Break off the gums? WTF are you talking about? Gums can easily be cut to expose more of the tooth, it's a not big deal. Lots of people who have 'too much gum', which makes their teeth look small, have their gums cut.

Gums are even cut when people get caps or veneers, usually in cases where the excess gum is too loose and it allows debris to get between the tooth stump and the cap/veneer.

I have a better suggestion: Cut their heads off and start over.
