Starts tonight, and we have Gus Fring on board for this season.
I CAN'T WAIT

You can even Two-Step watching Saul. Or maybe Hora.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 10, 2017 7:32 PM |
Great work this season so far. As good as BB without the sense of dread permeating everything.
(I guess to some that would be a minus.)
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 11, 2017 8:46 PM |
It's funny, when I watched Breaking Bad I was so interested in Mike's backstory and found him to be such an interesting/compelling character. If they had pitched a prequel about Mike, I would have been thrilled. I also loved the Saul character, but more as just a fun one-dimensional type. When they announced Better Call Saul I really thought it was a mistake--the equivalent of taking a good 5-8 minute SNL skit and trying to stretch it out into a full length movie. But now I'm completely invested in Jimmy/Saul and barely paying attention to Mike's story. Bob Odenkirk is doing work just as impressive as Bryan Cranston did in BB.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 11, 2017 8:55 PM |
Forgot to add: So is Michael McKean as Chuck.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 11, 2017 9:01 PM |
Season 1 was kind of dragging on and meandering without any real plot to speak of. Season 2 was a vast improvement and really got me hooked.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 11, 2017 9:03 PM |
I'm gonna wait until the entire season is uploaded on one of my bootleg websites. I like to binge on that show.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 11, 2017 9:16 PM |
[quote] But now I'm completely invested in Jimmy/Saul and barely paying attention to Mike's story.
I'm the opposite. Mike is nearly the entire show, sandwiched between mildly interesting interludes with Saul's shenanigans like fast-talking his way next to that Air Force bomber, and sleep-inducing brother and girlfriend subplots.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 11, 2017 9:30 PM |
I just enjoy the ride on this show. The writing, acting, cinematography, directing is just so top notch it is a joy to relax and take it in.

by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 11, 2017 11:10 PM |
Talking Saul was good too.
I think everyone involved in BCS is as good as it gets.
There is not one throwaway character either, Ernesto , the other law partner, the cartel kid et al,all give great performances.
Kim is fascinating as the conscious of the show, the punctuation thing on the computer reminded me of The Datalounge!
I think the other law partner is going to become a much bigger part of the show, due to his being made complicit in the illegally procured tape recording. He's about to go (more) into self-preservation mode.
I disagree though with those who don't find the relationship of the brothers compelling.
I can't think of many shows that have captured the relationship between brothers as well as this.
I'm thinking of Six Feet Under as I type. It's nice to see some people here that like it.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 11, 2017 11:11 PM |
LOVE this show! That Vince Gilligan is a fucking genius. As he said in the aftershow, they could have just made it a goofy comedy spinoff, but instead they have found their way to a finely crafted multilayered dramatic series that has genuinely funny moments, as well as heartbreaking drama.
All the acting is outstanding, however to me the central relationship is between the two brothers. Michael McKean is so excellent and totally credible as Chuck. You actually feel sympathy for both of them at different times. Chuck has that great monologue to Kim about their father's little store and how he discovered Jimmy's pilfering the till; later we see young Jimmy, hip to the scam artist customer with the hard luck story, but unable to convince his dad he's being scammed. And when their mother dies, calling for Jimmy, Chuck's pain is palpable.
The storylines unfold so gradually, enhanced by the flashbacks and the flash forwards. Montages and musical selections are so intelligently done; I binged on season 2 during the day, and the episode called "Rebecca" opens with a long montage of Kim making calls, out in the parking garage in the rain, post its all over the wall, all set to a Spanish version of "My Way", that is as good as anything in any feature film.
I love that they are taking their sweet time as the story progresses, and I hope this show gets the recognition it deserves. Bob Odenkirk is fabulous.

Great analysis, r14. Catching up on S2 Monday there were a few things I had forgotten; and the seamless flow into S3 was truly great. I'm so glad BCS is back!!

Amazing episode. This is the best written show on tv, hands down. No spoilers, but some familiar faces make their debut. And the Volvo too, for sharp-eyed viewers🚗
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 18, 2017 5:01 AM |
I'm with you, R8. This show is all Mike Ehrmantraut for me, and now that Gus Fring is back, I get my favorite combo, the Mike & Gus show. I fucking love those two (Breaking Bad's fourth season is still my favorite, and they're a bit part why). I do think the two brothers are fascinating, but Jimmy on his own just annoys me, he's such a little bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 18, 2017 5:08 AM |
Giancarlo Esposito better get the Emmy he deserved during Breaking Bad.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 18, 2017 5:23 AM |
whoops, that was 'big' part of why.
Giancarlo looks fabulous for 58, but he's going to look even 'better' in another few years when we get to the Breaking Bad timeline.

Ep. 3:
I've never been more terrified to see a fast food franchise sign!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 18, 2017 6:11 AM |
I started watching it when it was airing (and I also DVR it). In the very beginning when he's working in the restaurant, the music was skipping and maybe the video too. Was that how it started, or was my cable provider having satellite/technical issues?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 18, 2017 1:17 PM |
It would be a fun ending if it turns out that Saul working at the Cinnabon in Omaha is just his version of Gus Fring's "hide in plain sight" philosophy, and Saul is secretly the Meth King of the Midwest.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 18, 2017 5:04 PM |
This show is so good now... last night was great. I can't believe they have such a strong plot with Mike, even though it's supposed to focus on Saul. The Mike plot really is great to watch (though I completely forgot how he turned the tracker on them now... but that was quite a move)
I caught the Volvo in the parking lot...ha. But did anyone understand why Gus made that weird face when he was sweeping the outside of the restaurant? He just froze and stared into space...I guess he knew / suspected something? Also, do you think the guy with the backpack in Pollos was supposed to drop it off (it was probably money?) but Gus saw Jimmy staring at him and the sweeping was a sign to say "just leave, you're being watched"?
New Mexico always impresses too, particularly with the way they film it. Brilliant location.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 18, 2017 9:00 PM |
I just realized it was Francesca from Breaking Bad!! Wow.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 18, 2017 11:01 PM |
Yes, Gus knew something was up. Then the other guy left the gas cap with the cell phone. Mike probably got a call from him or Gus.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 19, 2017 12:04 AM |
R26 I read a recap that suggested Gus swept up whatever the backpack man brought, but I think your theory is better. And once he figured it out, which we saw by his look out back of LPH, that's when Victor (of box-cutter-to-the-throat fame), picked up the transmitter at the restaurant, driving out to a remote location to leave it for Mike with a phone on top. I can't wait to see the resolution next week!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 19, 2017 2:15 AM |
I'm loving this show, but I did think the numerous shots of Mike following the other guy in his car got a bit boring.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 19, 2017 9:39 AM |
Thanks R29. I was surprised someone thought Gus swept up whatever the guy had because I would guess that he's bringing in cash... in exchange for all the drugs were stored in the Pollos batter as we know from BB. So, it never even occurred to me that he'd be sweeping up something that he brought to Gus. We also know Gus is a genius with near psychic powers, so he probably has mechanisms in place to quietly say "go away" or whatever. Jimmy was not even remotely discrete when staring at the guy. I was like - at least eat you sandwich!
I am surprised I never saw it in this thread: But wasn't Gus thought to be (possibly) gay? I wonder if that is going to come up in this series.
The Machiavellian moves of Jimmy's brother are freaking Brilliant. He has literally started a "hate club" online on other boards... in other words, that character is written / acted so well that he makes people's blood boil.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 19, 2017 12:09 PM |
[quote]But wasn't Gus thought to be (possibly) gay? I wonder if that is going to come up in this series.
Yes, Gus' backstory episode with his partner painted him as ambiguously gay. Vince Gilligan refused to confirm or deny Gus was gay, instead just copped out and said it was to the "viewer's interpretation".
by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 19, 2017 1:15 PM |

R38 the flashback at Don Eladio's hacienda was fabulous. Laid the groundwork for much that is to come with Gus v. Hector, some of which we saw last night. And again with Hector mentioning the special relationship between Gus and Max...

by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 2, 2017 6:49 PM |
I love how Steven Bauer played Don Eladio so goddamned crazy. You know those Cartel leaders are out of their minds and the way he kept fucking with everyone was great.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 2, 2017 6:50 PM |
I am wondering where Mike's relationship with his daughter in law is going to go. Last season it seemed she was a little skeevy, taking money from him all the time.
Steven Bauer is perfectly cast as Don Eladio, especially as he has put on weight.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 2, 2017 7:48 PM |
I almost didn't recognize Bauer. He's still somewhat sexy, but in a totally different way.

Kim wins the Best Ponytail Ever award IMO. Wonder what will eventually become of her.

It was indeed a terrific episode. Chuck's meltdown on the witness stand was reminiscent of Humphrey Bogart ranting about the strawberries in The Caine Mutiny.

So Chuck is just a neurotic hypochondriac? He should get a lot of sympathy points with many DLers.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 9, 2017 5:27 AM |
I loved "Chicanery," especially the final shot of beaten Chuck in the background with the red "EXIT" sign in the foreground. But the scene with Kim and the Mesa Verde execs was so foreboding. I am assuming that Mesa Verde will eventually find out what actually happened, and that's how Kim and Jimmy's relationship will have a final break. I think their breakup, when it inevitably comes, is going to be heart wrenching. I am dreading that episode, but of course I have to watch it.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 9, 2017 3:10 PM |
Great great Michael McKean scene. I think both he and the actress who plays Kim deserve Emmy awards.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 12, 2017 12:33 AM |
My cable went out right after Jimmy revealed Chuck had a cell phone in his pocket the entire hearing. What happened after that?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 12, 2017 7:27 AM |
Jimmy reveals that the cell phone didn't have a battery. Then he asks Chuck to reach into the pocket of his suit jacket. Chuck finds a cell phone battery there. Jimmy tells the panel the fully charged battery was planted by Huell, and Huell stands up and confirms that. Chuck had earlier testified that batteries are one of the electro-magnetic things that cause his illness, so Jimmy's stunt proves that Chuck's illness is all in his head and doesn't really have a physical basis.
At that point, Chuck has a hysterical, Humphrey Bogart in Caine Mutiny-style meltdown on the witness stand, which reveals how paranoid and nuts he is and how much he hates Jimmy. Everyone in the courtroom is aghast. I can't wait to see what happens next!
R54, you really ought to record a rerun of this episode or watch it on demand, because the part you missed was one of the best episodes in the entire series.

Is Walter, Jr. on BCS?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | May 16, 2017 5:05 PM |
No, R61. BCS is a prequel to "Breaking Bad" so I'm not even sure if Walter Jr. is born yet.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | May 16, 2017 5:17 PM |
It's not that far into the past. I imagine the show's final finale will be Jimmy/Saul meeting Walter Whtie (at the time when Walter Jr. was a teen).
by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 16, 2017 5:18 PM |
Last night's show laid so much groundwork for events we know will occur, plus the ongoing stories of Kim and Chuck, whose fate we don't know.
The writing on BCS is second to none. And r60, start checking out Alan Sepinwall's recaps of BCS on Uproxx--he's a real critic and fan of Gilligan's work. Well worth taking up!
by Anonymous | reply 64 | May 16, 2017 5:26 PM |
Thanks so much for the tip, R64. You're right -- Sepinwall is great!
by Anonymous | reply 65 | May 16, 2017 6:56 PM |
So, recaps are for people too stupid to understand what they just watched, or for those too lazy to watch back episodes?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 16, 2017 8:04 PM |
It's typical R59.
When it becomes the most-watched show on cable (which it will),they'll be here to remind us it's overrated & derivative!
Better Call Saul & Fargo are my shows right now.
Fear The Walking Dead starts in a few weeks. I enjoy that as well.
The scary asshole who winds-up in a wheelchair said "more like butt brothers" when another guy mentioned LPH & Fring.
The Gale storyline in BB was one that really upset me and stayed with me.
Also I remember being taken aback at the children's toys scattered in the hallway of Fring's home when he invites Walter over and cooks dinner for the two of them.
We never saw kids a wife or partner or even the inside of Fring's home again.

by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 16, 2017 9:50 PM |
I'm loving this show so much and wish more people shared my enthusiasm. "Chicanery" was an outstanding episode, and Michael McKean was phenomenal. I am sad, though, to know that a breakup is coming eventually between Kim and Jimmy.
Has Vince Gilligan ever said how many seasons he plans to do the show? Or does it just depend on ratings?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | May 17, 2017 12:41 PM |
[quote]I am sad, though, to know that a breakup is coming eventually between Kim and Jimmy.
We don't really know that for sure, do we? I mean I know Kim is not in BB, but then we never saw much of Saul Goodman's personal life, did we?
by Anonymous | reply 70 | May 17, 2017 3:50 PM |
Count me as another fan of this inexplicably underrated show, which is better, and in many cases far better, than just about anything else that passes as prestige TV these days. And thanks for the Sepinwall tip. I've read and liked his work in the past but I hadn't realized he was writing about this show.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | May 17, 2017 4:02 PM |
I, too, have been assuming that Kim and Jimmy eventually break up, and that the breakup devastates Jimmy and is the catalyst for him becoming Saul Goodman, but I hope I'm wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | May 17, 2017 4:18 PM |
I love this show too, and wish someone would just walk up and hand Michael McKean an Emmy. Jimmy's one year suspension from the bar turns him into Saul Goodman, seller of local TV time slots!
The Vince Gilligan is a fucking GENIUS.

Every time Michael Mando's on-screen my hand goes into my pants.

by Anonymous | reply 75 | May 17, 2017 6:24 PM |
I like Mike, but I thought some of the episodes dealing only with him got boring. Love that Gus is back and love the two brother storylines. I actually like this better than BB. I like the humor, which was not as prevalent in BB in the later years, and this show has more heart because it delves deeper into the personalities. It is hard to hate Jimmy, his heart us in the right place, especially with Kim, but he is nuts. And Mando who wants to protect his dad.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | May 17, 2017 6:25 PM |
Michael Mando is so much cuter when he smiles, something he rarely gets the opportunity to do on BCS.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | May 17, 2017 7:26 PM |
[quote] the breakup devastates Jimmy and is the catalyst for him becoming Saul Goodman,
You missed that Jimmy became Saul Goodman in this last episode. Jimmy is barred from legal practice for twelve months plus he cannot advertise. To unload the television commercial time he had already bought he made a commercial advertising he would make commercials for other businesses. To disguise himself he wore a fake beard and called himself Saul Goodman.
Watching this Kim looked at him funny and he shrugs saying "It's just a name".
I loved seeing the "for sale" laundry and Lydia again.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | May 17, 2017 7:39 PM |
I wonder if he stays Saul Goodman even after he gets his law license back because of Chuck. Maybe he and Chuck reach some kind of truce/deal where Jimmy severs ties with him completely, including his name, thus freeing Jimmy up to become as shady as he wants to be without Chuck worrying about anyone knowing they are related. That would be a bittersweet end to their story.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | May 17, 2017 7:59 PM |
Thanks, R78, I need to catch up with this week's episode!
by Anonymous | reply 80 | May 17, 2017 8:06 PM |
I think one of the clever things this show explores is less the evolution of Jimmy into the amoral Saul (he was always Saul, "since he was nine years old" in Chuck's cry on the witness stand) than the way in which Chuck's need for revenge turns him into a version of his brother, in his willingness to play-act in order to trap his brother. Michael McKean is wonderful as Chuck.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | May 17, 2017 8:07 PM |
McKean is currently on Broadway in THE LITTLE FOXES, along with Cynthia Nixon and Laura Linney alternating roles. McKean is Ben, and I'll bet he is wonderful. Anyone seen it?
by Anonymous | reply 82 | May 17, 2017 10:48 PM |
McKean really is terrific. And the rest of the cast, especially Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, and Rhee Seehorn, are also outstanding.
When this show started I thought it would be horrible. Because Saul Goodman was basically comic relief on Breaking Bad, I thought the show would play like a one-note sitcom. But Gilligan et al. have done a great job of imagining the Jimmy/Saul character and giving him complexity and depth. And they've created wonderful new characters as well, Chuck and Kim in particular.
My one disappointment is that they haven't done more with Mike. They haven't done enough to flesh him out or add anything more to him than what we already saw in Breaking Bad. The Mike-centered part of the story is still good and watchable, but it's not at the same level as the Saul part.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | May 17, 2017 10:58 PM |
Another terrific episode last night. Odenkirk is such a fine actor. In the last scene, with the malpractice insurance agent, you could see his frustration leading increasingly to his transformation into the Saul Goodman of "Breaking Bad." And Rhea Seehorn (Kim) continues to be brilliant. Gosh, only three more episodes in the season.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | May 23, 2017 6:45 PM |
Agreed R84, I thought he was genuinely breaking down in the insurance office until he started talking about Chuck then I thought, "You glorious bastard!"
The look on Kim's face in the bar when Jimmy was talking about how to take down the "asshole" was a perfect bit of acting on Rhea Seehorn's part.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | May 23, 2017 6:56 PM |
I agree about that scene with Seehorn, R85. You could see her slowly becoming a little frightened, wondering how much Jimmy might have changed because of his feud with his brother.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | May 23, 2017 8:54 PM |
In a cast filled with terrific actors, I think Seehorn is my favorite. She's doing a remarkable job.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | May 24, 2017 12:24 PM |
You can see that Kim is slowly drifting away from Jimmy and it makes me sad.
I must be in the minority that I was never a Mike fan, he just seems so smug and grumpy.
I am really curious about Hector's pill and if that is how he ends up in the wheelchair.

[quote]I must be in the minority that I was never a Mike fan, he just seems so smug and grumpy.
I have to agree. I don't like that they've turned him into a superhero capable of getting away with everything he does and always knowing what's going on. Although I guess it's ironic considering his ending on Breaking Bad.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | May 27, 2017 2:19 PM |
No episode aired this Monday because of the holiday. But the next episode has leaked online. It's the version that aired in Spain--in English but with hard-coded subs in Spanish, plus a few lines of dialogue in Spanish that, for obvious reasons, were not subtitled in English.
You can find the episode in the usual places online. It's a very good episode but nothing earth-shattering happens, in case you were wondering.

I don't understand the lack of love (or at least posts) here for this show. I just read that it's the number one cable show.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | June 18, 2017 11:00 AM |
R91 - It may be a lack of love or it may just be that Datalounge people can't keep up with peak tv right now or that they're prioritizing more bingeable shows? I LOVED seasons 1 and 2, but something about S3 is faltering for me. It feels so fragmented. Anyone who's watched Breaking Bad knows how all these seemingly loose strings come together, but that doesn't really make the narrative drive that compelling at this point. Beyond that, I think the introduction of Gus -- which I was CHEERING about at the end of S2, when it seemed all but certain he'd be back -- has thrown the show's balance off for me. Partly because the actor who plays Gus is so compelling, but partly because we know how insane Gus' story gets and so these early stories seem so tame and dull by comparison. And the wonderful Bob Odenkirk is starting to feel like a supporting actor in his own show.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | June 18, 2017 6:44 PM |
R91 I'm in complete agreement with you. Very disappointing.
Peter Gould (co-creator with VG) indicated online that tomorrow's finale will be unlike anything they've done so far on BCS. This season has been great, and the evolution last week of Jimmy into Saul with what he did to the little old lady was really mean and cruel.
Maybe by next year it will catch on on the DL...

This show has not been cancelled - on the "Talking Saul" aftershow they talked about Season 4. You may be thinking of FARGO.
And I don't think McKean indicated in any way that Chuck was dead. One of the fucking DIRECTORS was on the show and said they had not even started working on Season 4 yet, and that even he doesn't know whether Chuck is dead, or could be seen in flashbacks in Season 4.
Some of you really need to WAKE UP AND PAY ATTENTION.

R101 maybe you should follow your own advice before telling others what to do. In an interview with the NYT, McKean confirmed that, as far as he had been told, he was no longer on the show with the exception of flashbacks.
Such misery from you on a sunny Tuesday morning! What's the rest of your day going to be like?

R101 Do you have reading comprehension issues? No one said it's been cancelled, what was said is that it has not yet been RENEWED. Do you understand the distinction?

***SPOILER ALERT*** I'm so relieved that Kim survived to be in season 4 (if there is a season 4, and I'm really hoping there is), but Chuck's suicide was a shocker. I'm really gonna miss the dynamic between the two brothers, which I found to be the most interesting thing about Better Call Saul.

I decided to rewatch the season 2 episode of Breaking Bad where Walt and Jesse are abducted and held hostage in a house in the desert with Hector. As much as I'm loving Better Call Saul, that episode reminded me that Breaking Bad is a far superior show. The dynamics between Walt/Skyler and Walt/Jesse are so much more involving than the ones between Saul/Chuck and Saul/Kim on Better Call Saul. I wonder if it's because Walter White is a more complex character than Saul Goodman. That said, I still love Better Call Saul and hope it comes back.

Great show.

Is Patrick Fabian totally fuckable or just incredibly hot?

He's a DILF

I'm genuinely surprised to learn he's married to a woman and has two kids.

Oh, my straight-dar was working on him.

He reminds me somewhat of Terry Lester, looks-wise.

[quote]BCS is a prequel to "Breaking Bad" so I'm not even sure if Walter Jr. is born yet.
Just finished catching up on the show -- for what it's worth, we learn that the final episode is set in 2003, so Walter Jr. would be roughly 10 or 11 at this point. He was about 15 in Breaking Bad when it started in 2008, if I recall.

[quote] I mean I know Kim is not in BB, but then we never saw much of Saul Goodman's personal life, did we?
He hits on Francesca in Breaking Bad so it's implied that he wasn't in a relationship during BB.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | June 26, 2017 11:10 AM |
I disagree r105. BB is a different type of show than BCS. BB is more of a thriller whereas BCS is a straight drama. In some ways I actually prefer BCS. No relationship in BB is as complex and fraught as that of Chuck and Jimmy.

I still love this show, but something shifted for me this season with the reintroduction of Gus and the whole drug industry storyline. Gus & co's stories felt almost quaint because we know how much more dramatic they're going to get, so I found them not terribly compelling (despite brilliant performances by everyone). And, as a result of adding this whole element back into this universe, it somewhat minimized Jimmy/Saul - it felt like he was almost becoming a supporting player in his own show.

The guy who plays Mike kinda freaked me out on BB. As the years went on he got older and looked sick, but not a wasting away sick. It wasn't just that he was getting older. When I watch him on BCS I can just imagine him keeling over. Am I the only one who has noticed this?
by Anonymous | reply 117 | July 5, 2017 9:26 PM |
Are you asking if you're the only person who has noticed the passage of time, R117?
by Anonymous | reply 118 | July 6, 2017 1:09 AM |
I'm with R116. It's odd that the characters who were really propelling the plots on BB feel like a drag here (Gus and co.) This season was good but it felt like a strange blend of really dramatically intense episodes and, by that, I mean the ones which focused on Jimmy's and Chuck's relationship, as well as KIm and the law firm doings, and the rest that felt rather ephemeral. It did end on a high note, though. Season 2 was the strongest one so far but I'm glad a show like this is getting deserved praise.

I don't like the trope of Mike's character: bad guy with a code. Bleh.

Who are they going to have to recast because of #MeToo?

I'm not buying this, r121. AMC had a "Breaking Bad" marathon throughout January and several promos for BCS specifically said "returning Summer 2018".
by Anonymous | reply 123 | February 9, 2018 2:46 AM |
Well, the article says September and summer officially ends on September 22, so... could be true.

In the original meeting when masked Walter White and Jessie take Saul at gunpoint, Saul names a guy and asks if he sent them after him. Apparently that guy whoever it was will be an element of the new season.

r127 See Bob's ass.

So does Saul pretend to be a Jewish lawyer or is he really a Jewish lawyer?
This show confuses me.

AMC announced today at the TCA Summer Press Tour that Better Call Saul has been set for season 5. The announcement comes ahead of its season 4 premiere and its recent appearance at San Diego Comic-Con. Better Call Saul joins Fear the Walking Dead and McMafia in AMC’s slate of renewed shows announced at TCA.
Season three of the Breaking Bad prequel spin-off ranked as the #5 cable drama among adults 25-54.

R132. his explanation in "Breaking Bad" is that he was Irish but the name Saul Goodman (s'all good, man) was for the homeboys who wanted a lawyer that was a hard-hitting member of the Tribe

R137 at least not this season. Though both Gilligan and Aaron have said it's likely at some point we will see him.
There will be some new BB crossover this season; given Gus's mention last night of the DEA I'm going to guess it will be Steve Gomez. No Hank this season per Gilligan.
Or possibly Danny Trejo as Tortuga or Bill Burr as Kuby, since we saw the mighty Huell last season.
So disappointed there isn't more interest here for "Saul"
