thoreau's "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.”

Is there a Pottery Barn or a Crate & Barrel in Boise?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 11, 2019 5:49 PM |
There’s a Nasty Pig outlet store in Boise
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 12, 2019 1:12 AM |
There is not lol
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 13, 2019 1:04 AM |
I studied abroad in college with a group of kids from the University of Idaho. Cool kids -- they sung the praises of Moscow, Idaho but warned about other parts of the state.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 13, 2019 1:10 AM |
I have a client in Coeur d'Alene.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 13, 2019 1:14 AM |
Coeur d'Alene is not even remotely close to Boise, R40. I've been to both cities many times, and spent a lot of time in Coeur d'Alene over the years growing up (had family in Montana and we frequently passed through/stayed there). Coeur d'Alene (and the entire Idaho panhandle) is really quite beautiful, while Boise is more like Utah, except even less spectacular. I actually hate most of Idaho aside from the panhandle region—it's dry, ugly, and full of Mormon spillovers from Utah.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 13, 2019 3:02 AM |
[quote]I have a client in Coeur d'Alene.
And I've got a gal in Kalamazoo.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 13, 2019 4:03 AM |
OP aspires to Nampa.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 13, 2019 4:07 AM |
Look up "Boys From Boise" for more information
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 13, 2019 6:38 AM |
The L.A. police force used to be (may still be, I don't know) one of the most racist police forces in the nation. Idaho, where the African American population is 0.68%, is where many of the racist L. A. cops back when the O.J. trial was going on retired to. Mark Fuhrman retired there.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 13, 2019 10:55 AM |
I always assumed it was a stamping ground for survivalists, white supremacists, hoarders and sex-starved older guys looking for backstreet love.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 13, 2019 11:04 AM |
If you are into white redneck deplorable boys (likely on the dl) you are in heaven in boise.
Possibly the most white place I’ve ever been in my life.
Recently been in Hawaii, SF & Houston [ where white is a minority in each of those places ]
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 26, 2020 11:46 PM |
OP are you saying you want us to have "Our Own Private Idaho"?
I will go if you can recruit Keanu.
