Well known hack, know-it-all, and crime writer Miss McNamara was taking Adderall, Xanax and Fentanyl! Adderall to focus, Xanax to come down, and Fentanyl, for the pain of having to let her midget husband mount her. How did this bitch get Fentanyl for home usage? Doctor shopping?
Patton Oswalt Reveals Wife Michelle McNamara’s Cause Of Death

I have only seen him in YOUNG ADULT and was mystified by the great reviews he received.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 5, 2017 4:06 AM |
He's trying to say it was an underlying heart condition, and not the drug cocktail that killed her. Sure, Patton...sure.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 5, 2017 4:09 AM |
He was funny on Justified. Had never heard of her before she died. I find it odd that he's released this information.

May she RIP, but I hated how she renamed EAR/ONS "the Golden State Killer". How presumptuous.

Maybe she was tender to the touch
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 5, 2017 4:21 AM |
Why could t it have been him that died instead of his poor unknown wife?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 5, 2017 4:22 AM |
R3, we've all seen enough crime shows to start wondering was Patton behind the whole thing himself. I have a feeling that is partly why he came out with the details.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 5, 2017 4:23 AM |
R7 I doubt it. The wife looks very overweight. ADHD drugs have been known to cause heart problems especially if you're already genetically predisposed. Big pharma downplays that little side effect.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 5, 2017 4:27 AM |
R8 How do you treat it?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 5, 2017 4:28 AM |
Fentanyl is prescribed primarily for pain, I think? My late niece had been in a car accident - rear-ended by some asshole who ran into her (she was stopped at a red light) at 35 MPH. She had great lower back pain; after a couple of years, found a doctor to prescribe a fentanyl patch. But my niece died, at 30, at least indirectly from taking the fentanyl patch; she was already on a ton of bi-polar meds, and liked to drink too much (partying with friends.) Had a BAC of 2.03 (whoops) when she died, but it was the combo of that and the fentanyl that did it. I asked my own doctor about it; he said fentanyl is VERY potent and there are a number of deaths from it.
I feel very bad for Oswalt, but really, it's getting to the point where one feels like tweeting that he is not the ONLY man who has lost a spouse!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 5, 2017 4:32 AM |
R9 Mindfullness meditation and exercise. I'm not against drugs(take antidepressants), I just dislike how they're pushed so heavily by psychologists for ADHD. It's a shame most of the anti-big pharma people are nuts (insisting that ADHD and other mental disorders are made up). They do have some valid points.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 5, 2017 4:32 AM |
Patton Oswalt was a super rat!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 5, 2017 4:37 AM |
I agree with r7.
There is just too much info and too many details in this story. The type of coffee he got her? Where he placed it. What he said to her the night before.
Even speculating about cause of death (when no official cause has been determined.)
It all reads like a Dateline episode.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 5, 2017 4:38 AM |
Is her book on the EAR/ONS going to be published posthumously? I thought Patton and a few of her friends finished it.

Murder by patch. You heard it here first people.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 5, 2017 5:00 AM |
R9 Managing ADD or ADHD or curing it altogether is not a 'one size fits all' approach. The specific nutritional program and supplements that work extremely well for one person could be disastrous for another.
I highly recommend watching Dr Daniel Amen's DVD Series on ADD/ADHD and determine the specific type (out of the 6 or 7 types) that you have based upon his teachings and then go from there by sticking with the recommended daily supplements for your exact type and also staying on the accompanying nutritional program, which, btw, is not a weight-loss diet. It's a nutritional program. He's not selling anything (like vitamins, supplements, etc.) other than the book and DVD series.
Many have been successfully cured by his information. Dr Amen is an MD/Psychiatrist and brain specialist doctor and his wife is an RN and Holistic Nutritionist. He is a genius. Good luck.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 5, 2017 5:04 AM |
R16 Thanks for the recommendation. I will look into him.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 5, 2017 5:05 AM |
R15 What do you mean? I thought you can only get a patch by prescription and that they emphasize "use as directed only."
How could Patton (or anyone else for that matter) overdose her with a patch? She would know he applied it to her skin and that she was wearing it. She would have been aware of that, no?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 5, 2017 5:24 AM |
Please, she didn't have ADHD. Everyone in the entertainment industry gets a dr to diagnose them with phony ADHD so they can score some legal speed. It's a weight loss method.

Twitter trolls @ him constantly to throw it in his face so what is he supposed to do? I follow him and it's not as if he brings the topic up constantly himself. 90% of his tweets are jokes about politics. I'm sure he'll be glad to get some closure and move on, but you can't expect him to just never speak again about such a major event in his life.

by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 5, 2017 6:20 AM |
R18, the hype on patches is this. First, fentanyl is I believe 100 times more powerful than morphine (or something unbelievable like that). Big pharma says you can't overdose on a patch as it is basically time-released. HOWEVER, there are easy ways that junkies extract the meds in a single highly concentrated dose. The main way they do is with heat, but people also chew them, and I've even read about them finding ways to add the gel to a solution or something so they can shoot it. So, let's say she's a deep sleeper, highly possible if she's tweaking on Vyvanse or another stimulant all day. Let's also add the plausible scenario that she wears her patch all the time. If the spouse, and of course this is just a theory (his behavior is causing red flags), he could easily heat up a second and/or third patch. Junkies use hairdryers or heating pads or other creative ways. It's ridiculously easy - throw a patch on a heating pad for ten to fifteen minutes and you're instore for quite the high if you don't overdose. So you are indeed overriding the safeguards that control the release of the meds just by heating that gel. Stick it on her near her usual spot (you literally forget it's there almost immediately, so if she was sleeping it is not impossible to do). Then watch her breathing slow down over an hour. Still alive? Add one more. The margin of error on dosage is LOW on fentanyl because it wouldn't be hard to die if the dose is too high. Anyhoo, slap a few heated up patches on her while she sleeps, watch her breathing slow down, she stops breathing, take off the extra patches and put them back in the box, then coroner just sees elevated levels of fentanyl which means it was probably self-administered (in his view) especially because it was a patch. plus combined with the other meds straining we body. You've got a dead person, and no evidence. Many patch users save their patches even when they're used as sometimes there's still "juice" in the gel which can add a bump whenever they want. Also, many pain doctors require that you save your patches (4 per month) and return them to the dr to ensure you aren't selling them and that they're disposed of safely. So if the cops attribute the other used pads to her using them, they would never know. I actually think this is a way to murder someone that could make it impossible to prove.
So it was murder OR I'm going to hell for posting this.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 5, 2017 6:23 AM |
How is his behavior causing red flags?

Congratulations, Detective LaToya Jackson @ r25.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 5, 2017 6:56 AM |
R25, you wouldn't even need to add more than one patch. The transdermal fenatnyl patch is dosed in micrograms--it releases between 12 mcg/hr up to 100 mcg/hr for 72 hours. However, the entire patch, depending on the size, contain between 1.375 MG of fentanyl citrate (12 mcg/hr patch) and 11 MG of fentanyl citrate (100 mcg/hr patch). If the person has a decent opioid tolerance, one 12 mcg/hr patch might not be enough, but causing 8-11 mg of fentanyl (from larger size patches) to release into the skin at once is certainly enough to kill pretty much anyone.

by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 5, 2017 2:07 PM |
R36, I blocked Patton about three years ago after he went on yet another rant about copyright infringement. Some guy with about 25 followers made a joke @ him and he went off on the guy, asking his followers to attack this dude on his behalf, which they did, including calling the guy a "f*ggot". When this was pointed out to Patton, he said the guy deserved to be insulted.
So don't give me this bullshit about him being King Liberal Gaylover Of America. He's like every other flabby GenX straight male with minor celebrity: talks a good talk but will turn into a douchebro at the first hint of minor inconvenience.

We have a crazy lady who believes McNamara plagiarized from Websleuthers and DLers about true crime cases. She's probably most of these comments on this thread.
She went completely off the rails when McNamara died, claiming that McNamara killed herself out of guilt for stealing EAR/ONS info from DL threads.

Accidentally overdose is easy if the Fentanyl patch cracks. There is a warning about it right on the box. It's easy to get for migraines especially among the wealthy. You could easily find a soccer mom in any wealthy suburb on those same meds. It's ridiculous to act as if she had it coming or that he is responsible in any manner. I love a bitchy queen, but these comments take the fun out of it. Are you trolls even queer? Datalounge has become more bitter than witty lately. Ugh.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 5, 2017 10:05 PM |
Pharm tech here and can confirm that R48 is mostly right. I work in a rich suburb and we have some people on Fentanyl, but I wouldn't say it's that easy to get. And yes, soccer moms love their Xanax and ADHD meds... don't see that many of them on Fentanyl tho.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 5, 2017 10:29 PM |
Migraine sufferer here, no ethical doctor would give you Fentanyl for migraines. Not saying it does not happen, but my neurologist is iffy just giving me fioricet (Acetaminophen / Butalbital / Caffeine), because the opioids are not only addictive, but then you get into the cycle of rebound headaches. I only take it when Ive had too much sumatriptan in a month.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 5, 2017 11:01 PM |
Fentanyl patch for pain management ought to be outlawed. If your every day pain can't be managed by non-narcotic drugs, you need a spinal epidural. Big Pharma is killing people.

The crazy lady who said McNamara probably killed herself because she was guilty of stealing from DL was on the "Celebrity dead pool" thread, #53:
[quote]Patton's wife actually used info from Datalounge in conjunction with an actual witness to take credit for solving a long going national case. She was discredited when people here submitted info to the detectives on the case directly. They beat her out. If they hadn't contacted detectives she was too willing to take the credit for the case..but she got caught in January. Wouldn't be surprised if this was an overdose or suicide when she found herself locked out of the investigation.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 6, 2017 10:47 AM |
And the thread with the info McNamara supposedly stole is this one from 2013. Start at #92, there's a troll who claims he knows who the GSK is.
That said, I've followed the GSK case off and on (never here on DL because of the crazy lady I mentioned upthread) and there is some solid speculation that the GSK likes to read threads about himself and maybe even participate in true crime forums. He's definitely called victims years and years after the crimes, just to revel in it, but there's also some creepy stuff that's gone on with an old A&E TV account that makes it somewhat likely that the GSK was logging into forums on his own crimes, just to lurk and see what's being said about him.
What happens, then, is when someone like poster #92 on the linked thread shows up, people immediately think that's GSK trolling or giving out hints as part of a sick game. I'm pretty sure that troll's posts are what that lady claims was "stolen" from DL.

by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 6, 2017 12:14 PM |
Michelle Mcnamara was an amateur and just hoped to get "famous" by writing about EAR/ONS and rebranding him GSK. I feel bad that she was never able to escape her drug addictions, and was unfortunately married to your typical Hollywood narcissist-but she was also a huge narcissist as well.
How do you think she got those drugs? Sure some were legally prescribed via doctor shopping as this is what addicts do, but there's no way she was actually prescribed fentanyl, and she or her addict husband probably bought this online or got it from a drug dealer, and she was stupid enough to think she could fuck with a dangerous opiate like fent and take benzos and would be fine when that's how a lot of people have died. I know people who have been addicted to opiates for decades who will not touch or use fent at all, as it's that easy to overdose on even for people like them who are addicts who have a high tolerance to opiates.
Michelle McNamarra and her husband are fame whores, narcissists, and drug addicts. But people like this are way too common in and around Los Angeles, but it's been this way for decades.
Just look at how quickly her former husband remarried after she overdosed. Their "marriage" was your typical Hollywood one and probably one of convenience for both. They only stayed together because they were co-dependent addicts, and because had they gotten divorced they would have stabbed each other in the back in a messy divorce.
Their marriage was not a strong one and these people are in the public eye and, are professional narcissists and it's therefore fine to question and criticize anything and everything about them. Especially when they're both co-dependant addicts, fame whores, and Michelle McNamara is NOT a hero or any sort of true crime expert, or an expert on EAR/ONS she just wanted media attention and wanted to rebrand EAR/ONS as the golden state killer as though this is somehow original, when people have been looking for him/them for decades before she ever heard about any of this.
Oswalt's new wife is sketchy. She has been on the fringe of celebrity but had aged out of the sexy girl thing and now she is going to award shows and premieres and is back in the spotlight because of her connection with Patton Oswalt. You can't tell me she is attracted to that little troll. I would not be surprised if she was his side piece/mistress and he was banging her while he was still married to Michelle.
So much for Patton claiming to be "devastated and unable to recover," and acting as though Michelle was the love of his life. Meanwhile they were both using opiates, and benzos, instead of manning up and having them both change their lives, get sober, and realize that they can't use drugs. Anyone who uses fentanyl is an idiot, and combining it with a benzo means you have a death wish.
All of the PR BS about how she was having anxiety, lying about having a stable and loving marriage, and how she was supposedly unable to sleep was just pushing under the rug the fact that they are both addicts and unfortunately drugs killed Michelle and Patton could care less. Hopefully their daughter does not become a horrible person like her parents are, at all.
Patton is doing a tour about his wife's book but it's all about Patton, and he's milking the shit out of her poorly written book which I read an advanced copy of.
