What's it like?
Has any of you queens been to a gay camp ground in Pennsylvania called The Woods?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 23, 2020 6:47 PM |
Is that the place where they run around naked and have gay orgies out in the open? No, but I've seen pictures. STD heaven.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 18, 2016 5:35 PM |
No.
But I know friends that have.
Bear country. Campy activities (there was a gay men's chorus performing when my friend was up there)
As R1 said ............. a lot of nekkidness ................ I don't want to be seen naked (in the woods no less) and I'm sure I don't want to see many of the camping bears naked either.
By the way --- about a year or so ago, this was the place where that naked man disappeared for like three or four days.
Have fun, OP !!

If you go down to the woods today you're sure of a big surprise! If you go down to the woods today you'd better go in disguise!
A lovely time today. Watch them, catch them unawares, and see them frolic on their holiday.
For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain. See them gaily dance about; they love to play and shout; they never have any care.
If you go down to the woods today you'd better not go alone! It's lovely down in the woods today but safer to stay at home!

I love the naked except for an apron on while barbecuing look.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 18, 2016 5:49 PM |
No it's not naked. It's actually co-ed. I was there a few years back and it's fun. A mix of people and they have a large pool, snack bar and camp store. You can rough it in tents or bring your RV or even rent a cabin. The place was not very well managed and the check-in process was a nightmare, but I went up on a Friday so it was particularly busy.
R1 you're thinking of Hillside Campground just over the PA border near Binghamton, NY. The Woods Campground is just outside of Allentown, PA.

I went once, it was fun. It was nice sitting by the pool and relaxing and whenever I wanted I went into the woods and got off, but I'm hot.

I'm 49, an age where for most gay men, I'd be considered older. I'm also in good physical shape. Neat thing is next year when I turn 50, I'll be old enough to go to the Woods. Just have to grow some scruff and stop working out. Ain't that grand ?

R7, I've been there and there were a number of 20s/30s guys.

A friend of mine wanted to try out one of these campgrounds last summer, so we wound up at Camp Davis in Boyers, PA...nearer to Pittsburgh.
We rented a cabin (make sure to bring a few electric fans...the are seriously wooden boxes with no ventilation) It wasn't expensive at all for Friday day to Sunday afternoon, but I think we had to buy a $12 membership card.
I was nervous about it at first, but then I sort of got into it....hanging around the pool naked and just walking around hanging out. There was a communal shower where there was a no sex allowed policy that I know got broken. We took a cooler with a ton of food, but the guys who live there in trailers were all really cool and invited us over to hang out and eat a lot. It was actually really nice. There is a trail where people go for sex, and yeah, I walked through a few times and had a little fun.
All in all....I was rolling my eyes about it the whole way there, but I wound up having a really good time.
Too far from me to go back to often though.

R9 that sums up my experience at The Woods. I thought it was so sad and pathetic, but when I got there it was really nice being with gay men outdoors just hanging out.

The clothing optional campground in Pennsylvania is Hillside. It is all-male (they have a sign in the office to the effect of they reserve the right to check) and yes, sex stuff happens out in the open. It is not, however, "orgies." Usually just a few guys here and there; you might see a blowjob or three while hiking but it is not a free for all and I've never felt any unwanted sexual aggression. Most of the guys are really very friendly and normal. At nights there is a bonfire at the rec center and things get a little more crazy, but most of it happens in the dark area behind the rec center. The crowd skews older (40+) and bearish, but all types are represented. Plenty of hot guys and many above-average, approachable ones. It is at least 50% daddy bears, however.
It's important to stress the distinction between clothing optional and nudist; Hillside is clothing optional. Most guys aren't even naked. It's mostly regular guys camping, with maybe 5-10% hardcore nudists and another 10-20% who wear underwear/jockstraps/gear, or go pantless with a shirt, or some other variation of incomplete nudity/sex wear. Most guys are dressed most of the time, and many only indulge their exhibitionism at night. You are never out of place wearing a tshirt and shorts, although you might feel overdressed once you're there.
I am not a nudist and would never go to a nudist resort, but when I go to Hillside I swim naked (soooooo awesome) and indulge my exhibitionist side by not wearing pants or just wearing underwear. It's very much a do your own thing atmosphere. No one judges.
I'm curious to go to The Woods but I honestly like the all-male, pro-perv vibe at Hillside. Camping with lesbians and a regular dress code might be okay but not the same.

The Woods is clothing optional, and maybe women are welcome, but I've rarely seen more than a handful. And they have a shed everyone fucks in so it's definitely pro-perv.

Melissa Etheridge went to The Woods a few years back. She tweeted about it and said she had fun.

R8, you're also the OP, so if you've been there, why did you start the thread? Weird.
Also, if you did start the thread just to talk about your experiences (which you could have just been upfront about from the start), why not tell us about this fuck shed you mention in R13? Oh and everything else you know about the place. You posted elsewhere in the thread but haven't been very forthcoming about anything.
You know, I think it's ok to benevolently sock puppet a thread to get a discussion going, but you should learn to do it better. Post from different devices and make one the "OP" and the other the "insider full of info."
Sloppy trolling.

I've been and it's terrible.

Hi OP @ R16! So now you're impersonating me? You are quite strange.
Is this your first time on DL?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 18, 2016 8:53 PM |
R18 give it up... nobody cares

It sounds like it could be the theme for season 6 of AHS.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 18, 2016 8:57 PM |
R19 = weirdo OP taking R15's advice.
Why start a thread asking about a place you pretend to have never been and then start replying to it with answers stating you've been there?
OP sounds like a shill.

Is the complainer here a manager from another crappy campground?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 18, 2016 9:04 PM |
Hillside looks like fun; regular gays having fun and dressing up silly.
I'm sure that none of you are any better, physically, but clearly too uptight to go camping and meet new people.

Has I ever!

Nasty, gross, "natural" mos. Expect a minimum of hygiene. Lots of crotchfunk and overall nastiness. Went there with some friends about ten years ago. Once was enough. I wanted to leave early but I wasn't driving.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 9, 2016 9:03 PM |
So by "camp ground" you mean basically an outdoor bathhouse right?

[quote]Camp Davis does not accept debit or credit cards. You may pay with cash, money order or check with a valid ID.
Is this business stuck in 1962?

I went to Camp David once and Trump was walking the trails in his mankini.
