Being an Eldergay who grew up in Southern California on the beach I heard Dude and Bro Brah a lot from the surfing culture. This is where it originated. You only used the terms of you were a true surfer and legitimately part of that culture. So for me hearing anyone else use them causes my eyes to roll at least in my mind. I know they are now mainstream terms and have been for over 25 years but still. This is one instance where I hate cultural misappropriation.
