The more I re-see 80s "fashion" the more I appreciate the 70s.

Dyan Cannon at 2:55.
Shoulderpads to an extreme.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 17, 2017 2:02 AM |
It's hard to fathom Morgan Brittany looking any more unfortunate.
Around 3:50.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 17, 2017 2:05 AM |
r1 is crazy.
Susan Lucci's look at the four-minute mark is timeless.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 17, 2017 2:06 AM |
Raquel Welch at 9:08.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 17, 2017 2:09 AM |
Ha, I was there for that show as a teenager, some friend of a friend got a bunch of us in. The taping of that show went on for hours. It was a crazy pageant of celebrities that basically just walked out and took a bow. I do remember the Pointer Sisters performed their song JUMP twice due to some taping glitch ...ah, the 80's
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 17, 2017 2:18 AM |
Raquel is stunning! Damn!
The rest of the fashions scream 1980s. Glad that's over!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 17, 2017 2:28 AM |
Morgan Fairchild is one of the most strikingly beautiful women that I've ever beheld. Patsy could more than hold her own against ANY other beauty of her era.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 17, 2017 1:06 PM |
Was there some charity involved in this event?
Wasn't there some show where all the stars participated in circus acts?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 17, 2017 1:20 PM |
Circus of the Stars. It was a golden age of television in many ways as this clip shows.
I cannot imagine stars doing this or battle of the network stars now. I know they tried to redo the latter a few years ago, but only got reality stars to do it.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 17, 2017 1:27 PM |
A 1982 Night of 100 Stars has a crazy salute to Broadway with stars traipsing across the stage as they mouth bits of showtunes.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 17, 2017 1:27 PM |
Bernadette Peters introduces silent screen stars.
So in 1985, they were looking 60 years back at the beginning of Hollywood.
That would be like looking at stars of the 1950s in 2017.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 17, 2017 1:43 PM |
How is it possible Claudia Cardinale got roped into this?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 17, 2017 1:52 PM |
I can't believe Gina Lollobrigida appeared in this
Fashions are better than 1985s but not by that much
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 17, 2017 2:10 PM |
DL fave Dierdre Hall can be seen hamming it up about 5:45.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 17, 2017 2:17 PM |
This is amazing. God, the 80s were like a hundred years ago, culturally. I wonder if any of the eldergays who worked on this special are still around. Would love to hear all the backstage gossip from having all those women of a certain age in one spot.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 18, 2017 1:24 AM |
Some of the outfits are hideous, but some would work today.
Was Diahann Carrol the only black actress available in 1985?
And why was OSCAR WINNER Ellen Burstyn there??
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 18, 2017 4:49 AM |
This is the one I remember..maybe 1988?
Many DL faves...LIZ SMITH! KITTY CARLISLE! CHITA RIVERA! STEFANIE POWERS!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 18, 2017 5:07 AM |
Ellen Burstyn's get up is atrocious
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 18, 2017 5:09 AM |
^^ hehe, "get up"...my meemaw used to say that. "Did you see that get-up Doris Lawson wore to church today!!??"
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 18, 2017 1:38 PM |
Lagerfeld's muse, Cathy Lee Crosby.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 18, 2017 6:14 PM |
You forgot Miss Joan Van Ark!
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 18, 2017 7:30 PM |

[quote]"Did you see that get-up Doris Lawson wore to church today!!??"
Was she Helen's non-evil twin?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 18, 2017 9:32 PM |
Thanks OP I really really enjoyed that. So nice to see all those ladies looking so pretty and feminine and still like theirselves. A lot of the are old ladies now.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 18, 2017 10:01 PM |
Brooke Shields' Perry Ellis tunic is chic.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 18, 2017 10:04 PM |
Jane Seymour's Carolina Herrera has a lovely sillouette because of the shoulder pads.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 18, 2017 10:10 PM |
Colleen Dewhurst looked lovely and really seemed to be enjoying herself but how in the world did she get invited?
And I mean that as a compliment to Ms. Dewhurst.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 18, 2017 10:28 PM |
Donna Mills eye makeup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 18, 2017 10:29 PM |
Pia Zadora, that target of 80s jokes, really brought the roof down with her rendition of "The Man Who Got Away" that night. I do hope some of the people who liked to make fun of her apologized after hearing her sing, she was very good.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 18, 2017 10:32 PM |
When you see DL fave Ann Margret come out in that old wedding gown, look at Priscilla Presley's face
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 18, 2017 10:34 PM |
I noticed Teri Garr in there. For the love of God will Someone please tell me the Herbert Ross Troll's Garr gossip that he teased endlessly? I swear I searched all those threads and never found it. Please ??

This will always be the greatest thing "Night of 100 Stars" ever did -- even if they did fail to get Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire to sign on:
by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 18, 2017 10:40 PM |
This makes me long for RHOBH -- 1985 version
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 18, 2017 10:42 PM |
That was amazing, OP! I think Brooke Shields and Jaclyn Smith are the only two designs that don't feel dated.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 18, 2017 10:54 PM |
The hairspray used that night singkehandedly destroyed 10% of the ozone later
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 18, 2017 11:07 PM |
Holy FUCK. Did anyone see the 80s version of Bruce Jenner at 4:47 called Mary McFadden.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 18, 2017 11:24 PM |
Miss Ann Miller @ R14/1:40 was workin' it in Michaele Vollbracht (there's a name you don't hear anymore!).
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 18, 2017 11:26 PM |
So many designer names I had completely forgotten...I'm looking at you Mary McFadden
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 18, 2017 11:31 PM |
That 1988 version looks like everyone got a shot of horse adrenaline before they went out.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 18, 2017 11:36 PM |
Is Tony Geary in this one? I remember him in one of them.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 18, 2017 11:44 PM |
R40: IIRC, Mary McFadden married a (much younger) employee who divorced her, sued, and tried to take ownership of her company.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 18, 2017 11:56 PM |
Joan Van Ark and Donna Mills both are/were tiny tiny tiny women.
The hair is much much more unfortunate than the clothes.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 19, 2017 5:22 AM |
