The Rialto Report: Porn Lies
Thanks to those guys in the classic porn threads I found this. I really wanted to hear the stories about some of the guys who did the hot porn. (I hate the modern stuff)
George Payne who did both gay and straight now claims he had a stunt butt.
Rick Savage claims that the double penetration on Grafenburg spot...he could not even feel, total bullshit Harry Reems cock is rubbing against him. Also they have their cocks together as they get sucked.
All of these guys are a little bit bi, but want to re-write history. Dudes...we can see the films.

I think that time erodes most peoples memories as well and George was a notorious coke head at that time. In fact that destroyed his relationship with Vanessa del Rio (he stole from her). I think George was being honest about the stunt butt thing (although he does try and downplay his career in gay porn somewhat). I've heard it was the late David Morris (who claimed to have gotten 10 grand for that shoot - haha right) that stunted for George in Centurians of Rome where he bottoms. The ass didn't look like George's - it wasn't as hairy as his, it was fuller and rounder and it's done in a close angle. George didn't have much of an ass at that point. That shoot was a nightmare, everyone was coked out of their minds and porn director Carter Stevens said it was hell for him to try to edit it into a decent movie.
The biggest BS interview on that site was from Sharon Mitchell. She lies a lot and like to twist stuff around to make herself look better. I think she might actually believe a lot it as being true though.
The Hyapatia Lee one was a close second. Her trying to lie about trying to fake her death and bilk her fans was amusing though.

I saw him get fucked full body in gay loops, so why in one film would he need a stunt butt?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 5, 2016 10:49 AM

I didn't think he ever bottomed, only topped in the other gay porn he did. Those loops and scenes were definitely not faked. I would've liked to seen him bottom though, he was very hot back in the 70s.
For what it's worth, I think he's bi and never really accepted it. Straight Porn Director Shaun Costello realized this, and would put him in scenes with multiple guys in it. You can see him checking out David Ruby and another muscle guy in his scene in the movie Hot Dreams.

He did bottom in some loops. I always thought he was one of the many gay men in straight porn like Jamie Gillis.
I am listening to the Jerry Butler interview now...so uncensored. Very fun.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 5, 2016 11:12 AM

Jerry is defiantly a character. He names some names that he didn't in his book but didn't go into detail like he did in his book on some things. One of times he "indulged" with another man was with theatrical agent Michael Hartig (who was a lover of Jamie Gillis). He let Hartig suck him off and then he reciprocated. But it didn't help his legit career out, like he hoped it would.
He also finally named Phil Carey as one of the actors trying to fuck him when he worked on One Life To Live as a day player. Like Hartig, Carey had already died before the interview took place so he finally felt safe naming names with worrying about possibly being sued by them.

Where did George Payne deny it? I listened to the Rialto Report podcast and he never said anything like that. And the point was to hire performers that could perform. These shoots didn't t have the money to double cast. No one would hire an actor that didn't want to do it. Ridiculous thought. Even when Eric Edwards, who never did a straight scene was asked if he had a double in a scene where he took a strap on, he almost sounded offended and said no he did it because the girl turned him on so much.

R6 He admitted he didn't do the bottoming scene in Centurians of Rome where his character is anally raped. It's discussed right before the 15 minute mark. Like I said earlier, others have said it was David Morris who was the stunt butt in the movie.
They didn't like doing stunt doubling if at all possible, but it did happen sometimes if actors refused to do certain things and they didn't have any other choice.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 5, 2016 12:08 PM

Peter North tried denying he did gay porn period. He once tried claiming he only did solo stuff. Then later tried to claim the gay sex acts he did was done with camera trickery. BS of course because. Director William Higgins claimed in an interview that North actually provided his eager ass to stunt for other stars who wouldn't do anal.
He got very angry when people would bring up his past in gay porn.

Sad that Jerry Butler died since this thread was started. Johnnie Keyes and Jennifer Welles also died this year.
Sharon Mitchell had some type of health crisis earlier this year too, but pulled through. George Payne has been said no to be in the best of health lately and has been struggling finacially since his wife became ill of and cancer and later died of cancer late last year. R. Bolla is not well at all either.
Shame so many are struggling when other people are still making money off of them decades later.

R28 I believe he first tried to claim he only did solo stuff but when confronted that he was fucked by men (and also fucked some too) he tried claiming it was faked by the filmakers. Not to mention there is video and photo with his face in plain view of him being fucked. He gets angry and defensive when his gay porn work is brought up and avoids talking about it whenever possible.
Supposedly William Higgins claimed he continued to "stunt butted" for guys who didn't want to bottom for a while after moved over into straight porn.

Paul and Jamie weren't gay. The had sex with men off camera sometimes, pre-AIDS days anyway, but they both heavily leaning straight bisexuals. Both had big sex drives and were down for all kinds of varied sex acts and partners.
There were some that were gay like Wade Nichols, Marc Stevens, and Zebedy Colt that only had sex with women on camera for money.

He didn't deny that. Just that he never got fucked up the ass. I don't he's in denial to the degree Peter North is. In past interviews he's said good things about Casey Donovan and Jack Wrangler, so he's not that hung up about that gay part of his career.
Jeff Stryker admitted it wasn't him doing the fucking his first few movies because he couldn't get it up. The close-up, tight shots are a big giveaway.

George Payne is lying.
For some reason, it's important for you to vehemently deny that George Payne ever had a cock us his ass on film, as well as perpetuate his virgin butt status in post after post for several months.

R38 Doesn't change what I think about him (or anyone else) if he did or not. Did I ever say taking it up the ass was a bad thing? Nope.
He said he didn't and I believe him about that. That didn't look like his ass in Centurians of Rome and it's been said David Morris stunted for him. George had a small muscle ass and the person bottoming had a hairer, fuller bubble ass. Morris bottomed in CoR and some of his other bi and gay porn, so that makes it even more likely it's him. And a big name star like George bottoming for the first time, why all the darkly shot, tight close-ups? They only shots showing his face in view are above the ass and the guy is up to high during those shots to be fucking him. And they'd surely get full shots with face for the movie and stills for promotion in the magazines. And that movie was highly promoted. Forget the logic of it.
Just watch the scene 35 mins in,

I know Eric Edwards and I've never found him to be homophobic; in fact, he appreciates his gay fans. He has nothing but great things to say about George Payne, including the fact that it was well-known that George was bisexual. Same with Peter North, who Edwards directed in a few films in the 80s. The only thing he ever said about North was that he wasn't a great actor, but nobody could deliver a cumshot like him, and he could always be relied upon to "give it his all" in that department, so that's why Edwards hired him.
He did not, however, know that Paul Thomas swung both ways. I sent him the link to Thomas' 70s porn loop, and Eric was fascinated by it. He said he was surprised at how much Thomas got into it!
Oh, and as a side note - in the 90s, as Edwards' career was winding down, he worked for a while as an editor for Catalina. He told me he always thought gay porn was much more passionate than straight porn, and in fact, he wrote and directed a few straight porn videos that he tried to model on the Catalina style.
And here's Paul Thomas' gay loop - "Nature's Man."

I always found it funny that so many people insist that gay for pay doesn't exist in any shape or form. People have killed other people for much less than what they'd get for a porn scene. Heaven forbid they have sex with a person (or entire sex) they're not attracted to.
However with that said, I think that of the performers that claim to be G4P are bisexial (some probably even totally gay). Many do it for marketing purposes as well. Thinking it makes them more desirable and be able to get higher scene rates. There are certainly some G4P performers looking like they rather be anywhere else. I'd rather watch paint dry than watch another Cody Cummings video.

R6 Eric Edwards' friend here again. About that strap-on scene - he told me he did for two reasons:
1) He really was turned on by the two girls in the scene, which made him more willing to do it
2) He got to film the scene in his own bed in his apartment in New York City. It was a bed he made himself, and doing the scene in that bed made him more comfortable.

There's a scene in the 1975 movie "Every Inch a Lady" where Jamie Gillis and Harry Reems are fucking a woman and Jamie starts to get a little handsy on Harry's butt. Then he gets up, grabs some anal beads, and sticks 'em up Harry's ass while Harry's fucking the girl. Kind of odd, verging on bisexual, and kind of hot, too, in a 1970s cheesy way.
The weirdness starts at about the 32-minute mark.

Old Porn stars are desperate for money. I went to one of those autograph shows with a friend and Marilyn Chambers was there signing books (she wrote a book). I went so I could take pictures for my friend. We waited in line. When we got to the front, he bought her book, paid extra to have it signed and take a picture with her. She looks at me and said, "aren't you going t buy a book" I smiled and said, "no I am just here to take pictures for him." She said, "no picture unless you buy a book." I said, "I don't want a picture." She said, "I mean for him." At that point, the whole line started giving her shit. I've tried to talk him into doing the autograph shows, but the travel/hotel expense vs. what he could expect to get for the autographs has him a little reticent to do them. It'd be nice if the promoters of these events could help foot the travel bill for him. I know he'd love it. He still has a ton of fans out there.
There's talk of a special screening of 1984's "Firestorm" in New York, and if it pans out, they'll fly him out to make an appearance and do an interview at the screening. He's very excited about that possibility.

Eric should do the conventions. The bigger named surviving Golden Age porn actors could supplement their income with appearances. Quite a bit of them are struggling finically. But the traveling to the various locations can take a big chunk of the money they make.
Some people encouraged Jennifer Welles to do conventions, but she didn't. She had enough name value to make some decent money. Perhaps she didn't want to people to see an elderly version of herself. She struggled with money for years before she died. The police in her town harassed her over her animals, which probably stressed her out a lot because she loved her pets. It might have even contributed to her death.

R95 Yes, a lot of the "golden age" stars are struggling financially, Eric included. It's a shame most weren't able to profit off the box office and sales of all the movies they appeared in.
If I could get Eric to go to even one show, I bet he'd be hooked, though. He did a "golden age" reunion event back in 2017, and the crowd went crazy for him. He was on cloud nine for weeks afterward.

Eric Edwards is probably the most likeable of the classic porn stars, especially because he was so handsome in his movies. He should definitely write a memoir and hopefully get someone to make a movie or a tv show about his career. People love the 70s porn industry since it all seemed so innocent.

I'm a big fan of the Rialto Report and an avid reader of everything they report on. Mentioned above already is how many of 'the golden age of porn' actors have had major money problems as they've aged. One story they reported on recently was that of Levi Richards (real name Rick Livert).
It seems after porn, he did quite well working in real estate for a time. However. eventually things really went south. At age 71, he got behind on payments for his Manhattan apartment and the city Marshall's arrived to evict him. As they drilled his door to gain entrance, he committed suicide in the bedroom with a gunshot to his head.
His body was not claimed by anybody so his corpse ended up in a mass gave at Hart Island, the city's potter's field located in the Bronx.

R99 Lots of porn stars seem to get into real estate.
Levi Richards ending was sad. He did well for some time though. I don't know how much he was in debt at the time of his death, but he probably could've moved outside of NYC somewhere and gotten by. But he seemed to have problems with depression and might have been a drinker too since they noted he got drunk while they interviewed him. He was one of male stars that could never find a long term partner despite being good looking and was successful for some time. It's seems like he was probably major loner. He apparently didn't have much (if any) of a relationship with his brother.

R98 Yes, please. That might give him a little motivation!
Eric had a pretty good life until he married that fucked up bitch porn star Rene Summers. She and her fellow drug addict boyfriend burned down his house, then literally disappeared, leaving Eric to raise their two sons completely on his own. She's a born again Christian today, of course (eye roll).
Eric had a major problem with alcohol up until two years ago, when he nearly died after a particularly toxic binge. He's been sober since 2017.

Renee Summers was a big downgrade from his previous two lady loves, Chris Jordan and Arcadia Lake. Chris and Arcadia had some acting ability, intelligence and interests outside porn. Renee looked like pudgy, plain, white trash.
He did get two sons out of the relationship with Renee though. So it wasn't all bad or for nothing.

R103 Agreed. I asked him why the hell he ever married her; she wasn't at all his physical type, and like you said, she was just trashy. He said he really thought he loved her, but was probably more motivated by the fact that he was in his 40s, he wanted to have a family, and she was willing.
But she was a major drug addict who ultimately abandoned her family and ran off with another junkie. In recent years, she's reached out to Eric via social media, and out of love for his sons, he's never trashed her publicly and has been cordial to her. His oldest son, though, who was old enough to remember what a mess she was when he was a child, wants nothing to do with her. I don't blame him.
Arcadia Lake was really the love of his life. To this day, when he talks about her, he gets very sad.

Arcadia seemed to have some deep demons too though and decided give up on life to get back on drugs. She cared enough about Eric to leave him and not drag him down with her. It's a shame she couldn't beat them though because from what Eric said about her was that she was very intelligent and had a lot going for her. Makes me wonder what might have happened to her before they met.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | April 22, 2019 12:07 AM

R106 She had a rough childhood; likely molested by her father, who left the family when Arcadia was young. Eric once told me about the time her father came to New York to see her for the first time in years. They met at a restaurant, and the reunion was very cold. Eric didn't think she ever saw her father again after that.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | April 22, 2019 12:10 AM

From what I remember on the Rialto Report Eric contributed to about the ladies in his life, her father was somewhat wealthy and was married and had another family and had an affair with Arcadia's mother so she was born out of wedlock and he had little to do with her except a little bit early on in her life. Then later on Arcadia got involved in the rock music business behind the scenes and got hooked on heroin. She was still very young at that point, late teen and very early 20s.

You should inquire about the travel. Now, I have zero info, but from going to CHILLER for years I was lead to believe the entrance fee (this year between $35 & $40 per person just to walk in the door) was to help the celebs in travel. The hotel benefits from being sold out and all the food the guests would buy all weekend. I could be completely wrong but it can't hurt to ask.

The Chiller convention has moved away from horror in more recent years. They'll apparently take anyone semi famous that they think would help turn a profit for them. Eric is certainly more known than some of the people they've booked.
Veronica Hart and Georgina Spelvin have done some of the non-porn conventions although she has some horror and non porn credits, which helps.

R123 I'm pretty sure Arnaldo Santana is dead. He was in "Scarface," and he was unrecognizable from the hot little leather hunk in "Cruising," having packed on tons of weight. His last acting job was in 1984 in a Showtime series called "AKA Pablo" with Paul Rodriguez. In the opening credits of that show, he was even bigger. He shows up at about the :49 mark in the clip below.

Levi Richards was in the original short-lived (because the theater it was held in literally collapsed!) off-off Broadway version of the gay themed play Tubstrip. Does anyone can explain me why do gay men marry women?! It's intriguing to me. Being Gay just means being attracted to men, falling in love with men and not women.
As for women who accept this kind of situation, which means no sexual relations, well, I think they don't have dignity.

Wrangler and Whiting did claim they had sex. When she tripped on some loose pavement in NYC and broke a hip, he sued, claiming "loss of his wife's conjugal fellowship and championship." Keep in mind, Whiting was in her mid 70s at the time.
He always did proclaim to be gay, though. His first time having sex with a woman was during his first straight porn film in the late 70s.
I'd say their relationship was primarily a companionship relationship. They had a lot of mutual interests. Whiting got a handsome companion and Wrangler got some of his plays and cabaret shows off the ground and into production with her connections and got to mingle with the circles she was in. At her age, I doubt she wanted sex often, but he probably complied when she did.
And FWIW, I believe Whiting said at least one of her previous husbands was gay also.

He married Margaret Whiting because of their shared history of being born affluent in Beverly Hills, their shared values and shared interest in show business. He related to her better than anyone else he could keep and felt they were in the same class. He admitted the love of his life was a young, male costar? who left him.
Every man is different, so other gays and bisexuals have their own reasons.
We know it was not a beard or sham marriage . Wrangler and Whiting were always candid about Wrangler's gay orientation and Wrangler's career in a bunch of gay fuck flicks.

CENTURIANS OF ROME is entirely scored with music plundered from STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and FLASH GORDON, among others!

A lot of the porn movies back then lifted much from movie soundtracks. Some the infamous Avon movies (like The Taming of Rebecca) lifted some of John Carpenter's Halloween score. Waterpower and Pardora's Mirror had much from Taxi Driver and Carrie in it. That's just a few examples.
Plus even more library music was lifted. I highly doubt most bothered to license it.

Wow r181, I've never seen as clear a version before. I don't think that was Chuck's first time at bat.

I guess this thread might be the appropriate thread to report this sad news. Samantha Fox (no, not the british singer) passed away at her home on April 22 according to a friend on Facebook. DL doesn't seem to allow FB links anymore, so I'll copy and past her friends post.
[quote]My beautiful joyous kind and spiritual friend, Stasia Micula, died yesterday peacefully at home in her apartment in the East Village. She was a much loved and appreciated neighbor in our Cooper Square MHA community. She was also the famous "Samantha Fox" erotic-film superstar of the Seventies and Eighties. She was an angel on earth, and now in Heaven.

Hopefully The Rialto Report will do a tribute to her since she was no doubt one of the icons of the Golden Age of Porn. Don't know if she ever granted them an interview, but if she did will hopefully post it.

R188 That makes me said. Apparently, her death was COVID-19 related.

R190 Could be since she still lived in NYC, were COVID-19 is really bad.

Ashley West of The Rialto Report posted this on his Facebook page. He confirmed her death with her sister. Sounds like COVID-19 might have caused her heart problem to lead to death. Sad since she tried to live a healthy lifestyle after porn, she even worked as an aerobics instructor for a time.
"Such sad news. I just heard from Samantha Fox's sister this afternoon, who confirmed that Samantha passed away on April 22nd. Suspected cause was cardio-vascular illness with possible CV-19 complications.
Funeral and memorial service arrangements have been delayed due to the current lock-down in New York City. She will be sadly missed."

They put a tribute of sorts today. I guess she declined interview requests by them over the years since they didn't post a podcast.

R195 She came off well in that interview, but she can be a bitch on wheels a lot of the time. She turned a lot of people against her in the business for her attitude and goes off on fans sometimes for no reason.
I found it interesting they skipped over the Henri Pachard movie fundraiser debacle (he was dying of cancer), that she played a big part in it tanking. She was a total cunt on that set and wanted to be glory hound and get the big credit for it even though everyone on set was working for free.

They published an interesting interview with crossover porn star Randy Paul (in straight porn) aka Robert Harris (in gay porn).
He identifies was 70% straight and 30% bi. While he has no qualms admitting he enjoyed having sex with men, but only has relationships with women. He also talks about the stigma against the men who crossed over.
"I met Bill Margold at a party thrown by some guys from XRCO, and he told me I should sign with this agent called Reb Sawitz in addition to Jim South because it would increase my chances of getting work. When I went to meet Reb, he showed me his book of what he called ‘Jim’s Butt Boys’. That was his term for guys repped by Jim South who did gay as well as straight porn. He had people like Peter North and Marc Wallice in there. I thought to myself, “Oh shit, what if he finds out I’m a ‘butt boy’ too?”
On working with Jeff Styker:
"He was friendly enough, but also odd. There’s something off with that guy. I’m not a psychiatrist but it seems like he has narcissistic personality disorder or something. But the day I had sex with him, it was fine. I’d been drinking and doing cocaine the night before, and for some reason whenever I did that, I’d be horny as hell the next day. And Jeff had the attributes I needed to get off."
On stunt cocking/bottoming for Steve Hammond in Stryker Force:
"The movie was Stryker Force. And even though it starred Jeff and this guy Steve Hammond, Steve couldn’t do the sex scenes. So I acted as both stunt cock and stunt butt for Steve. I didn’t get the star billing but I got a lot of money. With all the re-shoots and the stunt sex work, I made well over $50k in total. That was way more than I’d ever earned for any sex film, ever. Matt Sterling thought I was a genius negotiator. He’d come to me and say, “How much do you need to stunt cock for this guy?” and I’d answer whatever you think is fair. And he thought I was playing hardball… but really, I just didn’t know what to ask for."
