Thanks DL for your help.
So I'm going to Detroit, with my nephew, just us. Is it risky? Anyone been?

Please please OP, don't take you love ones to Detroit. Don't you love your family??????

It's wonderful especially if you like Art. The Detroit Institute of Art is amazing! World Class and they have those amazing Diego Rivera Murals. They were 2 other artist in the running to paint those murals and Edsel Ford chose Rivera over Matisse and Picasso. They also have Anna Dodge's wonderful french decorative arts bought under the tutelage of Sir Joseph Duveen. They have an actual gothic chapel brought back from France and reassembled in the museum. It's a beautiful building and a wonderful collection. The city has wonderful architecture (Art Deco) downtown and the mansions of Indian Village are magnificent. Belle Isle is also amazing. A tour of the Renaissance Center is a must. The Motown Museum is worth a look too. I love Detroit and it is improving slowly but it takes time.

Are you giving him a few hundred dollars to find some cock, like you did in New York City, Uncle Troll?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 24, 2017 7:31 AM |
Make sure he wears a condom.

I am taking my niece to Palmyra - it is an easy drive from Damascus. I hear they have cleaned up most of the blood from the ruins - it was apparently being used as an execution site. Does anyone have any recommendations about restaurants, gay bars, etc ?

No really r-3 where would someone wanting to see the DIA stay? I am fascinated by Detroit and would love to spend a day or two. I'm not kidding.

I really don't know because I have only done day trips to Detroit. I'm sure there are some great options downtown and there are several casinos in Detroit. Another thing I try not to miss is the Detroit International Auto Show in January. I go to the DIA in the morning and the Auto Show in the afternoon. There are some ridiculously hot guy at the auto show. The ones representing the car companies, the ones working the show running the different displays and of course the visitors. You really can see a lot if you rent a car and parking is easy.

No, I think the citizens of Detroit will be safe from you and your "nephew" (right nephew, who are you kidding?)

Why don't lesbians have fetishes for their nieces the way gay men have for their nephews?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 24, 2017 5:32 PM |
There must be so many legendary Rock n Roll sites to visit.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 24, 2017 5:55 PM |
Being with you is probably risky for your nephew, irrespective of where you go.

OP is a crafter of Fairy Tales.

If there happens to be a show you'd like to see at the Fox Theater when you're in town, definitely go. The theater is amazingly beautiful.

I hope you get raped by a pack of Ni*gers

I saw Diana Ross there and it was amazing. [R17] You should be so lucky.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 24, 2017 8:36 PM |
I also love Detroit. As mentioned, the DIA is amazing. Hitsville is touristy, but worth the visit if you have any interest in music. The Eastern Market is great, take in sporting event (season dependant), the Henry Ford museum is really interesting - the car Kennedy was in when shot, the chair Lincoln was sitting in when assassinated, the Rosa Parks bus - lots of great stuff.
There are a number of other museums and some stunning buildings. Great food, lots of variety. Worth a visit.

Yeah Diana Ross gave a fabulous concert there 30 years ago, you Old Queer. When was the last time you visited? Why don't you move there and join the other Pioneers?

Cranbrook is highbrow and yet oddly disappointing.

Detroit's Fisher Theatre often has Broadway shows so check out both the Fox and the Fisher. Oh, and if you like that sort of thing, a Detroit Tigers baseball game at Comerica Park. Absolutely. Check out The Max Fisher Auditorium. Not only does the world class Detroit Symphony (DSO ) perform there but they often have other musical performances, artists, etc. Oh, and you may want to check out the Michigan Opera theatre as well. Fine performances, great production values, good stuff. Rent a car an d drive out East Jefferson to the Eleanor and Edsel Ford estate. Book a tour. Lots of history.

Tramp [R20], the Fox had been newly restored so Diana was there after the restoration. I would love to have a summer home in Detroit's Indian Village.

For the first time in many years Detroit has a white mayor, Mike Duggan. He seems to be enthusiastic, is taking the bull by the horns, and is doing a lot of good work. Hope he sticks around for awhile unlike the other mayors.

OP here, sounds like there is so much fun to be had in Detroit, that I don't need to bring my nephew along to have some fun?
I'm flummoxed!

Some of you whores-OP included- are LSA crazy. I was born and raised in Detroit but live in Seattle now. Detroit is a great city. Eastern Market is amazing and River Walk is great. New Orleans has a higher murder rate but that didnt stop any of you racist bitches from flashing your tits for a few beads there now did it? Detroit has an amazing art and food scene that doesnt get nearly as much credit as it deserves.

The only thing at risk on this trip is the nephew's precious flower.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 25, 2017 6:02 AM |
It's my understanding that Detroit was only teetering on bankruptcy till Diana Ross showed up and pushed it over the edge.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 25, 2017 6:35 AM |
Rome teetered, never Detroit.

OP here again.
I've decided art before arse.
Plus nephew got a better offer :(
He's a collector, so he's off to New Orleans, instead. Double sad face.

Traylor will be fine.

YOu need to check online to see what's going on. You could go and have a really boring time or you could go and have a great time. Rent a car. Detroit has rotten mass transit. In fact it's practically non existent except for buses cabs & uber. Plan, OP. You'll do much better if you plan. And don't forget to look into a day trip to Greenfield Village. If you like to go back in time the history of industrialized America starts there. Again. Go onllne and look up the places and suggestions and calendars or schedules of the stuff that's been mentioned. Eastern Market is a trip! LOL@! You go on weekends. I like late morning, but if you don't want fresh produce skip it unless you want the experience.

R27 wins.
...as the op slowly begins the gay uncle & hot nephew ritual known as The Lifting Of The Caftan.
...this was the very last room.
...it's cool if we share the one bed right?

Skip Detroit. Go to Philadelphia. The most underrated city in the US. Beautiful and expansive downtown with many neighborhoods from Old City to University City from Fishtown to Easy Passyunk. Yes parts of North Philadelphia and West Philadelphia are still blighted but it's a very cool place to be right now. I have heard people try to compare Detroit and Philadelphia which is a complete joke. Philly also has a subway and great suburban rail network and easy access to NYC, the beaches and the mountains. And still a reasonable cost of living compared to NYC Boston or DC.
