Land of Mine
It's a Danish/German co-production and is nominated for Best Foreign Film. It has a limited release on Feb 17th.
I went to a screening of it yesterday and although it's a very difficult film to watch I'm glad I saw it. It's about a bunch of very young German POWS who are forced to clear land mines along the Danish coast. Needless to say most of them go boom.
Excellent acting in this. The young lead, Louis Hofmann, is a beautiful looking kid. And the 40-ish Danish sergeant who's in charge is played by an extremely hot clone daddy named Roland Møller.
It's easy to hate these kids at first because they were fucking Germans during WWII but the film is very skillful in having us gradually be sympathetic towards them. After all they were just kids conscripted at the very end of it.

Yes, R1.
Uhhh, R3, are you being dense on purpose? It's a fact that out of the 2000 German kids forced to clear land mines that at least half ended up either dead or horribly maimed.

[quote] The young lead, Louis Hofmann, is a beautiful looking kid.
He also stars in the gay romance "Die Mitte der Welt".
