Sad.
Gay Porn Star Kayden Gray Comes Out As HIV-Positive In YouTube Video
by Anonymous | reply 221 | January 14, 2018 10:10 AM |
Are there any people in gay porn who aren't "stars"?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 25, 2017 1:21 PM |
WOW he just did a scene in February with Dani Robles screwing him (see link for pictures)
Wonder if Dani Robles needs to be tested now.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 25, 2017 1:23 PM |
Is he actually gay or just gay for pay?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 25, 2017 1:24 PM |
Now you tell me!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 25, 2017 1:26 PM |
Dani Robles should be tested regardless, like any sexually active gay man R2. If Kayden is undetectable, there is no chance that Kayden infected Dani.
Kayden is keeping it real. Good for him. I hope that his video motivates people to get tested.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 25, 2017 1:41 PM |
He's gay.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 25, 2017 1:42 PM |
I just like how sweaty he gets in his videos, and he seems pretty eloquent in this video. And of course, there's that wonderful nose of his. I do wish he'd do some bareback scenes, especially now that he's officially out.
R2 Why would he need to get tested? Kayden was clearly using a condom in the video. If Dani isn't poz, then I'm sure he's on PrEP. Isn't that like mandatory in the biz these days?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 25, 2017 1:43 PM |
[quote]I do wish he'd do some bareback scenes
You want an HIV+ top to do bareback? I hope he fucks you first.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 25, 2017 1:45 PM |
I'd rather he fuck Sean Hannity with his positive dick.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 25, 2017 1:46 PM |
What R8 said.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 25, 2017 1:47 PM |
Touching
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 25, 2017 1:51 PM |
Great eyebrows :-)
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 25, 2017 1:51 PM |
I like the fact that he basically came out as gay with this video. YES to more actual gay men in gay porn! I'm sick of all these gay for pay pornstars.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 25, 2017 1:56 PM |
Should he really be globetrotting as an HIV-positive escort?
Maybe it's best to take a break and re-evaluate his life choices. It sounds like unprotected sex is just the tip of the iceberg with this young man. Don't mistake being verbally articulate with being mentally stable.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 25, 2017 2:22 PM |
Gray has been openly gay since Day 1 of his porn career, R13.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 25, 2017 2:26 PM |
[quote]Gray has been openly gay since Day 1 of his life.
Fixed
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 25, 2017 2:31 PM |
Your concern trolling is sorta pathetic R14.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 25, 2017 2:32 PM |
R9 is unhinged, giving gays a bad name although that may well be the plan.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 25, 2017 2:33 PM |
While HIV stigma is a real thing, it's very hard to feel sympathy for someone who caught it as the result of multiple partners during a bareback sex party, and who doesn't appear to see anything wrong with continuing to have sex for a living despite being HIV+.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 25, 2017 2:37 PM |
Very sad news to hear. He's still hot though.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 25, 2017 2:38 PM |
So long as he's hot, r20, he can infect the world...I hate us sometimes.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 25, 2017 2:42 PM |
What happens now to those who hired him?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 25, 2017 2:43 PM |
Has an impressive uncut kielbasa.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 25, 2017 2:47 PM |
My concern for the spread of HIV in the gay community is real. Especially for young gay guys who get their safer-sex education from social media.
But, yeah, R17 ... I can't say I'll lose a minute of sleep tonight over Kayden Gray's continually poor life choices.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 25, 2017 2:49 PM |
Aren't most gay porn actors HIV+? Why would these men have bareback sex on screen if they weren't already POZ? Aren't they all escorts and rent boys anyway? I don't understand.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 25, 2017 2:57 PM |
Which hotel is he in? Looks cool - nice lighting.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 25, 2017 2:58 PM |
Dammit he's one of two porn stars I've ever wanted to hire as an escort.
And the other one was Jarec Wentworth, who went to prison for blackmailing a john.
I have winning taste in men, obviously.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 25, 2017 3:03 PM |
Did he take a cock up his poopy shoot?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 25, 2017 3:10 PM |
You could use a condom R27.
Or you could get on Prep.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 25, 2017 3:11 PM |
If he farts around me, can I get the aids from him?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 25, 2017 3:15 PM |
R30 some of these posters are convinced that watching this video will give them AIDS.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 25, 2017 3:17 PM |
A third option for R27 might be to select a prostitute WITHOUT a potentially life-threatening STD.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 25, 2017 3:17 PM |
Anytime you have sex, you are running the risk of being infected R32. Kayden is just telling the truth about his status.
Don't trust anyone who tells that they are negative. That is reality.
Use a condom. Go on Prep.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 25, 2017 3:26 PM |
Condoms + PrEP is safest.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 25, 2017 3:28 PM |
Repulsive.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 25, 2017 3:31 PM |
Looks like SLS Las Vegas.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 25, 2017 3:47 PM |
Or just some random W Hotel.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 25, 2017 3:47 PM |
Kayden? Dafuq?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 25, 2017 3:47 PM |
We wonder how much the multi billion dollar global $cam known as HIV/AID$ paid her to do this.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 25, 2017 3:48 PM |
Being HIV-positive kind of doesn't matter anymore. Everyone takes PrEP. He'll be fine. Wish him well.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 25, 2017 3:50 PM |
Sooo...he wants a medal for this? Applause?? He thinks he's 'so brave' for 'coming out' as HIV +?? Jesus, is this how fucked up things have become?
Sorry, I have zero respect for someone contracting this disease now. It's absurd, and the person is a moron. Worse, given that they're spreading it to others.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 25, 2017 3:50 PM |
R40 You're an evil idiot. Do you know any people who have the disease? It's not 'nothing' for many people, and being sick and needing to see Doctors on a regular basis is hardly 'nothing'. You're an asshoole.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 25, 2017 3:52 PM |
R42, my understanding is you just go on meds, eat healthy, don't do bad drugs, and you're fine.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 25, 2017 3:54 PM |
How does one get the aids?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 25, 2017 4:16 PM |
"Everyone takes PrEP."
I'm hoping you're not truly that naive.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 25, 2017 4:18 PM |
[quote] my understanding is you just go on meds, eat healthy, don't do bad drugs, and you're fine.
Your understanding is sadly and woefully flawed, and it is the inaccurate understanding which has lead to the belief that HIV infection is not a big deal.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 25, 2017 4:22 PM |
The big news here is that Dani Robles can top. He's gorgeous but not the biggest horse in the stable.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 25, 2017 4:41 PM |
Shouldn't be too big a surprise r47, Dani Robles is bisexual and originally wanted to do straight porn too so I guess he obviously tops the women he has sex with.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 25, 2017 4:50 PM |
Dani Robles is bisexual? In what alternative universe?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 25, 2017 4:54 PM |
A lot of times a PR firm will conduct interviews for their client in a hotel suite. It's easier than having camera crews trampling through the star's home. That's probably why he did the video in a hotel suite.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 25, 2017 5:02 PM |
Condoms + sero-sorting (avoiding sex with HIV-positive men) has been safe enough for me and gay men around the world for the past decades.
To ignore the short and long-term side effects of a steady diet of PreP medication is to be intentionally dishonest about what it means to be "healthy."
Add the factor that PreP does NOT prevent a myriad of STDs (many of them now drug-resistant.)
The best advice for young gay men is to use condoms every time. Ask your partner's status. Avoid the poz guys. And continue to use condoms.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 25, 2017 5:04 PM |
BREAKING: Gay porn "star" turns HIV positive. DL mourns.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 25, 2017 5:08 PM |
If he had an undetectable viral load, he cannot infect his partner.
People who transmit HIV tend to be people who don't know their status.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 25, 2017 5:26 PM |
I don't think he's looking for our sympathy. He's just telling everyone that they should get tested.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 25, 2017 5:26 PM |
Was he a bottom during the orgy he got HIV?
If he was just a top, is he cut?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 25, 2017 5:27 PM |
R49, He said he was bisexual on his twitter feed and Spanish interviews. Hardly any Spanish models are gay almost all are bisexual.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 25, 2017 6:04 PM |
Trash.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 25, 2017 6:05 PM |

You decide, R55.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 25, 2017 6:07 PM |
I'd fuck him.
Bare.
Because he is undetectable and I'm on Prep.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 25, 2017 6:16 PM |
He's Polish ethnicity, correct? Always found him very handsome and very sexy and that CLUB of a cock. mmmmm

He's extremely handsome.
Being HIV positive is no longer a death sentence, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 25, 2017 6:45 PM |
The boy on the left in R60 is especially cute.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | May 25, 2017 6:48 PM |
I googled around a bit.
He is Polish. University educated in Poland. over 6ft tall. smoker. early 30's. likes music and theatre.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | May 25, 2017 6:54 PM |
Aren't most porn performers HIV+? How long till he's doing breeding videos for Treasure Island or Dark Alley.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 25, 2017 8:38 PM |
He's hot.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 25, 2017 9:00 PM |
Are you liable if you spread HIV to a person you didn't reveal your status to? You should be.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 25, 2017 9:16 PM |
He will be fine except for the increased cancer rates associated with hiv in well-controlled individuals. There's also the psychological distress and social stigma.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | May 25, 2017 9:19 PM |
He is good looking, but it was gross when he picked his ear and then looked at his finger.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | May 25, 2017 9:41 PM |
Lots of stupid on this thread. Probably a high percent of porn performers and escorts are HIV positive. Those who come out openly as positive, like Kayden Gray/Wojciech are a minority. Most of those who are out poz are in the bareback part of the industry. Gray is currently working with an AIDS outreach organization in London (Impulse Group) that is going into the clubs to educate on sexual health. He is doing good things for the community and working in sexual health in the gay community. He is not presenting himself as a saint and clearly stated he contracted the virus through reckless high risk behavior having unprotected sex at a sex party/orgy. Yes he could have used condoms, PREP was around then and he could have taken pre-exposure of post-exposure prophylaxis but didn't immediately get help and treatment. I knew a guy who was raped by an HIV+ partner after the guy got him high and he was unconscious. The guy took the meds and didn't contract HIV. Sexually active gay and bisexual men have lots of options now for prevention and don't use them. They also don't get tested. Do both before it is too late.
Kayden clearly states in the video that the worst thing he has faced is judgment from the gay community and the need to disassociate oneself and turn the HIV person into the "undesirable other". This is cheap narcissistic trash gay behavior. Don't do it.
I think Kayden is brave and honest and deserving of praise. Clearly part of his new role in working with the gay community to stop the spread of HIV is being open and honest about his own HIV status, what he experienced and his own mistakes. And it only takes one mistake. He professionally compromised his porn career and escorting career so that he could be real and do something for the community. So show some respect.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | May 25, 2017 11:20 PM |
Women, African Americans, Asians, Jews.
None of these groups look to porn stars / prostitutes as role modes.
Let's elevate some of the many gay men who have remained HIV negative over the years. They should be on the front line of education and advocacy.
When Kayden eventually crosses over into bareback porn, he'll be exactly what young gay men don't need - another attractive in-shape guy being creampied.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | May 26, 2017 12:03 AM |
Maybe so R72 but you know that recovered addicts work as substance abuse counselors? Most 12 step counselors are former abusers. So yes staying HIV negative is a worthwhile and praiseworthy thing. But those who do counseling and outreach usually are people who have been there, who have fought the battle, who have experienced the struggle first hand. So yes, I think an AIDS counselor or prevention advocate can and should be someone who has experienced the disease and stigma themselves. Also I don't think he is making himself a "role model" but just telling his story to try to help others. And if in his bareback porn he is working with other undetectable HIV+ models or models on PREP making sure he is not transmitting or receiving the virus, then take that creampie, boy.

Such a brave whore to come out with it.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | May 26, 2017 12:47 AM |
So he got gang banged at a bareback orgy, got HIV and now the gay community is supposed to look up to him as some kind of hero or martyr?
by Anonymous | reply 79 | May 26, 2017 12:51 AM |
I don't think anyone is supposed to be looking up to him or down at him.
I hope he finds a long-term career cause it looks like he needs a new mouthful of teeth.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | May 26, 2017 12:53 AM |
And of course the "undetectable" person who topped him had zero chance because everyone who is HIV poz is "uindetectable" it's the new thing to be.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | May 26, 2017 12:57 AM |
I wonder if Billy Santoro or his husband were there filming for their website.

by Anonymous | reply 83 | May 26, 2017 1:08 AM |
Oh my god, you diaper-wearing queens are so naive and think things still work like they did in the 60's when you were young. Kayden has HIV just like the majority of his rubber wearing porn co-stars, who have never done bareback porn either. Gray is a hypocrite just like the rest of them with their stance on only doing condom porn, then when the camera's off fucking with everyone without a rubber. Now he has HIV or has possibly had it all along and only being public about it now.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | May 26, 2017 1:20 AM |
Hypocritical when a positive person wears a condom onscreen?
Are you for real R84, you sad cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | May 26, 2017 1:32 AM |
i hope he does some super sleazy bareback sloppy hole porn because he is hot
by Anonymous | reply 86 | May 26, 2017 1:35 AM |
R76 He is complying with his regime of meds and is currently undetectable. He probably will live much longer than you will since he is probably younger and in better physical shape.
R81 we don't know anything about the top who infected him and neither do you. It may have been someone who had not been tested or even more likely someone who thought that if Kayden was willing to bareback or in porn he already had contracted HIV/AIDS. So truth is, the killer here is lack of prevention, lack of protection, lack of knowledge and lack of communication before sex and just plain carelessness. If Kayden had been on PREP, if he had talked to the other participants about what they were doing and what his limits were, if he had valued being HIV negative enough to educate himself and protect himself with PREP or a condom, if he had taken Truvada after the bareback orgy as a post-exposure prophylactic or if he had just put a condom on the other guy, this wouldn't have happened. But it did and he fucked up. He has admitted this. The point is that he got help and he is trying to help others from making his mistakes. And no, Kayden at no point is asking for your admiration or sympathy - he is just telling his story so that others may benefit from his mistakes. You want to HIV-shame, sex worker shame or slut shame, have a field day. If it makes you feel better about yourself, oh well...
Also, R84 - do you think it would be better if he got fucked raw in bareback porn or in escorting because it is less "hypocritical"??? Really??? POZ guys fuck with condoms for all kinds of reasons - not to pass on HIV, not to get gonorrhea, chlamydia, anal warts, syphilis, etc. He may be truly sincere about this. You also know that he barebacked once, is he now barebacking with his tricks and escort clients? We don't know that. It is a problem if he is since he is working in prevention in the gay community.
Now have at it haters, some of us are adults in this room...
by Anonymous | reply 87 | May 26, 2017 1:47 AM |
Also back at ya R74 and R77
One more reason for a POZ individual to use a condom - reinfection with newer strains of HIV that are resistant to the meds.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | May 26, 2017 2:03 AM |
Where is he from? His accent isn't American.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | May 26, 2017 2:07 AM |
Rona Bearette, an ignorant cunt. Honestly, it's assholes like you who keep this disease going. Yeah, let's admire the shitstain who didn't take measures not to get infected and probably passed it to other gay men. What a hero. But I get it. You're a porn addicted loser who 'loves' these freaks. That doesn't make you an adult, you're just a moronic idiotic. An enabler. There's nothing wrong with holding people accountable. Nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | May 26, 2017 2:23 AM |
[quote] He is complying with his regime of meds and is currently undetectable. He probably will live much longer than you will since he is probably younger and in better physical shape.
Wow ... so much shit in one sentence you can't possibly know. Party boys don't work 9 to 5 jobs and have trouble maintaining scheduled events. Rushing home to take a pill often doesn't happen when you're out at nightclubs "doing outreach" and getting fucked for cash. Whether or not he's undetectable is something we'll have to take his word for.
You also seem to like spreading the lie that popping a PreP pill is harmless with no long-term side effects like a Flintstone vitamin. How can you possibly know how healthy he will be 10, 20, 30, 40 years from now? Because he looks good on YouTube today? Here are just a few of the possible side-effects of Truvada. Kidney problems, including kidney failure. Bone problems, including bone pain or bones getting soft or thin, which may lead to fractures. Changes in body fat, which can happen in people taking HIV-1 medicines. Changes in your immune system.
As for your delight that if he does move into bareback porn he can "creampie" to his heart's content with another poz co-star, the last thing we need is a human petri dish percolating the next mutation of HIV.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | May 26, 2017 2:28 AM |
As the very wise Marilyn Monroe once said,
"Gay porn is where they pay you $250 per scene getting ass to mouth spitroasted by groups of heroin-injecting meat puppets, but only give you HIV for your soul."
by Anonymous | reply 92 | May 26, 2017 2:29 AM |
Hmmm, r92, I seem to rember Ethel Barrymore saying that, hey, I could be wrong......
by Anonymous | reply 93 | May 26, 2017 2:36 AM |
I was still baffled by the "social stigma" that R69 refers to (really? in this day and age there's a stigma attached to HIV?) and then I come to R91, who's so hostile to sex workers he's practically frothing at the mouth.
I'd like to say thanks to Rona Bearette (R87 etc.) for demonstrating non-judgmental common sense.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | May 26, 2017 3:08 AM |
R90 who do you think your judgement affects? Kayden is not going is not going to read your hysterical screeds. You are only judging him because it makes you feel better about your, no doubt, miserable life.
And I got news for you, dear, nobody else on this website cares what your opinion is about anything. You are only speaking to yourself.

What idiot would get gang banged without condoms and without PrEP? (Or gang banged at all). Seriously, he must have either had no self esteem or have a single digit IQ. He worked in porn- there's no way he was under educated about the risks of his behavior. This is why straight people think gays are a burden on the healthcare system.

Kind of lends support to the theory of porn stars being self destructive messes.
by Anonymous | reply 104 | May 26, 2017 5:53 AM |
Do most porn stars bareback of screen? We know Dirk Caber and Jesse Jackman do, and we know Dallas Steele does, so even the Titan guys are apparently huge cum sluts off set.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | May 26, 2017 5:59 AM |
Another homo announcing he has HIV. Can't one of them announce they have crabs or syphilis?? It's just so cliched at this point.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | May 26, 2017 5:59 AM |
It is interesting that even the pornstars that advocate safer sex bareback off camera.
There is no way around it. Kayden got HIV with reckless behavior. We should be able to discuss these things but unfortunately it gets shutdown as shaming. The fact that people are still getting HIV means that people are not protecting themselves and that is saddening.
I should be able to say that I'm disappointed in Kayden Grey. I should be able to point out the hypocrisy of condom-only porn stars. We should be able to talk about the negative side effects of HIV. I should know if a sexual partner is positive. I should be able to express how much I hate that the gay community has still not escaped the HIV virus.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | May 26, 2017 6:37 AM |
He's just advertising for an HIV+ $ugar daddy now.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | May 26, 2017 6:46 AM |
Sad!? Stop the dramatics, OP. "Sad" is not a porn star/escort becoming HIV positive. Unfortunate? Yeah... but not sad.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | May 26, 2017 9:15 AM |
R89 Kayden is from Poland and lives in London, England. He probably was very closeted in Poland and then went wild sexually when he hit London to study linguistics at University there. That probably fed into his going into porn/escorting and also the party/orgy scene that led to his contracting HIV.
If he is complying with his regime of medications, he is undetectable and according to the latest reports, Kayden and other POZ men have a very small (but still possible) risk of transmitting the virus.
"A large international study looked at heterosexual couples in which one partner was HIV positive and the other was HIV negative (we call these serodifferent couples). The study found that if the positive partners took ART to suppress their viral loads, their risk of infecting their partners was enormously reduced, by 93% overall, over about 5 years. And, if the HIV-positive partner was consistently on HIV medications, with an undetectable HIV viral load, there were no partner infections. It is important to note that the couples in this study were encouraged to use condoms. A smaller study looked at both male-female serodifferent couples and male-male serodifferent couples who did not use condoms (and did not plan to use them). All of the HIV-positive partners in the study were on ART and had undetectable HIV viral loads. After more than a year, none of the HIV-negative partners had become HIV positive. The results of these studies show that if an HIV+ person is on ART with a completely suppressed HIV viral load, the risk of infecting an HIV-negative sexual partner is likely to be extremely low."
Barebacking isn't just huge "offscreen" for porn stars, it is huge everywhere for sexually active gay men. Porn just reflects a larger trend in the gay community. The bigger question is why Kayden/Wojciech didn't protect himself before he attended that sex party back in 2013 by taking PrEP or PEP within 24 hours after exposure. As a community health advocate hopefully he has changed his behavior and is playing it safer offscreen or if he is barebacking with selected partners, there is an informed conversation going on. He talks in the video about "sitting on the dick first and talking about (risks) later" which will put one on the fast train to HIV/AIDS. Hopefully Kayden is practicing what he preaches and is currently counseling other sex workers in London where he lives and escorts on safer sexual practices which will protect them and their clients (or from their clients). A lot of people are assuming he is a barebacking, load taking slut offscreen where there is no evidence and his testimony in that Youtube video and his current activities would suggest otherwise (if he isn't being safe or talking to his partners BEFORE sex, then his is a hypocrite and should be shamed. But he is being shamed without evidence on this thread).
R110 I am sure Kayden is disappointed in himself for his reckless behavior and is trying to stop other gay men from going down the same path. But he is doing positive things to offset the negative behavior that got him in a bad situation - taking lemons and making lemonade.

Honey R114 you are pissing in the wind with all that here on DL. 33% of the posters in this thread revile barebacking, barebackers and are absolutely horrified by HIV+ gay men walking the streets, let alone having sex lives. They also have the half-assed information and argue always with the worst case scenarios, when not completely making up boogeyman points such as reinfection. It's not worth it here, in DL. Old queens who are not in high-risk cohorts for getting HIV anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | May 26, 2017 10:34 AM |
I don't consider it shaming to wonder how someone with the knowledge of a porn star could allow himself to get fucked by numerous men with no condoms at a party AND not be on PrEP. As I commented before, he either has no self respect, wanted to get hiv, or is a complete moron.
Even if he were on PrEP, he was at a huge risk for getting GC/CT/HSV syphilis. Just because R99 hasn't heard straight people complaining about gay guys being reckless and having insurance pay for their STI treatment doesn't mean it's not being said. I have heard it dozens of times. I can sort of see their point too. The problem is we have no choice, because if we don't pay for treatment, the diseases will continue to spread at higher rates.

R115 is right...the hysterical old queens of DL, who don't have much sex anyway, are not the target market for anyone whose talking reality. They are irrelevant.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | May 26, 2017 1:04 PM |
Delusional young queens refuse to acknowledge the many shortcomings of PreP and the reality of barebacking.
They make long term projections about the effectiveness of a drug that has only been in use for less than five years.
HIV policy in the western world is heavily influenced by gay men who are already HIV positive. These men have made the eradication of HIV *stigma* the top priority, when it should be the prevention of new infections. They want a world of consequence-free sex where they never have to face rejection because of their HIV status. This is in direct opposition to the goal of keeping young gay men healthy (and healthy means free of STDs including HIV and free of medications with many known short-term side effects, and unknown long-term side effects.)
The facts of viral infection are very simple. Just as you should wash your hands before preparing food, you should use condoms for sex. Somewhere along the line, we allowed paid activists, big pharma, and the porn industry to dictate our thoughts on HIV infection and basic health policy.
So in the great debate of bareback vs. condoms ... My HIV negative 40 year-old ass is on the side of condom use WITHOUT a lifetime prescription of Truvada.

Porn models are as varied as anyone else, with the stipulation that they be hot enough for people to want to watch have sex.
I had a fling with this porn star who had an advanced degree in biology and was working in that field. And I a had a fuck bud and porn model who was getting his law degree from a fairly well known law school.
I don't anything about Kayden's personal life, but he's very well spoken and cabable of nuanced thought, and I wouldn't mind having a beer with him.

[quote] He's breaking down the stigma of having HIV. (It doesn't hurt that he's super hot either.)
Should HIV be free of stigma and consequence? As the gay community searches for role models to promote HIV prevention (setting aside the fact that an active prostitute can only serve as an example to AVOID, not to follow) we shouldn't be promoting idea that you can be fucked bareback and go on to live a fabulous life.
It's even worse since we can safely assume the next stop on Kayden's train is bareback porn.
There was a time when gay organizations worked to inundate young guys with safe sex imagery. We knew there was educational power behind that kind of marketing and propaganda. Curiously enough, it stopped around the same time as pharmaceutical companies came on the scene with their own marketing dollars.
Photos and videos of a physically attractive HIV-positive young man having bareback sex on social media is NOT something we need more of if we want to slow the spread of STDs (including HIV) in our community.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | May 27, 2017 10:37 AM |
Why would you do this? He went to a bareback party? Why would you do that? That is asking to become HIV+, it's as though he acted the way he did just so he could eventually have the opportunity to come out as HIV+. It's like if a straight couple had sex without contraception and then acted all surprised when they got pregnant. It's weird because it's like "I made a mistake". But it's not really a mistake exactly, because you know what's going to happen and you still do it. How can that really be called a mistake? It's premeditated. You know what's going to happen. All this "I made a mistake" stuff is like some kind of way of avoiding taking responsibility about actions.
I agree with the poster who said that this is not an appropriate person to look up to. How can you consider this person brave or strong? They are a bug chaser. Is that some kind of, I don't know, advanced technical qualification that takes a lot of work to achieve? Some of you men are like so easily impressed, it is ridiculous. I agree with HIV medications being available to everyone, but that doesn't make it OK to be cavalier about the availability and effectiveness of these medications. Just because they should be available to everyone doesn't mean that they don't cost society anything. It doesn't mean that widespread usage doesn't cause the effectiveness of the drug to decay. That's just part of what's wrong with this attitude that "just take your medications daily and you'll have a normal life". Apart from the fact that daily medications cause damage to the body, they fucking cost society money. Just so someone can go to a bareback party? OMG. Is it really that unfair to be judging or shaming of someone who is so thoughtless? I mean, it is unproductive and people should refrain from it, but it isn't exactly unfair. Are you living in the US, R156?
Smokers and the obese are not applauded for their heroics. The media frequently reports on the high costs of meds and treatments. There are programs to combat these unhealthy lifestyles at the federal, state, and often the city level.
Sex with condoms is the best way to stay safe with the bonus of remaining drug-free.
Again, follow the money. The makers of Lipitor don't want the population to lower their cholesterol through diet and exercise, the same way that the makers of Truvada don't want gay men to re-commit to condom use. I'm not sure where the recklessness of one justifies the recklessness of the other.

He, of course, shouldn't be applauded for contracting the disease, but he most definitely should be cheered on for stepping forward with his diagnosis in a public way. When you are infected you should notify any potential partners, and having a celebrity like Kayden helps promote that in a good way.
We should be trying to remove the stigma of having HIV. It doesn't mean you're a horrible person or a leper who can't be touched.

[quote] You do realize this announcement will affect his career, correct?
Which career? He has two that we know of. In 2017, bareback porn studios / websites outnumber condom-only companies. More doors will open for Kayden Gray, not less.
His other career is prostitution. Even the most liberal societies where prostitution is legal, it remains regulated. No minors, and no STDs.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | May 27, 2017 11:26 PM |
I mentioned both careers. As for porn, even though there are more bareback studios, many will not work with an HIV+ guy and certainly some other models will refuse to shoot scenes with a positive guy too. Bareback studios still put their models through vigorous testing and just because a studio shoots bareback scenes does not provide a guarantee that they will hire a positive actor.
What's the difference if prostitution is regulated or not? He made a very public announcement that he is positive. If you don't think this will affect clients hiring him then you're crazy. Clients regulate the industry themselves, and a profile that says HIV+ on it will be a HUGE turnoff for MANY prospective clients.
So, once again, his career(s) are both in jeopardy by this announcement, and yet he still made it. Bravo.

Hey big spender ... are you footing the bill for your "queer" brethren? My understanding is that Truvada cost about $1,300 per month. This does not include the cost related to the regular follow-up testing that is required.
