From yesterday's Huffington Post: The question is, will there be simply a landslide, or will we see the biggest landslide in history?
Donald Trump Stands A Real Chance Of Being The Biggest Loser In Modern Elections
by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 7, 2020 2:17 AM |
But Turnip will get more electoral college votes, so he could get a smaller percent of the total vote, and not seem like the biggest loser. Which he is, we already know that.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 28, 2016 10:23 PM |
This is ridiculous. Trump will get more electoral votes than Carter ('80), Dukakis, and Mondale COMBINED. Weren't those "modern elections?"
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 28, 2016 10:42 PM |
How many did.Carter get? I can't believe R2 to be correct.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 28, 2016 11:00 PM |
R3
49+13+111=173
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 28, 2016 11:18 PM |
Ok, he might get more electoral votes as R2 writes. Provided he doesn't have a breakdown.
I'll bet there are many people who will vote for him on the understanding that he cannot win. He's become a protest vote.

by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 29, 2016 1:12 AM |
This article came out the day before the Comey allegations. I still expect a healthy victory but biggest landslide ever is unlikely.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 30, 2016 11:13 PM |
CNN wants a horserace. They are getting it in the polling.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 30, 2016 11:20 PM |
Only if you cherry pick numbers to tell the story you want r11. This isn't a horse race, the state of the electoral college heavily favors Hillary.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 30, 2016 11:31 PM |
List of Presidential landslides.
I'm voting for Hillary but there ain't no way it will be the largest landslide ever; Roosevelt received 98.5% of the electoral college in 1936.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 30, 2016 11:46 PM |
Too bad there is no FDR now.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 30, 2016 11:52 PM |
Trump will win. Sorry OP, you lose.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 31, 2016 12:00 AM |
Let me crunch the numbers and see what I can do!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 31, 2016 12:05 AM |
Hill's in the bag. No worry. Totally predictable. Sure thing. Already decided. Hahahahahahahah....

by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 1, 2016 9:52 AM |
It's starting to look like it may not be a complete landslide.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 2, 2016 2:05 AM |
It's 50-50
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 2, 2016 2:07 AM |
Trump will win narrowly.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 2, 2016 2:39 AM |
Don't assume these stories will be correct. It is still critical to VOTE.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 8, 2016 1:30 AM |
Only a landslide. I doubt any president in modern history will win nearly every single state as Reagan did in the 80s.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 8, 2016 1:32 AM |
Very strange that people both think he'll have a sweeping victory, or a solid defeat.
Almost as unpredictable as the candidate himself.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 8, 2016 1:34 AM |
Goldwater suffered the biggest landslide defeat in modern history
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 8, 2016 1:42 AM |
R27 Uh, no.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 8, 2016 1:50 AM |
Lyndon Johnson 61.1%t
Barry Goldwater 38.5%

Reagan 58.8%
Mondale 40.6%

Sorry, but Goldwater is the biggest loser
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 8, 2016 1:53 AM |
What about McGovern?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 8, 2016 3:54 AM |
Whichever states he does win, let's not move there.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 8, 2016 4:02 AM |
I am hoping for the biggest landslide ever, let the bastard rot in hell!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 8, 2016 4:02 AM |
R29 NOT in electoral votes, which is all that matters.
Reagan 525
Mondale 13
______
Johnson 486
Goldwater 52
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 8, 2016 5:26 AM |
No landslide. He's going to win by the smallest of margins. Packing up and heading for Canada in the morning.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 8, 2016 6:06 AM |
Will you come back and apologize for your alarmist post tomorrow night, R34? I really wish you would.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 8, 2016 6:20 AM |
I suspect it will be sickeningly close. I'm so unsettled at this point that I'm wondering if I am going to keep my dinner down. Seriously.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 8, 2016 7:52 AM |
R33 closes this thread. Mondale would be hard to beat; it will be a landslide, but not the biggest one ever.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 8, 2016 7:56 AM |
If, somehow, Trump is elected, I would fully expect Canada and Mexico to close their borders.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 8, 2016 8:03 AM |
The blue and red firewalls are such That a 70s/80s level landslide is impossible for either party in the near future. Sorry, guys.
Dems were in a really dire place in the 80s and people forget (or weren't alive) all the states we now take for granted that Clinton had to flip - and did, and most of them have stuck. A totally blue state like New Jersey, for example, was a major battleground in '92. California had historically conservative pockets. It's amazing all the states Bill and his coalition were able to flip, and keep that way now going on 3 decades.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 8, 2016 8:07 AM |
I think Hillary is going to win but it's going to be close. I'm under no illusion that Trump has a lot of support. It's delusional to deny that. I feel like it's going to be a late night. I've slept so little in the past few days due to stress over this, it's going to be a struggle to stay up. My partner is getting fed up with my constant worry. He thinks Trump would never get any cooperation do accomplish anything anyway. If he wins and has both houses, this country as we know it is done, in my opinion.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 8, 2016 8:17 AM |
trump can't win. he has a narrow urethra

R41 Hank Hill for President!
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 8, 2016 9:07 PM |
Trumps got at least 190 electoral votes locked up. A landslide means Hillary needs at least 441 votes. The most she can get is 350
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 8, 2016 10:15 PM |
I'd call 350 a landslide
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 8, 2016 10:17 PM |

The Huffington Post’s editor's note calling Donald Trump as a “racist” and “xenophobe” is no more, a source in the newsroom tells POLITICO.
For months, every story on the Huffington Post about Trump came with the following note at the bottom of the article.
"Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S."
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 9, 2016 3:20 PM |
That's amazing. It's still true -- and in fact it needs to be said more now than ever.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 9, 2016 5:43 PM |
Has this media outlet ever issued an apology saying, we were "slightly wrong"? Will the authors need to change their names?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | December 7, 2016 5:34 AM |
the ugly duckling author thinks she is being sexually harrassed!
by Anonymous | reply 50 | December 7, 2016 5:49 AM |
It's now clear this article caused serious harm to Clinton, with her voters staying home calculating the size of the landslide.
I wonder if this "Senior Polling Editor" feels any guilt at all.

by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 16, 2017 7:22 PM |
BIGGEST LANDSLIDE EVER. Oh wait. Sorry I thought this was a new thread for 2020. That one she'll win or I'm sewing up my love hole.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 16, 2017 7:43 PM |
Mondale was the biggest loser in modern elections. I think Trump will lose but it will be closer than 1984.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 26, 2020 9:01 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 26, 2020 9:05 PM |
When he loses, I hope he explodes into a fiery rage that touches his whole administration. The whole bunch of them deserve to be in prison...I hope for justice.

by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 26, 2020 9:24 PM |

Electoral college needs to be abolished. A bullshit system. Only losers who can't win want it to stay.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | October 7, 2020 1:24 AM |
Yeah, r60, we'll be just as horrified with Joe Biden as President as when we saw Bill Clinton as President or Barack Obama as President. Why just compare the damage those two did when compared with the massively awesome job that George W. Bush did and Donald Trump did. Truly, there is no comparison.
Really, if you're going to troll here, can't you at least make an effort?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | October 7, 2020 1:33 AM |
No, No, No. Stop this talk right now. We have to keep running as fast as we can until over the finish line. Trump strategists want us to relax, slow down a bit, so they can run past us and win by a nose. Like last time.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | October 7, 2020 1:36 AM |
Jon Cooper posted this tonight and I have no reason to doubt it.
Tomorrow would be a good day for Trump to throw out that "I Resign" tweet. "GOP source w/ White House ties: “Trump is being advised to resign in honor rather than leave in defeat. He fears prison. He wants to maintain campaign, but without Hicks, Conway & Miller, he's done. He’s really alone. He must be speaking with Pence about a pardon.”
by Anonymous | reply 64 | October 7, 2020 1:41 AM |
[quote] GOP source w/ White House ties: “Trump is being advised to resign in honor rather than leave in defeat.
"GOP sources" were leaking the same in October 2016. Not going to happen.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | October 7, 2020 1:49 AM |
R64, I won't believe it until Claudia C. confirms it.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | October 7, 2020 1:50 AM |
We will never EVER see the kinds of landslides we saw in the '80s. They could run Satan as a Republican and he'd still get more electoral votes than Mondale, Carter ('80) and Dukakis -- COMBINED.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | October 7, 2020 1:51 AM |
Trump will drop dead before he drops out of this election.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | October 7, 2020 1:51 AM |
r62, the only "damage" trumps done is the collateral damage done by the deranged media as the saw he was starting to disassemble that diabolical, self-serving beast of a government and globalist interests. (Oh, and YOU know it to, don't you). Now feel free to belittle my education and correct my spelling like a good drone apparatchik.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 7, 2020 2:00 AM |
ROFL.... I'm not going to bother, R69, as you did yourself far more harm with that delusional post than anything I could ever write in response.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 7, 2020 2:02 AM |
R70, so I shouldn't be surprised that I already had R69 on ignore?
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 7, 2020 2:03 AM |
[quote] There is, it turns out, a role in this biggest-loser crusade for people who don’t want to vote for either Trump or Clinton. Any vote that is cast for someone or something other than Trump puts the tiniest dent in his vote percentage, since it increases the total number of votes. So your Constitution Party vote, or your write-in vote for “WEED,” actually has a purpose this year.
These clueless HuffPost cunts actually *encouraged* Jill Stein votes in this article. This was devastating advice.
