Cunt Susan Sarandon reads Chris Hayes to filth

She's on All In With Chris Hayes tonight to talk about the election and how Bernie should have won because people were passionate about him and not about Hillary. Chris tells her people fucked themselves to spite their nose and ended up with Trump.

Susan yells at Chris, "Can you look me in the eye and tell me you were doing your job covering everything?!"

Chris yells back, "Yes, I can look you directly in the eye!"

Afterwards, Rachel Madcow said she was sweating just watching that interview. Chris said he really was 😅

Look, Susan is not wrong. I certainly don't agree with her on most things, but there were plenty of missed opportunities when we look at reporting during the campaign.

by Anonymousreply 1February 16, 2017 1:09 AM

She's being trashed on Twitter.

by Anonymousreply 2February 16, 2017 1:09 AM

I love how susan sarandon is almost always referred to as Cunt susan Sarandon on here nowadays. It fits. She should forever be known as cunt susan.

by Anonymousreply 3February 16, 2017 1:13 AM

Shouldn't the title read something like, "Chris Hayes Claps Back at Susan SarandonE?"

by Anonymousreply 4February 16, 2017 1:14 AM

We don't need four threads about this, though.

by Anonymousreply 5February 16, 2017 1:14 AM

I hope this cunt loses the best actress emmy to jessica lange.

by Anonymousreply 6February 16, 2017 1:16 AM

There was no shouting. The entire interview is on MSNBC if you want to see it for yourself. She was wrong that there was no difference between Trump and Hillary but she was right to support Bernie and right it seems about a Trump election bringing on the revolution. Right too that Hillary was the status quo. It was just more years of Bill Clinton and Obama, both who made the rich richer and the poor poorer and what B. Clinton did was destroy decent jobs in America and put in place everything that let WS and banks bring this country to its knees. Giving us 4-8 years more of that didn't make Hillary appealing. Out of fear I voted for her but definitely holding my nose.

If Hillary and the DNC hadn't cheated Bernie during the Primary he would have beaten Trump. He really and from his heart offered everyone what Trump lied and pretended he would give them. Yes, the bigots still would have voted for Trump but not the ones who voted for economic reasons, like in the swing states. No matter what the GOP said about Bernie those Trump voters would have voted for Bernie. If you read articles about them 90% of them said they would have voted for Bernie if he had been the nominee. They didn't care about him being a Jew (the way most Bernie haters here do) or about him being a Democratic Socialist. They cared about what he had to say about the economy. He would have actually helped these people. He didn't promise fake jobs but he would have found a way.

If not for the DNC and Hillary instead of a Trump we would not have President Sanders. Believe it or not. Off this board most people on both sides do. We'd be looking at single payer coming or Medicare for All instead of the destruction of our healthcare. We would be looking at help for those who need it the most instead of the richest. We would finally see the rich pay their fair share and then some. We'd be looking at our planet being saved, our education improved and a country that would be so good for everyone.

I think Susan was wrong about hinting she would vote for Trump but I get why. She was not wrong about putting up a fierce fight for Bernie. I will happily watch anything she is in.

by Anonymousreply 7February 16, 2017 1:53 AM

....but wasn't Lang at Trump's inaugural?

by Anonymousreply 8February 16, 2017 1:59 AM

Get a load of the Sarandon supporter at R7.

by Anonymousreply 9February 16, 2017 3:12 AM

Yeah, I guess r7 conveniently forgot how Bernie's team stole Clinton info from the DNC very, very early in the primary. Bernie's interview with the NY Daily News did way morekdamage to Bernie's campaign than either Hillary or the DNC could. He also won mainly caucuses in the primaries. If it weren't for caucuses, Bernie would have been a much shorter footnote in the 2016 campaign history text.

by Anonymousreply 10February 16, 2017 3:19 AM

The answer to Hillary's question on why she wasn't 50 points ahead is that she wasn't Bernie.

by Anonymousreply 11February 16, 2017 3:30 AM

So then., R11, is the answer to why Bernie was so far behind in the primary is because he wasn't Hillary or that he was Bernie? He lost the primary to Hillary by A LOT-- it wasn't even close.

by Anonymousreply 12February 16, 2017 4:29 AM

I can't believe we have to rehash this and all because Chris Hayes decided to bring this moron back into relevance.

Fuck her and fuck her revolution. She's a privileged white bitch who doesn't care about anyone but herself. Real people are suffering with Trump. Some poor woman was rounded up in one of those raids and within 24 hours was deported out of the country leaving her kids here.

In the meantime, because of her and the Pure Bernie Bros we're about to have a conservative Supreme court for the next 40 years.

So yeah, FUCK her & I'll pass on watching her on any show including that Ryan Murphy feud.

by Anonymousreply 13February 16, 2017 4:36 AM

[quote]the DNC hadn't cheated Bernie during the Primary

You need to stop with that victim nonsense. Sanders was not cheated out of the Primary. Sanders is not a Democrat and it was expected that the Democrats and the Democratic party would not fully embrace him. And why would they? He only joined the party to use its funding structure and to get more visibility that he would have as an independent.

No rule was changed for the 2016 primaries. Not a single one.

One question about the Flint water disaster does not a stolen Primary make. (And that's not only because Clinton spent a lot of time in Flint before any of the debates happened.)

Democrats did not want Sanders which is why they overwhelmingly voted for Clinton.

by Anonymousreply 14February 16, 2017 4:39 AM

Even with Bernie nominally being an independent, there was no one running against him who would have better than him in the general.

by Anonymousreply 15February 16, 2017 4:56 AM

The idea that Bernie wouldn't have been thoroughly trashed and dragged by Putin/Trump with every single part of his life examined to the point where he'd be as vulnerable as Hillary is laughable.

by Anonymousreply 16February 16, 2017 5:59 AM

She was only on because she had a show to plug. I hope it's a failure. And I hate when women act like idiots. She's the left wing version of Sarah Palin.

by Anonymousreply 17February 16, 2017 6:17 AM

Anyone who thinks Bernie could have won should read this...and he's absolutely right.

by Anonymousreply 18February 16, 2017 6:25 AM

No she wasn't r8.

by Anonymousreply 19February 16, 2017 6:30 AM

Too bad Sanders failed to win the Primaries, R18. Maybe if we had just skipped the Primaries for Sanders's sake and went straight to the General he would have won the Election.

It was up to Sanders to get over that hurdle of winning the Primaries. He failed, and therefore he was not a (realistic) option in the General. You don't pin this on Clinton or the DNC. Although you can pin it on that NY Daily News interview. That was the end for Sanders if you ask me.

by Anonymousreply 20February 16, 2017 6:42 AM

I embody all of R14's points. I would only have voted Bernie if he was the only choice left. I had no respect for him. He was an Independent, never a Democrat. He was a user, a moocher, switching to Democrat to obtain the funds and use the infrastructure they had raised/built. I don't blame them (party staffers) for being pissed, and I never cared about the allegations that they tried to torpedo him. Why shouldn't they? He encroached under false pretenses and tried to raid their coffers.

As far as his platform went, his ideas were nice, but had no bearing in reality. He had no real, legitimate (viable) plans to fund anything. Grand plans with no idea how to fund them other than "raise taxes" is always the Democrat albatross. Many of my millennial friends were for Bernie. I never was, never would be. They're still crying about it, but he would have lost "bigly" if he'd been the Democrat's candidate. At least Hillary won the popular vote. Was she perfect? No. No one ever is. It's an election. You never get a candidate who checks all your boxes. It's ridiculous to think you would. You elect from the choices before you. Pitching tantrums like the Bernie Bros is juvenile, selfish, and pernicious.

by Anonymousreply 21February 16, 2017 6:51 AM

Susan Sarandon is now one of the top trends on twitter. Was this the kind of publicity Ryan Murphy was hoping for for Feud?

by Anonymousreply 22February 16, 2017 6:56 AM

Is it trending because people like her? One tweet said "So glad to see Susan Sarandon CLAP BACK👏 at Chris Hayes! So proud!!!"

by Anonymousreply 23February 16, 2017 7:57 AM

Majority appears to be negative R23

by Anonymousreply 24February 16, 2017 7:58 AM

She should have gone on in Bette persona and shouted over him. Oh shit...she did that.

by Anonymousreply 25February 16, 2017 10:20 AM

They should run Sanders/Clinton in 2020 with Hillary running as VP. Period. We would win bigly.

by Anonymousreply 26February 16, 2017 11:30 AM

[quote]They should run Sanders/Clinton in 2020 with Hillary running as VP.

Are you INSANE? DO YOU KNOW HOW OLD HE WILL BE IN 2020?

Do you know how old SHE will be in 2020?

I can't believe my eyes.

by Anonymousreply 27February 16, 2017 12:21 PM

Susan Sarandon's reasoning for her beliefs is a Greek myth that will be studied along side Hercules for generations to come

by Anonymousreply 28February 16, 2017 12:30 PM

Susan Sarandon is an ideologue. There is nothing more dangerous on the face of the earth than an ideologue. Hitler, Stalin, Mao were all rabid ideologues. Not good company to be in, cuntface.

by Anonymousreply 29February 16, 2017 12:37 PM

You know, if you say something with a wide-eyed look on your face people will know you are speaking the truth. Right? She deserves an Oscar for this performance. Leading lady in a role of denial of responsibility.

by Anonymousreply 30February 16, 2017 12:41 PM

Could someone please tell me in what alternate universe does someone have to live to think that an avowed leftist/socialist like Bernie Sanders would win a presidential election, an election in a country that has been veering to the right for the last 40+ years.

Perhaps R7 or someone of his ilk could shine some light on this for the rest of us.

by Anonymousreply 31February 16, 2017 12:56 PM

R31 it's called delusion.

And it's also funny how his "supporters," conveniently forget that his wife committed bank fraud, he also wouldn't release his tax returns and the taxes he did pay was less than 14% (all while shouting about others not paying their fair share), he committed Campaign Finance fraud, accepted illegal campaign donations, diverted campaign money to his family, used campaign funds to take a family vacation to stalk the Pope, and sent toxic waste off to another state for the poor to deal with while simultaneously getting his wife a cushy job to be on the board of all that, and she continues to earn a paycheck from that.

by Anonymousreply 32February 16, 2017 1:00 PM

I think it's fine that Susan was a Bernie supporter but my problem with her is that she should have wholeheartedly supported Hillary once it was down to 2 candidates. Susan, and all the other Bernie/3rd party/noshow voters did us a disfavor.

Between Hillary and Trump the choice was clear. It's a question of sane vs. insane. The fact that she kept saying that Trump is better than Hillary, etc. was wrong on all counts. She would have a better chance of fighting for her causes under a Clinton administration. I'm pretty sure Bernie would have been included in the cabinet.

by Anonymousreply 33February 16, 2017 1:06 PM

No, r2, she nor anyone else but his wife was not right to support Bernie.

A simple glance at our last hundred years of "Outlier" candidates (you will recall that Sen. Sanders was not a bona fide Democrat, his stances notwithstanding) would have shown Miss Susan the predictable result.

The question now is: Is SHE a true Democrat?

by Anonymousreply 34February 16, 2017 1:11 PM

BTW, that "Related Datalounge Thread" is from March 2016, a. It discusses Sarandon's support of......

Ralph Nader.

by Anonymousreply 35February 16, 2017 1:12 PM

Exactly, r16. And you know what the irony would have been?

Team Trump would have portrayed Bernie as a lover of all things Russian! And the Trump supporters would have called Bernie a Commie!

by Anonymousreply 36February 16, 2017 1:20 PM

I wish I was in NYC so I could go to her little bar and piss on one of her ping pong tables. Stupid old cunt.

by Anonymousreply 37February 16, 2017 1:42 PM

R37 thanks for that post. I'm going to do that tonight!

by Anonymousreply 38February 16, 2017 1:44 PM

You're being far, far, far too kind to them r33

by Anonymousreply 39February 16, 2017 2:21 PM

Susan Sarandon is a bigger cunt than Bette Davis.

by Anonymousreply 40February 16, 2017 2:35 PM

Susan Sarandon is a lying delusional moron.

She is so fucking arrogant and entitled in her privilege, she doesn't give a damn who gets hurt in her quest to "shake things up", or her quest for ideological purity.

She is just so fucking WRONG.

by Anonymousreply 41February 16, 2017 2:36 PM

[quote]but she was right to support Bernie

No she fucking wasn't. At least not after the primaries were over, where Bernie LEGITIMATELY lost, and by a LARGE margin.

by Anonymousreply 42February 16, 2017 2:39 PM

[quote]and right it seems about a Trump election bringing on the revolution

And now, she fucking wasn't right about that either. Goddamn, what fucking planet are you living on?

by Anonymousreply 43February 16, 2017 2:39 PM

[quote]Right too that Hillary was the status quo.

Wrong again, R7. Jesus. Pull your head out of your ass.

(and even if she was, how is four or eight more years of prosperity, improving standards of living, greener energy, more equal rights, belief in science, protection of the environment, etc, etc, a BAD thing?? Especially compared to the alternative?!?)

by Anonymousreply 44February 16, 2017 2:41 PM

Cunt "To Filth" Queen still needs to be read for filth for her awkward phrasing.

by Anonymousreply 45February 16, 2017 2:41 PM

When they line Trump and his cronies up against the wall after this is all over, I hope to fuck they put Susan Sarandon and Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein right up there with them.

by Anonymousreply 46February 16, 2017 2:41 PM

Who cares about this talentless bitch?

by Anonymousreply 47February 16, 2017 2:43 PM

Susan Sarandon for President!

Trump and Clinton are the cunts.

by Anonymousreply 48February 16, 2017 2:46 PM

R48 gets it exactly wrong and backwards... much like right-wing trump supporters do.

It's interesting how much the right-wing trumpers and the left-wing Bernie-stans have in common.

Susan Sarandon is the cunt. Privileged, arrogant, insulated, callous... and dismissive of the minorities she PRETENDS to care about.

by Anonymousreply 49February 16, 2017 2:52 PM

"(Sarandon is)....right it seems about a Trump election bringing on the revolution."

Yeah a revolution that actually will go nowhere due to the institutional dysfunction of the Democratic party that doesn't know how to function under the current set of circumstances.

All of the levers of power are in the hands of categorically evil people. They have the leverage and hunger to institute a society of oppression and fascism. Even with this fucking maniac in office, who is literally shitting on everything and everyone - the Republican party is currently circling their wagons around him. They are FIGHTING for him and will do so until there's nothing left but fire.

Our side? Milquetoast at best. Our bench is top heavy with aging, charisma-free bureaucrats who are clinging to the rotting vestiges of centrism. Sure, an Elizabeth Warren can yell and shake her little fist. But then she bends over backwards to justify voting for a few of Trump's cabinet members (Haley, Mattis, Shulkin).

We have no one young and dynamic. No one with the will and fortitude to uphold a true progressive vision of government that puts its citizens first.

To "kick the tires" today - I'd say we are completely fucked. Regardless of how many people show up for protests (lord knows I've shown up for many). WE NEED NEW PEOPLE.

Absent that, this country is toast.

Oh back to the subject at hand: Susan Sarandon is a fucking cunt.

by Anonymousreply 50February 16, 2017 2:57 PM

Sanders was never a Democrat and if you can't understand that then you are the problem.

by Anonymousreply 51February 16, 2017 2:58 PM

[quote]He would have actually helped these people. He didn't promise fake jobs but he would have found a way.

This one statement in R7's post stands out to me. It's very Trumpista in its idealism, kind of like how Orange Cheeto's supporters assumed that he'd start acting more Presidential once elected, and are now dismayed that he has not.

by Anonymousreply 52February 16, 2017 3:04 PM

I was there, too. We talked about fracking, a cuase dear to Ms. Sarandon.

by Anonymousreply 53February 16, 2017 3:24 PM

I just watched the interview, and for as much as I agree with DL, especially politically for the most part, I did not think Susan Sarandon came off poorly or the mega cunt you are all saying. Sure, it was annoying during election that she refused to back Hillary, and couldn't stop being 'ridiculous' with the Bernie-or-Bust people, but, already in hindsight, her position is fine. All she is saying is that people need to be made aware of the issue she that will shake them and move them the most, which she believes to be real issues like DA pipeline, fracking, etc -- not the Ego war we saw staged during the ending months of the election.

Yeah she kinda comes off like an uppity cunt at times, and a bit condescending to Hayes, who is one of the more intelligent journalists on TV today. But, for instance, it was perfectly reasonable for her not to want to hypothesize how bad she had expected a DJT presidency, and Hayes tried to rail her for it. She ultimately wants a lot of the same things as most Dems and progressives, and her main focus about it is a different area is all.

And you are all liars. You're totally going to watch Fued.

by Anonymousreply 54February 16, 2017 4:00 PM

"But, for instance, it was perfectly reasonable for her not to want to hypothesize how bad she had expected a DJT presidency, and Hayes tried to rail her for it"

Yeah, it was reasonable. Because she would've looked like an idiot. And I doubt she had the imagination to understand just how bad it would be.

Let's face it - it really IS shaping up to be worse than anyone could've expected.

Every day brings fresh hell. Now, Trump is looking to pull the trigger on a whole sale purge of all Intelligence agencies. Think about that for a second. "Hypothesize."

Sarandon is fucking idiot. Her ideological rigidity is emblematic of why we're in this mess to begin with. Hillary would've been a million times better as president. How anyone can think otherwise at this point is beyond idiocy.

by Anonymousreply 55February 16, 2017 4:26 PM

The left didn't lose, the right was more dishonest.

by Anonymousreply 56February 16, 2017 4:36 PM

She's the tv voice for Tylenol ads. Which makes sense since she gave me a migraine. By the way, Johnson & Johnson makes Tylenol. They're political contributers, with the majority of their giving going to Republicans.

Of course Sarandon will say she donates alll those millions to the battle.

by Anonymousreply 57February 16, 2017 4:37 PM

Bernie did not win a single primary in the south and lost the eastern industrial states as well. The black vote showed no enthusiasm for him. Bernie was popular with college students and latte liberals. He would not have won the general election. He never got attacked or scrutinized much, even by Hillary. The GOP championed him to weaken HRC.

by Anonymousreply 58February 16, 2017 4:42 PM

[Quote] The GOP championed him to weaken HRC.

And morons fell for it. Just like Trump voters.

by Anonymousreply 59February 16, 2017 4:49 PM

[quote]The GOP championed him to weaken HRC.

What's worse, Sanders took advantage of it, and... gave the GOP attacking points for Clinton.

by Anonymousreply 60February 16, 2017 4:53 PM

"She's the tv voice for Tylenol ads. Which makes sense since she gave me a migraine. By the way, Johnson & Johnson makes Tylenol. They're political contributers, with the majority of their giving going to Republicans.

Gospel. A thousand times over.

She is the cuntiest cunt in cuntlandia.

by Anonymousreply 61February 16, 2017 4:58 PM

One of the reasons Republicans got to where they are today, i.e. they control the Federal governments and most state governments, and stick together, marching in lockstep unison. Any dissent is immediately squelched, or the dissenter is ostracized.

Democrats don't do this, unfortunately, and that's how miserable cunts like Sarandon live to see another day. if she was a Republican and pulled this bullshit, J&J would have dumped her skank ass a couple of months ago.

by Anonymousreply 62February 16, 2017 5:46 PM

Yes, R62 is right. Unfortunately free-thought, open discussion, and more genuine altruism all work against Democrats. It's so depressing.

by Anonymousreply 63February 16, 2017 6:27 PM

She and her lil' buddy Josh Fox (a diehard BernieBro) complained about how much HRC was in bed with the Frackers.

As if that was justification for wasting their votes.

No it fucking wasn't. Not by any definition of 'reasonable'.

[quote]She ultimately wants a lot of the same things as most Dems and progressives, and her main focus about it is a different area is all.

See, you clearly miss the problem (just like she does): her words and actions lead to the EXACT OPPOSITE OUTCOME that she CLAIMS to have in common with Dems and progressives. She ACTIVELY sabotaged every possible win we could have made, and set back the progressive cause a generation.

WHY THE FUCK CAN'T YOU AND SHE UNDERSTAND THIS?

by Anonymousreply 71February 16, 2017 10:47 PM

R71, did you just say Susan Sarandon single handedly set the progressive cause back a generation?...::with a straight face??

The thing is, I understand where you are coming from, but you seem to see everything very black and white; and I'm saying we are talking about different sides of the same coin?

by Anonymousreply 72February 17, 2017 5:30 AM

R72, stop being a damn literalist. You know what was meant. She AND PEOPLE LIKE HER, by trashing Hillary, claiming loudly that Trump was a "better option", encouraged and egged on those idiots who ended up voting 3rd party instead of Hillary (or hell, even voting for Trump instead of Hillary), by numbers that were large enough to cost Hillary the election.

Susan Sarandon was AT BEST hypocritical and counter productive and just plain full of shit. She knew damn well that regardless, SHE would be okay. She didn't give a DAMN about the millions that would be impacted negatively... including those that would literally DIE from a Trump Presidency. Families are being torn apart because what Susan Sarandon advocated actually happened. That makes her pure fucking EVIL.

Are you claiming you don't get this with a straight face? Are you still trying to be a fucking apologist for her and her ilk on the left? Seriously?

by Anonymousreply 73February 17, 2017 5:35 AM

If idiots like Susan Sarandon had closed ranks behind Hillary and fought for DEMS all up and down the ticket, the minimum wage would ALREADY be raised by now. We'd have a new liberal supreme court justice, and ObamaCare would be getting even better.

But noooooo... some extremist left-wing purists thought that setting all that progress back a generation, handing the supreme court over to Nazi extremists, and trashing ObamaCare and the environment and financial regulations, was a matter of "principle".

FUCK THESE CLUELESS MYOPIC SELFISH PURIST MORONS.

by Anonymousreply 74February 17, 2017 5:39 AM

I don't see how her political views help her with anyone but a few privileged people in Hollywood. Now Republicans think she's a liberal and won't have anything to do with her, Democrats think her wanting to burn it all down was irresponsible. Maybe some third party BernieBros think Trump winning was great.

It's a little too Marie Antoinette to sit in some mansion and proclaim "let them eat cake" as the country goes down the tubes. Easy for a wealthy sheltered woman to say.

You're really stoned r76.

I've never met a "JillNotHill", "BernieOrBust", or "DemExit" person that didn't come across as deeply misinformed, willfully ignorant, and totally unhinged and divorced from reality. They have absolutely no clue how things work in our government, and why... or why what they advocate is a sure and pure recipe for losing.

by Anonymousreply 81February 17, 2017 1:52 PM

R76: typical Bernbot: stoned at 10:00AM, (maybe earlier if R76 is on the West Coast); Ancient Lithuanian literature major; wanted Sanders to win so his $200K in student debt would be "erased."

by Anonymousreply 82February 17, 2017 1:53 PM

People who believe in Bernie are the same people who believe in homeopathic medicine, the healing power of crystals, and unicorns that fart rainbows.

by Anonymousreply 83February 17, 2017 2:22 PM

Whether you like it or not, she is right about Trump's presidency accelerating the revolution. More people than ever are involved and informed. It sucks we are suffering through it, yes, and it sucks that President Trump IS a reality, but I gather she is saying, that if Hills was president....yes it would be better than Trump, but it would be status quo continued from the Obama/Clinton years, and a lot of things people like her want to see changed and brought to the forefront would never happen.

I admire her cuntiness.

by Anonymousreply 84February 17, 2017 5:57 PM

According to R40, Sarandon should be canonized as the patron saint of bloodshed. And in other words, you're calling her a war monger?

And just where do you think Ms. Sarandon will be when and if said revolution occurs. I'm guessing she will be no where to be found, hiding out at some remote location in the Swiss Alps and not returning to the US until the all clear signal is given.

by Anonymousreply 85February 17, 2017 6:40 PM

The people who talk about "the revolution" really have no clue what they are talking about, do they?

They seem to think that it will take one or two days and that the outcome is a foregone conclusion.

by Anonymousreply 86February 17, 2017 6:44 PM

[quote]Whether you like it or not, she is right about Trump's presidency accelerating the revolution

No, she fucking is not. Trump's presidency is destroying the country, and it's setting back EVERY SINGLE thing that "the revolution" pretends to support by a GENERATION. It's the EXACT FUCKING OPPOSITE you goddamned moron. People will DIE because of this. A Hillary presidency would have advanced EVERY SINGLE ISSUE the BernieBots pretend to care about.

Goddamned you clueless morons really need to grow the fuck up and wake the fuck up.

by Anonymousreply 87February 18, 2017 12:15 AM

R84, you and Susan can go die and rot in hell.

by Anonymousreply 88February 18, 2017 12:17 AM

With Sanders we would have a racist radical muslim as DNC chair and a spokespersons who thinks white people shouldn't occupy top positions in the democratic party.

I am a progressive lefty, have been all my life, but Sanders is as terrible as alt right idiots. He assembles nothing but scum around him.

And of course he would have been a failure as POTUS he was all talk but no experience, he would never get anything done.

by Anonymousreply 89February 18, 2017 12:37 AM

The problem isn't that she supported Bernie, it's that she voted for Jill Stein. Never mind that many of Stein's stances were as far removed from Sanders as possible, but Sarandon supported someone whose own VP candidate bashed Bernie Sanders and likened any support for Sanders to supporting white supremacy. Yet this moron was on Twitter the weekend after Trumps win saying how she was the only one in Hollywood who was right because of her support for Stein. Didn't vote with her vagina? Bitch, please. That's the only credible defense you have for that move.

At this point, I have more respect for someone like Scott Baio. He may be a fucking asshole, but you know where he stands and what his viewpoints are. Sarandon blasted Hillary's corporate connections, all the while cashing her checks from Big Pharma with her commercial voiceovers. She threw a shitfit with Hillary's Wall Street speeches and ties to corruption, but wants people to stop talking about the connection between Russia and Trump.

Her words at Clinton defeat speak volumes. I don't believe for a second that she thought Clinton was better than Trump. I think she's secretly happy that Trump got elected, because in her small mind she thinks that this will somehow cause some big progressive revolution. But any sensible person knows you don't burn the house down completely down and waste needless amounts of money and effort making something better. You add on and remodel what is already there that works and is in good condition.

Great actress, yes. Great intellectual mind, not even close.

by Anonymousreply 90February 18, 2017 12:45 AM

R89 nails it.

Bernie was transparently awful. I can't have any respect for anyone so blinded by idealism that they couldn't see what a fraud he was.

by Anonymousreply 91February 18, 2017 12:59 AM

I wonder if she knows the governor of Wisconsin.....they're both goggle eyed humonculuses...or is it humonculi?

by Anonymousreply 92February 18, 2017 1:04 AM

The election is well over and America lost. No point in going on about what was. Everyone had blame in what happened.

Are any of you here on DL Liberal and interested in running for office? Are you still reasonably young? Do you have charisma? Do people like to listen when you speak? If you're in a group can you capture the room with wit and intelligence, not by creating a scene? Do you honestly want to help those in trouble in this country, mainly the poor, especially poor children and elderly? Do you ever dream of being the voice of good in this country, another FDR...another LBJ, a MLK a Robert Kennedy? If so, try to run for office. Start small, city council or the Assembly.

Or maybe you know someone who is like that. Encourage them to run.

Democrats are never going to win again with what we've got left, old rich and tied to Wall Street and the 1%. Idiot Trump voters can be fooled he's on their side. Democrats know what someone is full of shit about being on their side. That was a big part of Hillary's problem. Like Obama before her the poor and working poor were invisible to her. If you or someone you think would be good as a candidate really doesn't care to help these people genuinely don't bother, again most Dems are not that dumb, if they were they would have fallen for Trumps lies too.

by Anonymousreply 93February 18, 2017 1:49 AM

[quote]Like Obama before her the poor and working poor were invisible to her.

That's BS, she has been a public servant forever and taught for things that benefited the little people. You may criticize the Clinton foundation, but they do good work.

by Anonymousreply 94February 18, 2017 5:45 AM

R93, the number that fell for Bernie and Jill Stein and Trump (!) proves that at a lot of Dems ARE dumb. ESPECIALLY the ones that sat out the election and didn't vote at all, when there was a racist, sexist, con-man Nazi at the gate in the form of Trump.

by Anonymousreply 95February 18, 2017 6:30 AM

Bernie lost because A) he wasn't a Democrat, and B) he got DESTROYED in the south. He barely even campaigned in the southern states.

by Anonymousreply 96February 18, 2017 6:47 AM

Susan Sarandon is emblematic of what's wrong with the Democrats. We can never all get on the same page. She bought back a lot of bad memories of how we came to the rise of Cheetos. It's not because of who voted necessarily but who people like her discouraged from voting. She wasn't the only one. There was a guy I remember who wrote an entire column telling people not to vote because they shouldn't choose between lesser evil and evil.

by Anonymousreply 97February 18, 2017 7:13 AM

[quote]Susan Sarandon is emblematic of what's wrong with the Democrats.

She's not a fucking Democrat. So no, she isn't. At all.

She's emblematic of what's wrong with the looney left. She is the left-wing's equivalent of the "Tea Party"... a "Lefty Party" as it were.

by Anonymousreply 98February 18, 2017 7:33 AM

If Sarandon is the left's mouthpiece, that brings joy to every Koch Bro loving deplorable.

by Anonymousreply 99February 18, 2017 7:51 AM

I had to look at that horrendous "interview" again. She REALLY puts Faye Dunaway to shame.

Cunty McCunterson to the nth degree.

The contempt she showed for Hayes was palpable. She came off like a female Trump. Unhinged, rigid, wholesale ignorant and obviously mentally ill. That Josh Fox is a flat out fucking idiot.

by Anonymousreply 100February 18, 2017 7:55 AM

Her Ex Tim Robbins supported Hillary in the federal election and gave a speech at the convention (for Bernie). She probably fights with him in her head and the media absorbs the overflow.

Chris Hayes or Rachel Maddow? They look exactly the same.
