This season sucks. Michelle and Ru are BOTH old hags. Is there a fucking filter on every time the queens do the runway? I know old bitch Ru has one in constantly, but the queens too??? Fuck this show. And fuck that annoying cucu bitch. May cancer finish her off.

Every season ends up airing an ep with an abbreviated runway because they are short on time. The full runway segment was posted online, there was a link in the last thread.

R6 No mini challenges, no shots lost on ogling the Pit Crew's packages, and they [italic]still[/italic] managed to end up with a 30-second runway montage only. How the fuck does that happen?

People are really starting to get pissed off with this season because it's not just boring, it's terribly produced as well.

Mainly I thought having the first episode so focused on Lady Gaga instead of the queens was weak, and then the cheerleading challenge the next episode was an awful challenge. The editing so far has been shit I agree and the episodes haven't been too strong but again it's still early, at least wait for Snatch Game before you dismiss an entire season. I just wish Logo/WOW or whoever could find a way to make the episodes longer every time. The move to VH1 so far seems to not be a good choice

I know Willam and he is as cool as can be. If he is your friend he would give you a fucking kidney, but if you fuck him over once...he cuts you off. You have to have a thick skin around him, he can cut hard.

It seems, r36, in videos that Willam can be loyal, sweet and fun, but he does also seem to have the potential to be a real bitch. I enjoy Willam for the most part. I occasionally find--and this is my own weirdness--his constant hocking and spitting to be stomach-turning, but that's my problem not his. I wouldn't want to cross him, but he appears to be a fun guy to around in small amounts. He's one that I've read can be very, genuinely kind, while others say he's also extremely cruel. So, it's good to hear from someone who's met him. Thank you for posting.

I was so happy when the mini challenge was announced but it was all a big ol' nothing in the end. The winning selfie was terrible. At least they have a hairy member of the Pit Crew again so that's something.

The sound editing for the final challenge seems to have been dodgy because everyone's lip sync was off by a fraction of a second until 2025 when it was fine again. Perhaps my rip was dodgy; I'll have to watch it again in HD.

Trainor had the most useless (two?) comments in the history of this show, proving once again that she truly is the absolute worst. Far too old for that onesie as well but it's not like she cares or anything.

Hello? When the queens walk the runway are you all not seeing blurry distorted colors and shit? This is the absolute worst. Even though they worked together for years in Austin, it's clear that Farrah doesn't know (or care?) about Cynthia. In her critique of Cynthia's performance as Kim K on Untucked, Farrah thinks that "CuCu" means "cuckoo" and not "ass."

Thrilled Eureka is gone! She's a loud mouth know it all cunt without the talent {like most of this seasons cast} to back it up?

Valentina proves in Untucked that she is funny, resourceful, motherly and just a little bitchy too. It's like she was created in a lab. She is so gonna win Snatch Game and probably the whole show. Shea is the dark horse, Nina is this year's Acid Betty - very soon to go home. I liked the bad Hamilton musical number - the Britney, Paris, Lindsay trio were pretty good. Peppermint is so pretty. There's a trans woman I believe in. Something about her demeanor just makes me happy. Nina curled up with her back to Alexis like a pissy cat was funny and creepy. Farrah Moan is aptly named and Ms. Cucu makes me tired. Alexis was a crazy bitch blaming the others for not telling her to wear something different on the runway. Jason of the pit crew is over 40 and still a sexy doll. I know him well, so don't be mean. Yeah he loves the camera and he's a bit shallow in real life but he's a great guy that all the queens love. Bryce was a flat ass albino weirdo. Glad he's gone. The furry boy looks promising.

Well I'm fairly certain Eureka is going to take up Ru on her offer to return for Season 10, so that's not the last we're going to see of her.

They've never stated on the show that Peppermint is trans, have they? I've read about it, and seen it announced online, but I don't recall an on-air "I'm trans" moment yet. I suppose it's being treated as a nonissue which seems best.

r98, I think it was mentioned once or twice, but in a very minor, casual way. I'm sure there will an extended 'serious moment' about it later in the season, the same way they have done with Pulse/HIV/eating disorder.

Ironically, Peppermint is one of the most masculine looking out of drag. Has anyone noticed that Ru still says 'Gentlemen, start you engines. And may the best woman win!'? I think one of the more humourless trans (see Carmen Carrera) would have made a big stink about it, but Peppermint seems cool.

Peppermint doesn't strike me as a transculty type either. She's been on the NYC drag scene for close to 20 years and didn't decide to go full-time until (I think) a couple of years ago.

There have always been trannies in the drag world, especially on the pageant circuit (ex: Miss Continental). I don't know about today, but most of the big name trans entertainers from the '80s and '90s would have been the first to tell you they weren't women -- more like full-time drag queens. Virtually none save a handful ever aspired to get genital surgery.

I do get the straight complaints to an extent. It was rather cool that the sex symbols being paraded on the show were proud gay men, rather than having the cliche gay men lusting after straight men.

And he went to defend himself in the comments, which is always classy. I enjoyed Jessica Lange in AHS but I felt her characters blended together. There was more variation in Sarah Paulson's characters.

That said, Jason was a guest panellist on Gay Weekly Roundtable and he did not seem particularly intelligent, just emphatic.

Apparently Nina is doing Jasmine Masters for snatch game. This could either be iconic or a mess. Jasmine has a very particular personality that is hard to replicate. Her youtube channel is LAUGHS FOR DAYS.

Personally I'm against drag race contestants doing other drag race contestants for the Snatch Game. It becomes too much of a myopic circle jerk. There is a whole world of figures from pop culture to parody, it makes it appear the contestant doesn't have a wide base of cultural references outside of the show.

But that's just my opinion.

Nina seems like a nice person, but she is too sensitive for drag. She's already cried at least twice on the show, and i've been watching some of her drag on youtube and she's been replying to negative comments and trying to defend herself. She comes across as very insecure. She's a very funny person, there's no need for the hysterics.

I love Farrah too, she's very sweet but other than the makeup and cute body the girl can't do much. She's a "just for pretty" Queen. I like my Queens to be able to sing, dance, act, and create their own costumes.

R115 You're not alone. I look forward to the Snatch Game and am disappointed every time a queen announces she's doing another queen. It's too inside baseball and it's not exciting to me. It also sends a message that they're bigger stars and household names than actual celebrities that other queens impersonate.

Sharon's Michelle Visage was a Snatch Game highlight for the ages. Alaska's Lady Bunny was also fun.

I've never watched Grey Gardens (I think I'd find it too sad) but it irked me when some queens were dismissive of Jinx' choice to do Little Edie.

R122 I squealed with joy when Jinx mentioned she's doing Little Edie and became apoplectic immediately after when no one seemed to know who that was. And I'm not even American. I'm glad RuPaul mentioned the online backlash in the finale.

Going niche like that is great but doing another drag queen just seems so... masturbatory and exclusionary to me.

Jinkx is on the new Hey Qween. She's the all round drag queen. She can host, sing, dance, be touching or bawdy, can lip synch the house down, do some not bad impressions and sing for real. She's old showbizzy on stage but with a lovely weird energy. She's not my favorite but she doesn't get mentioned as much as she should. I suspect he is also the most intelligent of the winners. I dig her.

At a recent event, someone remarked to Jinx that they also do work with Logo. Jinx' response: "Oh, so then you work for me".

Jinkx is definitely a real talent. You can tell they didn't cast her expecting her to be a strong contender, but she started owning the challenges blowing away the competition.

Her actual drag was weak in her season. Many make-up issues and wardrobe issues, but she has really worked to improve her craft since her season.

Nina Bonina seems more than insecure. She seems damaged and in need of intensive therapy and mood enhancing drugs. There's no shame in that, of course. But it may not be the best foundation for someone trying to break into showbiz in his 30s.

Nina is not damaged. She is an emotional blackmailer. Not getting your way and then shutting down, being dismissive and combative, those are signs of emotional problems. Also the crying. I think Michelle called it, huge red flag.

She doesn't get much credit but Ginger Minj's Adele was great fun and Tatiana's Britney is still probably the best and funniest character at Snatch Game. Judge Judy and Grey Gardens Jinkx are not far behind. Those two relied on catchphrases and pretty good vocal inflections but Snatch Game should be a send up. Ginger and Tatianna and ugh, Katya did best at improvising within character. Liza should be done and done. I hope Alexis can pull that off.

Impersonating other Drag Queens is lame. Jinkx does a fun job on Alyssa and Alaska on the tangential fly during Hey Queen. They should be able to impersonate each other. Jinkx does a good Bette Davis on the Bots tours and probably many more. Alaska did a clever update to Mae West on All Stars 2. She didn't really sound or look like her but in the spirit of Tatiana's Britney she was very funny. Who would impersonate Pearl, Bob or Naomi? Even Violet did a pretty good Allyssa. Violet ain't last among winners, no sir.

I don't care that Nina's brilliant at that particular impersonation. Be completely honest now: are you genuinely [italic]excited[/italic] to see her do Jasmine Masters on Snatch Game? This is your big chance to leave a lasting impression on the audience and you choose... Jasmine fucking Masters?!

Bendela was just so quick on his feet, the way he was able to react to what was being said around him and turn them into great character appropriate jokes. It's exactly what Snatch Game is supposed to be about and just an impressive display of wit.

In the Untucked clip, is anyone surprised that none of the other queens read Cynthia more for her bad make-up on the walkway (not to mention her tripping on her cape, which she tried to work up as a joke) AND her very bad Snatch Game? I really think if it were anyone else, she would have been called out for a bad impersonation - in look, voice and characterization - as well as simply not being witty or funny. When they did the wedding makeover challenge on season 6, many gay viewers were upset that Drag Race was making over straight men fanboys as dragqueens to marry their girlfriends at a time when Gay Marriage was not yet a national right. RuPaul married them and it's a cute episode except that it's tone deaf and Adore should have gone home....

Only Katya, Jinkx and Sharon Needles have had the guts to call out how they're all being held hostage now by teenage girls and boys and fluids. They don't like it. Who would? Fear of fan backlash ruined All Stars Two. Turned Alaska into a simpering lying pussy and made Phi Phi into a monster just for playing the game. Even Katya didn't eliminate Alaska when she had the chance. It would have guaranteed her the title, but she was A: afraid of young fan emoji backlash (they are not all girls) and B: trying to be fair.

Bianca Del Rio was an old stand up comic by the time she did Drag Race and the children don't love him, but he knew how to throw a bone to the younger performers and is legitimate friends with Adore and Courtney and Darienne. They still have daily four way communication. Bendela is a weird bitch and was the young fan favorite that season. Talented but all about the look. She didn't even make it to fourth place and is the most disliked Miss Congeniality ever. Season 6 was the turning point for Drag Race being subversive. Untucked was pretty much a scripted half hour that year. Great cast though.

Cynthia's return this year proves that sensitive children fan's feelings must be coddled. She did nothing right the first time and she was worse this second time. The right one usually wins the crown for that moment in time, but the right FAT one broke her foot this year so the right LATINA will finally win. Not as good as Yara Sophia though. I guarantee it. I'm a bigger fan of Shea and the odd and esoteric anorexic Sasha. Ru is full of surprises? Not really. Nina will come in fourth like his favorite hard core, hard working queens always do. Out of all of the iconic Madonna looks, why did anyone from this season or last choose to replicate some random red carpet look (Bob last season and Trinity and Nina this season, estc) instead of something more universally recognizable? Regardless of how accurately reproduced they were, it just seems like a wasted opportunity and makes for a boring runway. The same can be said about choosing obscure and/or non-descript characters or celebrities for Snatch Game that aren't known for their personalities, just their looks (Amanda Lepore, etc.). Cynthia or Valentina should have done Charo. That would have been at least funny and Cynthia could have traded in Cucu for Cuchi Cuchi. Another missed opportunity for some easy laughs, which is all that's really required to be successful in Snatch Game. There needs to be a moratorium moving forward that that the queens are not allowed to portray another RDR queen in Snatch Game.

The "Madonna at the Met" look by Trinity and Nina went global since Madonna flashed her bare ass at the cameras. If you're even a casual Madonna watcher, you know that outfit/look.

Someone thinks that Bob's Madonna look was the best? Bob's runway looks were every bit as bad and nowhere near as hopeful as Jinkx Monsoon's. They had to give BoB the win for his average snatch game. His Madonna runway was good for BoB, everyone else was bad. A Madonna runway is a great idea, but it takes more imagination than most those boys could call up. There's a reason that the weaker queens always look better in the singing and acting challenges. Production provides them with wardrobe hair and makeup. Think BoB in the Empire challenge. Bitch never looked like that before or after. Well now he has a makeup artist. His drag act was phenomenal before but he was just an actor in a wig. He has better ones and discovered that dark skin needs color and high the fuck light. I find him real inauthentic as a drag queen. As a waste of space and bag of wind he is successful.

I have a mad crush on that boy. Miss Fame is good friends with Violet. Nothing missing with "look" queens when they are as creative and ambitious as those two.

Yes R371. Chi Chi was on the RuPaul season 8 tour, bringing it everynight. Chi Chi has done a couple of spots on WOWpresents, was at Dragcon, has elevated her drag but kept up the great showmanship. She's not a superstar but she sure ain't washing cars no more. Not a social media favorite but she IS a crowd favorite. Make sure you watch this to the end. Last Dance is Kennedy Davenport's signature number, but Chi Chi has her own moves. She work hard for those tips honey.

Robbie Turner said some very complimentary things about Chi Chi on Hey Qween. He was funny and honest about what a terrible attitude she had during the show. He said the rest all saw Chi Chi as a threat and a star but she thought they were fucking with her head! Robbie was very funny and insightful on his episode of Hey Qween. Those Seattle queens have unique perspectives. He said some hilarious things about BOB too. Chi Chi will be on in a few weeks. Chi Chi was always a good looking dude, he's still a masculine drag queen, but he has much prettier dresses now, ha. I know nothing about Thorgy because I find him gross and artificial.

This was definitely the best episode of this season thus far. The queens were well cast, the writing was clever and the acting was funny. The runway was also on point. Shea, Trinity, Valentina are the obvious choices for top three as of now (deservedly so). Hopefully, the show will pick up steam from here on out.

Unless the cast is really exceptional, like in Season 6, having 14 queens makes for a long and plodding season.

One thing I liked about last year's season is that there were only 12 queens, so it moved along at a steady pace and had a good mix of challenges.

Was uneven, at best.

Shea and Peppermint were good. Either could have won and I'd have been fine with it, but Peppermint was overdue for a win and she looked beautiful.

Sasha was good, too, but, she's very forgettable. Someone upthread commented on another post of mine that I didn't mention Sasha. It's because I never remember what she's done. I can't warm up to Nina, but, she didn't suck. Trinity sucked. She's VERY lucky Farrah and Alexis were even worse.

Farrah was ghastly. She's cried all season, yet she didn't cry when eliminated. Glad to be rid of her. For someone so "nice" her roasting was just mean without being funny. She'll be fine with more maturity.

Again, Alexis came off as a joyless hypocrite. It's okay to call Farrah a whore, but, she gets apoplexy when her own obvious pear-shape is mentioned. It's the whole, "why didn't anyone tell me my outfit was terrible?" thing all over again. She's an egomaniac with nothing to back it up. The green body thing with the differently-shaded tit pads, the flat jokes (but she was eager to close the act so she could "let them eat cake" as if there'd be any cake left), and her attitude made her look even worse than Farrah the Tin Woodsmillennial.

I hope Season 10 is better. Or, hopefully we'll get a good All Stars III. Katya suggests an all winners season, too. It's a good idea.

Alexis Michelle was going to stink up the room whether she was last in the lineup or anywhere else. She displayed after the reading challenge that she had no sense of humor, but can pull of 'characters' that are funny like Liza and Kris Kardashian. Alexis is a true theater queen.

Now I'm leaning towards Sasha at least making Top Four. But I think she's too edgy and serious and smart for a win (sad, but true)

R425 is, of course, ridiculous. Raja was the only stand-out in Season 3 and is on a level with or higher than the other winners. The hammy Luzon still doesn't get it fully and has only repeated herself, while always looking like a 1970s drag queen.

Raja is one of the queens who have set the contemporary drag scene in a formative way. Her development and focus on runway style, high fashion, persona (more firmly gender-fluid in a non-stereortypical way), and cutting humor outside the stereotypes leave anyone else in that season coughing on her dust.

But R425 is just one of those dullards who can't do anything except make a tired assertion out her tedious bias.

If that SPOILER is true (DON'T READ FURTHER IF YOU DON"T WANT TO KNOW THE SPOILER) ......... why the fuck would Valentina do that when she's made it half way through the season and done pretty well. It has to be some kind of Yara Sofia breakdown or she is really pissed about the critique she gets on the runway.

'Giving up' or trying to create a controversial exit is NOT a good look. Looking at you Charlie Hands and Tammie Brown.

Raja is gross. It's true that the other west coast drag queens over 35 look up to him/are afraid of him. The younger and more urban queens just deal with him as they have to. He's the Helen Gurley Brown of drag queens. Antiquated, opinionated and still taking laxatives to stay thin. He smells funny. He has skills, that much is true. I like that he can occasionally admit how jealous he is of young pretty queens, but does he accept it? No.

I'm late on watching the episode but this roast overall was pretty weak, I was actually missing Eureka who I think would have done well at this.

I think Trinity has a chance to win, too, R452. We haven't had a true pagent queen winner in a long time, maybe ever. While Shea and Trinity are turning in fine performances, I am just not that impressed. They're just so workmanlike in their wins, they don't ever knock it out of the park like Bianca and Bob consistently did in acting/comedy challenges. Shea is less busted than Trinity but neither of them have wowed me with their looks, and they don't have clear talents either, so...what's the point? Technically Sasha is in there too, and her looks are much stronger and more interesting than the other frontrunners, but her "intellectual" shtick is ultimately derivative and basic, and the judges are not having it. Hello second alternate.

Like Gaga said the first episode, the only two queens who strike me as potentially real stars are Valentina and Nina. Nina has a strong, unique visual point of view as a drag queen(ie exactly what the top three lack), and Valentina has such lovely natural charisma and a delightfully weird sense of humor - her roast and Ms. Colombia were so cringetastically funny. Neither is going to win, or is even competing at full strength. Valentina needs a little more seasoning to fully come into her own, and Nina needs therapy/meds/Jesus because she's having a depressive episode on TV and it's just uncomfortable at this point. So that's disappointing. But it's less "these two are so great" because I have non-competitive favorites every season(Acid Betty, anyone?), it's more annoyance that the frontrunners aren't better.

And Alexis is just fat.

One thing I really disliked about Season 7 was the favoritism given towards Ginger Minj and Kennedy Davenport, neither of whom would have been anywhere near the top 4 in any earlier season. Katya should have won the John Waters challenge over Ginger, and how the hell Kennedy won that challenge where Trixie went home (the first time) is beyond me.

Ah well, what's done is done. Ginger getting sent home early in AS2 while Katya made the top 3 was very satisfying.

I've checked out of the season. I don't know, I don't particularly dislike any of the queens left, but I must say that All Stars 2 really set the bar high in terms of entertainment. They really just got it so right with AS2. Season 9 is just.....so fucking bland. I can't do it. I'll tune in for the finale but I just have no interest in watching anymore episodes.

Sasha seems like a nice, pretentious person. But she unfortunately has that annoying wheezing inhale laugh that reminds me of shit like Howdy Doody and bucktoothed donkeys. It's so fucking annoying.

Peppermint? I like her as a person, but I've been disappointed by her other than her lip synch , even her finally having a "big win" this episode didn't feel that well earned. And I can't forget that her snatch was painfully bad.

You really need to go back and watching Season 7, Ginger was KILLING IT in many challenges. So many contestants have admitted they felt it was a done deal Ginger was going to win the season. The competition between Violet and Ginger was actually the best recent race for the crown because it could have gone either way.

Kennedy, I completely agree was given special treatment the whole season (there are always queens that Ru protects because he wants them to last).

Another strange LSFYL

Sasha is talented but entirely forgettable and without charisma or any exciting personality.

Alexis is a thoroughly unpleasant person and nowhere near as glorious as she thinks she is. I dislike her whole pushy, sullen, defensive, self-important attitude.

Shea and Peppermint are good, but not terribly polished compared to past contestants. Peppermint should be coming off better than she is though she's the one I'm rooting for, if anyone, to win.

Trinity is dull.

Nina is a paranoid schizophrenic and off-putting.

And Valentina really fucked up. Did she really think she'd get away with wearing that mask.

Between Charlie's non-participation and Ru stopping Valentina's lip sync (a first), it's the weirdest season for LSFYL.

A sluggish, lackluster season with dull queens. Sad. Makes Season 8 look like Shakespeare.

Valentina is a lock for All Stars 3 but she won't get any closer to winning. Something is off about that boy. Nina is the next to go and just in time too. Valentina will not be back this season. Ru was not charmed by her the way he was by Adore or even Pearl on previous seasons. This elimination reminded me more of the fuckery with Max in season 7. Don't half ass it AND act like you know better than Rupaul. He forgets them all when they're gone anyway. I don't think one winner was picked because of fan pressure, though one has lost because of it....

This was a fun episode for all that went wrong. It's been pretty dull till now. Runway was pretty hot tonight. Alexis kills me, he's such a yenta. Peppermint is a sweet light and Trinity is a more fun person than Detox ever was. Yeah it's a weak top group and there is little suspense. Shea Coulee has won 3 challenges now. Don't really see how she is gonna lose.

Lots of people are freaking out on social media, especially Twitter, about Valentina. "WHY?!?!?" "HOW COULD THEY DO THIS?!?" "I'M DONE WITH RPDR!!!!" etc. Some rational people understood why Valentina was chosen for the bottom two and eventually eliminated -- a very poor challenge (even the editing couldn't save the lack of preparation, lack of jokes and poor acting) plus not meeting the look of the runway (NOT club kid) and then basically throwing the lip sync. A few were saying Alexis deserved to be in LSFYL but at least she was saved by doing a passable job in the sitcom challenge. Worst of all of the messages on Twitter, etc were the ones calling out Ru, saying she didn't know talent, didn't recognize new styles of drag and generally saying she doesn't "get it". Of course, most of this is coming come very young people and straight females who probably don't know / remember the classic houses and balls which drag was originally all about

Valentina is far better than Alexis & a couple of the other queens. It's too bad she fucked up the challenge (they decided to impov... not a good decision, with no improv skills). She should've been on the show longer. He outfit wasn't club kid at all. Trinity's outfit was amazing.

That means you know the song well before the lip sinc .............. take an hour to prepare something or at least listen to the song twenty times.

Peppermint is super cool and a good spirit. She's also been doing drag for 20 years and is a well known host and performer. No one expects her to lose her humanity sweetness or talent IF she removes her dick. A DICK is DICK forever but a nice guy transitions into a nice girl, especially when he's a queen.

I'm confused about one thing though.

Valentina was the winner of Dragula a few years back (back when it was just a club show, before the webshow) yet she prepared such a lackluster Club Kid look? Her taking part in a competition like that and apparently doing well should mean she has a fair understanding of club kid drag and also unconventional avant garde drag right?

Did she purposefully prepare a safe/pretty runway look just to promote her her current "pretty girl" aesthetic? Couldn't she have easily prepared a sickening proper "Club Kid" outfit?? It's really annoying and perplexing. A passing viewer of the show would think she is "too young" has "no frame of reference" when I'm certain that isn't the case.

Some of us called it. Valentina is beautiful and polished looking but there's something missing. I never believed she would win. Shea seems most rounded and carries herself well. However, Sasha is right up there too. Maybe we will have 2 winners!

OMG, r537! One of the first things I thought of when I saw Valentine was she was giving me so much Rocio Dulcal !

It's so disappointing that Valentina blew her opportunity so spectacularly. She was clearly a lock for top 3, if not the ultimate victory. She was the most intriguing of all of the queens this season, she served some of the best runway looks (and was surely saving some of her very best looks for the end) and would have fit nicely in Rupaul's pantheon of winners. All she had to do was learn the words to that stupid song and she could have just preened like a peacock on that stage, while Nina flailed and contorted herself left and right and Tina would have been chosen to stay easily based on the strength of her performance in the competition thus far. She was done in by her overconfidence and that's a shame, because it wasn't totally unreasonable for her to think that the bottom two would be Nina and Alexis (deservedly so), but to not come prepared was really foolish. This top 6 is the most lackluster in the history of this show and almost all of these queens would have been an also ran in any other season. Valentina really wasted her golden chance to outshine this boring bunch.

Raja's a phony but a real phony. Valentina was a faker and I suspect one spoiled little bitch. Nina is fascinating and has beautiful chocolate skin. He does all this jungle ghoul drag but looks damn good in more glam stuff too. Too bad about the lazy/crazy.

It is a weak top group but I think Peppermint is getting the winner's edit. If they fix it so she wins another challenge, Shea should start worrying. Call me crazy but I think Trinity is a blast. This last episode was very good. There's hope. I just rewatched season 7 and it was better than I remembered. Nobody can sell me on Season 8 though.

I don't see Valentina as a faker per se. I see her as playing a character and having a definite brand that she was pretty true to throughout. Her brand is what made her stand out. The rest, with the exception of Nina and Sasha, don't seem to have a discernible drag identity. Shea and Trinity are both competitive and can switch up their looks, but they're not memorable. The best drag queens on this show had a hook, a look or an angle that made them stand out. Valentina had that, whereas many of the other queens this season just don't. Just my humble opinion though.

Like most people who aren't ready for the 24/7 grind needed to make it in showbiz, Valentina saw the finish line, panicked, and sabotaged herself. She may be crying on the outside but she is breathing heavy sighs of relief on the inside.

Which one of these queens is ready to join the BOTS girls on the bus and bust her ass night after night for tips? Which one can smile through the Boos and do an endless series of death drops even though her feet are killing her?

Maybe Trinity. Maybe,. But that's it.

Valentina will always be my reina from season 9. But, she began to slide a few episodes ago. Her acting chops are OK (not great) and her writing is pretty awful (the roast was mediocre though I LOVED her NewJersey-Latina outfit -- very on-point). She is one of the queens (like Trixie and Ben DeLa) who are great at drag, but fail at Drag Race. I would've liked to see more of her on the show (spcially with the next few challenges coming up), but, c'mon! What an iconic exit. Good or bad, everyone will remember when Ru had to stop a motherfuckin lip sync! And she has enough fans , annoying as they may be to those of us over a certain age but she has the most followers on Instagram I think enough to put her in the top 10 of all RuGirls followed, that she will probably not miss a beat.

It seems like Shea and Sasha are locks for Top Three right now, which confuses me. I don't understand the fanbase and/or "winner's edit" that Shea is getting. She's never been more than mediocre. Her performance challenges are just funny enough, and her looks are just interesting enough. There's no edge that puts her above anyone else in the competition.

And I think Sasha's appeal is mostly for teenagers who think she's cute as a guy and buy into her pseudo-intellectual artist act, as cultivated as it is. Although I think she has mostly good intentions, her weekly lectures on gay history are a little patronizing and self-aggrandizing. I can tell Ru and the rest of the judges are over her intellectual posturing too.

The worst part of it is that she has good intentions and influences she puts into her looks and performances. But they're too cerebral and have trouble translating their intent without her explanations. For someone as interested in the 90's Club Kid aesthetic as she seemed to be, the best she could manage was a clown dress? I think it's unlikely she'll win, because she can't connect to an audience.

I think they are the best of a rather sad lot. Though if I voted, Top 2 would be Shea and Trinity.

R581, I had high hopes for Nina and Valentina. This will probably be one of those seasons where the best talent leaves early because their talent at drag doesn't translate to talent at Drag Race. Shea, Sasha, and Alexis seem to be failing upwards.

I guess Trinity? Maybe? The fawning SNL sketch will probably do more to push Ru in that direction than anything else, provided she doesn't get eliminated before the Top 4.
