It's just come to my attention that some people on this thread took offence at r28, r37, and r45.
Regarding r28, when I said Glenn was bad for the cult, I just meant that Glenn was a "bad fit" for the cult, not that Glenn was bad in general.
Regarding r37, what the what?! What is so offensive about that video? I'm surprised people here were offended by it (I was informed). But why? It's about a Glenn encounter, and that's neat! If you were offended that I say she was being a bit "mean" with her comment and by driving off so quickly, sorry. That's just how I saw it.
And for those of you that took offence at r45, it was just a gag post. So many here seem to like dirt, gossip, and Patti Lupone, that I thought I'd share that video in good humor.
Also, this thread has been labeled by some on DL as being ridiculing of Glenn's daughter, so I'd like to clear the air on that right now:
As a fan, it's very painful to think that anyone related to a favorite star (much less the favorite star their-self) would look down on fellow fans. It's painful to see the daughter of a favorite star lash out at fans, like Glenn's daughter did when she told one to "Stop being creepy and get a fucking life!" all because that fan had opened up an Instagram account for Glenn, and made the mistake of calling it "Official". Because of this, the daughter got angry and presumed a mischievous intent on behalf of the fan, when it could have very well been nothing more than a well-meaning tribute to her mother. I should know---back when I was new to the internet and still litter more than a kid, I opened up a fan site for a favorite singer. Back then, I think I toyed with using the word "official" as part of it's title, because I thought all that word meant was that the site was better than the competition. I, as a young person, had no real idea the implications that really came with that word. As far as I was concerned, calling your online site "official" was sort of another way of calling it "cool". So, if I could be so mistaken about the use of that word, once upon a time, then who's to say that the Instagram Glenn Close fan wasn't just mistaken too? So, as a fellow fan, I feel for anyone who might have made a mistake like that, because can you imagine how devastating it would be for the daughter of your fave to say that to you? I mean, other people could say it, and it might roll off you like water off a duck's back. But, this is your fave's offspring---like your fave 2.0! So, think about it....that hurts!!
So, anyway, at least one person on DL has accused this thread of "making fun" of Glenn's daughter. But, I hope everyone who might be reading this now knows better; it's not "making fun" of someone to point out their hurtful comments or actions. It is merely venting, wanting some feedback, and maybe some indication that it's not how it seems.
Speaking of "seems", I'm pleased to learn, based on the responses to this thread so far, that Glenn is a lot more friendly than she seems to some. Thanks all, for the replies so far!
