I'm not OP but she had bladder cancer, R12. She said the tumor was the size of a grapefruit.

Listeners of the Sirius broadcast have been speculating for a few months that it sounds like Robin is broadcasting from home again, like she did back when she was recuperating from her cancer surgery, leading to rumors that she may be ill again. According to this recent article from Radar, it looks like Robin may be having serious health issues once more.

Cancer is a bitch! She probably relapsed. I wonder how she can tolerate Stern all these years! He's mellowed out some, but he used to be on some serious racist, misogynistic shit. Although they said it was just a persona and not the "real" him, it should still suck to be associated with it as a black woman. It is like a gay person working for someone who talked about "fags should die from AIDS" for 20 years.

I adore Robin, and I know that she really loves Howard, regardless of his "on air" persona over the many years.

The giveaway is not her voice - she doesn't sound sick. Longtime listeners picked up on the slight difference of her voice through the equipment; the ISDN line kinda sounds like a person in a vacant room and the volume is louder.

I just read some Robin gossip that made me go hmmmm. Faithful fans remember a few years ago that Robin got big into charities - she even started a few. Apparently, the rumor is that at least one of her charities was not set up correctly and the funds flowing in/out got the attention of the IRS.

We know that all talk of Robin's charities died down to nothing after a while; part of this mess involved gossip that Robin's blond boytoy at the time, Brendan, was supposedly only using Robin to sell his paintings/was involved in some funny busine$$ with her charities. More dirt: Robin thought this Brendan was all about her, but got pissed after seeing him dirty dancing with some young blond at some fundraiser they were throwing. Around this time, Robin made a cryptic announcement on the air that "I will never mention my charity, etc., as I was betrayed by my friends".

The new stuff I read was that when Robin was broadcasting from home all those months after her surgery, some of that "away time" was actually that she was under house arrest. The IRS came after her for illegal handling of funds collected by the charities and she made a deal to stay out of jail. WHattt! Who has heard this bit of dirt before?

More clues that Robin ain't in the studio: this morning Howard went on a semi-rant about Kelly Ripa choosing Ryan Seacrest as her new cohost. He was winding up to a snit -- he kept talking and talking and normally Robin would be chiming in... but she didn't. You could tell that Howard kept talking to cover her non-response/fill the silence, then he finally asked Gary a question just so he could have a 2-way conversation.

If Robin was in the studio, Howard would have be able to look over and see she wasn't in her little box and acknowledge why he wasn't getting her feedback. Instead, Robin is in a different location and Howard has to work blind and hope she's at her mic/there are no equipment failures.

House arrest ? That would be so fucking hilarious if it were true and came out, although I'm sure Robin would be too proud to agree to talk about it on the show. But I sure like THAT theory better !

There's absolutely NO WAY to be on house arrest as a result of an IRS problem without there being a public record of it. Sure, these things can be sealed, after the fact, but not while the charges are pending and during the sentence. TMZ and the like monitor all of these court filings and there's just no way any of that nonsense could have escaped the public's attention.

ISDN lines, which are far superior to internet connections for remotes like Robin's doing, are now nearly impossible to get.

I like her and hope she's doing OK.

Howard used to go on and on and on about her father molesting her. That turned me off more than the racist stuff he would say.

Due to the legal snafu raised by the issues with the charity funds, Robin was required to pay a hefty fine(s) and had to sell one at least one of her homes to raise the money for that. It's said that this put Robin in dire financial straits and she lost so much $$ that she basically was almost broke/had to "start over".

I think the likelihood of Robin being under house arrest is nil....I agree this would be exposed by TMZ....

But overall, if she is not in the studio- it is hard to tell at times and generally seems like she is in the studio..

No way she's broke--she makes nearly as much as Howard. Unless she's really bad with money, but she's never given that impression.

I don't think that Robin is broke NOW but if you believe this scenario, she presumably lost a good deal of her funds back in the days after her charities closed up shop. Probably enough time has passed that she's been able to put herself back in the red.

She makes nowhere near as much as Howard. Granted, she still makes good money, but not close to Howard level.

R41 She makes 10% of what Howard does. So $80 million/Yr = $8 million/Yr. Who knows what he's making in the new contract? They work something like 2-3 days a week with lots of vacation time.

R41/R42, I swear I remember a broadcast where they talked about how much everyone made and Robin was surprisingly close to Howard. Maybe that was an old contract or they weren't including any bonus/upfront money.

She does sound a bit weak this week. Hope she's ok.

I remember some shows where Robin's charities were discussed and Robin being a bit of a bully.

Sal came into the studio and was complaining that Robin cornered him and Richard and TOLD them that they would be performing at one of her upcoming fundraisers. Robin denied any strong-arm tactics and spun it that she ASKED them to be there. Then, Howard went on a rant how Robin was being a real noodge, going around telling her coworkers that she expected them to pony up donations. Howard said she shouldn't be "demanding" anything - if people wanted to give, they would. He went further to say that she was also basically telling coworkers to go on recruitment drives and get donations from friends/family.

Howard told her she was as bad as parents who bring their kids school candy/raffle tickets in to work and badgers everyone. He told her he would give her one check and she'd better leave him alone. You know Robin got highly upset and denied all charges.

I like Robin as a person most days, but her narcissism is annoying. Also, her dumb cackle is just a reflex now - she does it on autopilot and it gets grating. My schadenfreude kicked in when I heard that Robin may be sick....

R47, I'm not so sure about that. She's very liberal (as is Howard these days) and is quick to criticize Repubs. Howard mentioned this week that Sal & Ronnie voted for Trump and it sounded like they were the only ones. The show's become too political, I liked it best when they goofed on celebs who deserved it, like Oprah's "we speak your name".

From what I heard, Robin's motives were sincere in regards to the charities, and she wanted the money to go to the underprivileged. However, it sounds like things were mishandled by the people who were supposed to disperse the funds/make sure everything was legal.

There was no live show today, even after Howard advised yesterday that Jimmy Fallon would be today's guest. Howard is famous for showing up - he was in after 9/11, Hurricane Sandy, etc., so when a replay came on this morning, the rumors started to fly. First people thought one of Howard's parents took sick/died - no news on that front. Then it was rumored that Howard is suing Sirius again for a stock bonus that was part of his contract, but not given, and today was a surprise walkout. He sued on this before and lost, so it seems stupid to litigate this again. Interesting that not one of the show staff has any kind of info about no show today on their Twitters - probably due to them having NDA's.

Then there are a few people who thought that Robin's health has taken a turn, so no show. Howard has said numerous times that he would not do the show if Robin was not involved. So...

No, she didn't get into politics. She talked about the new show. Talked some about making the original show and challenges she faced there. Also talked some about growing up, her parents, and her early career.

John Goodman was also in the studio and joined her on air for a little bit.

She seemed sincere and hopes people will watch the new show... they have put a lot of work into it and want it to be entertaining and a good product.

I watched a clip of a recent show - the Sirius app has added select videos for viewing. The show had something called "The Wack Pack Conclave" where a bunch of the old school wack packers decided whether or not this new human oddity (Marfan Mike) was worthy to join their ranks. They showed Robin a few times and was shocked. She's still heavy but it was the blond wig on her head that threw me - downright tacky and cheap looking, in an unflattering 50's style. It must be new cause I can't find any pictures of her with it on. Ralph should have told her "no, hunty".
