I follow a few fitness fanatics I know on Instagram. While they often "love" pictures featuring women, most of the pictures they "love" feature men in the gym.

The ones who claim they're "str8" are bisexual and in denial. No one grossed out by their own biological sex is a normal human being.

Excessive working out can have a sort of anorexia type of mindset- you can't control anything around you, but you can control/create how your body looks. Also looking powerful helps you feel more empowered.

Health and fitness is a big deal. Yes we have a major problem with obesity in this country, but we also have a lot of people who run, workout, and stay fit and trim, especially younger people.

As for shaving and plucking and trimming and all of that, that is just the current fad. These things come into style and go out of style. Currently, a lot of straight guys believe in being hairless, except for the legs (if they're not runners of into cycling) and pits to a degree.
