Are you attracted to muscles?

I like fit and lightly muscled. I'm not a fan of overly muscled.

I'm trying to embrace my forthcoming eldergay. I've decided to acquire a houseboy who has to keep house and go to the gym to maintain his resale value.

I worked out on a regular basis in college and after, going from 190 to 240. That's when I realized I had the genetics to be a muscle freak. I got up to 294 when I got into powerlifting but have since gone back to bodybuilding and am now 261. Yeah, I like to be the biggest, strongest, most aggressive guy in the room.

by Anonymousreply 806/13/2016

Big muscles? No.

Lean and ripped? Yes.

by Anonymousreply 906/13/2016

bigger is better

Post is useless without pics.

by Anonymousreply 1106/13/2016

Sure. But nothing like the douches that are regularly posted here. Zac Efron or Jonathan Tucker are examples of muscular bodies that don't make me puke. Also they are not a must have because I'm in love with the Seth Rogens of the world.

by Anonymousreply 1206/13/2016

R8 - I want you. Now.

by Anonymousreply 1306/13/2016

Last week I saw a guy in a tank top exiting Equinox at Greenwich Avenue and 12th Street. He couldn't have been taller than 5'6" with biceps so large it looked like he had a medical condition. Is there a correct ratio of bicep size in relation to height?

by Anonymousreply 1406/13/2016

I vote for fit-fat.

by Anonymousreply 1506/13/2016

Tall muscle guys or bodybuilders look best, especially over 6'2".

by Anonymousreply 2108/28/2016

I thought I was, but some of the overly muscled roided out freaks that are praised here made me realize I am not as big of fan of muscles as I thought.

Its sexy when it still looks natural, not when a guy gets cartoonishly huge.

by Anonymousreply 2208/28/2016

Yes, I am. I'm 27. 6'2" and 226 muscled guy. I have had to start dating guys 10+ years old than me because so many guys i meet around my age don't have a job, can't afford their own apartment, are inmature, have boy bodies, and have no interests in going to the gym, going to sporting events, and so on. Yeah, muscles are great but it has to be part of the total package.

by Anonymousreply 2309/23/2016

Nothing is worse than seeing a short guy with biceps so big he can't scratch is back.

by Anonymousreply 2409/23/2016

Nothing turns me on like seeing developed muscle with a thin layer of fat over it.

by Anonymousreply 2809/23/2016

fit fat for me. a guy who built but gone to seed

by Anonymousreply 2909/23/2016

Swimmers are too small and undeveloped for me. Fitness models and football running backs are my type

by Anonymousreply 3009/23/2016

I like a swimmer's build or a fit baseball player, but I also think it depends a bit on the person's natural build. On some people the bigger muscle look fits their body type more and can be quite hot. I do think that you can cross the line no matter the build and start to look like a caricature and over-developed. It is good to work out and stay in shape, but don't care for the look when it appears you live on protein shakes, supplements, and are at the gym 8 hours a day.

by Anonymousreply 3109/23/2016

Fit, very noticeable abs and biceps with a thin layer of fat on top. Slappable ass with slight reverberation. Heaven.

by Anonymousreply 3209/23/2016

I like any and every body type for men. Twinky, muscley, chubby, you name it.

by Anonymousreply 3309/23/2016

I feel similarly, R33. I love [italic]men[/italic]. In all (well, most of) their variations.

Nope. I like guys who are ordinary. No gym rats, no narcissists. Yet to meet any who even have conversational skills. Mind over muscles, always.

by Anonymousreply 5301/13/2019

I still remember, walking in NYC’s Chelsea years ago, I saw a huge guy coming from the gym with his muscles so big and perfect for his frame. Each muscle chiseled to perfection.

I hope he took advantage of it because that look never lasts more than a few years

One of the more bizarre phenomena of the gay world are "muscle marys" -- guys with huge Arnold-esque bodies but major gay voice and overly femme mannerisms.

The mismatch is even more jarring than those FTMs with muscles, hairy chests ... and vaginas.

by Anonymousreply 5801/13/2019

I think it depends on how the muscles were developed. I like them athletic but natural not just created in a gym mindlessly lifting weights to add bulk that they have no use for other than the superficial look of it all. Nothings a bigger turnoff than an overdeveloped guy with muscles he has ni use for and actually seem to be impeding his flexibility and movement, immediately makes me think hes insecure and dumb.

by Anonymousreply 5901/13/2019

I am so lucky to come of age during the male fitness aesthetics movement. So many hot flexing buff dudes around campus, at the gym, an endless supply on Instagram. It’s eye candy heaven.

by Anonymousreply 7301/13/2019

by Anonymousreply 7401/13/2019

I like muscles. Short latino dudes built like a brick shithouse can move to the front of the line (such as it is).

However. There are guys with spectacular bodies without a drop of sexiness. Likewise, guys who aren't that built but very sexy. Hard to explain, but I know it when I see it.

by Anonymousreply 8001/13/2019

There can be too much of a good thing, professional bodybuilders usually look too gross. But I do love the stage just shy of that, with giant veiny muscles. Washboard abs can be a turnoff, some definition is ok, but I don't like them being overly defined.

by Anonymousreply 8101/13/2019

I love the Instagram male aesthetics fitness model bros

by Anonymousreply 8201/13/2019

I do not like big muscles at all.

by Anonymousreply 8301/13/2019

I require them. And abs

by Anonymousreply 8401/13/2019

Somewhere between swimmer and gymnast. I don't like muscle balloons and I don't want a veinasaurus.

by Anonymousreply 9810/29/2019

Like swimmer, baseball, and hockey builds. Football players are too bulky.

by Anonymousreply 9910/29/2019

R32 Also like thin layer of body fat. Don't like bulky or cut.

by Anonymousreply 10010/29/2019

Muscles are nice to look at and play with when you’re fucking, but muscly men don’t make good post-coital cuddlers, and that’s the bit I enjoy the most. I think Jake Gyllenhaal has the perfect body type. x

by Anonymousreply 10410/29/2019

Muscles, yes. Muscleheads, no.

by Anonymousreply 10510/29/2019

Muscle turns to fat fairly quickly, so enjoy that lard.

by Anonymousreply 10610/29/2019

Muscle doesn’t ‘turn into fat’ anymore than an apple can turn into an orange.

by Anonymousreply 10710/29/2019

Absolutely. I am a dyed in the wool certified muscle-whore and have been attracted to muscles since I was a little kid, before I ever had any idea that I might be gay. I remember seeing muscular men on TV and magazines and being absolutely fascinated by them and wanting to be them.

R106 you are factually incorrect, muscle tissue and fat tissue are biologically distinct and one cannot transform into another. What you are probably referring to (which most people confuse with muscle turning to fat) is when someone who is muscular doesn't train as hard as they used to and their muscles atrophy while at the same time their fat levels increase.

Also I don't agree with R101 either, muscular men can make good cuddlers if that floats your boat. There is a difference between 'muscular' and 'super ripped' and some people conflate/confuse the two.

by Anonymousreply 10810/30/2019

No. Lean is lovely, toned is nice but not a prerequisite at all. Slim but soft and delicate looking is the look that really gets me going

R4 thats my go to line for this question too!

by Anonymousreply 11101/24/2020

Before I even knew what was happening -- at the age of 7 my little boy boner started responding to the muscle magazines at the drug store. Love all kinds of different types now but the muscle guys still get my attention.

Oh wow ⬆️

by Anonymousreply 11301/24/2020

by Anonymousreply 11405/02/2020

No, a little bit athletic is fine. I like tall guys but I don’t mind if they are a bit overweight either.

by Anonymousreply 11505/02/2020

Someone who is too built telegraphs self-obsession, an inability to have fun and an overall archness of character that is a total turnoff. The worst sex I’ve ever had has been with bodybuilders.

However, a strapping daddy with huge arms and big chest, with a bit of a gut and a substantial ass ...swoon city.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 11605/02/2020

Yes. I am attracted to fit, athletic men. I am not attracted to bodybuilders or gym bunnies, who have no athletic abilities at all. A man does not have to have six pack abs for me to get turned on. He does need to take care of himself.

I exercise, and I want to share that with a man.

I write this during this godawful time of social isolation. I need a haircut. I've grown a beard for the first time in my life, so I'm not fit for companionship at the moment!
