Stafford knew Kimberlin would be back in the role (even though it took 10 years). Stafford gave an interview circa January 2007 where she said that she would only be playing Sheila temporarily until Kimberlin came back and that the role was Kimberlin's.

Whenever the shows would get dull or drop in the ratings they'd turn the show over to Sheila and she'd carry them for a while until they got their shit together. There's way too many times when the ONLY reason for tuning in on both shows were because of Sheila. I was just hoping hoping Y&R got her first and they were somehow able to stitch up the damage they did to this iconic character.

She did not do a bad job, but there was nothing to the part. It could have been played by a random day-player. I remember thinking it was odd they hired her for that.

Bold and the Beautiful is a snooze fest right now and it's a shame they can't find some interesting actors and storylines (the Spectras were best left in the past when Conley died). I think it's harsh and inaccurate to say Ron C 'is' the joke; he certainly had great moments at GH for a good while....I loved Dr. O as Anna facing off against Faison and that mask coming off. How Fin didn't win the Emmy for that is something I'll never get; I don't think she was even nominated.

He originally had Bill Eckert coming back BUT no the fraus guessed it and he changed his mind and gave us the comic book resolution we didn't deserve. That was gracious of him BUT he somehow didn't do those returns properly.

In terms of Y & R, their best era was the late 80s. Yes Miss Brenda Dickson was the most camp thing on earth but she had great chemistry with the other actors. Terry Lester was on point and Eileen Davidson wasn't the greatest actress BUT she also had a certain amount of chemistry with other actors. The first big issue with the show was when Bug became such a focus. It was the ultimate manifestation of nepotism in the business. Bug's mentor was Miss Brenda Dickson to boot!

I know in the world of soaps - evil twins, coming back from the dead, etc. you have to take a lot of highly implausible situations and just enjoy them, but for some reason I have a hard time believing the Eric is so distraught over his wife kissing his son - a betrayal, but not even a full blown affair, that he is letting Shelia take care of him like he is helpless and let her rant at his granddaughter (whose mother Sheila shot). His being so easily manipulated by Sheila, who really is not even hiding her crazy in her possessiveness of Eric) makes him look really stupid and pathetic. Although that might be somewhat consistent for the character.

I don't think Brown is a bad actress, but am seeing nothing new or a different spin on the character this time around, and she has been off canvas so long to force her into a major front burner story seems a little forced. Especially, since the reveal of Ridge and Quinn already had enough potential drama, and if anything, Sheila is taking away from what should have been the fall out from the affair and taking away focus from other characters that were more organic to that story line.

After the actress playing Caroline left, Bill Bell shifted to a pentagon of Stephanie/Eric/Brooke/Ridge/Taylor. Believe it or not there was a time when Steph wanted Taylor out of the picture so she Ridge would turn to Brooke and then she could have Eric.

I am a huge Kimberlin fan, I had not watched a soap in 5 years until she came back. I enjoyed her for a month, but the show itself is just so horribly acted and BORING that I gave up. Even KImberlin could not make it worth watching. I watched each episode in 10 minutes because everything but her was fast forwarded. And what really boggles me is how bad Heather Tom is. I thought she was one of daytime's finest actresses for years, hell, she was even excellent on OLTL (which was at its creative low of all time with that Higley writing it) but this writing on B&B does her no favors.

Patrika was a very good choice for Shirley Spectre. Very believable as Sally's sister both in terms of their physical size and disposition.

I was hoping he'd move Shirley out of the Spectre sphere occasionally to have her interact with Eric and Pam and Quinn.

I think one of the last times Shirley interacted with someone outside either her family or Spectra was probably when Sally jr was having to apologize to the Forresters or when they were staring at Shelia from afar.

They should bring in Brenda Dickson as a new fashion house queen instead of trying to repeat the Spectra gang.
