People like Ann Coulter and Milo Y. do not process humiliation the same way others do. In her mind she WAS the center of attention. As long as you hurl insults at her you prove to her that she matters and that she still got it (to get under people's skin, push their buttons, etc.). She's like one of those bratty girls who wear their white Sunday dresses, throw themselves into the nearest mudpit and then gets off on all the attention she gets from the grown-ups (scolding her, hovering over her, pity her, trying to change into new clothes, etc.).
