Anyway, my take on part of Hamilton's success is that it appeals to many SJWs and privileged white people is that it helps them to deny their racism. They can rave about Hamilton and about how novel and inclusive it is to all their white, liberal friends without ever having to deal with the circumstances that less privileged groups face every day.

They humble-brag about the price of tickets, return to their white neighborhoods and pat themselves on the back for being so open-minded and inclusive, and if they are willing to pay outrageous prices to see a black man portray George Washington, then they can't possibly be racist. They feel that they have done something to help alleviate racism by seeing Hamilton, and raving about it, even if they didn't really love it as much as they publicly claim.

It's a trendy, must-see to some, however, I can also guarantee you that some of these ultra-privileged whites (including some of the celebrities that have seen it umpteen times), would be aghast if their rich, white neighborhoods ever became racially and economically diverse. He’s gonna be a lead balloon in the Mary Poppins Returns film, it’s a real winner except for every second he appears, he is AWFUL onscreen, amateurish, self aware and cursed with an odd “slow” tic of movement. Horrible casting choice.
