Hillary Clinton rips DNC: I inherited nothing

Hillary Clinton blasted the Democratic National Committee on Wednesday, saying that she "inherited nothing" from the party after winning its presidential nomination last year.

"So I’m now the nominee of the Democratic Party. I inherit nothing from the Democratic Party," she said during a question and answer session at Code Conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

"I mean, it was bankrupt. It was on the verge of insolvency. Its data was mediocre to poor, nonexistent, wrong," she recalled. "I had to inject money into it."

She needs to stop with the excuses. Even if she is right, it sounds bad.

I'm sorry, but didn't her campaign raise over a billion dollars?

She needs to go away. The party won't build and find a good candidate for 2020 when she is always lingering in the shadows, licking her wounds. I love you Hillz but it is OVAH!..give it a rest

by Anonymousreply 5May 31, 2017 9:16 PM

I wish she'd go away. She's not helping us against Trump in the least bit. It's over. Seriously.

by Anonymousreply 6May 31, 2017 9:19 PM

Can't Hillary and Kathy Griffin go get lost in the woods together? Time for the both to go the fuck away already.

by Anonymousreply 7May 31, 2017 9:22 PM

She really has turned into that one annoying friend/family member who's STILL seething about that bad break up a decade later to the point you dread Thanksgiving and go out your way to dodge her at any other gathering.

Meanwhile, I recall The Pantsuit Jesus demanding during a debate that Trump accept a loss. I notice she and her ilk are hypocrites in that regard as they've not only refused to say she would accept it but also outright refuses to 7 months after the election. #resist #immagonnariot #notmypresident

by Anonymousreply 8May 31, 2017 9:29 PM

So many bots.

So much talking to itself.

by Anonymousreply 9May 31, 2017 9:30 PM

Fuck off with you incessant Hillary threads, OP.

These threads are never started by anyone who voted for her. It's always some grudge holding cunt like OP who cannot let go.

by Anonymousreply 10May 31, 2017 9:31 PM

Hillary will go on about this loss till the day that she dies.

by Anonymousreply 11May 31, 2017 9:37 PM

What is the problem with her pointing this out? She has a good point. She got shitty data, while the RNC raised 100 million to data mine the country and 2012-2016 was spent gathering data in a million places, running dozens of simulations to win, regardless of who the candidate is. Trump was handed this powerful machine, and Hillary wasn't given anything. If Dems want to win in 2020, we need better data.

They also used the data in combination with Brietbart. Watch the video, it's not that long.

by Anonymousreply 12May 31, 2017 9:38 PM

R9 - Because multiple people can't be sick of the Pantsuit Jesus? Do us all a favor and go full Jim Jones with your obsession. Bottoms up!

Exactly, R12.

Fuck you, OP. Again.

by Anonymousreply 14May 31, 2017 9:44 PM

by Anonymousreply 18May 31, 2017 10:03 PM

I agree. He kind of just wormed his way into this whole thing. Made promises like trump that he probably wouldn't have been able to keep but it went to his just like it went to Trump's head. And I don't believe he has ever really accomplished anything especially for the length of time he has been a politician

by Anonymousreply 19May 31, 2017 10:11 PM

Quit whining Hillary. You lost, get over it.

by Anonymousreply 20May 31, 2017 10:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 24May 31, 2017 10:24 PM

Yeah well it's not like she was running against Ronald Reagan in 1980. Sure the DNC needs to be cleaned up, but you ran against a guy who got caught on a hot mic bragging about sexual assault. A billionaire who made his bones as a slum lord, went bankrupt multiple times, robbed people blind with a fake university and couldn't make money running a goddamn casino! A man-child who can barely read! How many breaks can one ask for? If Barack Obama wasn't term-limited, he would've whooped Trump's ass with that same DNC.

Who will Hillary blame next for her awful candidacy?

by Anonymousreply 25May 31, 2017 10:38 PM

well she's only got Bill Chelsea and the son in law and the grandkids left to throw under the bus .... maybe she would have won a ribbon baking cookies .....

by Anonymousreply 26May 31, 2017 10:42 PM

R19 He didn't worm his way in. Hillary was supposed to be coronated but they they needed at least a couple of people to "run" against her so the coronation didn't look too obvious. Especially with the GOP having 15 or 16 potentials to choose from. The DNC just didn't count on Bernie actually becoming popular enough to give Hillary a run for her money and the only reason she managed to shake him off before the convention is by buying him another house.

by Anonymousreply 27May 31, 2017 10:55 PM

You seem pretty sensitive R13 about being called a troll. Wonder why. Nobody even said it had anything to do with you but you responded...

they had better get Someone in there. Biden is thinking about running and he's too old. They need younger people, not those that are way past retirement age

by Anonymousreply 33May 31, 2017 11:26 PM

Hmm. People want Kathy Griffin and Hillary Clinton to "just go away".

There must be a unifying reason why these two aren't allowed to open their mouths.

Can't put my finger on it.

by Anonymousreply 34May 31, 2017 11:28 PM

As long as there are still people who think she was the best choice for the nomination and that she lost for reasons other than being a terrible candidate, she will have a platform for this kind of whining.

by Anonymousreply 35May 31, 2017 11:30 PM

Amen, R35!

by Anonymousreply 36May 31, 2017 11:31 PM

It's fascinating watching how obsessed some people are with Clinton. Sure they'll keep insisting that it's Clinton and the people who supported her that can't get over it and yet... the ones who hate her are the ones constantly starting threads and posting about her. It's sort of like how Janbot obsessively posts about Madonna all the while proclaiming he hates her so much.

1. I wish that the pearl clutching concern trolls would go far far away. Hillary is not insufferable, but you guys certainly are.

2. Everyone here hated Debbie Wasserman Schultz (with good reason). She did was a terrible chair person. So Hillary is really just highlighting what a terrible job Schultz did, and therefore she is merely stating the obvious. Why Schultz was ever elected to lead the party I'm no sure. Other than she being a Floridian (and Florida being a key swing state) ; she clearly brought nothing to the table.
FYI We were also DEAD BROKE when we left the White House! This is the SECOND time I've had to recover from bankruptcy.—HRC

R45 is an idiot.

When the Clintons left our goverment had a [bold]surplus[/bold]. Bill Clinton single handily turned around the weak economy that Bush Sr. left us. The Clintons create 22 million steady jobs over the course of 6 years, never achieved before or after their exit, and strengtend our international ties with Europe and Asia. We were so well positioned that it took Bush Jr. an entire term to undo all the progress the country had made.

by Anonymousreply 52June 1, 2017 12:37 AM

R52 I think you misread that post or what the person was saying.

When the Clintons left the WH they were in fact broke. Hillary is the one that dug them out of the financial mess.

by Anonymousreply 53June 1, 2017 12:43 AM

Trump was the terrible candidate. The fact the he still won makes me think this was more than just Russia's interference. That may been created as an obvious excuse for the Republicans actually stealing the election.

by Anonymousreply 54June 1, 2017 12:43 AM

The DNC needs to identify where they failed and they did by assuming that the rust belt did not need to be paid attention to. Some fucked up in that area. There data was wrong.

We need to not fuck up in the future. The DNC overestimated the intelligence of the United States. Alot of outside shit played a role, fake news, comey's bullshit and wikileaks but bottom line was not enough people voted for Dems in the rust belt, period.

by Anonymousreply 55June 1, 2017 12:49 AM
The DNC needs to identify where they failed

Part of where they failed was allowing someone to run on their ticket that wasn't actually a Democrat.

by Anonymousreply 56June 1, 2017 12:51 AM

Hillary is so bad she lost a rigged (for her) election!

by Anonymousreply 57June 1, 2017 1:05 AM

The Data accumulated by the DNC and later handed over to the Clinton Campaign after the primaries was fishy for sure. Remember that the DNC data was inexplicably down during the primaries? That's when the Sander's campaign stole Data from Clinton voters? If the DNC data could be stolen so easily, what would stop an outside influence to thinker with the numbers?

by Anonymousreply 58June 1, 2017 1:08 AM

She's drunk.

by Anonymousreply 60June 1, 2017 1:51 AM

R12 Complete horseshit. Most pollsters including Rethug ones showed Hillary winning. The raw data was in her favor. If she had only gone to Wisconsin, not called the deplorable what they are and not held back her bad health, she might have been President. Now can she shut the fuck up and let the young people lead the Dems.

by Anonymousreply 61June 1, 2017 1:52 AM

Sure, R61. Now can you shut the fuck up?

by Anonymousreply 62June 1, 2017 1:54 AM

I was watching this interview on MSNBC earlier, and I was shocked.

I couldn't believe that she was saying what she was saying. Partly, it was because the interviewers were kind of egging her on with the misogyny thing.

But she was making excuse after excuse, and not really taking responsibility for her campaign.

Then she said she inherited nothing, and that voters were turned against her by these "forces," which were partly because of the political scandals, but she said also because they were "brainwashed" not to vote for someone atypical, who didn't look like them, and who wasn't a traditional candidate.

And I was like, "huh?" Didn't the country just vote for Barack Obama for two terms?

Then she caught herself, and incorporated Obama into her narrative saying, "well he broke through the first ceiling..." and started rambling about something else.

The whole thing was confusing, and now it just seems that she's grabbing at straws and pointing fingers.

I truly think that she needs to move on, because this is going to eat her alive.

by Anonymousreply 63June 1, 2017 1:56 AM

R62 - Are you denying that CNN was insisting that Hillary had an 85% chance of winning up until the day of the election? It's all on YouTube, bitch. And the fact she's blaming the mainstream media (including The New York Times!) of being nice to Trump and nasty to her proves that she's living in Upside Down World. America dodged a bullet. I believe I read in SHATTERED that the DNC under Donna Brazile was very concerned in the fall about how things were going. However, they were told by Mook & Co. "Back off, we got this!" He admitted to Hillary on election night that the problem lay with the fact that he and the campaign had been operating under faulty data that he had used to save money. Nothing to do with DNC.

by Anonymousreply 75June 1, 2017 3:05 AM

by Anonymousreply 80June 1, 2017 3:23 AM

It should be Hillary heading the DNC since Perez was such a disappointment.

What went wrong with Perez? He has always been a great asset to the party and now he's just allowing Sanders to boss him around.

by Anonymousreply 81June 1, 2017 3:25 AM

R61 - she didn't go there because her analytics didn't show that she needed to go there dumbfuck. That was the point of the post! And that was her point!

The RNC had MUCH better insights into what issues people wanted to hear about, what counties were going to vote for who, and so on. This was a very very big deal.

by Anonymousreply 82June 1, 2017 3:27 AM

Hillary has every right to talk about the loss to trump over and over. The presidency was stolen from her. And imagine how different things would be today if she were president. These are sad and bad times for the USA. At least we get the chance to hear from a sane person from time to time. So confefe that!

by Anonymousreply 83June 1, 2017 3:29 AM

Good for her for speaking up. She knows the truth will be out eventually, she knows what she's doing. There's a reason repugs are afraid of her.

by Anonymousreply 84June 1, 2017 3:31 AM

Clinton is a not a great / natural campaigner... that's why she needed good data more than Bill would have in the past. She was driven by focus groups - almost to a fault. In statistics, it's garbage in - garbage out. And because she had garbage, it's easy to see why she made the mistakes she did on TOP of the fact she wasn't the best / most charismatic person in "candidate mode". The DNC was coasting on Obama's 8 years and the RNC was hungry as hell. 100 million to spend on analytics is insane, but they were desperate to win. To augment this, Brietbart was tied in with the data analysis because the issues that bothered people in every part of the country were well understood.

by Anonymousreply 85June 1, 2017 3:31 AM

It's funny that people want Hillary to go away and shut up so badly... no one's forcing you to watch her. And guess what? As long as they want to keep dragging her name out, and it's always about something that's already been proven false, in hopes to distract from the shit that they're doing and getting caught in? Oh well!

by Anonymousreply 86June 1, 2017 3:32 AM

....and Brietbart honed in on those issues and beat them like a dead horse. When the issues weren't big enough, they (and other repub outlets) made the stories more absurd than they ever should've been. People were 100x more concerned over her emails than the fact they could lose all of their health insurance. Though I think Trump promised nobody would lose anything during the campaign actually. I forgot already since he lies about everything - it's too hard to keep up.

From the background it's clear she'd been invited for a conversation at some kind of tech/data conference, hence this particular angle. I actually found it fascinating. I wasn't aware of the data advantages that the RNC had in 2016 given how much of the air Trump's daily antics sucked up in the news cycle. You'd think, from watching the news throughout the election, that the RNC was in complete meltdown.

God, she's such a wonk. She speaks with the authority of someone who really understands this stuff. But, why would we ever want that??

She's absolutely right, but still... it's pretty shocking @ R109.

We all blamed the Media throughout the election cycle. New York times one of the biggest offenders. We were even going off on Maddow, who was a huge Bernie Sanders fan.

There was a double standard during election coverage from the same news outlets that are now trying to sink Trump. For sure, but I do like how she told the crowd to focus on what was happening in the White House and not to get distracted by the sensationalism of the media.

by Anonymousreply 116June 1, 2017 5:27 AM

She needs to stop.

by Anonymousreply 117June 1, 2017 5:32 AM

Was there a question leading up to her answer? Everybody pretends that she's just wandering around saying things off-the-cuff and then they pick out the worst sounding thing, pull it out of context, and run with it.

Interviewer: What's the worst blue fruit around?

Hillary: Oh, blueberries. They're so sour sometimes. I'd have to say, I wouldn't choose to eat blueberries.

The media is proving exactly what she said. There is a double standard for women. Look how the media faps over Bernie Sanders every time he whines about the Democratic party and the election to understand what she means.

by Anonymousreply 123June 1, 2017 6:04 AM

hmmmm so now DNC and NYtimes is also responsible for Hillary's defeat

by Anonymousreply 124June 1, 2017 6:10 AM

I just watched about half this interview which took place at CodeCon. She was being asked these questions repeatedly and pointedly at a tech conference that attracts a lot of key and C-suite types.

She details the Russian interference fairly well, neither I've read or understating it, but it is unlikely that many people in a post-click bait world will have the attention span to follow along.

How odd...the Clintons stacked the ranks of the DNC for the last 20 years with middle of the road, corporate dems and loyal Clintonistas who worked tooth and nail to keep progressive voices out of the DNC and it's STILL their fault Hills lost.

The Clintons really are something else. 25 years of avoiding any blame and placing it elsewhere.

As much as I loathe the Trump Regime, I'm still a teeny tiny bit glad the Clintons didn't get to go back to the WH.

by Anonymousreply 135June 1, 2017 8:39 AM

I'm glad Hillary is fighting back. God knows they've all been piling on her since November and she doesn't deserve most of it.

People who claim to hate Hillary Clinton mystify me. She's a smart, experienced, centrist Democrat. She's always been reliable, she's actually so predictable that she's rather boring. When pressed for specifics people who "hate" her express their anger and dissatisfaction with lots of things that aren't about Hillary Clinton. She gets used as the "Official Representative for Everything I Don't Like About Politics" more than anyone I've ever seen.

It's worth remembering that she actually WON that election by millions of votes.

by Anonymousreply 136June 1, 2017 8:41 AM

Yes. That's it.

by Anonymousreply 139June 1, 2017 8:52 AM

Some of it is misogyny, R138, but certainly not all of it. She's been on the national political stage for so long, she's come to represent all kinds of things to people. They hate what she represents to them, it has very little to do with her as a person.

Then there's all the "warmonger" and "Goldman Sachs! Goldman Sachs!" comments, all from BernieBros. Not a single Trumpster in there, not even the guy who claims Trump "came out for gay marriage" 30 years before Clinton did.

Yes, R148, she takes responsibility for plenty, even in this interview, which fuckwits like you don't even bother to read or listen to because why bother getting facts when you can just shit your pants every 30 seconds because of your Clinton hate?

She very specifically says that she didn't break any rules with the email server, but that the tech environment had changed and she didn't recognize it, and therefore didn't update her procedures like she should have. Then she says she didn't deal with the scandal the way she should have, that it blew up on her and so much was going on she just didn't spend time on the issue like she should have. She also mentions in the Q and A that they didn't understand how much the WikiLeaks thing affected them and didn't deal with it properly, and that their polling was out of date:
I won Pittsburgh, I won the country there, I won Scranton, I won the county there. But I just got killed out in the country and my numbers couldn’t hold me up. So yeah, we did think... I think polling is going to have to undergo some revisions in how they actually measure people.

She also says straight up that she gave speeches to Goldman Sachs because they paid her. Other places paid her and spoke there, too, and she has no apologies for her GS speeches. (And it was funny because Code Conference ALSO had Goldman Sachs there at the con because they paid them. So she's right when she points out the hypocrisy, though I'm sure you'd say she was just "blaming everyone else".)

There's also an interesting bit where she says that Democrats aren't putting their money into those crazy anti-Obama documentaries you can find on Netflix, and she heavily implies they should have been taking those tricks more seriously than they did, as well as creating their own content:
We are not good historically at building institutions. And we’ve got to get a lot better. And that includes content.

Then there's this:
I take responsibility for every decision I made, but that’s not why I lost. So I think it’s important that we learn the real lessons from this last campaign because the forces that we are up against are not just interested in influencing our elections and our politics, they’re going after our economy and they’re going after our unity as a nation.

There's more in there too, but I'm tired and you're probably not listening anyway. So you can go on and on about how she blames everyone else, but she really doesn't, and I'm just so fucking tired of you assholes saying otherwise. You're just believing what you want to believe, not reality.

by Anonymousreply 155June 1, 2017 12:49 PM

Retard @ R98 - no, I am not saying the field (at which I took masters and PhD level classes) is garbage. If you want to do proper analyses, you have to collect data in a very accurate, precise way. It takes a lot of time and knowledge to gather good data that isn't crap. You can't just do 100s of internet surveys in a rushed fashion ("garbage in") with no money...or it will affect you results ("garbage out"). The republicans had 4 years to do in-person focus groups (expensive and time consuming), economic research, qualitative research, and far more than Hillary could do when she got the nomination and realized the dems had none of this data.

This is a phrase used by ever statistician and researcher in the world. Sorry your lack of education is showing.

by Anonymousreply 159June 1, 2017 1:28 PM

It's understandable that she is going through the stages of grief--and they are not linear. She is going through the anger stage, it seems, and, hopefully, she will reach the point in accepting that she did everything she could. She gave it her all and would have sailed safely home if it weren't for that damned, fat, orange iceberg.

by Anonymousreply 160June 1, 2017 1:31 PM

This story from NPR may explain a lot of where the anger towards her is coming from, and why Cheetoh resonated.

The author's theory is that it's not the One Percent, it's the Twenty Percent, the upper middle class, that has pulled up the gates behind it and made sure that its offspring remain and no one else gets in. Things like restrictive zoning and the usual array of tutors and unpaid internships and the like.

His main point is that that top 20% has not suffered during the past 20 years, while the lower 80% has and that gap is getting wider.

No one is more representative of the upper middle class than the Clintons, who got where they are because they're smart and went to good schools and worked their way up a corporate ladder of sorts (and H was a corporate lawyer).

He posits that a lot of the anger and resentment comes from the feeling that the upper middle class is pulling away and pulling up the drawbridge behind them.

To go from her statement, "I inherited nothing," and arrive at a place that she blames everyone else and takes no responsibility shows you lack critical thinking and vital brain skills... much like Trump. Her response that she inherited nothing had nothing to do with blame or a lack of responsibility. It was a fact. A fact she stated about a direct question regarding where the DNC was at in terms of technology when she won the nomination.

I would give you idiots the benefit of the doubt and say that you're intentionally trying to manipulate her words in order to rile up your fellow morons... but that really would be giving you too much credit.

by Anonymousreply 165June 1, 2017 1:54 PM

One of the more curious elements to these threads is the fact that the Disciples of the Pantsuit Jesus tend to assume that anyone who is not a fellow Disciple worships at the altar of Bernie Sanders.

I'm hoping one of you can explain why you feel it is impossible to view both the Clintons and Sanders with skepticism and yet remain a liberal Democrat.

Where does this tendency to see the world in such stark black-and-white terms come from?

by Anonymousreply 168June 1, 2017 2:03 PM

For all of you who insist that those who disagree with you and fault Hillary for her own stunningly bad campaign are ignoring facts and are willfully ignorant, these are the facts boiled down: --she has never been popular, the majority of Americans have never liked her; --she had tons of money plus a huge political machine she and Bill have built since they left the White House last time, 20 years ago. That's one of the very reasons she got this nomination, not because of a groundswell or a popular draft. --she and her helpers manipulated party rules and apparatus to undermine a very popular rival, in such a vicious way that they totally alienated his voters, who represented 30-40% of the party. --she made the campaign all about Trump, and her own agenda was so well hidden that nobody knew what she wanted to do if she did get into office; --her supporters were hysterical, sneering and even violent, to the point where Trump's supporters didn't look all that crazy to voters.

by Anonymousreply 169June 1, 2017 2:04 PM

The fact that people (well someone) constantly has to talk about how they feel that there are "Disciples of Pantsuit Jesus," ad naseam says more about them than anyone else. I mean, they (he) constantly brings it up at every turn.

R37 nailed it perfectly.

It's very fitting given the anger of her disciples on here. (And to be clear, most of her supporters on DL are NOT Disciples. But the few that are... damn.)

R172 did none of that. They refuted the comment at R169 as being a lie. They didn't just dismiss them by calling them any of the names you mentioned but did so by providing a fact. Her policies were all over her website.

In an idea world, should people go to a website and inform themselves about the positions of their candidates?

Probably. But we don't live in an ideal world.

To win an American presidential election in 2016, you needed soundbites.

Along with an understanding of how the Electoral College works.

by Anonymousreply 196June 1, 2017 3:35 PM

R195 try harder.

by Anonymousreply 197June 1, 2017 3:39 PM

I am really at a loss to understand why the Pantsuit Jesus is doing what she is doing.

She must be smart enough to realize that the spin, from pretty much every news source, left, right or centrist, US or International, was going to be [bold] Hillary Clinton Adds DNC, New York Times, Bad Data To Long List Of Reasons Why She Lost.[/bold]

Not sure how that helps the fight against Cheetoh-ism, the Democratic party, her legacy or Bill's legacy.

by Anonymousreply 198June 1, 2017 3:40 PM

R196 that was an appropriate response to what the person was responding to. Nobody said that that was ALL Hillary should have to do. The person replied to a comment that said Hillary's policies were nowhere to be found and that NOBODY knew what they were, which is false.

by Anonymousreply 199June 1, 2017 3:40 PM

Learn how to read, R195.

by Anonymousreply 200June 1, 2017 3:42 PM

With people like Andrew Therriault on her team, it's a wonder she got as far as she did.

I mean, not even taking into account his claims, the fact that he lost his shit and went whining on Twitter of all places tells me this is a guy who has no business being in a major political campaign in any role.

Especially since Therriault left the DNC midway through 2016! What did he even KNOW about the data after June of 2016? Nothing.

by Anonymousreply 201June 1, 2017 3:44 PM

Bullshit R199

You're being purposely dense so as not to concede a point.

For most voters, her policies might as well have been buried in a hidden treasure chest. They weren't going to go to her website to find them.

Right or wrong, American voters expect the candidate (or the soda company) to tell them why they should select their product. A product or candidate that demands they go seek out the information themselves is fighting a losing battle.

by Anonymousreply 202June 1, 2017 3:44 PM

The money laundering comment was saved by this guy who tweeted a screencap of it:

It's not bullshit, R202. Im not the one that posted it. The person replying specifically replied to someone who said :
nobody knew what she wanted to do if she did get into office; -
They weren't going to go to her website to find them.

Further, as stated above, they weren't just on her website. She did in fact talk about them at the debates and in her rallies and speeches.

I have always said that Hillary and her campaign made a lot of mistakes and one of them was overestimating the way people think and process information. She absolutely should have done more to break down her beliefs into 5 second soundbytes to appease those who can't be bothered. I've always said that.

I mentioned this upthread, but I'll say it again, Hillary's brilliant team blew off the DNC, telling them that they knew best.

by Anonymousreply 208June 1, 2017 3:53 PM

And then they start talking about Seth Rich in that thread so you know what you're dealing witht here.

by Anonymousreply 209June 1, 2017 3:54 PM

That's because this Therriault idiot thought it would be funny to CC the very dead Seth Rich on a tweet about pandas (Seth's Twitter handle was @panda4progress).

Of course the idiot Trumpsters think he "knows something about Seth's murder!!111!!covfefe" but in reality it's just another example of how Dr. Therriault is a goddamned idiot who can't control himself in public and act like a decent human being.

Well, r197, it looks like we can add fanatic along with blame to the list of the words you don't understand. No wonder Hillary's speech went over your head. Have a good one (aka spending all day calling people names, switching browsers to pretend to be different people, talking to yourself, calling people trolls while being one yourself, fanatical defending Hillary on a messageboard as if you're actually making a difference in the world, etc).

by Anonymousreply 212June 1, 2017 3:57 PM

You should read "Shattered" when you have a chance-- about halfway through and it's pretty depressing though very eye-opening

by Anonymousreply 214June 1, 2017 3:59 PM

Endless proof of the mysogeny in America. No one is perfect, but whatever Hillary says or does it's always "she's a bitch/loser/poor campaigner/too strong/not strong enough/"you're the best but we won't vote for you anyway". Every woman who's ever tried to be "something" knows exactly what this is about. America is no more post-mysogeny than it is post-racial. Even after years of so-called gains, the White House looks just like it did in the fifties - a bunch of old white men bossing everyone around and taking all the money to boot. Trump has proved yet again it's any man over any woman. Now you can call me a whiny bitch.

by Anonymousreply 215June 1, 2017 4:00 PM

Well, we agree on that point. I wouldn't say we're in full agreement.

by Anonymousreply 216June 1, 2017 4:01 PM
Hillary's brilliant team blew off the DNC, telling them that they knew best.

I suspect this is true. Hillary's campaign had developed its own top-secret algorithm called "Ada" that it used to crunch the numbers and guide the campaign. They fed "Ada" data from lots of different sources. They were going to publicly unveil it after the election. Obviously, they thought it would become the model for future elections. Didn't turn out the way they had hoped.

Enough R215

There are plenty of female Senators, Governors, Mayors, Congresspeople, State Representatives, Judges and County Commissioners, from across the political spectrum who do not get called out as "bitch/loser/poor campaigner/too strong/not strong enough"

There's a reason this shit sticks to Hillary.

She rubs a whole lot of people the wrong way because she's Hillary Clinton. Not because she's a woman.

She'd be an unlikable school crossing guard, neurosurgeon, or SVP of Human Resources.

It's a Hillary thing. Not a woman thing.
I've asked in other threads but have never really gotten a response other than, "because she's a bitch/cunt." For those who dislike Hillary, what exactly is it that you dislike about her? Why do you think she's a cunt/bitch/etc.?

I'll play R219

She is seen as a know-it-all who thinks she is smarter than everyone else and thus does not listen to anyone else.

She is seen as insincere, adopting any positions the polls tell her to, and she's not enough of an actress to sound convincing about her new position, the way most pols (her husband included) are able to do. That leads people to think she's just in it for the power--she's never articulated a clear vision of why she wants to rule.

The best way I can describe it to you, which is ripped off from a friend, is that people got the sense that if the Clintons owned a company, Bill would be on a first name basis with all the secretaries and janitors and security guards, he's remember their birthday and their families and ask after their kids.

Hillary would always be secreted away in meetings with her inner circle, she'd dismiss anyone who disagreed with her and plot to get them fired, she'd ignore the support staff and talk down to them, mix up their names. She'd throw everyone under a bus, claim she never supported changing the marketing plan when it was her idea... well, you get the picture.

Whether any of that is fair or not--I don't know. I don't know the woman. But it's the image she projects to many (but not most or even all) people.

As I said, I think a lot of it stems from the fact that she's not a good politician and can't muster up the sort of believable enthusiasm needed for the role. (Think of Madonna's acting career, or lack thereof.)

As others have noted on here, she's a brilliant director trying to cast herself as the leading lady and it mostly doesn't work.
It's fascinating watching how obsessed some people are with Clinton. Sure they'll keep insisting that it's Clinton and the people who supported her that can't get over it

She lost. There is nothing being accomplished by Hillary complaining and speaking out. Half of this country hates the Clintons. Yes, he got a blow job. She's an aggressive female. They hate that. The DNC needs to realize that fact. And no amount of Hillary complaining is going to change that. She is coming off like a bad loser. It's making more people not like her. It's making people who weren't crazy about her, dislike her and the Democratic party. I loathe Trump and I voted for Hillary, but it's not productive for her to speak out. She will never, ever change the minds of low IQ voters. NEVER. These are people who use Obamacare and voted for a guy who is getting rid of it. That's how fucking stupid they are. They will not admit trump is a dangerous lunatic until they have lost their jobs, their insurance and/or their homes. And even then a lot of people still would not admit it

The more she talks, the more she is alienating potential voters. And that's fine for her, but she really needs to think of all the other democratic politicians. She's affecting them too

by Anonymousreply 237June 1, 2017 8:45 PM

And the DNC needs to accept the fact that people hate the Clintons and the Democrats. The DNC needs to rebrand themselves. They need to stand up for the people and stop standing up for corporations. But that's not going to happen. It's business as usual for the Democrats

People may not like Bernie Sanders, but a lot of people do like him. He does appeal to a lot of younger voters. Voters the Dems need to get on their side. Right or wrong, he appeals to voters because they think he is on their side. They think he isn't the same old business as usual politician. That's what appeals to all the people who voted for trump. A lot of people who voted for him know he's crazy, but they are sick of the political system we have. I don't find that much of a difference between the republican and democratic parties when it comes to corporations. I only vote for the Democrats for social issues (gay marriage and abortion)

by Anonymousreply 238June 1, 2017 8:53 PM

She can speak out if she damn well pleases. The fact that some shout and tell her to go away and she won't only pisses them off further.. and frankly, I'm fine with that.

by Anonymousreply 239June 1, 2017 8:54 PM
People may not like Bernie Sanders, but a lot of people do like him.

Correction, a lot of people hate Bernie sanders, but a lot of people do like him.

So what's your point? The same can be said about anyone. Clinton included.

by Anonymousreply 240June 1, 2017 8:55 PM

r238 Sanders is not crazy. He's useless. There's a big difference. Beyond those sound bites, there's a void.

by Anonymousreply 241June 1, 2017 8:56 PM

And here it is, mid 2017, and the dems are STILL bickering. Thank you, Jebus for small miracles.

by Anonymousreply 242June 1, 2017 9:00 PM

Whatever this foolish, shallow and duplicitous women does and wherever she goes chaos, recrimination and deception follow. Before November 8 she was a dangerous, incompetent and a menace to the country. Now she's simply pathetic.

by Anonymousreply 243June 1, 2017 9:26 PM
She can speak out if she damn well pleases. The fact that some shout and tell her to go away and she won't only pisses them off further.. and frankly, I'm fine with that.

That's great that you are fine with it. But in the end it is just turning off a lot of liberal voters. No it isn't going to turn them into republicans, but it will keep them sitting home of voting day. The neoliberal status quo ante of Obama and Bill, which Hillary attempted to run on, is the problem. The idea that once we get rid of Trump everything will be fine. It won't. We'll just proceed to the next Trump, who will probably be worse.

The old Dems are simply not the future. Organize politics around younger leaders and win; stick with good old safe faces (from any political strain) and lose. America is still changing and still, even more, angry. The fact remains that the party and the nation are at a fork in the road. If party "leaders" (I see very few that qualify) make the right choice for the people, they will find that the party base and many more will follow them to electoral victory. If they try to enforce "unity" behind past failures, both the people and the party will suffer.

by Anonymousreply 244June 1, 2017 9:35 PM

Thanks to posters 161 and 228 - taken together they explain the election results very clearly. An increasingly stratified society + a candidate who exemplifies that stratification (Hillary's idiotic "deplorables" comment sums it up) sealed hers and the Democrats' fate. And deservedly so.

by Anonymousreply 245June 1, 2017 9:40 PM
I've asked in other threads but have never really gotten a response other than, "because she's a bitch/cunt." For those who dislike Hillary, what exactly is it that you dislike about her? Why do you think she's a cunt/bitch/etc.?

Who knows. But the fact is that half the country has a white hot hatred for Hillary. Fifty-three percent of white women who voted, voted for Trump, not Hillary. She needs to stay away. Most voters will never know or understand analysis or facts. Much voting is emotional and on a personal connection level. They voted for trump because they (wrongly, in my opinion) thought he would fight for them. They didn't feel that way about Hillary. The fact that Hillary and other Democrats don't realize this is shocking to me.

by Anonymousreply 246June 1, 2017 9:47 PM

Forgive me for not being able to make a proper citation, but I do remember reading that the Clinton campaign arrogantly sealed themselves off from the DNC, who were beginning to panic at the numbers in (I think) Wisconsin, and refused to accept their counsel thinking they had it in the bag. Will try and dig up sources.....

by Anonymousreply 247June 1, 2017 10:08 PM

That's how the situation was described in SHATTERED, R247.

by Anonymousreply 248June 1, 2017 10:11 PM

Jesus Christ, the election was 6 months ago. She sounds pathetic. Take a cue from previous losing candidates and drop out of sight (and hearing) for a while, Hillary.

by Anonymousreply 249June 1, 2017 10:13 PM

R237, as far as I am concerned, you can talk all you want about Democrats hating the Clintons, but there is not doubt that if that is true than they hate Sanders just as much. If what you say is true... I don't think it is, I think just the fact that you use the word hate and attribute it to tens of millions of Americans I understand that you see things black and white.

Well, in that black and white word of yours, Sanders is hated too. The Clinton and Sanders are, by your definition of hate, completely even.

by Anonymousreply 250June 1, 2017 10:15 PM

Look here you fools, Hillary Clinton has worked for this DEMOCRACY - this country in extraordinary ways for her entire life and a group of petulant stupid sounding Bots or Gays dont get to tell her to "go away!" "Stop it!" As Flotus she stood up for the women of the world in the US and 3rd world countries. As a 2 term Senator she served this state in REMARKABLE ways - beginning with totally rebuilding NYC after 9/11. Rebuilding public transportation, roads, restoring small businesses, getting lifetime Health Insurance for Frist responders - she has provided 5,000 NYKers with Health care - so who are you to whine "gooo awwaaayy.?" Assholes. After she did that she served as Secretary of State and stood up for Gay people around the world declaring "Gay Rights are Human Rights" demanding countries stop the criminalizing of LGBT people, after she created the first LGBT equality in the US Government.

She doesnt have to "go away." Get it? It is you who are worthless do nothing whiners. Hillary gets shit done. As for her election loss, unless you're from a state is actually horribly gerrymandered and rife with voter suppression you think "its an excuse.' Its NOT an excuse, Fla alone has 1.5 cases of former offenders that are denied voting rights - Fla is one of 3 states in all the US that does that. Creating new Poll Taxes is real - by color by age by economics. Wisconsin IS hugely suppressive of voting rights.

So now we know that Shitstain has increased his Bot count by 5 Million - that explains DL these days. Not to mention the usual misogynistic straggling Berners.... Hillary is a ROCK STAR. She is leading the protests and not for nothing has Trump failed at everything he has tried short of alienating our Allies and dumping the Paris Accord.

Hillary is a million times smarter than that Idiot Sociopath or his screaming old man bookend from Vermont. Hillary knows the score and how to handle this mans shitstorm. The #RESISTANCE is REAL.

by Anonymousreply 254June 1, 2017 11:53 PM

R254, so that's the platform for the DNC? Hillary the rockstar? Pantsuit Jesus Act III? Really? Sorry. No.

by Anonymousreply 255June 2, 2017 12:00 AM

my Opinion: Hillary can and did destroy many a "white men" that got in her way but she couldn't bring down Obama and she really thought she had trump when that nbc video came out but that backfired on her when more emails came out. she failed at destroying him that's what is burning at her now ... she didn't take it this bad when Obama bet her

by Anonymousreply 256June 2, 2017 12:06 AM

R247 the basic premise of "Shattered" is that Clinton was a bad candidate - that "emails" were real. Neither was accurate - totally false premise. Hillary was actually a the most qualified President in recent history - by far more qualified than Biden, or anyone else. She had Peace Treaties, Anti Nuclear Proliferation treaties, rebuilt America's Financial Center, Global recognition and profound respect from every Democracy.

She is quite brilliant and has extremely tenacious grasp of details that create policy - nuts and bolts. She was an IDEAL candidate with a platform that embraced Equality and Justice for all... and demonstrated success of it all. Biden had NONE of that. She was the BEST candidate.

The Media - spec the NYTIMES was a shitty source of reporting and created "The Flawed Candidate-Emails." In fact the WaPo REJECTED that entire narrative, it was the sole Provence of NYTimes. "Shattered" is based on the NYT narrative. Should be titles "False Equivalency." Bottom line was and is, Misogyny, Hillary couldnt make money on speeches, Hillary couldnt pound the podium and scream like those 2 assholes, and she couldnt have emails like every single former President & SOS had - BAD WOMAN = MIsogyny.

America LOVES its big FAT WHITE, RICH, CON MEN, DADDY WARBUCKS - even if it is a criminal grifter like Cheeto. And hates a BRILLIANT COMPASSIONATE SUCCESSFUL LEARNED FEMINIST.... "Shattered" is Shit and built on a false narrative - just like the NYTimes coverage of the election. Maggie Haberman gets a pass - she was assigned to the Grifters pool.

by Anonymousreply 257June 2, 2017 12:11 AM

R256 - Well you're a bright one! "She didnt take it this bad when Obama beat her" that's right Mr ! Because they had identical political policies! He wasnt an agent of a Hostile Foreign Power either! She didnt take it that bad - yooouuurrr right! She is a great Democrat she went to work campaigning for him immediately - in turn he knew that that GWB had strewn chaos across the world and he needed a Known, respected global US figure to rebuild the global trust and stability - HILLARY as SOS. She did a great job rebuilding international unity.

by Anonymousreply 258June 2, 2017 12:18 AM

R254 None of the Trump policies have succeeded. Not his poisonous "American Healthcare" not his "Immigrant Ban" not his Budget, All in all it is pretty fucking successful "Pants Suit" strategy. There is an Independant Counsel, 3 Investigations. Additional successful Pants Suit strategy. How you doing now?

by Anonymousreply 260June 2, 2017 12:22 AM

Doesn't the hillbot brigade get tired of itself? I would've loved to have seen our first female president, too, but we're in a huge crisis here and it's not likely to get better if we keep trying to rip each other to shreds. She made a lot of mistakes and lost to a buffoon. Time to move on. Pants suits aren't going to restore the democrats until another election. We get Pence. Right. Or worse, Ryan. Deal with that, instead of trying to convince people she can save us. She can't. She won't.

Count on it.
Doesn't the hillbot brigade get tired of itself?

Don't you tire yourself out?

by Anonymousreply 264June 2, 2017 12:29 AM

R254, Hillary can stay. She can speak out. She can do whatever she wants. The only thing she will accomplish by speaking out is damaging the Democratic party. You can think whatever you want. I work with republicans. Almost every single person I went to high school with is a republican. I'm the only Democrat in my family. You can not rationalize with these people. They do not want to understand facts. They are like 10 yr olds. They only understand sound bites. They vote against their own interests year after year for their entire lives.

The only thing that Hillary is accomplishing by speaking out is focusing low IQ voters attention to her, instead of what a shit storm trump is creating. These people don't read newspapers. They get their news from Twitter, Facebook posts their other republican friend's posts and faux news. And one thing those sites have in common is constant negative Hillary Clinton news. She's making herself a target. She doesn't need to speak out to me. I have common sense. When she speaks out it's to people who hate her. She'll never convert them. If she had the tablet form for the cure for cancer, half of them wouldn't take it

by Anonymousreply 265June 2, 2017 12:33 AM
the basic premise of "Shattered" is that Clinton was a bad candidate - that "emails" were real. Neither was accurate - totally false premise. Hillary was actually a the most qualified President in recent history

Being highly qualified does not necessarily make someone a great CANDIDATE. Being a good candidate also involves things like campaigning, strategizing, messaging and image. George Bush Sr., Bob Dole and John McCain were all highly experienced and qualified as politicians, and they were all lousy candidates.
She had Peace Treaties, Anti Nuclear Proliferation treaties, rebuilt America's Financial Center, Global recognition and profound respect from every Democracy.

That's great, except that (1) voters cared far more about domestic jobs and the economy than they did about global treaties and international diplomacy, and (2) voters were in an anti-Washington mood. When poll after poll after poll shows that voters hate Washington politicians and that they care about jobs and the economy above all else, it doesn't do a hell of a lot of good to say, "But she brokered anti-nuclear proliferation treaties!!! European leaders love her!!!"
"Shattered" is Shit and built on a false narrative - just like the NYTimes coverage of the election.

Would that be the same NY Times that endorsed her over Trump, and also endorsed her in 2008 over Obama?

by Anonymousreply 266June 2, 2017 12:35 AM

Let's talk about how she's damaging the Democratic party by talking about how dumb Republicans are and vote against themselves. Extremely linear!!!

Yes, Hillary is trying to convert the low informed voter!!!

by Anonymousreply 267June 2, 2017 12:58 AM

What a great loss that she was not our president. She was a [bold]brilliant[/bold] politician.

Unfortunately, this country has sunk to a 3rd world country mentality and we have come to realize that vanity and a lack of empathy is prevalent in our American society.
You create short, digestible soundbites so that people can quickly and easily learn the benefits of your product.

This quote here accentuates the recognition of how our standards have fallen. American citizens are not strong enough to read, research, and use their intellect, and we are destine to repeat the same mistake over and over again.

[bold]All the great politicians of the last 30 years would have lost Trump.[/bold] Obama would have lost against Trump, Hillary would have lost (and lost) to Trump, Bill Clinton would have lost to Trump, John Kerry would have lost to Trump, etc. The problem is not the politicians, but the collective at large. We have stagnated and all fault belongs to us for allowing this to happen.

This is probably the beginning of the Western states becoming their own territories, and I can blame them.

by Anonymousreply 268June 2, 2017 1:26 AM

R268 You lost me at John Kerry. He was hardly a great politician.

by Anonymousreply 269June 2, 2017 1:28 AM

R254 it's fine although peculiar you love the pantsuit bitch so much. Your rant is so cray cray; every piece of it is easily picked apart. I do want to point out that a President is responsible for the United States NOT third world countries. We give away enough $$$ AND FREE STUFF TO the world's losers; your bud Nobama gave away plenty. There are severe needs HERE. Stop worrying about smelly Syrians who do nothing but cause trouble and hate gays. Give me a break with your tales of nice Mulims you know in NY.

R122 - Thank YOU! I find this practice so annoying. When a well known person says something slightly new in an interview or at an event etc, it's reported as though they held a press conference to make this announcement. She was invited to this data tech conference. Of COURSE she's going to be asked questions about the election and without the shackles of a national campaign, she's going to be frank and give zero fucks. And, unlike Trump, she doesn't sit there whining, but instead systematically lays out the case for her argument in detail.

Uhhhhhhh... no. You really are nuts if you think either of them would have lost to Trump.

by Anonymousreply 273June 2, 2017 3:33 AM

CNN's John King today dismissed her excuses by saying, “You don’t understand: The Russians cloaked Wisconsin,” referring to Clinton’s ignoring the battleground state until it was too late. “So she couldn’t find it on a map to get there and campaign there,”
All the great politicians of the last 30 years would have lost Trump. Obama would have lost against Trump, Hillary would have lost (and lost) to Trump, Bill Clinton would have lost to Trump, John Kerry would have lost to Trump, etc.

The same Hillary die-hards who were telling us less than a year ago that Trump was the weakest presidential candidate in U.S. history and that there was no conceivable way Hillary could lose to him are now telling us that Trump was so unstoppable that he would have defeated any Democrat.

So NYT gets no credit here, '08 or '16. False Equivalency - one sure way not to write about all her Excellent DOMESTIC POLICIES that never aired... because emails, says NYTimes.

Damage the Dem party? Oh for shit sake, she just explained to no less than the entire tech industry HOW critical a role espionage & BOTS played in corrupting our Democracy. No she actually made a remarkably detailed informative speaker. She basically made news in an industry that only had a vague clue.

by Anonymousreply 279June 2, 2017 4:35 AM

@R15 That was the problem. Obama gave her nothing. BC did everything but grovel but Barack was like...Nah, son.

by Anonymousreply 280June 2, 2017 4:39 AM
ou really are nuts if you think either of them would have lost to Trump.

Not only would they have lost to Trump, in Obama's case he would have lost by a larger margin. Trump and Sanders' people voted in part because they wanted change (from progress I could only imagine).

Our society has sunk into a deprave state and no politician could ever save us from it. The change has to start from within, the public has to change. This is probably why you'll see the West coast secede.

by Anonymousreply 281June 2, 2017 4:43 AM

Strongly disagree R281

As the article linked at R279 does a great job of pointing out, there was something about her that turned off so many voters. She has many skills but connecting with voters is not one of them

(And yes Cecil B., I know. She won by 3 million votes. But the rock in front of my door would have won by 4 million.

by Anonymousreply 282June 2, 2017 4:47 AM

"...there was something about her that turned off so many voters.... "

Get a large, full face pic of HRC. Now. With a piece of paper or something, obscure everything but her eyes.

That's the problem. No matter her brilliance, her accomplishments or her qualifications? Something about her is....let's just say off putting. Like a submerged alligator with only it's eyes visible. Her nickname throughout school wasn't Sister Frigidaire for nothing.

She cannot control this.

by Anonymousreply 283June 2, 2017 5:08 AM

R280 - Of course Obama only did the bare minimum for Hillary. He remembers back to 2008 when she started the birther shit and Muslim shit (having her campaign manager at the time send info and photos to The Drudge Report knowing that he'd run with it which said campaign manager later admitted) and Bill saying something about how Obama was only fit to fetch them coffee.

by Anonymousreply 284June 2, 2017 5:17 AM

She feels cheated, and wants revenge at this point. It remains to be seen whether or not she could get the establishment behind her for another try.

by Anonymousreply 285June 2, 2017 5:18 AM
She has many skills but connecting with voters is not one of them

And yet they were able to connect with Trump. What does that say about America?

That America [bold]connects[/bold] with messages of racism towards Mexicans and Muslims? It says that America [bold]connects[/bold] to homophobia?

See? At one point people need to take responsibility for their actions. Hillary is not the reason we got Trump in office. It is America that voted for Trump and put Trump there knowing full well the consequences of their actions.

by Anonymousreply 286June 2, 2017 5:21 AM

Muslim is NOT a race, so people who justifiably dislike them are NOT racist, for the billionth time.

Trump and others have NO PROBLEM with LEGAL immigrants from Mexico. Pay attention silly girls, he has a problem with ILLEGALS.

Hillary LOST b/c she was not the best candidate. She has crocodile eyes, lies, the whole "what you mean with a cloth" re wiping her server--all of these convinced me, a Democrat, tat she is the wrong person. I used to like her. But she seems to hate the Midwest, whites, especially men; she prefers Muslims and their big $$$; she smirks and insults 75% of the country.

I currently live outside the US maintaining citizenship. But having a wider world view than just the view from conceited NY or fashionista LA has given me a better perspective on what is happening in the world than those of you who "live in NY." News flash babay: the US is not the power iit once was; NY has not been relevant for years except in the minds of those of who who claim to live there; Obama has made the world a VERY unsafe place.

Ok, I'll play too as to why I dislike her but voted for her because she is a million times better then Trump. But I was for Bernie in the primary. It's Bill. I am a 55 year old woman and when he ran for pres I didn't find him charming or charismatic. I found him fake, insincere, a poser, and smarmy. I did not find them to be true liberals, from DADT to his not protecting the environment until the last days of his presidency when he knew Bush could automatically override it. And knew Bush would. It was a bullshit facade, they were corporate shills like the Repugs. Like most politicians. Bill makes my skin crawl as did asking in the deposition what the definition of "is" is and lying under oath (yeah, I am one of those poor idealistic attorneys). She should have divorced him after she became a Senator. But they are tied together not by romance but political ambition and I don't think she thought she could get there without his skanky butt. And that is where she lost me and a lot of other women, especially younger ones. We want a female president but not one who thinks she needs the force of her political husband, especially a gross smarmy one. And her and the female dems bullshit that women who didn't vote for her were going to hell for not backing each other was hypocritical crap that can be refuted in two words - Monica Lewinsky. Bill was the person in authority with an intern and Hillary attacked Monica and all the women Bill had slept with with gusto calling it a conspiracy when the only conspiracy was Bill had no intention of not giving the Repugs and the press ammunition. Monica's life is ruined and Bill and his dirty bullshit foundation is doing fine. THAT is misogyny. Yeah, the foundation was a problem with me too. Some of you will say it's politics, they all do it, blah, blah, blah. But some of us actually want to bring about political change, not just bitch about it. But like I said. No question I was voting for her over Trump, ever. Just stating why she was never my choice for the dems or the first female president.

by Anonymousreply 351June 3, 2017 12:36 AM

Well talking about hating Hillary is the best way to never discuss the Russian attack on the fundamentals of our democracy. Even Hillary prefers to discuss Putin, 1000+ espionage agents and Putins ownership of Wikileaks and the Destruction of our Electoral process. Hillary is absolutely right to keep this in the news. Putin Russia Trump, Putin Russia Trump... and the end of a trouble free Democratic process in America.

by Anonymousreply 353June 3, 2017 1:58 AM

To the person who asked why people don't like Hillary...

She not a likeable person to a lot of people.

Those who love her claim that it's all a result of years of attacks, but if you had been paying attention you would know that she was not liked even back in 1992 when Bill was running for POTUS.

Consider the story about the focus group reactions to her during Bill's 1992 campaign.
Whatever problems Comey, Wikileaks, and others caused for Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the campaign’s greatest problem was the candidate herself, one of the two least appealing presidential candidates in a century....One can forgive Hillary for not recognizing (or admitting) her own faults. But her staff’s reaction calls to mind an episode from the very beginning of her national political career, recounted in George Stephanopolous’s 1999 memoir, All Too Human.
On the campaign trail in 1992, Bill Clinton campaign’s staff (including Stephanopolous) reviewed focus-group data. Participants had been asked to register scores on handheld meters as news footage appeared onscreen. Stephanopolous and the others could see the scores displayed on the screen in real time, giving them an instant account of the voters’ responses.
And, in this case, the results were ugly: “When a shot of Hillary speaking was played,” he writes, “the line on the screen dropped like a downhill ski run.”
The voters’ reactions to Hillary, however, were much less telling than her husband’s reaction:
“Oh man,” Bill Clinton reacted. “They don’t like her hair.”
It was a delusional (if well-meaning) reaction, and Stephanopolous and James Carville knew it:
Nobody said a word, but James—who was sitting next to me on the couch across from Clinton—started grinding his fist into my thigh. That pressure and the laughter building up inside me made me double over until James mumbled something and burst out of the room. I was right behind him. We collapsed in hysterics the second we hit the corridor. From then on, whenever I wanted to make James laugh, all I had to say was “They don’t like her hair.” To him, it was the single most memorable line of the campaign.

Perhaps Hillary and Mo'Nique could compare notes.

by Anonymousreply 355June 3, 2017 3:33 AM

R354 I wouldn't expect Tennessee (Deplorable central) to feel any other way). The worst reaction about Hillary was that she was not a house wife.

Good for her then, and good for her now!

by Anonymousreply 356June 3, 2017 3:33 AM

Yeah! I don't think anyone is shedding any tears because they don't like Hillary and Democrats.

What??? Where does anyone reference Tennessee? (Except at R356)

by Anonymousreply 361June 3, 2017 4:03 AM

Why didn't she do any of this in 2016?!!!

by Anonymousreply 362June 3, 2017 4:17 AM

She did many talk shows, The View, late talk shows, she was all over the media.

The bots and trolls on this thread are numerous and awful.

by Anonymousreply 363June 3, 2017 4:39 AM

R363 Respectfully, she didn't even travel on the same plane as her press pool for the majority of the campaign.

by Anonymousreply 364June 3, 2017 4:45 AM

R363 Yes respectfully that is true, she was using a corporate lease Challenger - far far cheaper than the very, VERY expensive Boeing 737 she eventually chartered. She was paying a giant bill not only for the aircraft but the massive fuel bill associated with it AND the maintenance and crew. So it is not a question of "she didnt even" that was no choice - she wasn't spending that big money until she was the nominee. Your perspective is totally incorrect. The Grifter already owned his jet, billing the RNC for both the entire cost of flight and the fuel.

by Anonymousreply 365June 3, 2017 4:59 AM

It's funny that Hillary would claim that she inherited nothing, when the total foundation of her position and candidacy was that she was deserved to be president due to her familial and political dynastic rights.

So many rubles being earned.

by Anonymousreply 367June 4, 2017 1:30 AM

I can't remember R364, did Trump travel with his press pool? Srsly can't remember. TIA.

by Anonymousreply 368June 4, 2017 3:33 AM

The Clintonistas really are insane. If you don't support Team Clinton1000% you MUST be a misogynistic, Tea Party, Trump loving, Neanderthal/Bernie Bro (which is somehow the same thing in their nutty logic) that insists the corporate ass kissing middle of the road Clintons are true progressives.

She lost because she's unlikable. And, no one really wanted Slick Willy back in the White House calling the shots and sploogin' on interns and lying about it.

by Anonymousreply 369June 5, 2017 8:23 AM

We know exactly what you are R369.

by Anonymousreply 370June 6, 2017 11:06 PM

I don't quite get how I'm misogynistic (or a right wing dupe) because I don't like Clinton, yet I admire EW (with doubts she could win a national race)? Bigoted, sexist WI rejected Clinton, but no problem with a lesbian senator- Funny kinda rednecks those are . . .

by Anonymousreply 371June 6, 2017 11:33 PM
I don't quite get how I'm misogynistic (or a right wing dupe) because I don't like Clinton, yet I admire EW

Because it was her turn dammit!

by Anonymousreply 372June 6, 2017 11:39 PM

Is she dead yet?

by Anonymousreply 373June 6, 2017 11:55 PM

Can we please have our rubles now?

by Anonymousreply 374June 7, 2017 12:16 AM

If I had a ruble for every nasty thing I've typed or said about cunt clinton I'd be the richest girl in Nashville Maybe even in the state of Tennessee.

While you're all about the ruples, someone should audit the Clinton foundation for the Chinese and Wall Street "donations" mostly paid for favors done by both Clintons. Don't forget to determine how much foundation money was personally spent by the Clintons.

Hillary wanted women to vote for her. That's funny because she surely went out of her way to fuck over all the women Bill had already fucked. But she did whatever it took, I mean whatever it took, to keep Bill in the governor's mansion and the White House. Gotta love that little woman.

They should change their name to Stonewall because that's what they're best at when called out for their shady dealing all the way back to Arkansas.

by Anonymousreply 377June 7, 2017 8:56 AM

What's shady about raising money?

by Anonymousreply 378June 7, 2017 11:19 AM

by Anonymousreply 381June 8, 2017 12:26 AM

Is she still on her Loserpalooza tour?

by Anonymousreply 382June 8, 2017 12:27 AM

Her Loserpalooza tour may wrap up in prison. They threw bombs at Trump, well let's see if he throws some back. She and her husband are corrupt criminals and have lots of shit to worry about; THAT'S why they scrambling and trying every trick in the book to ruin him. People are catching on.

by Anonymousreply 383June 8, 2017 10:00 PM

R377 is Bernie Sanders fan with a history of bashing minorities and women.

by Anonymousreply 384June 8, 2017 10:04 PM

Well since Comey was told by Lynch that the Hillary email case was a matter and not an investigation does that mean an investigation could now be opened as the matter was closed and an investigation was never started?

by Anonymousreply 385June 8, 2017 10:10 PM

There was no wrong doing. Her server was never hacked. Trump however hand picked the Russian agents that Putin knew personally to run his campaign - sooooo. His orange jumpsuits going to look swell with his fake tan and rats nest dye job. Give it up TRUMP is essentially a traitor calling for Putin to hack our election. That is a pretty dire circumstance now matter what bubble you live in.

by Anonymousreply 386June 8, 2017 10:35 PM

R386 = Delusional

by Anonymousreply 387June 8, 2017 10:57 PM

R387 needs to die in a grease fire.

A blazing hot grease fire, and I'll toast marshmallows on your scorched corpse.

by Anonymousreply 388June 8, 2017 11:04 PM

Sour grapes. Hillary is still a loser today. And will possibly go to jail.

by Anonymousreply 389June 8, 2017 11:35 PM

by Anonymousreply 391June 8, 2017 11:47 PM

So it turns out the only interesting thing about Comey's testimony was Bill cost her the elections. Again. HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHA Oh I can't stop.

by Anonymousreply 392June 9, 2017 12:11 AM

Lol.

by Anonymousreply 393June 9, 2017 12:47 AM

Flush. The democrat party, The Clintons, and CNN are over. How fucking embarrassing.

by Anonymousreply 394June 9, 2017 1:22 AM

Hardly, R392. You obviously weren't paying attention or you haven't accurately learned to translate from English to Russian.

The MOST interesting thing about the hearing was that Comey out right called Trump a pathological liar. As well as his statement that he was relieved that Sessions had "recused" himself and if they wanted to know why he'd be happy to tell them in the closed session.

That's why all the rats are trying to flee.

by Anonymousreply 395June 10, 2017 8:29 PM

what do you call liars who call liars liars more times then not a Dem with a big heaping dose of Hillary and Nancy

by Anonymousreply 396June 11, 2017 12:52 PM

by Anonymousreply 400June 11, 2017 4:18 PM

It's everybody's fault except for hers.

by Anonymousreply 401February 22, 2020 4:20 PM

She's still deplorable.

by Anonymousreply 402February 22, 2020 4:30 PM

So unpopular, so divisive, so much baggage, yet...

"The Democrat outpaced President-elect Donald Trump by almost 2.9 million votes, with 65,844,954 (48.2%) to his 62,979,879 (46.1%), according to revised and certified final election results from all 50 states and the District of Columbia."

by Anonymousreply 403February 22, 2020 4:32 PM
