Has anyone seen the documentary about competitive tickling?
The Documentary Tickled

I saw it last night. HERE BE SPOILERS:
While undoubteldy a a crazy story, it's ultimately a documentary about a rather unsavory but very wealthy old perv. Although did some pretty despicable things (some criminal, for which he was jailed), it's pretty much the sad story of a closet case who clearly has issues, who happens to get off on pretty specific porn which he has the luxury of being able to elaborately finance himself. (And generously so, I might add, and not particularly exploitative within the context of the porn industry). I've always thought that if I ever became rich beyond my wildest dreams, that's what I'd probably do with some of the money, too.
And I felt a bit sorry for him, and I'm not quite sure what the documentary makers were hoping to reveal and the witch-hunt feels cruel and unnecessary. It's also very titilatory while also being willfully oblivious to the fact that sexuality and pornography is complicated and multifaceted, feigning surprise that people can be turned on by unconventional things.
And while I hate to use the phrase, there's an implied shaming and ridiculing or kink. One of the makers is straight and we see him with his wife and kid, and it also noted that the other director is gay and with a partner although it is never shown. It's values are very normative, despite its subject matter, and I guess I was expecting and bit more complexity and less pearl-clutching from a gay filmmaker.
None of my friends have seen it, and I can't see anything that chimes with this online. I'm curious if anybody else here has seen it since OP's post and would like to share...

Yes ............ a friend and I saw it about two months ago.
Interesting story .................SPOILERS .................. very weird rich guy with too much money. My friend and I agreed. We'd want more than clothed tickling if we were going to spend all of that money. HA HA HA.

Harrier is bisexual and single r3
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 17, 2016 7:13 AM |
r6, he's cute.

The guy behind it all outed those guys to their families when they tried to quit working for his company so he's far from a harmless eccentric with a fetish.

I saw it and it is very good and very creepy.

I'm super interested in the film. R6 said Harrier, but I think his last name is Farrier. I remember him from Rhys Darby's Short Poppies and thinking he was adorable there. He's cute and reminds me of Louis Theroux.

I saw it about halfway through but then stopped it, I'll revisit it at a later date. I thought it started so strong but by the time it got to him interviewing the models I thought it had lost some steam. I checked out around the time the guy was strapped in the chair being tickled, it went on far too long and veered into exploitation itself.
r6, if he's bi why the heck is he saying he's gay in the film, I hate when bi guys do that.

Yes, I've seen the film and r3 is completely off-base.
David D'Amato is a tremendously powerful criminal and internet troll who defamed and blackmailed porn stars into having relationships with him, defrauded all his professional colleagues, threatened and blackmailed the media for reporting on him, and sabotaged university computer systems in order to force young males into pornographic relationships. He was convicted and sent to jail for some of the crimes.
If "that's probably what r3 would do with some of the money, too," then r3 is a sick, evil fuck.
If r3 thinks calling and e-mailing pornographic pictures and libel to the friends and family of guys he recruited who quit is "not particularly exploitative within the context of the porn industry," then r3 doesn't know the porn industry.
Still "not quite sure what the documentary makers were hoping to reveal?" Then there's no need to inform the public of crime, investigate it or punish it, much less poor professional ethics. Why would ANYONE do that?
Why is the media singling out this poor, innocent gay man who happens to be a ruthless, criminal predator hiding behind the internet? The media NEVER reports on straight people's crimes!!!
[quote]The witch-hunt feels cruel and unnecessary.
But e-mailing shots of a gay-for-pay guy getting fucked in the ass and accusing him of crimes and gayness to all his friends, family, teachers and schoolmates was "kind and essential."
[quote]I've always thought that if I ever became rich beyond my wildest dreams, that's what I'd probably do with some of the money, too.
Unbelievable.

Thanks for the insight, R12. R3 clearly has issues. Definitely gonna find the documentary.

I thought the pathology was pretty interesting, didn't his step mom say that jock types would harass him and put him in lockers? So what better revenge than having jock guys tied up and losing control and then ridiculing them?

I just watched this documentary. Apparently, a few weeks after the film's premier, the subject/villain, David D'Amato, died suddenly.

David D'Amato may have died, but he is still suing people from beyond the grave and the tickling recruitment and subsequent harassment continues under the care of one of his former associates ....

So I guess R3 was not actually David D’Amato. Because that was gonna be my guess until I got to the end of this thread. How anyone could watch that documentary and think it was too hard on him is beyond me... unless the person were working on behalf of David, or were David himself.
Sorry for bumping this old thread. Just watched the movie on Amazon the other night and was kind of blown away by the story. I was also blown away by how careless the filmmakers were with the subtitles they frequently employ in scenes where the dialogue might not be clear enough. Yikes, proofread that shit before you show it to the world.

R17 Thanks for bumping the thread. I just read about it in a different forum and plan on watching it this weekend. I probably would have started a new thread...

Tickling is sadistic in my opinion.

I love tickling porn but I wish more of it included boners, if not hardcore fucking. I’m also really into “college boy physicals” and “jock physicals”. Anything where a non-sexual activity that involves physical contact between two men turns sexual unexpectedly. There is nothing hotter, on screen or in real life.
D’Amato’s videos seem like they would just frustrate me. “Come on, take his DICK out!”

I loved this documentary. The follow-up posted on YouTube is a must see AFTER you watch the documentary.
