Study: over 1/5 of Straight Dudes watch Gay Porn

My straights bro acknowledge they have watched male Porn. As part of a new study into the porn viewing habits of straight, gay and bisexual men published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour, Dr Martin J Downing, asked 821 men about the types of porn they watched – and there were some rather eye-opening findings. While 98.3% of men who identified as gay and 96% of men who identified as bisexual had viewed gay porn in the last six months, the most surprising revelation was that almost a fifth (21%) of men who identify as straight had watched it within that time frame too.

Interestingly, the survey also found that 55% of men who identified as gay had watched straight porn in the same time-frame, but Dr Downing tells Cosmopolitan that his team were not surprised by the findings. “Sexual attractions and behaviours are more than just identity,” he said

21% of guys have watched gay porn in the last 6 months? That's not surprising to me.

I'm more surprised only 55% of gay men had watched straight porn, I would expect it to be much higher.

by Anonymousreply 1October 12, 2016 4:14 PM

There was a reddit for "100% hetero guys" who only watch gay porn. Self-repression is alive and well.

And before someone compares it to lesbians watching gay male porn, lesbians watch twink porn where the guys are androgynous and smooth and look like babydykes with fleshy strap-ons. It's not the same thing.

by Anonymousreply 2October 12, 2016 4:19 PM
There was a reddit for "100% hetero guys" who only watch gay porn

To be fair that subreddit was a bit of an inside joke, the majority of guys there did not identify as straight.

by Anonymousreply 3October 12, 2016 4:20 PM

Send me that Reddit link bro

by Anonymousreply 4October 12, 2016 4:28 PM

I think porn viewing habits these days are very much influenced by the endless links showing up on someone's screen. The average porn viewer doesn't have to save money and buy content. It's all available online and people watch everything from porn they find attractive to fetish porn they watch for shock value.

by Anonymousreply 5October 12, 2016 4:40 PM

Hotttt

by Anonymousreply 6October 12, 2016 5:27 PM

Why do people not realize that using the word "Bro" in ANY CONTEXT is douchealicous?

by Anonymousreply 7October 12, 2016 5:40 PM

I'm gay and I never watch straight porn. The women are gross and the men usually are, too.

by Anonymousreply 8October 12, 2016 5:41 PM

I am gay and maybe a bit bi in the past. When I watch STRAIGHT porn I can get off on the guy, or sometimes the girl, or sometimes put myself in the position of the girl, and sometimes the guy.

Why would hetero - straight men watch gay porn? I don't get what role play they are doing if its 2 guys.

by Anonymousreply 9October 12, 2016 5:46 PM

It doesn't say they are necessarily masturbating to it r9, the question is just have you watched it at some point in the last 6 months.
Why do people not realize that using the word "Bro" in ANY CONTEXT is douchealicous?

It's the dudebro troll, of course he is douchealicious.

And where is what r2 was referring to. But 59% of that subreddit identified as gay, only 9% actually identified as straight.

by Anonymousreply 10October 12, 2016 5:53 PM

R9, maybe a straight guy would identify with the top in gay porn. Just as you identify with the guy straight porn.

by Anonymousreply 11October 12, 2016 5:58 PM

R11 i suppose its possible for the fluid millennials - but whats the role play of a straight guy identifying with a porn of a guy fucking a guy.?

I am going to guess any straight guy who looks at gay action for a sexual frisson, is going to be imagining himself suck a dick or getting fucked.

by Anonymousreply 12October 12, 2016 6:02 PM

One of my teammates, identified as straight, loved watching Gay Porn. I have no idea. He had plenty of opportunities to mess around with other guys (our sport is full of gay guys) but he never seemed interested. But any chance he could he'd see if we wanted to watch Sean Cody. It was odd.

by Anonymousreply 13October 12, 2016 6:04 PM

After all, horny straight guys know whats its like to get oral service and to lay pipe. They don't know what its like to deep throat or to get plowed, unless their gf's do it with a strap on.

by Anonymousreply 14October 12, 2016 6:04 PM

"I never watch straight porn. The women are gross and the men usually are, too. "

You're not watching the good stuff. I'm totally homo, like 110% queer, and I love watching hot guys plow women.

by Anonymousreply 15October 12, 2016 6:09 PM

I think for some straight men there is a sort of extreme sport/gross-out factor to gay porn that fascinates and tittilates them. It's like watching "Jackass" or something. That plus a sort of MMA fascination with the dominance aspect of top/bottom man-on-man sex.

I also think a lot of these same guys are not 100% straight, and many are not nearly that straight at all.

by Anonymousreply 16October 12, 2016 6:10 PM

R10 seems to believe that straight dudes watch gay porn for research.

Is this research for an academic paper r10?

Perhaps for a newspaper or website?

Oh! I know: It's religious research!

by Anonymousreply 17October 12, 2016 6:11 PM
I love watching hot guys plow women.

To each his own, but I'd much rather watch hot guys plow other hot guys. And porn women ***are*** gross. Even straight guys say so.

by Anonymousreply 18October 12, 2016 6:11 PM

Men are used to deal with male genitalia, their own, so it's not really that big of a step to get aroused by other cocks. And people, men and women, are complex creatures. We get sexually and emotionally aroused by various things, like the power play between two people. I'm fairly certain many straight guys would love to bottom for the right guy. Some betas seem to get off from obeying rules laid by an alpha male.

Obviously if a man gets aroused by another man we are talking about some sort of bisexuality. I still believe Kinsey scale is not that far off from the truth.

Well, R16, you basically said what I was writing.

by Anonymousreply 19October 12, 2016 6:12 PM

No straight guy would love to bottom for the right guy. Getting oral from a guy, yes.

by Anonymousreply 20October 12, 2016 6:14 PM

R20 I once would have agreed with you but in talking to a lot of guys I know.. I dont know. A lot of straight guys I know seem to have this idea that they'd rather bottom than have anything to do with their mouths. For some reason they think bottoming is "less gay" than anything oral.

Again, I don't understand that way of thinking.

by Anonymousreply 21October 12, 2016 6:22 PM

Not to worry r21, you only need to understand their holes.

by Anonymousreply 22October 12, 2016 6:24 PM

In a world where pegging is a thing heterosexual couples enjoy, it's not a stretch for an adventurous straight guy to fantasize about actual penile penetration in a scenario about male-on-male dominance and submission.

It's also totally gay, too. But still not a stretch these days. (Some) Guys are more fluid and open-minded now.

by Anonymousreply 23October 12, 2016 6:27 PM

Bros should be able to watch and enjoy whatever they want, while finger banging themselves, of course.

by Anonymousreply 24October 12, 2016 6:47 PM

This isn't shocking at all. I was primarily with girls when I was young (14 - 22) and only men afterwards. I'd be into trying a MMF thing but I'm not positive I'd be into it at 31, after a decade away from gash. Straight/bi/cuckold porn is a way of exploring that.

Stands to reason that gay porn is a "safe" way for straight guys to explore bi-curious fantasies.

by Anonymousreply 25October 12, 2016 7:16 PM

R7, most guys would rather be a douche in your eyes than to be a prissy lame effeminate

by Anonymousreply 26October 12, 2016 7:54 PM

At Yale, dudes in our suite would watch gay porn together, thug black and blatino porn. They seriously would critique. Only one of the dudes identifies as gay. Lots of hot jocks in that suite, so it was pretty hot, but they viewed it as if it were mainstream art, not something that turned them on.

by Anonymousreply 27October 12, 2016 7:57 PM

there is no such thing as being straight. Every "straight" guy is forced to have sex with women for the fear of being ostracized by the society.

by Anonymousreply 28October 12, 2016 8:16 PM

Could simply be curious.

by Anonymousreply 29October 12, 2016 8:30 PM
You're not watching the good stuff. I'm totally homo, like 110% queer, and I love watching hot guys plow women.

R15 I am gay and in my 60's and I sort of grew up watching straight porn because it was very available before the internet. Today any woman even being in a gay porno is a complete boner killer for me. Even with their clothes on, naked I can't close it fast enough. Face it, it is just a case of different strokes for different folks, there is no good stuff for me any longer with women in porn. Totally gay porn is the all I want to see.

by Anonymousreply 30October 12, 2016 8:34 PM

It seems there are women now who are encouraging their male partners to be more receptive to being banged by a strap-on. Twice in the last ten years I've been asked by straight male friends for advice on how to "loosen up so it doesn't hurt" and it's an awkward conversation. Shouldn't people do sexual things that they find interesting?

by Anonymousreply 31October 12, 2016 8:40 PM

I love hot chicks in porn

by Anonymousreply 32October 12, 2016 8:42 PM

R32 = lesbian.

by Anonymousreply 33October 12, 2016 8:42 PM

No bi male

by Anonymousreply 34October 12, 2016 8:44 PM

I viewed straight porn in my teens due the simple fact I had no access to gay porn(grew up in the rural south,1980's) . '"Hustler" magazine had a fair amount of male nudity, thank goodness.

I can see a straight man watching gay porn once, out of curiosity, but if you're getting off regularly to gay porn, you're not entirely straight. I don't know why some of you are so entranced with the idea that all straight men are secretly gay or bi, they're not. According to my straight female friends, the average straight guy is not that great in the bedroom department.

by Anonymousreply 35October 12, 2016 9:34 PM

Hmmmm

by Anonymousreply 36October 13, 2016 1:34 AM

Yay!

by Anonymousreply 37October 14, 2016 3:35 AM

the gay straight binary is relatively new. in antiquity guys all fucked each other without fear of being labeled gay. that's how we're wired naturally.

by Anonymousreply 38October 14, 2016 3:50 AM

Enough with the word bro. God I'm so sick to death of it. Especially since nobody ever refers to ME that way.

by Anonymousreply 39October 14, 2016 3:52 AM

Wait - are they watching lesbian porn - they didn't say what type of gay porn.

by Anonymousreply 40October 14, 2016 3:55 AM

I'm gay and only want to see gay porn.

by Anonymousreply 41October 14, 2016 4:06 AM

I believe it. Only because I'm "gay" and I like to watch pussy porn sometimes.

by Anonymousreply 42October 14, 2016 4:11 AM

Actually, I just realized I do have one straight porn clip in my collection (downloaded, I think, from one of those Next Door sites). I remember keeping it because I thought the guy was so fucking hot (and had a huge dick) but though I still have it, I haven't watched it in years. Seeing men with women just doesn't do a damn thing for me. I only want to see men fucking men.

by Anonymousreply 43October 14, 2016 4:18 AM

I would watch straight porn if the women weren't so annoying and try-hard. If I ever had sex with a woman I'd have to pretend to be into BDSM just so I could stuff a ball gag in her mouth. Why do those women scream so much?!

by Anonymousreply 44October 14, 2016 4:35 AM

If gay guys nowadays can say that they "don't like labels," and they will call themselves anything but gay, then I imagine straight guys nowadays are also "sexually fluid" because they won't have to say they're gay. So straight guys can now just say they're sexually fluid, pan-sexual, straight but questioning or some other such nonsense.

by Anonymousreply 45October 14, 2016 4:42 AM

No labels dude

by Anonymousreply 46October 14, 2016 7:13 AM

Do you think maybe younger straight guys have seen so much straight sex from such a young age (given the internet era they were born into), that the next 'thrill' is gay porn?

They have become so desensitised, that there is some 'novel' appeal in gay porn? Better that then snuff.

by Anonymousreply 47October 14, 2016 7:35 AM

"Straight dude" is the most searched or sought term by viewers of all-male porn

by Anonymousreply 48October 14, 2016 2:10 PM

The site has a Pornhub Gay section and according to the insight, the most viewed categories in the United Kingdom are “Straight Guys,” “Black,” and “Daddy” in that order of preference. Interestingly, in the US, it is the category “Black” that is the most viewed.

There is also a “Fetish” category on the Pornhub Gay section, which is actually 48% more popular among gay viewers in the UK. Likewise, gay twink videos are also 45% more popular in the British country. But there is something in common between the UK and the US and that is with regards to having ‘straight first time’ as the No. 1 most popular gay search on Pornhub Gay featuring videos of straight guys.

The top relative searches also showed that regional slang like ‘british chav’ is nearly 1,200% more popular in the UK, along with ‘chav,’ ‘British lads,’ ‘english lads,’ and ‘wanking.’

The Oxford English Dictionary defines chav as an informal British derogatory, meaning a young lower-class person who displays brash and loutish behavior and wears real or imitation designer clothes.

Most of these straight guys are probably watching gay porn out of curiosity, for the ick factor (and often in groups), or to witness the mechanics of it in a clinical manner, such as the way gay guys would watch lesbian porn.

I expect only a small number of them are actually wanking off to it.

by Anonymousreply 55November 1, 2016 4:47 AM

R55, uh no, you might watch out of curiosity once or twice, but not repeatedly. To have over 1/5 who have recently watched it, indicates a more sensual interest

by Anonymousreply 56November 1, 2016 11:13 AM

A recent study shows that straight men's top searches online were:

1. Breasts

2. Butts

3. Feet

4. PENISES

They think this is why she-male pron is really popular amoung straight males, because all of these searches can be found on a she-male.

Remember, the last large study of sexuality was done by Kinsey around the EARLY 1950's! There is a YUGE gap in studying human sexuality.

by Anonymousreply 62November 4, 2016 11:04 AM

Years ago we (a group of gay men) were showing a married couple nude pictures of guys we pulled off the Internet (circa 1998). The husband went indoors to use the bathroom, or so if he said, and after about ten minutes my friend went in to make a drink and caught the married, straight guy in the kitchen with his hand down his pants masturbating! The gay porn had obviously turned him on. My friend turned around like he didn't see anything and went back outdoors. Of course, after the couple left, he told us all about it.

by Anonymousreply 63November 4, 2016 12:38 PM

Gayer than your Mom's titties at Christmas, but when I'm feeling decadent and resplendent I will watch not just straight but lesbian porn. There's a lot of mediocre lesbian porn out there but there is some good stuff too.

So analyze that...

by Anonymousreply 67November 20, 2016 6:27 AM

Gay guys watching straight porn shouldn't be a surprise. They have guys in them. Straight guys watching gay porn? Yeah, no.

by Anonymousreply 68November 20, 2016 6:35 AM

I'm 100% homosexual and prefer straight porn, just because I often find the guys in them hotter and more my type.

by Anonymousreply 69November 20, 2016 6:39 AM
Straight guys watching gay porn? Yeah, no.

You can be straight in your real life and still have fantasies or curiosity about gay sex.

A straight friend of mine once drunkenly confessed he felt really guilty about liking rough (straight) porn: bondage, spanking, even simulated rape. He had no intention of ever doing any of it but still felt it was wrong.

I had to laugh and told him he'd never believe how many of my female friends had fantasies like that, and not the ones you'd expect. I doubt any of the women would have submitted to being tied up or a simulated rape but they thought about it.

R71 Where was that link supposed to go?

I'll watch straight porn every once in a while, but I really have to be into the dude to like it... also I prefer if it's not zeroing in on the girl most of the time. I like watching a man enjoy himself sexually, and knowing he's straight is a turn on as well.

by Anonymousreply 75November 20, 2016 12:17 PM

Dies out

by Anonymousreply 76November 20, 2016 12:17 PM

I'm queer as a Christmas goose, but I love straight porn. Gay porn has become so boring that most of it is not even watchable IMO. It's just a bunch of sad crap done in porn factories, cranked out like and assembly line. The gay porn producers gave up on quality long ago and decided to go for a quantity mode of operation.

The men in straight porn are many times much hotter than the men in gay porn. And as I'm not turned on or off by a naked female it really doesn't matter that they're in the films I like to watch. They're just scenery required for the males to do their thing. I find it incredibly sexy to watch a straight man get so hot and bothered over someone else that he loses control. The fact that the other person is a female means nothing.

Regarding this study, some group did a scientific study years back where they took a group of men who identified as 100% heterosexual, hooked them up to various types of meters to gauge their level of sexual arousal, put them in private rooms and showed them hardcore straight and gay porn. Almost without fail the men showed far more sexual arousal when the gay porn was playing. What this means I don't know. Does it mean that many, if not most, straight men secretly are turned on by the thought of having sex with men, or that the guys in this study were simply turned on by the vision of something they'd always thought of as forbidden? I'd love to get into the minds of the men in that porn study.

I'd love to see how this study was worded.

I suspect that the majority of those straight (versus "straight") guys who said they watched gay porn were referring to times they accidentally clicked something on a straight porn site and a gay porno then popped up (and they shut it down pronto) rather than actually going in and jerking off to SeanCody.

If nothing else, I can't imagine closet cases would tell a researcher they'd watched gay porn--probably the last person they'd open up to.

by Anonymousreply 97November 20, 2016 4:56 PM

Watching is different than encountering or seeing

by Anonymousreply 98November 20, 2016 4:59 PM

Nope R93, I watch both. It's especially hot when the cunt lips are puffy and the clit swollen.

by Anonymousreply 99November 20, 2016 5:03 PM

That's what I meant R98-- how was the study worded-- did they differentiate between those terms? Because while it's possible that many straight-identified guys actually do sometimes watch Sean Cody, I'm struggling with the notion of them admitting that to a researcher

by Anonymousreply 100November 20, 2016 5:03 PM

These studies dangerous to gay people because one, it lends to the notion that being gay is a choice and two, being gay isn't a real identity. It's a behavior.

by Anonymousreply 109November 20, 2016 6:53 PM

It is behavior, R109. Until the term homosexuality was coined there was no such thing as a gay identity.

by Anonymousreply 110November 20, 2016 6:57 PM

R109 Sexuality, in this case we are singling out [bold]Homo[/bold]sexuality, is a natural behavior of the human male specimen.

Males have pheromones that are comparable to other males. When males get together, they are more likely to think of homosexuality, than when they are not.

Pheromones are part of the way males communicate.
huge numbers of men who are attracted or involved with men do not identify as gay

And they shouldn't, because homosexual sex does not make the male a homosexual man. Like I said, males have various degrees of Bisexuality.

by Anonymousreply 113November 20, 2016 7:27 PM

You might be a behavior R110. But, I'm not. I'm a person.

by Anonymousreply 114November 20, 2016 7:39 PM

I'm sorry you are defined by who you sleep with. Most of us are more complex than that.

For people with a solid sense of self, sex is a behavior, not an identity.

by Anonymousreply 115November 20, 2016 7:46 PM

R114 is a clueless millennial. Behaviors are traits in humans. Every animal in the animal kingdom has behaviors. You have innate behaviors that your physical make-up influences. For example getting a stiffy.

This is why many DLer are opposing the Trans movement, because it goes against accepting the natural human make-up. It is impossible to become the opposite sex because you are locked on the body you were born with, and there is nothing wrong with it.

by Anonymousreply 116November 20, 2016 7:56 PM

I'm a gay person. Sorry.

by Anonymousreply 117November 20, 2016 8:25 PM

Randy Spears going to town with his tongue on a gaping gash is a wonder to behold. And I'm as gay as they get. Another thing in straight porn that is incredibly hot is when the few guys who were willing to do it would ejaculate all over some gal's mouth and then lean over and french kiss them while the cum is still all over their lips. Harry Reems was famous for that, and I once saw Buck Adams do it.

by Anonymousreply 118November 20, 2016 11:03 PM

What I always find both amusing and hot in straight porn are double penetration videos. I mean how gay can you get? Their dicks are rubbing all over each other, the two guys are getting each other off as much as they are getting the girl off.

by Anonymousreply 119November 20, 2016 11:05 PM

I've known straight men who love to fuck men, get fucked by men, and get their dicks sucked by men, but who would never suck a dick, or God forbid kiss another man.

by Anonymousreply 120November 20, 2016 11:06 PM

Most straight male porn stars are known to enjoy the odd cock now and then.

by Anonymousreply 121November 20, 2016 11:07 PM

When you're around other men fucking day after day, it has to make them think at some point "hmmm, maybe I'll give that a try one day".

I I think it was an interview with the guy for Corbin Fisher who said this. He said he hard part isn't getting some these guys to agree to getting fucked like some fans assume, the hard part is getting them to suck dick. That is why they have the most difficulty with.

I do feel like the best indicator of a performers sexuality is watch the way they suck a dick.

by Anonymousreply 125November 21, 2016 2:29 AM

Several hours later, I'm still struggling to believe that 20+% of guys who self-identify as straight would admit to a researcher that they sometimes watched gay porn.

Not that I don't believe it could be true, I just can't see the vast majority of them admitting it to anyone, especially a random researcher who is writing it down somewhere.

by Anonymousreply 126November 21, 2016 2:37 AM

Straight men are becoming more open about sexuality and exploring it more these days. I don't think it's some huge majority but some straight men are. They are eating their girlfriend's asses, having their asses ate, getting fucked (by women with strap-ons) and lots of other taboo "gay" acts that years ago the average straight guy wouldn't dare try

by Anonymousreply 131November 22, 2016 3:53 PM

R131 -

You put gay in quotes but not straight. Why?

by Anonymousreply 132November 22, 2016 3:59 PM

The sexual fluidity thing is going to go away in Trump's America. Homosexuality is going to be deemed disgusting again.

by Anonymousreply 133November 22, 2016 4:48 PM

R132 because most straight people consider those acts to be "gay" acts from their perspective, hence the quotes

by Anonymousreply 134November 25, 2016 10:39 AM

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. The ONLY thing keeping most all straight men from craving cock up their asses is the fact that they've never had their prostates milked by someone who knows how to do it. One orgasm while having that gland manipulated digitally and they'll be on our side. They'll want those asses filled daily, hell, hourly! Trust me on this.

I once gave a guy a prostatic orgasm in a back room video booth of a porn shop in NYC. I gave him head at the same time and had my finger well up into his cavity rubbing that prostate like mad. When he popped he let out a scream like a wounded dog. The place was a huge multi-floor store and noisy and when he let go everything in the building stopped cold. Total silence. When he finally recovered and we left the booth there was a group of guys standing around outside just waiting to see what or who was going to come out. We left to a standing O. That was a proud day in my life. The knowledge that I could give someone such intense pleasure. As we exited the store he went left and I went right. After about 10 feet of walking I stopped and looked back and he had also stopped and the look on his face was like "dear God In Heaven I have just experienced nirvana". He gave me a huge smile and off we went on our separate ways. If he had been better looking I would have never let him get away that easy. He was a tiny little guy, very wiry. I like 'em big and brawny generally.

Whenever you see outlier stats like this, you know something was wrong in the study--either in the way it was worded, the way it was conducted or the way the respondents were located.

It's a nice fantasy to think that one out of every straight guys regularly watches gay porn, but it's just not true.

(If I had to guess, they worded it in such a way as to confuse many of the respondents into thinking that girl-on-girl action qualified as "gay porn" and that resulted in the high number.)

by Anonymousreply 143November 25, 2016 6:24 PM

I don't believe it either.

by Anonymousreply 144November 25, 2016 6:27 PM

R143, if they said "gay porn" it means men. "lesbian porn" means women. There is no confusing things.

Gay : G : Men

Lesbian : L : Women

Ahhh, they're all queer.

by Anonymousreply 146November 25, 2016 6:32 PM

Enough witg these "studies". They should do a study about these mens' attitude towards the words "gay" and "bisexual". That will give researchers a better idea that these men, who have sex with other men or watch gay porn, are in fact gay and bisexual men who don't want to be thought of or labeled gay or bisexual.

These studies are homophobic and offensive.

by Anonymousreply 147November 25, 2016 6:37 PM

It's funny to open a thread about straight men becoming more open-minded about sexuality and being confronted with how provincial and narrow (some) DLers are.

by Anonymousreply 150November 25, 2016 6:51 PM

Of course R145

My (admittedly random) guess is that they did not distinguish between gay and lesbian porn in the study, or distinguish adequately. That would result in the higher number.

Posts like this are like catnip to DLers who want to believe that all straight guys can be turned.

by Anonymousreply 151November 25, 2016 7:09 PM

R147/148

Much as it might please you, social science researchers aren't going to adopt your definition of bisexuality (i.e. All people who have performed a sexual act, or even had a fantasy, contrary to their identified sexual orientation are automatically bisexual"). That would be misleading and deceptive because sexuality isn't so cut and dried.

Thus you're probably going to be offended by these "homophobic" studies as they're not going to stop.

You might do well to read the thread about gay sex in prison. Many man willingly have sex with other men in prison and very few of these men lived anything like a gay or bisexual life either before or after their incarceration.

Actually that is one perfectly fine definition of bisexuality. If you engage in sex with men and women, you are bisexual.
Bisexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction, or sexual behavior toward both males and females

Of course there are many people who have done this who do not consider themselves bisexual. That is the conflict, these labels are are how people chose to self-identify.
Many man willingly have sex with other men in prison

Yep, and it is also true that many men in a prison environment still do not engage in same-sex sexual acts.

The reality is sexuality is a spectrum. While they are some people who fall at the ends of the spectrum, many people fall somewhere along it. Most of these mostly straight or mostly gay people identify as straight or gay, they do not see themselves as bisexual.

Technically they would be, but that isn't the label that they feel fits them the best.

That's no more true than men who engage in sex with other men are homosexual.

A true bi-sexual is someone who craves sex with both sexes, not someone who necessarily has sex with both sexes. Lots of people (men and women) have experimented with having sex with their own gender, but that doesn't make them homosexual.

They've intentionally separated themselves the larger, primarily straight, universe. As a result they're threatened by anything that challenges their parochial and provincial worldview.

I'm straight but gay porn turns me on. I think i like the gay porn because of the sex ...its just something about the sex that turns me on.. i always had this fantsy of me having gay sex ..it like a dream of mine. But I say I am straight because I like girl like when i talk to girls my hearts starts to beat fast, i look at them as they pass by (I cant help it), and I have had several girlfriends. But for guy it mainly just sexual thing that turm=n me on like gay sex, men jacking off, hard ons, boners, male horniness, male orgasm, just sexual gay thing like that turns me on, but if i think about being in a gay relationship it totoally disgustes me like literally i could gag, i dont have emotional like loveing or caring for men...just the sex. Another tthing is that if i see two dudes kiss i dont get hard ons or get turned on ..i think that is gross. When I .look at striaght porn sometime i'm turned on my it but most times i am not ... i kind of take it as an advantage to ther men who are straight and just liost their virginity and cum too early ..atleast i know i wouldnt lol. IO know i am striaght I want to have sex with my girlfriend but when i do i will always think to my self gay sex would be so much better.

My question is ...does anyone else go through this too.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 178December 22, 2016 3:59 AM

I currently go through this. Reading this made my jaw drop because you are exactly how I am. I am in love with this girl and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Women are just beautiful and so delicate. I know when a girl is hot, and not. I am mostly into watching hand-jobs and stuff, not gay anal. I would NEVER want to be in a relationship with another man though. Kissing another man would make me gag. I would never want to have sex with a man in the ass but blow-jobs and hand-jobs would be great. Also, while masturbating I think of guys mostly and feel gay but after I ejaculate, homosexuality disgusts me and I always think "why the hell am I thinking this way". I have done my research into this and heres what I came up with.

Around 7th and 8th grade I would always jack-off with a male friend. It turned into hand-jobs also (jerk circle styled). At that point in time, I never had sexual relations with a girl. I had a girl friend who I wanted badly but I never did anything sexual with a girl. So maybe I feel this way because the first sexual encounter I had was a male and I always go back to it? Not sure. I don't want to be gay and would be humiliated if I was. Although I am NOT homophobic and I am for gay marriage, its just not my thing. Someone please help us as to why we feel this way.

by Anonymousreply 179December 22, 2016 4:00 AM

I think there are a coupe of things missing in the comments I've read: first of all, this may not simply be a phase. I am a bit older and still prefer gay porn (goes in phases). I am HAPPILY married and would never be in a relationship with a man. I have no attraction towards men in an ”intimate” way at all. However porn and masturbation is very different from sex and intimacy. It's more primal and fantasy is involved. I too am not into watching men kiss, and definitely not anal, but do find it very erotic watching males masturbate, ha****b, etc. There are 2 main reasons for this being completely normal: first, all males masturbate themselves, and it is always our first sexual experience of pleasure (self discovery if you will). It is also natural for young boys/teens to experiment with their male friends. Consequently, it makes perfect sense that watching male genitals would be arousing! it is basically hard wired for us. It's very relatable. We associate or own genitals with pleasure during masturbation, therefore we associate, male genitals with pleasure. In fact, you'll find that in your encounters with women, that many females are not so wildly attracted to penises. They find them strange :). But they are turned on by men, male sexuality, and they idea of sex and intimacy with a man. I think men are the same way about women to a degree but don't really talk about it. For example, on the surface, vaginas are kind of strange/unattractive and definately intimidating when you are inexperienced :), but I love them. I love giving pleasure to a woman, and being intimate. This is the diifference between fantasy and reality, erotica and lifestyle. Secondly, human sexuality is not completely black and white many things are quite ”normal” in western culture, this is a negative thing to talk about and it shouldn't be. We are so scared of not being seen as masculine. It's pretty dumb actually! as young men you are obssesed with how you are perceived and it is seen as a nagative to be attracted to males. I get it! But as you get older you will become more comfortable with yourself, your place in this world on all matters, not just sex. Maybe there are people on this forum who will become gay or bisexual...more power to you!, it's all part of normal human behavior. It's really too bad there is still a negative stigma to it. We are getting better, but we need marriage equality and rights for ALL people. An interesting double standard: why is it seen as hot, for women to be attracted to other women...this is even a fantasy for men (I definitely have fantasized about having 2 women in my bed); a woman can proudly announce that she is attracted to other women, are has even fooled around with women, and that's it's perfectly acceptable, and even exciting!, why if it not the same for males (because of our culture), but hey I know they are some women who fantasize about having 2 men in bed. So everyone relax be honest with yourself and your partners and enjoy

Porn is where all fantasies and fetishes should feel free to flourish. So I find nothing questionable with how many straight men recently confessed to watching gay porn on this Reddit thread, which asked, “Do any straight guys watch gay porn as a fetish rather than an aspect of your sexual orientation?”

After all, straight men fantasize all the time about lesbian sex. Straight women are the main consumers of erotic man-on-man fan fiction and remember how in The Kids Are All Right, the lesbian couple played by Julianne Moore and Annette Bening got off on gay porn? Kinsey was right: sexuality is that fluid. Straight guys have just been programmed into thinking sexual strictness is more acceptably masculine.

If two straight guys can fall in love, then I see no reason why straight dudes can pass the time watching others guys getting off. Here’s what these straight guys had to say about their taboo-breaking pornhub habits and why they love gay porn.

Far less messy blowjobs:

I don’t like watching sloppy, gaggy blow jobs and on the whole gay porn has much cleaner bj’s at least from what I’ve seen… I don’t like twinks or super swolen dudes. I generally watch college vids, hazing type deals, straight for pay, nothing with kissing/caressing. Just the sex please. I’ve never had any inclination for a male outside of gay porn, I like many other guys here were totally grossed out by it and it became this taboo in my mind and then I decided to just watch one and saw that it really wasn’t so bad. I’m sort of a voyeur in that regard and just like watching gay, straight, trans, whatever.

Bisexual men were markedly less interested in viewing sexually explicit material involving bondage and kink (13.7 percent) than their straight (24.6 percent) or gay (27.9 percent) peers — unless that kink involved fisting, felching, or water sports, all activities gay men were far more likely to report watching.

Internet porn allows people to 'explore their sexuality' with very few risks, so I don't see why anyone would be surprised. I would be more interested if someone did a larger study, and included not just straight-identified men, women, gay men and lesbians, and self-identified bisexuals as well, to see what their porn viewing consists of. I'm totally a gay man, but I occasionally watch some straight porn now and then, mainly when the guy (someone like Sean Michaels) is showing unbridled passion (which I don't see too much in straight porn). Nothing turns me on more in gay porn than seeing two guys really kissing and showing affection, which is apparently a boner-killer for the straight guys who watch gay porn. So men having sex with other men doesn't necessarily scratch the same itch in a gay guy as it does for a straight guy: if you're a lucky gay guy, it satisfies both the physical AND the emotional.

I've had sex with some men who do not identify as gay or bisexual. Generalizations:

1. Most men are obsessed with dicks, especially theirs, but also sometimes yours. There is a curiosity in comparison of size, form, and even function. It's not just that it's taboo, though I think that can add some fuel in many instances; instead, it's really a focus on the penis, but not so much the guy attached to it.

2. Some men are really into domination, and they get off with someone who indulges them, sometimes in ways that many women (and many bi/gay men) would find unappealing or even repellent. They might prefer women, but they recognize men as being able to fulfill the role that they need to balance the one they prize for themselves.

I've noticed this in actual experience and in passing conversations about or shared viewing of pornography.

People are complicated sexual beings. I think online communication and ubiquitous porn has made that more clear than ever.

by Anonymousreply 198February 14, 2017 10:00 PM

There goes the "most men are obsessed with dicks" troll again. Uh no dude.

by Anonymousreply 199February 14, 2017 11:27 PM

I keep seeing this ridiculous thread show up.

There's something wrong with the survey, maybe it included girl-on-girl porn in its definition of "gay porn." Maybe they only sampled hardcore porn addicts

Because even if it were true, there's no way that many straight guys would tell some random survey "yeah, I watch gay porn."

by Anonymousreply 200February 15, 2017 12:50 AM

Straight porn was the only porn available to me in my youth. I don't think I saw gay porn until I was over twenty. The perils of the pre-internet age.

I guess now I watch it if the guy gets me off. It always kind of reminds me of the slim pickings of yesteryear, though.

by Anonymousreply 201February 15, 2017 1:12 AM

r199, yes, most men are crazy about their own dicks, but also crazy to figure out how they compare to other dicks.

That doesn't make them gay - or straight.

by Anonymousreply 202February 15, 2017 1:14 AM
it's really a focus on the penis, but not so much the guy attached to it.

I had a conversation with my straight best friend like this once. Long story short, about 10 years ago we were drinking and we got so close to fooling around, at his instigation, he was in nothing but boxers before he got cold feet.

It was for the best. He told me later that night that if it ever happened it would have to be with a guy he barely knew and preferably wouldn't see again. Just something strictly about the sex and dealing with another dick, not about the guy himself.

If he ever tried it later, he never told me. My feeling on the whole is that he never did.

by Anonymousreply 203February 15, 2017 2:07 AM

Gay but have watched *lesbian* porn when I feel decadent.

So why can't everyone just calm down on topics like this?

by Anonymousreply 204February 15, 2017 4:53 AM

I've watched it with my straight bros before. They laughed

by Anonymousreply 205May 5, 2017 1:54 PM

My straight bro was fascinated to discover black and Latin thug porn. He wasn't sexually turned on it, but he was interested in how macho and manly a lot of the performers in thug porn are.

by Anonymousreply 206May 5, 2017 3:27 PM

Gay porn has a lot of sub-genres.

I wonder which are more popular with the straight male viewers.

by Anonymousreply 207May 5, 2017 10:29 PM

Thug porn and pretty boy porn are most alluring to straight bros

by Anonymousreply 208May 5, 2017 10:33 PM

The guys on /r/TotallyStraight (bi-curious subreddit) seem pretty much evenly split between liking bro porn (Sean Cody, CF, etc.) or twink porn. Not so much leather/pig/subculture-type stuff.

by Anonymousreply 209May 5, 2017 10:44 PM

It really fascinates straight dudes to see masculine mainstream bro types getting down with other dudes

by Anonymousreply 210May 5, 2017 10:56 PM

sounds so hot

by Anonymousreply 211May 8, 2017 3:21 PM

I wonder if they are more likely to watch bi porn than gay porn

by Anonymousreply 212May 12, 2017 10:45 AM

Hmmmm

by Anonymousreply 213June 17, 2017 1:45 PM

love it

by Anonymousreply 214June 17, 2017 4:54 PM

by Anonymousreply 215June 23, 2017 1:36 PM

Did the study include Instagram as gay pron?

by Anonymousreply 216June 23, 2017 2:49 PM

Instagram is dude4dude aesthetics, not "gay" porn. Never call it "gay," man. That will scare dudes away.

by Anonymousreply 217June 23, 2017 2:50 PM

A couple of my straight buds watch bi porn. One watches thug porn.

by Anonymousreply 219March 31, 2018 2:27 PM

Love this

by Anonymousreply 220February 7, 2019 11:07 AM

Is it really guy on guy porn or tranny porn? I once looked at my straight uncle’s history on his computer after he used it and it was a bunch of tranny porn (of them getting gangbanged) freaked me out.

by Anonymousreply 221February 7, 2019 11:15 AM

I once saw a story on television regarding a psychology study involving images. They could pinpoint exactly where subjects focused when looking at a picture of another person. Women looked at the eyes. If the image was an attractive athlete, men looked at the crotch first, then the face. It was explained that men have a primal competitiveness. I think guys appreciate a hot guy.

by Anonymousreply 222February 7, 2019 11:33 AM

Gay porn in most cases these days is either so over-produced and boring or full of trashy looking guys who look like they're probably major drug addicts. The guys have no idea how to make it look like they're actually enjoying what they're doing. They say the words, they do the moves, but the lust and passion just isn't there.

In my opinion it's a lot easier to find guys in straight porn who make it obvious they're having a ball, no pun intended. You can feel the heat coming off many of them. Randy Spears was a sight to behold, but the last 20 years or so of his career when he aged out of that young pretty boy look he was magnificent. The way he could make a woman squeal with delight with his tongue was a wonder, and dear God he was one sexy beast to look at.

by Anonymousreply 223February 7, 2019 12:00 PM

R223, could you name a performer that is hot now?

by Anonymousreply 224February 7, 2019 12:04 PM

R223 old gay porn was boring and over produced also

by Anonymousreply 225February 7, 2019 12:05 PM

Plenty of guys in gay porn today LOOK hot, but don't know how to PERFORM hot.

Porn in the 80's was not overproduced anywhere near to what the big studios today put out. And the guys back then usually showed they were having fun.

by Anonymousreply 226February 7, 2019 12:56 PM

TATTOOS! Twas tattoos that ruined gay porn.

by Anonymousreply 227February 7, 2019 12:57 PM

I caught one of my straights watching gay porn by going into my browser history. He mainly watched straight porns but he went to a male thug porn site too

by Anonymousreply 228February 7, 2019 1:02 PM

I meant “one of my straight bros.”

by Anonymousreply 229February 7, 2019 1:04 PM

Yeah 80s porn was even more overproduced. You never saw Natural no-hands cum shots way back then. Not into the internet did Natural cumming become a thing.

by Anonymousreply 230February 7, 2019 1:20 PM

What the fuck is “natural” about a no-hands cum shot??? Are other cum shots somehow unnatural?

by Anonymousreply 231February 7, 2019 1:23 PM

If you need hands to cum during sex with another person, you’re doing it wrong

by Anonymousreply 232February 7, 2019 1:26 PM

Bump

by Anonymousreply 234April 24, 2019 3:31 PM

1 in 4 is bullshit. Most straight guys don't watch gay porn I would bet most of those so called straight guys are not straight. They watch straight and lesbian porn especially two chicks touching eachother. Most straight guys I know browse for naked chicks it can be very explicit. This is all propaganda bullshit to make it seems like straight men are secretly gay. The media has been pushing this pc narrative for a while.
